I had a lovely dinner in the miya with my family and the second we walked through the door we were greeted by a very charming host who took us up to our beautiful table, we were looked after all night with Immaculate food and amazing cocktails, the service could not have been any better me and my family are very impressed and will definitely be back in the future.

Hidden Gem in the middle of Aylesbury, drove pass so many time and never notice it until a friend recommended it. First thought was "i don't like sushi!!", but after looking at the menu, we thought lets give it try, and WOW, i was surprise that there was so many cooked Japanese items that i never have heard of. The sushi rolls are a must, butchermen roll with chicken teriyaki and sirloin beef is out of this world, also try the seared salmon sashimi if you are not too sure on totally raw fish. its in a old police station just opposite the theatre and plenty of parking next door. Service was Great as it can be on a very busy Saturday evening. we will be back for sure. we would like to try the Kareoke Room next time:)

Expensive, but worth every penny. Just the best Japanese food. The tuna soft and succulent, the beef absolutely incredible. Frankly, it was prefect. The drinks were interesting and the service excellent. Really enjoyed it.

Great selection of cocktails. I highly recommend the velvet espresso martini. Well done to Dillon for the skills !!! 👌 Lunch menu's is great with good selection for vegetarians and good portions with the bento box.

We saw 4.6 evaluation on google and decided to come here, however for our disappointment: - First we order chicken teriaki, which is in the Main dishes in the menu, however be aware you pay £19 for 5 small pieces of chicken no sides nothing else not even a small salad...the chicken wasnt glazed as supposed, very watery, and nothing special for the chicken... 19 pounds for a piece of vhicken breast - Due to realising doesnt come with any side we ordered a japanese steamed rice side which when arrived it was a basmati prepared in a way that sticks... not at all japanese rice, we are japanese food addicted and my husband is a japanese so we recognise easily. - the curry we ordered was okay average flavor, sabe as wasabi restauranti

My husband and I have been going to MIYA for years now, always enjoyed it and never had any issues. We visited on a Sunday back in December and we noticed a few things were different I.e the green tea now comes in a basic white china cup instead of the Japanese style & the chopsticks are now cheap single use ones. Nothing major but it was disappointing to see. We then visit again with friends on a Saturday evening in February… the service was awful. I’ve never had bad service at MIYA but the staff who I’ve experienced before with no issues, were so rude. It wasn’t busy and we’d eaten our starters and our mains had come out before our drinks did. In the meantime, other customers started to arrive & order their drinks (cocktails) and were receiving them in good time. I asked the waitress if our drinks were coming as our mains were now here and she snapped at me “they’ll get here when they get here” Normally I wouldn’t chase but as I said we’d already finished our starters and other tables who came in 15-20 mins after us had received their drinks. Cheap single use chopsticks remained along with other little cut backs/ changes - a real shame considering it’s not a cheap place. Food is still good but I don’t think I’ll be coming back as often after the last 2 visits.

Very yummy food, with a large selection of both raw or cooked fish, along with vegetarian option too. Very friendly band attentive staff. Parking right next door. Price isn't too bad considering a Japanese restaurant. They have a large bar down stairs with a variety of cocktails.

Not real Japanese food, and food was quite lacking in seasoning. They poured bottled water as we arrived which we hadn't asked for but were charged. Food and drinks way overpriced and service charge added without asking. There is a bit of an attitude in this establishment, can't quite put my finger on it, but they are certainly nothing special. This is Aylesbury! Not London. I have had far, far better for less in London with a better ambiance.

This Japanese restaurant located in the town center, offers a fantastic dining experience with a great ambiance and delicious food. Their takeaway service seems to be well-executed, with excellent packaging and presentation. While the prices may be slightly higher compared to some other places, they still offer good value, especially considering they're more affordable than major chain Japanese restaurants. Overall, Mia seems like a perfect spot for a weekend dinner for those who enjoy oriental cuisine.

First time for us and very satisfied. A highly recommended place, good food and good service. One of us was glucose intolerant and had no problem with the gluten free menu. We will return for sure.

Visited the Korean BBQ tonight and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent and fantastic value for money. Service was efficient and friendly too.

First time visit to Miya. The location is a rather dull urban roundabout in Aylesbury, and the external appearance of the building, which has the whiff of an ex municipal facility - a library, or council office perhaps (local historians will put me right, I'm sure) - do not set a high expectation, it's brilliantly convenient for pre-theatre drinks or dinner as it's literally across the road from Aylesbury's other prize destination, the Waterside theatre. So having successfully resisted the temptation to judge this particular book by its cover, I have to say the reality was a very long way indeed from initial appearances. The service was as one would expect, efficient and cordial, but the food - wow, it was fantastically good. Encouraged by another TripAdvisor review (thank you, whoever you are!), I went for the Miso Cod Fillet which is outstanding (if you like spicy asian / Thai fusion - then again, if you don't, this is not the restaurant for you). We've lived in this part of the World for some time and are now rather irritated that we've not discovered this treasure sooner. My wife and I were slightly frustrated that we were on a deadline to get the theatre, so ours was a shorter visit than we would have liked, but this first visit was sufficient for us to conclude that we will be returning.

