Moghul Brasserie in Havant

4th and last visit. First two visits were OK, 3rd not so good and 4th today really poor quality food. Lacked any real spice and extreme amount of oil in all dishes. Very disappointed indeed.

Really awful curry ....rice was watery and chicken was not nice at all. Garlic naan cold and no poppadoms that we paid for ...very disappointing.

Staff were lovely, food was great. The buffet is great value for money!

As a returning customer to the Moghul and somewhat of a self proclaimed curry critique, I can confirm that this place is hands down one of the greatest Indian dining experiences in the county, the friendly warm welcoming staff accompanied by the wholesome and honest take on Indian cuisine always leaves us with that unshakable curry craving fully satisfied. Next time you get that feeling, do yourself a big favour and book a table, you won’t regret it !

Really good buffet style Indian restaurant. Not a huge choice of options but plenty of it and regularly kept topped up. Good service and friendly staff.

I've had better Indian food from Tesco, food was awful tasteless my wife makes a better curry, I think they forgot to add spices so very bland. It was like eating a poor man's casserole.

Popped in without a booking and they seated 5 of us happily. Good buffet food at reasonable price. Plenty had. Beer is a bit expensive but that's the only small downside. Will go again for sure. Lovely evening had.

Our first order from here tonight . Food was amazing. We have come all the way from Havant and was not disappointed. This has just become my no.1 to go for indian food. Even my fussy daughter enjoyed it :)

Had a really good buffet meal at a cheap price. While there is a restricted menu, the naga chilli chicken is to be recommended if you like a hot curry. There is also lamb and chicken korma and a prawn and spinach dish. Please see the photos, they can be busy, so best to book. One benefit is free parking in the car park at the back of the restaurant and you can access via the back door.

As soon as we walked in, I knew we'd chosen the right place.it was clean, airy, and the staff knowledgeable and helpful. The manager Josh was so friendly, and as we were visiting for a short holiday, he was happy to tell us about Hayling Island. The food was wonderful, tasty and clearly made with fresh ingredients. The whole meal was a wonderful experience. Thank you, Josh.

Buffet was lovely,would highly reccomend ,the staff were fantastic and friendly. Going back when we are back to Hayling in July.

Could do with the music being a bit louder as you can here everybody else's conversations, but the food is absolutely amazing for the price. Had the buffet and everything was of a very high quality. Very welcoming staff too. Will be back next time I visit the beach down here!

Food is great, service however is awful the main server is rude and obnoxious. But the chefs however make up for the service with their food quality.

This is our local, we have been coming here for years and it never disappoints. The food is lovely and the staff are amazing. We recently hosted my mums surprise birthday meal here, and they were so hospitable and amazing. They let me round early before opening to set up. They assisted in helping to secretly set up the cake for the final surprise at the end, going above and beyond. Cannot recommend this place enough, whether it be for an evening meal or for a big celebration with friends and family! Big shout out to all the staff, thank you!

Had a lovely evening meal a couple of Fridays ago. Lamb korai, chicken tikka, vegetable bhaji, lentils, bread and the best onion bhaji ever! The whole meal was very tasty, chicken so tender. Service good and friendly. Restaurant has a lovely atmosphere with different areas. Will definitely be going again.

Visited here on a Monday evening for the £10 buffet , great choice and very clean inside . Don’t be put off by the lack of kerb appeal Friendly staff , traditional music .. Richard Clayderman does the carpenters .

Doesn’t look great from the outside ( in fact it looks a bit scary!) but once inside, we were greeted by a warm welcome, good service, and the mid week buffet option was perfect and good value for money. Definitely recommended

My family and I often go to the Moghul and order take aways. We have never, ever had bad service or food and they always go out of their way to make us feel like family. Love the Moghul and will definitely recommend the place to everyone who loves good food and service.

We were unable to arrange a night out for our parents in isolation this year and as we all live 100's and in some cases 1000's miles away decided to contact local to my father . All sorted by Moghul ... great service, advice and making me feel a valued customer... thank you

Ordered take away delivery at 5pm was told 45 minimum it finally arrived about 615 Fine no problem but my god that’s the worse Indian I’ve ever had I ordered a chicken tikka as a main course it was rubbery tasteless and I had a feeling possibly off chicken Straight in the bin I will never use or recommend this awful establishment and will go back to elm masala once they reopen

Buffet night at £10 a head is from Sunday through to Thursday. There is always a madras type chicken, mild chicken, mild lamb, and a mild prawn dish with the trays being frequently topped up as they empty. There is also a good selection of freshly prepared starters. Parking is free after 6pm in the car park behind the Mogul. The staff are really pleasant and the decor is attractive with table covers and napkins. Drink prices are reasonable. The quality and quantity of food together with attentive and pleasant staff earns the Mighty Mogul 5*. I should add they were full tonight, we booked in advance. Thank you.

We were recommended to try the Moghul and we were very pleased that we were. Our food was excellent and we are very happy to recommend this Take Away. We look forward to returning to sample their buffet.

