Food was poor and not very warm rice was clumpy Meal tasted like congealed butter Poor service.. 8 of us and we were continually served from only one end of table and asked to pass down food / drinks etc Specifically requested a glass of Sauvignon blanc and was clearly served cheap house wine Such a shame as the restaurant has such a lovely setting

Once again, my favourite. Food is simply delicious, although the pilau rice is a little bland. Service has been an issue in the past but has improved. Takeaway: there tends to be something missing, so make sure you order EVERY single item! (Side salad, mint yoghurt, etc). I gave it the benefit of the doubt and was very happy that I did. When you understand their ways, it is stunning.

We haven’t eaten in for a long time as service used to be terrible but what a great addition the young blonde girl Amy has made to the service always smiles and helpful, a real asset to the restaurant

We eat at Mogul regularly - the staff are awesome and today we ordered online. There was a bit of a problem with the delivery so the staff drove all the way to our house to deliver the food personally. You don’t get service like that often - thanks Mogul team!

The Nahari is out of this world, it's so good my friend and I, don't consider anything else but that, great service, always welcoming and prompt, food comes out timely. It's very reasonable in pricing, restaurant is clean and tidy and well maintained

Ordered a takeaway on line. It took 2 hours to arrive plus 2 phone calls chasing, when it arrived the food was cold!! This WAS our favourite Indian, absolutely disgraceful service. I just hope we aren't poorly from heating up the food. MOGHUL, you have let us down big time.

We ordered a takeaway, which included mixed starter, oh my god couldn’t tell what two of the items were it was a mushy mess I think one was a samosa, phoned to complain waiter said I’d ordered a takeaway so it’s not as good as eating in, we’ve dined & ordered takeaway for years, very disappointed lost customer.

Had to send popadoms back too spongy urgh food mediocre service rubbish will not return although we did get a free pint of cobra

Had a takeaway on Tuesday, wasn't sure what to have and advised the Lamb rogan josh. It was the best ever, melt in the mouth lamb, tasty sauce with pilau rice. The pashwari naan was lovely too. I went to pick it up and was given a drink while I waited a couple of minutes. Best ever and will be going for a meal inside its gorgeous.

Super Quality Food, Beautifully Spiced

I recommend trying out the Chicken Biryani and Fish Tikka at this place. Thefood was tasty , the atmosphere was wonderful, and the staff were very welcoming. The prices were reasonable too. Don't miss out on this place, you'll definitely enjoy it!

My honest opinion, avoid this place if you want to feel like your money was well spent. Service was absolutely terrible the food was tasteless. The decor is nice it looks the part when u walk in and sit down. We went out as a celebration for my lad and this just killed the mood and ended the celebrations early. Definitely somewhere I will NEVER go again. £100+ pound wasted. If u want value for money avoid mogul. Never have I even been somewhere and felt so under valued as a customer.

Ordered our food at 6:30pm, 2 hours later still not arrived after calling the restaurant to ask about it during the 2 hours, each time the staff member over the phone told me it was 10 minutes away. I can understand busy nights in the hospitality business but a 2 hour wait and being told lies is ridiculous to me, I was polite and cordial to the staff both times I called and I expect the same level of respect and honesty from the business itself. it’s unfortunate I’d heard great things about the place too but, expectations straight down the pan

I occasionally go to Indian restaurant but this is the first time I had a fabulous time which is so different with everywhere I have been to. Special thanks to chef and Edyta for making my night special 😊😋

On arrival the restaurant looks nice and expectations of a nice meal were high, sadly the service was poor with clearly untrained staff. The starters were similar to frozen ones you can buy and the pilau rice was brown and stodgy like microwave rice, the chicken and lamb in the curries was poor quality and the naan bread was similar to shop bought certainly didn't look or taste freshly made.. what a let down , won't be going back.

Saturday night. Restaurant not full. Very slow service. Waiter could not understand what we were ordering. Had to show him on the menu. Table not cleared properly between courses. Slow delivery of food. Cutlery dropped onto me causing greasy stains. Couldn’t get bill so had to walk up to counter to pay. Gave feedback but nothing positive in response. Very poor experience. Been here before but would not return.

Very slow service, food tasteless, atmosphere out of context, modern English music!

If I could score 0 I would. As I was dining alone it was as if I wasn't welcome as I wasn't a party of 4 or more. Before I had taken my coat off I was being asked how many poppadums I wanted and what drink I wanted, it was obvious they wanted the table. This was the case for the couple sat on the table next to me. I was delivered my main course whilst I was still eating my poppadums, see attached photo. Pilau rice was not warm, must've been cooked a lot earlier. Definitely will not be going again. I would recommend anyone wanting an Indian Restaurant I would suggest the Blue Bay.

Clearly a reason Can’t leave a review Ordered take away - will not recommend this place worse curry I’ve had , lack of ingredients and just loaded with chillis- never had a vegetarian jelfrazie that tasted of vindaloo and only consisted of potatoes and cabbage (what ever the 2nd veg was) veg samosa just covered my mouth in oil and side salad was a joke ! Ordered more tasty curry’s elsewhere

The food was excellent service could be better but I did think it was down to a new starter with less experience, it didn't detract from the meal. The music is slightly loud and annoying I'm sure I heard let it go! twice whilst there. Traditional Indian music would be more suitable to add to the experience. Anyway visit and enjoy the wonderful food I will be back.

