One of the best Indian restaurants I've ever eaten at.

Me and my partner go every week without fail, my partner recommended this place to me when we first got together. So I said hey ho let’s give it a go. I find it hard to find a decent curry place and let me tell you when I stepped into that restaurant and my food was placed infront of me wowww just wowww my tastebuds were tingling I’ve never had a curry so beautiful and flavourful in my entire life. Yes some people may say that they are over priced on some things but what do you expect from a good Indian! For the quality of the food the price is very reasonable and I have no problem paying this! Will be returning again best Indian by far!! Service yes sometimes can be abit slow due to being busy but what do you expect it’s called have some patience and wait because the food is spectacular either way regardless if it comes out in 15-20 minutes or if it’s 30-40 minutes! Customer service is also great always greeted with a smile and they never fail to make our night

We visited another location next to this one and parked behind the set of buildings for 45 minutes, not realising that the park was only for customers of Forts of India. The car park was almost empty. We've since received a letter detailing a fine of £60 for parking there without permission. We had been planning to return to the area and visit this establishment next, and called them to explain the mistake and ask if anything could be done with that in consideration. The manager stated that parking is handled by another company and they would do nothing about it. I can understand taking steps to ensure only your customers are using your car park. An effective charge of £80/hour to that effect though, is pure greed. It's put us off from returning.

It’s pricey for an Indian and its location. £5 for popadom and chutney. The chutney was very nice but popadoms too flimsy, broken into tiny pieces on touching them. I had mixed kebab starter which to be fair was fantastic. Main I had lamb bhuna and it was tasteless, no flavour so bland very disappointing. Rice is expensive too and £4.50 for a garlic Nan which was small and average at best. I won’t be returning or recommending

Good food but the place totally lacks atmosphere. I would have liked to have had something that reminded me of India like a bit of wall art or some music but nothing. There was nothing, just a plain clean restaurant with good service. If you want good tasty food its good, if you would like to atmosphere of India then no.

I recently visited this restaurant as I was a visitor to the area. I wasntimpressed in my opinion the prices was 5 star but the food was no more than a dissapointing 3 the service not deserving of a 3. I made these comparisons based on my local Indian restaurant were I have beenneating for the past 3 years. To say that I was dissapointed would be an understatement.

Service was great but the restaurant was empty so no stress on the waiting staff. Pickle tray seemed tasteless for some reason the lime pickle seemed quite dry. Perhaps I chose the wrong main course, a Chicken Handii so that could be my fault wanting to try something new. Again pretty low in taste although lots of chicken Chunks. Because it was empty there was no atmosphere

I dont normally leave reviews, but I was just online to get the phone number to book for tomorrow night for my sons birthday. We usually go to the Jewel in the Crown in Bury, but in September we tried Forts for a change and the food was great. Service was good too. Am looking forward to tomorrow nights meal, and hopefully it will be another 5 star review.

Had a wonderful doo for Friend's 70th today Ullah was tremendous, wouldn't leave me alone, but when he did I managed to eat the food and it was fabulous

Highly recommended staff very friendly and helpful with the menu and food recommendations, bright and spacious dining area food really nice with big portion sizes Will definitely be returning again with friends and family

Only ever come here midweek and food alway excellent. Everything so fresh and tasty,. Lovely starters , mains and sides. Host was really friendly and attentive. I highly recommend Forts to anyone who enjoys Indian food. Thanks .

It was my first time at Fort of India and all the staff from the moment we walked through the door were very welcoming. There were six of us who were celebrating my boyfriend's birthday, and all of us said the same thing the food was lovely and lots of it. We will definitely go again to Fort of India.

What a lovely experience of having our birthday using the Sunday offer. Ulla who looked after us was so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for him, which made the whole experience really fantastic

Decided to go last minute for the Sunday lunch menu and what an excellent decision that was. Fabulous food and service for a very reasonable price. I've not been here for 25 years but will definitely be going again in the near future.👍

Tried other local Indian restaurants, but the FORTS OF INDIA stands out by a country mile. Unbelievable taste, every dish is sublime and the value for money is bang on. The staff are a credit to this place too along with the owner.