Had the buffet this afternoon and whilst pricey, the food was well worth the money. Have been here a few times and am never disappointed. Top class all round!

Had an amazing meal on Saturday evening with my visiting family. Everyone enjoyed the lovely food & atmosphere. We’ll be returning on their next visit. I might pop in before they visit though. Fantastic

Just stunning. Food is delicious. Staff are friendly and polite and the atmosphere perfect. The food came quickly and was divine. It’s not often you see Japanese restaurants outside of big cities and this is a hidden gem!!!

This is the second time we have visited Miya (once in 2023 and then now) and on both ocassions the food and service has been good. There is a wide range of very tasty small plates and main dishes to choose from and all were presented in a delightful way. I'd recommend this place for Sushi and also for couples, groups and special events, as they have plenty of room and at least one large private room.

We were sceptical but decided to give it a go after reading the reviews. Glad we did! The food was delicious hot and served promptly. The staff were professional and courteous and we had a lovely evening all in all. You have our repeat custom.

Came here for my wife's birthday and the sushi was exceptional (as were the cocktails!). Great service too.

Horrible experience. Went for a family lunch today, Sunday, and they told us that we could choose to have the buffet or menu a là carte. My partner decided to have a la carte and my daughter and I buffet. After getting the food the manager of the restaurant told us that we could not sit together and my partner has to sit on a separate table because he had a different service. I was completely puzzle of this behaviour as both option where offered when we were sitting together. There is no policy in the menu for this and it finish ruining our lunch as my daughter got upset and finished paying 70 pounds for a terrible experience. Do not recommend at all.

First, the food in this restaurant is superb - the service has been hit and miss during the near 4 years we’ve been visiting. This last six months though, both the restaurant and bar service below what we expected. Yesterday evening we popped in for a drink -the lady was truly busy, apologetic that she couldn’t serve us immediately and we told her that was okay. Large volumes of orders were delivered and having told us a couple of minutes after a ten minute wait she would be with us soon, we were expecting as she returned to be served - except she bumped into an old acquaintance and forgot we were there. Five minutes later we gave up. We won’t be returning. She’s not the only person to offer poor service, the main bar man is not particularly attentive either.

Our first night out since our little one arrived, and we were on the hunt for something special. After heaps of recommendations from friends, this place really didn't disappoint. The sushi dishes were seriously top-notch. We had 7 dishes, a bottle of wine, and 2 glasses of Prosecco, all for less than £100. very good value in my opinion.

Very good choice of Japanese food, much more than sushi, and really delicious. Some dishes were given a nice twist. We had some rolls a nigiri to start, katsu chicken and sirloin stir fry for mains. Good value for what we had and pub prices for drinks, thanks.

Had the most amazing takeaway again tonight - visit here regularly but never go to the effort to review them. The sushi is always so fresh, we live in Oxfordshire but it’s well worth the journey to collect it. Thanks Miya!

Came with a friend to try this restaurant. This was my first time and she had been before. Food was tasty and ok. Staff and atmosphere were so so. Could be a bit more engaging and welcoming.

Food was really good here, both had the sirloin steak which was a little overcooked for us but still tasty, tako sashimi was amazing and so was the beef tataki (although still a little overcooked for my liking) staff were really friendly and great but a little slow however it was quite busy when we went. It is expensive and the portions are quite small, plus having to actually pay for the rice/noodles with your main is a little disappointing but it was a nice experience

London prices, motorway service station service: The food is petty good at Miya, having a varied menu with authentically tasting dishes. The atmosphere fair, but they could make more of the room to create an intimate setting. The service,however, is awful (hence the two stars). Staff with low personal standards, poorly trained and an absent management. It doesn’t matter how well the cooks do, if the waitress just throws the food down and forgets half the order. Management and owners need to get a grip of the front of house.

We finally got the opportunity to visit Miya, for the Sunday buffet. We were seated and explained that the hot dishes were to be ordered through your waiter and everything else was out on display. We made our way over to the buffet table and was greeted by dry, room temperature sushi that looked like it had been out for hours. This doesn’t really fill you with confidence when eating raw fish. The nigiri looked dry and shrivelled and it didn’t look like they were going to replace it any time soon even though the menu states the buffet is on till 4 (we came at 3). During our visit when we wanted to order any of the offered hot food we had to call the waiter over. Not once did the waiter come over unaided. But it was apparent they were more interested in talking to each other rather than doing their job. When we finally got round to receiving the hot dishes they were bland, dry and stale tasting. And again this doesn’t fill you with confidence when eating high risk foods. Overall, we would rate the food 1 out of 5 and the service a 0 out of 5.

