Mojava in Wealden

My husband and I enjoyed delicious crispy bacon sandwiches on equally delicious fresh wholemeal bread. They were served with a generous amount of side salad and crisps...perfect..!!

Don’t order an iced latte. Tastes like water. Did complain and was told that was what you ordered and no refund or apology!! Neither of us liked it and it was £4.00 each, never again

Wholesome, fresh food! Wonderful atmosphere and friendly staff. Coretha and Quintin are excellent hosts. Love having coffee here.

Nice staff. Had to go to find coffee that was ordered and the mushrooms were a very small portion. Otherwise a good time. Would go again but ask for more mushrooms.

Usually a usual place for us to go but incredibly disappointed in the lack of customer service I recieved this time round. I ordered a drink which ended up having a gritty texture and it wasn't nice. I asked for a refund and I was met with a 'no, there's nothing wrong with our frappes' response. I was shocked at this as I am not usually one to complain about anything but on the occasion I have in other places, its been met with an apology at least or refund. I then said its a shame as we have been here loads and will now choose a different cafe in future and the response was 'that's fine'. They THEN tried to offer me a refund after going through a through people but I just wanted to leave with my little one. The £4.30 for the drink was obviously very important to them rather than keep a customer.

I can’t describe the level of shock at the dirty floor, walls, tables, chairs, toilet (!!!) and disgusting overflowing ashtrays in the “garden”. It’s seriously dirty. Health hazard dirty. Beware

Lovely staff. Tea, latte and gorgeous sandwiches. Will return if in the area. Water for dog and dog biscuits

Nice cafe, nothing fancy just good for a hot drink and bite to eat. Would make quite a difference to the cafe if there was music in the background as there wasn’t much of an atmosphere. Hot chocolate was delicious and staff friendly, really nice of them to give my dog a little dog biscuit. Great little local to support!

I visited Mojava in my lunch break meeting up with my brother.I ordered a cheese and ham toastie and a cup of tea. After 5 minutes my tea turned up. 20 minutes later my toastie still hadn’t turned up. I went to the counter to ask where my toastie was as I was on an hour lunch break so time was limited. The waiter said he would see where the order was. A few minutes later it still hadn’t arrived so I went to the counter and asked for it to be put in a box as I wasn’t going to have time to eat it. A few minutes later it turned up.The toastie was tasty but my complaint is with the time it took for my food to turn up. The cafe was fairly busy but it was by no means full. If there was some sort of delay or problem they should have come to the table and explained rather than just keep me waiting. This is the first time I have been to this cafe and it’s not a great first impression.

Nice setting in the outside garden.Coffees are large though a bit weak in taste.Limited range of cakes but nice sandwiches

Very poor coffee.. Weak tasteless. Not good atmosphere..radio blaring. Felt a bit down at heal.. First and last visit.

I often pop in here for a coffee. I have yet to eat in here but what I have seen looks very appetising. Good menu selection. It's very relaxing with lovely big sofas. There's a huge outside area. They cater well for children with a toy corner.

Fantastic prawn sandwich and coffees! Not one piece of shell. Really lovely. Gorgeous seating area outside.

Ordered a prawn sandwich...wow! When it arrived it was a generous portion, with crisps and some salad garnish.

Stopped here for coffee with our dog. Nice friendly staff and water provided for our dog Good atmosphere and good to get out of the rain . There is a garden for sunny days

The sticky toffee frappe was a very good size and was very tasty there was a nice environment in the cafe and as a plus it was dog friendly

I work in Uckfield so on the odd occasion stop in for lunch, the cheese and ham toasties are amazing the really do not skimp on portion size. The only slightly negative thing I have to say about mojava is that the decor is starting to look a little bit unloved, and that the staff could have a better eye on the cleaning.

Stopped here on the off chance on our way through the town. Ordered tea for 2, a latte and sandwiches- brie, bacon &cranberry sauce and a bacon, sausage & egg.Tea was lovely and served in a tea pot which is nice to see. Latte was good to according to my friend. Wow the sandwiches were excellent. Each was served with a side of good quality crisps and a nice mixed salad. We all had granary bread which was cut in doorstep slices and was clearly not the run of the mill bread.Mine had generous slices of brie and the cranberry sauce was nice and chunky.My friend who had the sandwich said it was excellent with the bacon and egg cooked just right. Price was it was very reasonable for what we received.We sat outside in the lovely courtyard area.We will definitely be visiting again.

I met colleagues in here for a meeting. The coffee was really good. We didn't eat, but other customer's food looked nice. The staff were friendly and atmosphere good too.

Just happened to be in Uckfield looking for a quick bite and came across Mojave, kept it simple and ordered what turned out to be a really good quality sausage and bacon sandwich, lovely fresh bread and quality bacon and sausage, sat outside in the sun and the peace and quiet - what's not to like!