I love going here as a Treat on a Sunday afternoon with friend for 16.45 per head its such a Bargain as the foot is outstanding and the staff are so professional, friendly and they have a Great sense of humour. I would highly recommend anyone to visit. You will NOT Be Dissapointed. Thank tou again to the staff and chef for making my Sundays Special.

Fantastic Indian Restaurant & Take-away. Been going approaching 20 yrs and its simply fab! Delightfull consistent food with great professional service. Keep up the great work guys. Have to say now though it's getting very expensive for takeaway now. A classic curry with rice twice with a few popadoms, onions, and chutney. Nearly £30! Needless to say we don't go as often anymore.

Enforced a parking ticket because I didn't register my license plate despite my group eating there. Quality bunch of guys.

Usually spot on , but tonight item missing from £52 takeaway order. When phoned to enquire, received apology but asked to come back to re-collect. Didn’t fancy another 15mins drive. Asked instead for credit the item back on card, refused as “don’t know how to work machine”! Asked for them to deliver then, “no cannot do”! Only offer was to ask next time I order….won’t be ordering again. Not exactly good customer service.

I picked a takeaway up from this restaurant and parked in the car park whilst waiting for my food in the local pub while it was cooked. I've just received a parking fine and cannot get through this restaurant. I have also emailed and had no response.

Went for Sunday buffet menu. Amazing value for money! The starter came on a sizzling plate and had choice of any main curry. Also had ice cream.. Great wine menu and elegant setting. Definitely will be returning..!

Very nice curries and naan bread. We like to thank Rahman who attended to us. He was very helpful and polite. Delightful dinner and totally enjoyed the meal.

I don’t think I’ve ever received as rude customer service as I did upon entering this restaurant. We came at 9:50PM, which is admittedly later than normal but the restaurant doesn’t close until 11PM. When we entered we were frowned at when asking for a table, no smiles, no pleasantries, and was told we have 40 minutes - which is incorrect, but sure. We decided that was enough time to eat and have a nice time. The waiters looked around awkwardly before one of them decided to take us to a table. Immediately after sitting down the waiter comes over and again, no pleasantries, just says “what do you want to drink”, we ask for a couple minutes to look at the menu and he replies with “well you need to be eaten and gone in 15-20 minutes”. How rude!? First of all we had about an hour still. I’ve worked in the service industry, I know how it works. I’m glad we left and didn’t give them the satisfaction of giving us food they could apparently cook in 10 mins. Never felt so unwelcome in a restaurant in my life. My first experience with the restaurant and don’t think I’ll be coming back again. To conclude, I’ve attached an image of when I started typing this review and it says it still doesn’t close for 43 minutes and that’s after I’ve got back home. Laughable service.

We’ve been several times to this restaurant and never been disappointed with the food. Read some recent poor reviews and still decided to try again. Not disappointed!!! Food was excellent, service excellent, prices very acceptable. Tried the house wine Merlot 250ml £8… reasonable considering the wine was very nice. We have no problem in recommending this restaurant

Disgusting service. Staff were rude throughout the entirety of the meal. Sighing, rolling their eyes and complaining when we asked if we could order more drinks. Making rude and disrespectful remarks during the entire meal. Even when we were attempting to help clean up the plates for the staff , we were told to ‘Move your hand, leave it alone.’ Staff members insinuating that we could not afford the meal with comments such as ‘Are you sure you want this on just one card.’ Not once did any member of staff come over and ask if everything was okay or whether we needed anything. Food was below average with tasteless curry. Avoid at all costs

Birthday meal for 8. No service, no manners and couldn't care less. There are plenty of quality restaurants in the surrounding area.... Spend your money elsewhere.

This place needs to learn the meaning of the words "customer service" Haven't been back and won't go back due to the conduct of the waiters. If we wanted to be treated badly we would go to Karen's diner.

Visited here recently after never having been before. Waiter was the rudest person any of us have ever encountered. He treated us like an inconvenience.. He literally rolled his eyes at us when we were asking questions. He ruined the whole experience. Would not recommend at all due to his terrible attitude. No wonder it's always empty. Too many good alternatives in the area to have to deal with such ignorance. Food was mediocre too.