I would love to give it 5 stars however the waiter serving us was unsure what the menu was as we asked for street food asking what the difference in sheesh and sheek kebab he said it was spices, thankfully the owner I think rescued our order. I had prawn cocktail for starter and the sauce was warm but I still ate it. The street food wasn't as good as previous food I had there as previously it was tip top. The owner is so hospitable and gives a warm welcome, cocktails are only available when a certain member of staff is there. The atmosphere and experience is fantastic. I will definitely go again but I will order something different

Been here loads and it’s always been good but it wasn’t great today. Collected and it was 20 minutes after the time it said to collect. One of the items was really hot, straight out of the kitchen, the other was freezing cold like it had been waiting round for ages. I will give it another chance as it’s always been good before, hopefully just a bad day

Staff were all excellent and the quality of food was fantastic. Service wasn't slow but also didn't feel like we were being rushed out the door. Definitely be going back.

Oh dear. We've been eating here for many years and the last two times, service has been very slow. Tonight two couples who arrived after us were served before us. I asked the waiter about it and he said, 'It's because you had a starter.' 'Oh, really, does that make a difference?' I said. 'It does, actually,' he replied. Are they locking us in with a plate of poppadoms? We were sitting there for hours. Thankfully my husband is good company and a couple of glasses of wine eased the way but it turns out that two glasses of wine added £12 to the bill and the whole thing cost £60 which is steep for dinner for two without a lot of frills. I think another reviewer said that they felt more attention was going into fulfilling online orders than was going into looking after restaurant customers - that does seem to the case, I can't see why service was so slow otherwise. Step it up, Mogul, for £60 I need a bit more love.

The food was absolutely delicious! We had the lamb nihari and lamb chops with garlic and coriander naan. You could taste how fresh it was and the meat was succulent and cooked to perfection!

Good service but sometimes the food could be better.

Normally the food is quiet good here. I picked up my take away and whilst I was told it would be ready when I got there it wasn't. There place wasn't busy because the male waiter spent most of his time chatting to the bar lady rather than ask the customer can he help. Instead I had to grab a random to ask where my food is. Positive - Piping hot, plentiful, spicy Negative - Looked bland, coagulated/lumpy, too much fat/ghee layered on top. Conclusion I won't be having the chicken jalfrezi again. This review is based on my recent visit only

I loved my meal. The food is exceptional and amazing value. The building is a real experience, so much character. And best of all when I accidentally, overcome by the pleasure of the meal, left my wallet at the restaurant, they brought my wallet to my home. I'd be giving 6 or 7 or 67 stars if I could.

Went on a Friday night and there were 13 of us. Nothing was too much trouble for the lovely staff who couldn't have been kinder. The atmosphere was great and the food delicious with good sized portions. Although it looks a bit tatty on the outside, inside it was warm and welcoming. Thanks for a lovely evening.

Over from America and my mum who lives in the area said she hadn't had takeaway in a while because she has celiac. I called a few places and got no help. Mogul were brilliant. The lady who answered the phone was very helpful and so was the manager when she had questions for them. I'm a restaurant manager in the states and I'd be proud to have someone like that on my team. To top it off the driver was friendly and the food was unbelievable. I'd give them 10 stars if I could.

We come here regularly as the food is outstanding and the waitress, Caitlyn, is absolutely fantastic. Always goes above and beyond. Should management be reading this I hope you realise what a credit she is to you… We have just returned from the Mogul this evening and she literally was doing the work of 3 staff… I would suggest you have serious words with male waiter (never seen him before, but stood at back of restaurant doing absolutely NOTHING for the 2 hours we were there apart from slyly checking his phone. I’m not exaggerating when I say he didn’t lift a single plate). That said, we will be back for the food and in the hope of Caitlyn being our waitress!

Absolutely shocking service, literally sat there being ignored until eventually we had to approach the bar and ask to order. Food was average except for the chicken tikka which was horrific and the worst we have ever tried. Sauce was bland, tastless and literally just tasted like salty thick yogurt 🤢 paid £100 for horrible service and average food. Never again.

Every week we either get take away from Moghul or eat in. The food is AMAZING. We think it is the best in Prestwich/Whitefield areas and we’ve tried them all. We’re veggie and they have the best paneer, but they are always happy to adapt other dishes for us too. The setting is beautiful in a converted church and it is immaculately clean. We recently introduced Prestwich friends to it as despite it being close, they’d never tried it. They’ve said it’s the best Indian food they’ve had and are now new regulars. Staff are so friendly and chatty too, and recently squeezed us in without a booking on NYE (thank you!!!)

My husband and one of our neighbours went to this restaurant on New year's eve 2022. After reading some bad reviews I was worried but I didn't need to be. The Staff were great as was the food. The service was a little slow but they were busy and I would rather wait for good food than have the food rushed and not good. The price are not too bad either. We will definitely be visiting again next year sometime and will be recommending them to people we know.

Great Christmas Eve meal! We’ve been coming for almost 20 years and the food is always stunning every Christmas Eve, tonight they were a little under pressure and clearly under staffed but we’re apologetic and the food always lives up! Thanks Mogul!

I am writing to express my frustration and disappointment with my recent dining experience at your establishment. My family and I visited your restaurant on Christmas Day and were surprised to see that the cost of the meal was £50 per head. We were only planning on having a small meal, although one poppadom per head is ridiculous . The menu was limited and struggled to cater to a vegan. The standard price in the area is between £30-40 so I fail to understand how the mogul charge an extra £20 per head. I understand that prices for goods and services can vary based on a number of factors. However, I feel that this particular price is excessive for the small amount of food we ordered. If I had known that the cost of the meal would be so high, I would have simply cooked at home. I am disappointed that we were not informed of the high cost of the meal before ordering, and I feel that we, and all other diners, were taken advantage of as a result. I hope that you will take my concerns into consideration and make the necessary adjustments to your pricing and disclosure practices. I look forward to your response. Sincerely