I went here for coffee during a recent visit to meet with some family members in Uckfield. A contemporary cafe with a good selection of beverages and soft drinks, makes a good coffee. whilst we didn't eat, the cakes on display looked very tasty and the menu looked appealing. Definitely worth considering if you are looking for a drink and a snack whilst in Uckfield.

Only cafe I have not been to in Uckfield and visited here for drinks and cake. I was very pleasantly surprised by the interior and we sat outside on a sunny October day which was lovely. It was very sheltered. The tea and cakes were good. My daughter really enjoyed the hot chocolate and they gave her extra sprinkles on top which she requested. I will try it another day for lunch.

The sandwiches are extremely good. and a bit different . Haven't tried anything else but when other people have it looks just as good. Very good service and you can eat inside or out.

I visited this place for a nice meal. I just had jacked potatoes. It was alright in general, nothing special to say really. The place itself looks a bit more fancier than the other places around the area/street. The place had a nice waiter, made me feel comfortable even though the place itself had a bit too classy looking people inside.They also have a nive garden where you can feel a bit privacy if feeling like it.Overall nothing special to be honest. Prices are decent and propably many other better places around the area if you want a bit nicer experience.

Habdy for the rail station, good sandwiches and pastries., friendly service, plus tables in the sun at back if needed.

Checking out the coffee shop in Uckfield that isn't Costa, we discovered that it has a lovely bright interior with lots of comfortable seating (which the Costa hasn't) but unfortunately the coffee is tasteless and weak. If this is fixed, Mojava will be the go to coffee shop in town.

Popped in for coffee and cake, lovely little cafe, nice atmosphere, plenty of space, tables for 1s and 2s as well as larger groups and nice sofas with toy boxes for the kids - great idea! Our daughter played happily while we enjoyed the drinks. My wife says the food in there is also very good too, but I have personally yet to try that! Next time. Good to see it doing well.

Lovely coffee, relaxed atmosphere and great cheese on toast! Homemade cakes are scrummy. Would recommend.

Food/drink very reasonably priced and quick service, I would be happy to go back if it wasn't for the noisy uncouth staff, they shout at each other really loudly (one women in particular) and shout across to customers on regular basis. I found this so annoying and was unable to have s conversation with my family/friends. I have experienced this on several occasions as I wanted to give them a chance, hoping the manager/owner might have words.

Convenient location but the staff/managers require educating as to what is required in this sort of establishment. When we visited there were very few customers in there but clearly there had been. Nearly all of the tables had cups/plates/etc still on them and they were dirty. It appers that no-one had been tasked with clearing things away once the customers had left. Shame really. It is not a place that I would wish to goto again especially when there are significantly better places to go to in the high street.

Excellent coffee shop with very nice outside area. Owner very accommodating if a little quiet, but this is more than made up by with the very bright and friendly staff.

Excellent service.nice selection of cakes could do with the coffee being a bit better but other than that a lovely little place to chill out and catch up.staff are always very welcoming.

Mojava has improved in leaps and bounds in the last two years. When I first visited it looked tired and run down. In the last six months to a year the owner has invested in new decor and furniture to replace the old stuff.They offer a variety of food and drink inside, everything from Coca Cola to coffee. The coffee isn't to everyone's taste, if you come expecting the finest coffee beans you'll probably end up being disappointed. However, if you want an average cup of coffee in a warm friendly environment then you can't go too far wrong.The food is generally okay, although the sausages in the breakfast aren't always hot enough. Speaking to the staff usually remedies the situation. The quality of their food products is good and the pricing on par for most places in the area.

Ok yes the decor is a bit plain, it does feel very big and empty. However, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The sandwiches we had were only a £5 very fresh and tasty. The coffee was good too. All in all I think is a great value place to go for a coffee and snack.

Food was decent and staff friendly, but all the tables were grubby. Chairs had ingrained dirt on them, so found this very off putting!

It does lack a bit of atmosphere, and the decor is a bit shabby, but I always find the service to be pleasant, and the food very nice and excellent value. Would recommend the all day breakfast.

First visit with friend for catch up over coffee and naughty cake, once inside we were very disappointed very dirty and the sofa and chairs need to be put into a skip, upon ordering we asked the waitress what the cakes were as no signs to help, really couldn't be bothered to tell us what was in the slices of cake, we asked in particular what was the large cake and she just said really not sure!!!! When my teapot came over it was cracked and stained around the spout, so we left, Can you survive like this I don't think so in a town as small as uckfield, with such a large selection to visit, if I was the owner I would get rid of her and employ someone who wants to work and knows what they are selling, and also have a good clean up!!! Won't ever step foot in there again

Since changing hands, I find this place a bit on the dismal side.Do not find the staff over friendly. Would not go back

A lovely spacious cafe, which makes food to your specification, to suit any dietary needs. The cakes and coffee are of superb quality and the staff are so lovely too!