Friendly staff, seated straight away, given a decent chance to choose drinks before waiter came and asked, order taken and everything arrived hot well presented and tasty. Restaurant was very clean, toilets were immaculate, bill was reasonable enough. Definitely somewhere id recommend.

We arrived on a Saturday without a reservation and they fitted us in. It was already busy and people were arriving all the time. It took quite a while for the starter to arrive but it was worth the wait. The food was hot and delicious. The tandoori lamb chops were superb. The main was also hot and delicious with lovely subtle spices that danced on the tongue. obviously from a professional chef. Waiters were really nice and brought us a jug of fresh water because it was very warm in there. We had hot towels at the end of our meal which was a nice touch. It was quite expensive but not as expensive as some. We paid the bill and got complimentary mints. Lovely place nice and clean. Clean toilets which is a telling sign in a restaurant. Would recommend and would return.

Absolutely the best Indian restaurant in whitefield. Food out of this world. Portion sizes big, really good value for money. NYE service and atmosphere was phenomenal. My friends birthday was exceptional. Lovely clean dining with brilliant service.

Food was bland, fish pakoras were tasteless, chicken rogan josh wasn’t spicy or flavoursome - they delivered my garlic naan after i’ve already eaten my main and when i said no thanks we don’t need it now was met with “well it takes long to make” in a pretty bad attitude - the restaurant wasn’t even busy. the acoustics are also quite loud and canteen-like, even though it was only about half full. poor food, rude staff… won’t be going again.

Not sure what's happened to this place, I read some reviews before my visit and thought I would ignore the recent negativity and give it a try. Staff were rude and the food was awful. Will not be returning.

Always look forward to their food whether it is a takeaway or inside. This was a takeaway and both the Tandoori Spicy wings and Prawn Puri were Top Draw.

Every time I call it's not available. The owners are not bothery. So watch your food. Of they can't be botherd reply they don't be botherd about food. And Ind fact it's not Indian. Ask for truth. Read the reviews. Not once do the owners reply. Goes to show they give naff all. I recommend do not order or eat

Not been here for a long time. Surprised how busy it was for a Tuesday. The place feels clean and the staff are lovely. Our meals were very good. I had the lamb chops starter and the naga balti for main course. The whole meal was amazing. Good touch that the plates and food were hot. I am definitely coming back soon.

BEWARE!!! Picture attached of the strange little man, he works & has links to the restaurant. He hangs around people’s cars looking inside taking photos to give Parking fines, a local business owner tells me it’s the owners son. This is what they do to make money, even out of business hours he lingers around prowling peoples cars.. I would stay well clear of this dirty place.

It was nice, everything you expect.

The staff are rude, I politely asked for my cutlery to be changed as it was full of dried food ( hadn’t been washed properly ) which I find bad in the middle of a pandemic, and the waiter was really rude about it snatched them off the table made me and my children feel very uncomfortable. The meat in the curries was also very chewy I couldn’t finish my food. Chips also very greasy. Will not be coming back and be advising fiends and family not to also.

Food good but a little on the expensive side.

I've not been impressed with some of the meat based signature or specialist dishes, but the vegetarian options are exceptional! Very good.

Purchased the set meal deal for 2 Starter was really nice. 2 Curries below Chicken tikka masala tasteless and paid extra for chicken tikka which was very rubbery not tasting of chicken! Chicken tikka rogan josh same tasteless and again extra cost chicken tikka rubbery no taste Garlic Nan dry Saag aloo was okay Rang Resturant explain quality issues, replied sorry will pass on the comments to the chef and didn’t seem bothered one bit with his tone. If they had been sympathetic and at least tried to offer something I would not be posting this Definitely will not use again or recommend to anyone

Honestly one of the best curries We’ve ever had Went in on my birthday last month and everything was great!. The rice was so tasty yet so light. All the meats and poultry we had were top quality and plentyful. Can’t wait to return very very soon 👍🏼👍🏼
