Lovely little farm tea shop. We had yummy sandwiches and delicious cake on this visit but will definitely be back to try the great looking afternoon tea we saw being served.

Excellent Locally sourced food and drink. Deb and the staff were so helpful and nothing was to much trouble. We all had Ploughmans and were full when we finished. Superb, Thanks Deb and the team

This is a lovely farm shop selling good quality products with lots of variety. You may even find a gift or 2 in there as well. Lovely food, great friendly staff plus the also sell alcohol that you can have with your meal. The front porch area is lovely to sit in when the sun is shining.

Today I visited the Farm shop/Tea Rooms for Mothers Day afternoon Tea & it was lovely, The new owners are so welcoming and have really made this space really cosy, beautiful sandwiches/cakes & scones. The prices are very reasonable too. Thank you for making my Mother's Day afternoon very special.

I have visited the farm shop multiple times over the last couple of months since the change in owners, and I have to say it is a really lovely place to visit. The food is always tasty and the farm shop is stocked full of yummy products! Will definitely continue to come here.

We have visited The Mockbeggar Farm Shop on probably three occasions, each time we have been there we have had to wait a long time for our food which is average. Not sure if I would return again.

With hit and miss reviews thought we give it a shot as exploring local area. Well stocked shop. Fresh strawberries etc.. went into café.. lots of choice We chatted then realised still not got our food in cafe. We all starving so bit disappointed when it did come... Positive suggestion - tell customers how long the wait is...

The farm shop is local to us and is great for a drop in for a snack. The food is first class and I am rather partial to the raspberry milk shake. Our young grandson (6) loves eating here. This is a little local gem that you could drive past without knowing what you are missing. I would agree that the farm shop does not look appealing froim the outside but would take issue about the contents for sale which offers a wide range of products,

The farm shop is very unappealing inside and tatty looking outside too. A huge amount of out of date groceries piled high on the shelves marked as reduced, some of the items we saw were over six months out of date. To be fair the very limited range of vegetables looked fresh and what we purchased and used were fine. There is a lot of wasted space and the farm shop itself is in need of some serious moderation, decoration and a good clean to say the least. There was nobody serving in the farm shop and we had to ask in the coffee shop to be served, a rather uninterested young lady came out of the coffee shop to take our money for our purchase and greeted us with “Yes!” and nothing more. I was so appalled by the bad manners I apologised for being an inconvenience to her and she quickly replied “Well I am busy you know!”, sarcastic remarks passed her by obviously. Wow this young lady needs to return to charm school as she clearly missed a few lessons in customer service skills; if she could even be bothered to turn up in the first place. We didn’t try the coffee shop as we would no doubt have been an inconvenience in there too. We won’t be going back again, we would rather support another local business that actually appreciates its customers coming in to spend money.

If you want an exercise in slick marketing and your food served fast, then go to McDonald's. This is a lovely little farm shop and cafe, had a great breakfast there and they served all sorts of local produce and bric-a-brac, very unusual, quirky, lovely.

My partner and I visited the Farm Shop, which we found a little disappointing but whilst there we each had a sandwich in its small tea room. The bread was tasty, fresh and thickly sliced - you could really get your teeth into it. I had a cheese and onion sandwich and although the cheese was good, the onion was virtually non-existent. My partner had ham which was nice and lean. Although the café was empty, the service was slower than I would have expected and we had to wait quite a while for the sandwiches to be brought to the table. However, we weren't in any hurry and the lady who was running the café was very friendly.

Popped in to the tea room with my 4 year old for some lunch. Food was fantastic and everyone was very friendly. It was also nice and relaxed so good for young children. I will be returning very soon! The farm shop and microbrewery are also very good as well.

Really good value for money. The carrot cake was lovely and the sandwiches were fresh and tasty. Slightly slow service but she was on her own and made it all fresh when we ordered. Lovely decor. Would definitely visit again!

Called in as passing at lunchtime. It was my first visit. The food was very nice but not exceptional. The place itself had huge potential to be a little goldmine but sadly the place was cluttered, untidy and dusty. As well as the tearoom, there is a farm shop selling good quality foodstuffs and they also sell a range of shabby chic items and other decorative bits and bobs. None of these were displayed to their best advantage to encourage browsing and sales. Just needs an investment of time to clean, declutter and merchandise attractively. Doesn't really need money spending on it - just making the most of what's already there.

We arrived at 11am on a Tuesday. There was already one couple having tea. The tea room itself is a room attached to the farm shop. It's small and the tables are rather crammed in, but as it was almost empty this wasn't a problem.

First visit. Random call in for coffee. Very nice girl serving albeit on her own bad sadly spent a lot of time making personal phone calls and had it glued to her ear when she served our drinks and again when I went to pay. She was making hand signs to me while on phone checking what we had.

Food was lovely, two jackets with dollops in sauce ( thats beans for posh people). Service was good but I wasn't pleased that I had to sit next to dog food tins while eating!

We thought we'd have a walk out there, have a cuppa and look in the Farm Shop. I looked on line and it showed the opening time as 9am. We got there at 9.15am to find a sign at the gate showing the opening time as 9.30am. We waited until 9.45am and nobody arrived, so we left. I must say, from the two 5* reports, I was expecting a little more. Looking in through the very dirty windows, I saw a room the size of our Livingroom, in which they've manged to squeeze both the Cafe and the Farm shop. Both looked unexciting and slightly grubby. I won't be bothering again..

The food was nothing special but edible and filled a hole at lunch time. Warmed up part baked rolls filled generously with a lovely cup of tea. Service was friendly but we had to wait a while to get attention to pay at the end. It wasn't a particularly warm environment and smelling animal foods whilst eating wasn't overly pleasant but this was a pleasant quiet lunch that we considered average.

Two of my good friends where visiting from Wiltshire and we chose the Boathouse. Just to make sure, I called them to check it was fine to have my Therapy Assistance with us and I was told this was fine and I booked a table for 3 a 2 p.m. When we arrived we were asked to sit in side booths rather than the restaurant. It was 30 minutes before our orders were taken and whilst my friends food came out correctly, my order was incorrect. Because of the time it took to actually order and receive our food, I chose not to say anything. It's clearly a very popular place to eat, but we were put in a corner, almost out of the way, which is exactly what I'd hope we'd avoid with my Therapy Assistance dog and bearing in mind my friends needed to travel back to Wiltshire, the timings were too long. The young lady who served drinks was brilliant though and she served the best gin and tonic with appropriate fruits added but ensuring beforehand I had no fruit allergies. I doubt I'd go back again, but I'm glad it's thriving given the current economic climate!

There are two Costa Coffees at Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre (one inside and one outside). This is a review of the one outside as it was the first one we saw after parking the car. It it a light, airy establishment with friendly, helpful staff. There is seating both inside and outside and the tables were cleared as soon as the customers had left. The usual Costa drinks and snacks were available and our coffee was up to the usual good Costa standard.