Service was great however when we visited a few months ago the food was a little greasy and not too flavorful, but perhaps we just visited on an 'off' night. We will return to give it another go.

Delicious sushi and main meals. Staff were out of this world: Cameron, Filip, Ovi and Dillon make the dream team. Great drinks too, food a little pricey but varied and full of vegetarian and vegan options. Lovely atmosphere. Would recommend to book in advance for weekends at the Japanese.

Tasteless nigri, mayo on all salty sushi ( not kewpie). Lovely soft shell crab. When asked about the fish the waiter said we are a long way from the sea. Service was slow. London prices for a not London standard.

We arrived to an empty bar and hung around for several minutes while someone’s takeaway order was sorted. Once we were taken upstairs the service was prompt and the waiter kindly told us we might be ordering a bit much. We ordered the scallops and crab small plates. £27 for 3 scallops and 3 crab tempura, but they were perfectly fine. However, the large sushi sharing platter for £40 was bad on so many fronts: the rice was overly salty; the fish was dry and dull and mayonnaise had been sprayed over much of the nigiri. Why??! We left half our meal, complained about the quality of the food and we’re told that we’d already eaten too much of it and, we are “a long way away from the sea”. Steer clear if you actually enjoy decent sushi.

Wonderful little gem in Ayelsbury, we arrived just as the kitchen was closing and staff were happy to accommodate. Food was phenomenal 6stars. Atmosphere was social, quite a few groups. Food was very reasonably priced, I'd of certainly paid a lot more for the quality I received. Looking forward to going back again as soon as im in the area.

Food was okay, but not authenticate. We also felt rushed by the staff and didn't have time to fully enjoy the experience. The cocktails were great, however. Overall, not worth the higher than average price.

Delicious sushi! The menu does look a bit expensive, but the portions are generous and make for a great shared dining experience. The wakame seaweed salad is one of my favourite dishes. We tend to get a few rolls, some sashimi, and a rice and noodle dish to bulk it out. We all left very full and satisfied. We dined as a trio, and the bill came to around £85 (no alcohol).

I was very lucky to be treated to lunch here today and we had the Korean BBQ. How have I not heard about this before? Fantastic food and service and would thoroughly recommend. Not that I would ever do the food justice but I am currently googling korean BBQ recipes.

Theyve opened Jassies korean bbq inside this place. So as from a Korean household and having tried many Korean restaurants in the UK, this restaurant is missing the point. Great service but if you have tried Korean food before then you'll be very disappointed with this place but if you haven't tried Korean food before then this will be interesting for you. As I said great service but this is definitely not Korean food. In addition as attached on the photo you can see the printed numbers on the meat, they wouldn't replace it and said it's fine to carry on and eat it. It's the principle of it.

Tried Miya for the first time to celebrate a birthday. Staff were all really friendly and attentive. Food was beautifully presented and delicious. It was good to see the restaurant busy on a Thursday night and we will definitely return

Always a great experience with the food and service. Only down side is that the Google opening times and wasn't accurate as Friday they close at 3pm but currently listed on Google as opening from 12-11pm so we got that wrong

Beautiful Food But! we arrived at 7.30 on a Friday night - i’ve got to be honest there was nobody in the bar & the whole area smelt really stale & unloved. Somebody finally arrived & made us a drink - We went upstairs to the main restaurant (school dining hall came to mind when we entered) there was zero atmosphere & when we sat down i looked up at the light fittings that were full of cobwebs. I ordered a glass of rose & we ordered a sharing sushi platter & two main dishes. We eat out a lot so know a good place when we see it . Whilst the sushi was delicious the main courses were so average. Staff walked past our table at least 4 times looking at the uncleared glasses & used plates on our table & ignoring them. Our bill was £150 for two people - wouldn’t put this in a top London restaurant - v average main courses with v cheap ingredients served in a restaurant with no atmosphere. I am afraid we won’t be returning & I honestly wouldn’t recommend this place unless it gets a makeover, a good clean @ a new team of servers.

A nice restaurant with good sushi however it is expensive. The chairs were uncomfortable as we were put on a high table.

Beautiful food!! We are lucky enough to be able to eat out a lot so it's rare to come across flavours that you have never tasted or equally familiar flavours just done better! Everything was a taste sensation, the duck rice rolls and melt in the mouth gyoza were a highlight. Amazing place! We will be returning to try more of the menu. It is also really good value as the portions are very generous, we ended up taking a doggy bag home. Unfortunately I didn't take any photos as I just wanted to devour the food!!!!