I was told by a friend I may get a nice value meal in there, but I didn't expect as friendly and professional service as well. Place is great for pretty much anything from dates from parties to business meetings. Helping staff and very good food even on fairly low fixed price 'all you can eat' kind of a buffet makes it a place definitely worth checking out.

We go here regularly and it’s a really good restaurant, staff are excellent and the owner is genuinely out to please and offer a good service. As regular visitors to the buffet my only comment is that the selections never change and I never get to eat the vegetables because I don’t like aubergines as with an allergy to cheese I cannot eat the cauliflower paneer. It would be nice to see a vegetable bahgee or mushroom bahgee now and again for a change. If you go on a jazz night you must book as he is often struggling to find tables. If you go a la Carte the stuffed pepper is lovely as is the king prawn delight

Visited this restaurant for a take away when we were staying on Hayling Island last week and were delighted with the result. Really tasty food, huge portions and definitely value for money. If we didn’t live so far away we’d be back!

I've said in other reviews recently that most Indian restaurants are now of such a quality that they have to have something special to differentiate them from the crowd. For the Moghul, this was a special offer of a buffet bar where, for a fairly low fixed price, one could go and help oneself to as much as one wanted. Naturally, we did, and it was all of excellent quality. When I responded to the question of "is everything OK", with a comment that it was a little mild for my taste, the waiter went off and returned a short time later with a specially cooked meal that was a lot hotter than the standard fayre. It was still fairly mild to my taste, (which is maybe another example of the north-south divide), but the fact that they did that and all within the confines of their buffet offer, showed exceptional service.

Have eaten the buffet many times by ourselves and family. Evening buffet excellent value and staff very accommodating to younger family members.

My husband and I have recently moved to Hayling Island and tried our first curry takeaway this evening for my birthday. It was absolutely terrible. Never tasted anything like it. the tandoori chicken chat tasted and smelt like pickled onion. The chicken tikka very bland and tasteless. Never again will we order from here. The food is in the bin and we are left hungry! Such a shame. It's so hard to find a good tasty indian nowadays. This was one of the worst!

I had tried the buffet meal a year ago and was ill afterwards so reluctantly tried the restaurant again mid October, but from the menu this time.

I am from Birmingham and came here after 6 months and I can’t believe the staff recognised us. It was lovely to come back. The food is always delicious and the staff are Amazing but Mohammed looked after us and made sure we got everything we need. Excellent service from Mohammed, will definitely come back again soon

I cannot praise the staff here enough. Nothing is too much and always greeted with a friendly smile! Food is amazing, perfect for an evening with friends or family or dates! Best place on the island for an Indian. Come here a lot with my partner and work. Nothing bad to say at all.

My first time writing a review as was so impressed by Moghul. We were let down at Ghandi down the road (did not have room for us despite booking!) and chaps here very accommodating despite they too were busy. Certainly best Indian food on the Island, friendly service, good price and nice relaxed calm atmosphere. Saved our night! Kind waiter heard we had a 2 hour wait for taxi so drive 2 of us back to hotel! AMAZING SERVICE!

We took my 95-year old mother to dinner here on Friday and had a lovely experience. The waiter was very attentive and there were plenty of vegetarian options. We will definitely be back!

Popped in on the off chance and was soon seated at a table. The buffet (Monday to Thursday) is a great way to try different dishes that perhaps you wouldn't normally order as you can take as little or as much of any particular dish on offer from the good selection available together with the usual accompaniments. Service is swift but unobtrusive and the staff are very helpful explaining any dishes you might not be familiar with. Very reasonable cost. Have visited here before and it is a popular venue with the rest of my family too. There is unobtrusive background music of British 1960s/1970s ilk and it would be nice if there were more ethnic style no and again.

We had a read a few reviews on here before eating at the Moghul and I'm please to say ignore any below 4 stars. We had a warm welcome, hadn't booked but not a problem. The restaurant was comfortably busy. We had the buffet which was delicious. A good variety of dishes of starters, mains and sides. The heaters were regularly topped up with dishes and they were all tasty.

Our churches arranged a charity buffet evening here and all very good with a wide choice of dishes available. Vegetarians also catered for.

We here last night with my boyfriend and his brother and his wife to be , I had a mixed kebab for starters that was nice - but my chicken curry was a let down the chicken looked and tasted that it was out of a packet with just a coloured sauce over it , I was had a keema Nan and rice , that was nice , but the curry was a big let down

Went down for Valentines night not realising they have as an alternative on Tuesday a buffet. We went for this and it was excellent. Staff can't be more helpful, Clean and tidy and even have linen napkins. Can't recommend it enough. Great job guys.

Went there last night with the girls from work, some of us had the buffet and some had meals from the menu, the staff were very attentive, the food delicious as always, what a great night we had, thank you for another great night, very highly recommend, the buffet has a great choice of starters and main foods and £9.95, a great deal, nice to try different things, my favourite place on the island for Indian food
