I’ve had a lifetimes obsession with curry (well, why not - it’s Britain’s national dish isn’t it!) and while walking through the Open Market one day I was drawn in by the enticing waft coming from Mohammed’s Spice Of Life. Ordering a veggie platter from the friendly serving lady I sat outside in the sunshine and while enjoying the flavours of dahl, spinach, samosa, veg curry, etc I wondered if this was the future of the Open Market - as an international food court? We already have the excellent Kouzina Greek kitchen, Smorls falafel, an excellent Korean / Japanese place so why not? The whole centre of the covered market could be an eating area with benches and long tables.. how great would that be? With quality eateries like Mohammads the Open Market has a wonderful future ahead of it.

Lamb samosa's are amazing, onion bhaji very filling. New coconut and banana dish was a better alternative to other sweet desserts in the area - would recommend.

The service is excellent and the food is an authentic taste of the Indian subcontinent. Beware the chilly sauce as it is extremely spicy - my husband ate a spoonful and had to wash his mouth out! The atmosphere is always friendly and very welcoming. Mohamed is a lovely man

Not a Thai restaurant put in the wrong section! Food is from Goa, India. Needs to be moved into Indian food!

There are various options in the refurbished Open Market and this might be the cheapest. There are various curries, meat and vegetable. The problem with the location is that the kitchen is small so food seems to be cooked in advance, kept cold, then reheated to order. The owner is very friendly.

Food is excellent and a great little venue. The service was great, I've only marked down one star due to the speed of service. There are less than 10 tables in the entire restaurant and the floor we