This place is the hidden gem of Aylesbury. The food was out of this world. The atmosphere and decor is another level. If you want a superb meal with a difference or you want to impress Miya is THE place.

First time trying Sushil and found it very enjoyable..nice bar downstairs which was very quiet , great range of spirits and cocktails . Upstairs restaurant was very busy , everyone enjoyed themselves. Food was excellently displayed and very tasty . Definitely going back

My first trip here and the last! I love sushi and Japanese food it’s my favourite! The food is superb! The service is terrible! Adding a service charge without even asking is just rude! Apparently this is the norm? Told that we all had to have the buffet when one child wouldn’t eat anything on there and made to feel like we were going to stealing from them! Infact it was even said to us, “well we better not see her eating from the buffet”. Shocking! Just shocking!

Food was lovely and the valentine's set menu was a great idea. The fact the seating is split in to multiple smaller rooms gives it a very cozy feel while there, which is added to by the relaxed music. Will happily be back in the future!

An absolutely amazing place and excellent service in teaching my scout troop how to make sushi. The owner was very knowledgeable and brilliant with the scouts. And the food is exquisite. I highly recommend Miya as a go to restaurant in Aylesbury.

Really nice, if a little pricier than expected. The katsu curry was legit, delicious. The fries gyoza was nice but I prefer steamed. The dragon sushi roll was lovely and presented really well. Fast and polite service, stylish surroundings 👍

Ordered a take away, they waited 45 mins before telling us they'd lost the order and it would be another 30 mins. Unsurprising we took the refund and gave up. Don't recommend trusting the take away.

One of the better places to eat in Aylesbury, but a few small things meant it was a little short of top notch. Only given cheap disposable chop sticks, tempura prawns had absorbed so much oil they made us feel sick after one or two, and the steak strips had a lot of sinew which made them borderline inedible with only chopsticks. The tori kara age was gorgeous however, as was the duck and sparkling sake. Fantastic venue and service well, will probably return at some point for the teppanyaki.

Delicious food! And friendly staff . I visited Miya for lunch , and the lady waitress was very nice and helpful. The food was ever so fresh and well presented.

Sushi were okay, but dessert creme brulee was burnt. Service was okay till the moment when the waitress took the sparkle from dessert. She literally grabed it from us, saying that you are not allowed to have it and we should say about it before. It was my sister's birthday, so the surprise was ruined. She took it even before we made any pictures.

The food here is always consistently very very good and the overall setting is lovely. Particular favourite is the soft shell crab roll but all of the sushi and sashimi is very good.

Avoid at all costs. Was asked to move my car mid meal as the MANAGER wanted to park her car in my space. I did with no problem and as I went downstairs and got in my car was confronted by said manager who verbally...

Friendly service and top quality food. Good choices for vegetarians. The interior is really nice. Great place to celebrate special occasions and just what Aylesbury needs.

We only discovered this Japanese restaurant this week as we wanted somewhere to eat pre theatre. The food was delicious, tempura prawns so soft and succulent. For mains. Malc had the Katsu curry and I had sirloin steak with a dressing. Both were authentic and delicious, portion sizes were large - will definitely be returning. Highly recommended.

Thank you for a brilliant night. Had a work event for about 40 people. Safe to say it was enjoyed by all and food was good seeing that people went for 2nd servings. Service was brilliant ensuring that the guests always had drinks. Will definitely be holding more events next year.

We absolutely love the food here and the decor is lovely. (But please sort your brownie out. It was very disappointing).

Amazing space the food was great and service was just right

We visited for dinner, the venue was nicely decorated and in a good central location. Staff were very friendly and service was overall very good. Food came out of the kitchen promptly and we didn’t have to wait long. A broad spectrum of wines available, we enjoyed several very good glasses with our meal. We enjoyed Vege Tempura and Chicken Karage to start. Tempura was great but sadly the chicken was was really pretty overdone/under seasoned and tough to chew. Mains were Chicken Teriyaki and Prawn Katsu Curry. Curry good 😊 but sadly chicken overcooked. Desert was Creme Brulee and Espresso Martini 🍸. Martini was great but the Brulee was burnt and a bit bland. So close to being a perfect meal, just a bit more care required on some of the cooking. Hopefully we’ll be back at some point to try again.

What a brilliant place...oh my days..try the Cod main course..probably the best fish dish I have EVER eaten. The staff are fabulous . Everyone at our table was happy with their food, a marvellous choice on the menu for everyone's taste Simply brilliant 👏 . Can't wait to go back

I have allergies, they took them seriously and accommodated my allergies so I could eat a lot of the menu. Definitely one to go back to again soon.
