What a delight. Popped in for coffee this morning on a warm sunny day. Tables placed for sun or shade which was handy for my dog to sit out of the sun. Lovely friendly staff. Delicious coffee and one of the best croissants I have had for a long time. The croissant was slightly warmed which made it even better. A lovely small carafe of chilled water was also placed on the table. Just what I needed on a warm day. Well done! Everything was just perfect. Very rare I say that in Brighton!

Have been in here before some time ago and enjoyed the visit, went back today for coffee to fill in some time before a visit to The Duke of Yorks for a Heritage Tour. Super coffee, friendly staff and delightfully dog friendly - met a lovely dog called Rosie who was there with her owner for coffee too. Great start to my day in Brighton. Makes such a change from the blandness and identikit format of the coffee chains.

Really nice little café (I've only just discovered after 4 years in Brighton the mo) but just wanted to leave a 5* review for the member of staff working today (Fri pm shift) for being the kindest and most helpful barista I've had the pleasure to be served by. Nice coffee and interior/venue, but definitely best aspect the really, really lovely staff member. Thank you for being so kind and friendly to your customers! (Sorry I didn't get your name to give you a mention here).

A lovely little retreat, a home from home. Every Saturday I come here for coffee and cake to feel grounded again and to come back to myself. I rent my apartment out at the weekends and when I’ve spent hours cleaning and scrubbing, I leave with my bag feeling a little exhausted, slightly disheveled and kinda homeless and disorientated. I have so much gratitude that I can come here and ‘land’ write and journal in lovely light peaceful surroundings, I’m always greeted with smiles and brought steaming hot comforting drinks and gorgeous cake. Thank you Moe.

Sorry, but thrash metal music on the PA, lukewarm coffee, no Marmite (marmalade was nice though), no butter (& foul margarine) and cash unfriendly (seriously, can't give change for a tenner for something choosing just under a fiver?) means I'll be choosing other options in the London Road area.

The service here is so slow it's ridiculous. You get the distinct impression that your custom is an inconvenience to them. I've been here quite a few times and it's always the same. You have to repeat your order several times because the person serving you isn't really listening. Then it takes forever for it to arrive, to the point where you think perhaps they've forgotten you. If you've ordered more than one thing they'll all come at different times. I think they're going for a "laid back" vibe but it comes across more as "couldn't care less".Other than that though, the food is mediocre and the coffee is pathetic, so if you're a masochist with a lot of time to kill then this is the place for you.

In the year and a bit that Moe's has been here I have spent a frankly ridiculous amount of time in there. I'm a third year student and I pretty much owe my degree to this place. Great coffee, lovely people and interesting tea and cake - recommend the green tea and the spiced apple cake, not to mention the almond croissants they stock. Incredible.

Went to Brighton for a little break during the 4-day Easter weekend. Arrived in the late afternoon on the actual bank holiday day and wasn't expecting anything other than a Costa coffee machine at a petrol station to serve me some caffeine.I was ready to drive around town for some time to see if I'm lucky to find a place serving customers this hour. This plan was totally ruined by Moes's location - it is on the corner of a big high street that is going down to sea front and which is impossible to miss if you are driving from London. I saw a few tables standing outside the cafe so rapidly started scanning the street for the nearest turn to park my car. "Ok, they probably don't have a lot of food left at this late on a holiday, but at least a cup of warm tea will renew all some energy spent driving from London through Easter traffic". This thought was also false as I was greeted with a decent selection of really fresh tasting cakes and bakes at the counter. It is either I was lucky to have a perfect almond croissant as the first one I have ever tasted in Brighton, or maybe they just have a perfect taste anywhere you buy them in that city. I didn't have a chance to find out, but instead came back to the same place the next day and had the same thing. It wasn't magical, or something that I have never tried in my life before. But I have a habit of coming back to the places that proved serving tasty food instead of searching for a new place that might prove otherwise. What I was really surprised to see, apologies, in the restroom, was a proper baby changing station with a bunch of cleaning and moisturising accessories next to it. For free obviously. Is Brighton that cosy or is it just that particular place? I don't know, but will come back and do recommend!

Nice little cafe at the circus. Good details like the tiles on the floor and the original door and unusual door handle, artist work on the walls to look at, outrageously large cakes on the counter...The coffee is sourced well and fair traded (Union I think) and prepared to your taste although a little on the pricey side. Moe's is a great place for people-watching from the large windows and perfectly placed for the cinema opposite.

I was supposed to be at the Duke of York's Picture house at 8, however, as always I was early. Two hours early. I wanted to go on a stroll with no particular destination. After a walkabout, it began to rain. Not that the rain bothered me that much, but I was tempted to warmth by the charm of this cafe. I walked to the till, Moe was there. He greeted me with the calmest manner as I rushed to scan the menu board above him. Not that there was anyone else waiting, but he just looked at me and said "Take your time." You know how people say take your time and then go off to do some other task, he didn't. He waited there as I asked questions, "Do you have snacks or sandwiches?" to which he replied that he had run out of sandwiches but could fix a variety of paninis instead, which was even better, if you ask me. I ordered a small glass of wine and sat down. There were only three tables, all of which were taken, so instead I sat on the counter overlooking the street, took out my notebook and started scribbling notes, reminders, etc. Every now and then in life, I catch myself doing "grown up" things, and when I was a child (sometimes I still think I am) I used to imagine that this is what it was like to be a grown up; well being a grown up at Moe's is an absolute delight. The panini was good, mozzarella, sun-dried tomatoes, and pesto. Lovely flavours. The red wine (French) was a bit dry but he did offer a Tempranillo that was fruitier with fuller body, but I'll try that the next time I go round. His regulars were just as welcoming as Moe. Not a bad way to end what started out as an aimless stroll!

I have passed Moes a number of times and always thought it looked enticing. The ambience and decor feel welcoming and today it was reasonably busy for wet Wednesday afternoon and thankfully I now had 5 minutes to indulge my curiosity. I ordered a skinny cappuccino but was told by the barista they only had semi skimmed! He then looked at the coffee in horror- not sure what was wrong - he smelt the milk but it seemed fine, but in the spirit of great customer service he asked if I could wait a few moments. It was literally seconds and he was back making me a cup within moments. The coffee was great not too bitter and not too sweet. I'll definitely return.

The gorgeous curved windows of Moe's at the Circus let in the most wonderful light. It's been fine weather lately, and I've found myself whiling away free mornings in a puddle of sunshine with friends, drinking coffee, then staying for for lunch.
