One of the best western style sushi places you could get in England. Their rolls were so good. Everything we had was amazing! Karaage (Japanese Fried chicken) was freshly made! Spacious seats, friendly and attentive staff! 9/10!

A phenomenal restaurant and excellent quality food, however I would strongly urge you not to order via Just Eat & collect the food yourself. There was a 35 minute delay to our food meaning it was cold by the time it reached us.

Really enjoyed the meal. Staff were attentive. The only reason I gave the atmosphere 3 stars is because it was very quiet when we visited.

Disappointing visit for birthday celebration. The staff weren't welcoming, and our waitor was bordering on rude when interacting with us. I noticed a white board which could be seen in the staff area saying "remember to introduce yourself to customers" .. clearly wasnt being followed! The food was quite basic with little flavour, including the expensive sirloin steak. The prices don't reflect the quality at all. Won't be returning, despite being local and Japanese cuisine being one of our favourites (just not here!)

We chose Miya for our Club Xmas Meal and were not disappointed! There were 21 in our group and everyone enjoyed the excellent food in lovely surroundings and the friendly and efficient staff. We will definitely be back!

We ate in the downstairs Korean grill restaurant this time and it did not disappoint. This is still one of my favourite places in Aylesbury.

We came here to celebrate a birthday. We phoned up prior to ensure the building wont close and its just the kitchen that closes, they confirmed this was correct and we could still eat. This was until arrival when we were notified the whole building will shut. Terrible customer service, misinformed staff and all in all wont be back again

Miya is usually one of my absolute favourite restaurants but I had a disappointing visit today. I was there with friends to celebrate my birthday and we opted for the lunchtime buffet. The buffet is advertised to run from 12-4pm so we booked in for 3pm. At this time most of the buffet was depleted and it was not being replenished. It was clear that it had been out since 12 and some of it was not particularly fresh. When we pointed this out we were told this this was to avoid food wastage, but we felt it was reasonable that those who arrive at 3pm ought to get the same quality/freshness and selection as those arriving at 12. A few items were refreshed at our request, but it was still a disappointing experience overall for a celebratory meal. The coffees were all pretty much the same filter coffee an not as ordered, and the dessert was a thin slice of supermarket raspberry swirl cheesecake and poor quality vanilla ice cream which was a shame given the usual high standard of the restaurant. Finally it was a shock to be charged £12 service automatically applied to the bill when the service wasn’t great, and it was a buffet service. A disappointing experience for my birthday meal with friends 😔

Food was tasty however the service was poor - got our order wrong x2 and did not have an allergen menu for the nut allergy on our table which was alarming. Staff did not seem to know what they were doing and definitely need more training.

Food was okay, but we felt rushed by the staff and didn't have time to fully enjoy the meal. Cocktails were great. Not worth the higher than average price.

We have been here multiple times and have never been disappointed. Have there been minor issues? Yes - like all places. But I can say that we are proud to call this place our favorite sushi place.

We came here as a small group and it was amazing food and the service was 10/10, filip and DJ were wonderful, made very good cocktails. Recommend if you want to celebrate here!

No Sushi bar in operation. Food was OK, but for the price we have had way better and fresher tasting Sushi along with the benefit of watching it made. Loads of mayo, nigiri with pre-loaded with wasabi and rice seemed not to have any seasoning/vinegar. Drinks came out at different times, draft beer and glass of wine? Waiting staff is very young and can't answer any simple questions on the menu which highlights they have not learnt it. Mixed seating, raised and low, with bar stool and high table and wall bench on one side opposite normal chair. We watched a group request a table change as they were with older people that could not use a high chair. We had very high expectations, and although nothing terrible, I would probably not return.

My husband and I had a wonderful meal here. The staff were friendly, professional and attentive. The food was delicious and very well presented. We will definitely go back there and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

The food was okay - nothing to write home about. The biggest negative was that we had to argue with a waiter about one of our dishes, as they hadn't made it properly (brought us tempura instead of panko coated - katsu curry dish). The waiter insisted that's the way it is supposed to be, and even went and checked with the kitchen, even though in the menu it says otherwise. I was made to feel unreasonable for insisting on having it made properly. It looks very chic, and the staff are friendly and smiling. The music choice struck an odd note, and was a little too loud. Perhaps we went on an off day as I'd heard good things about it.

We went for the buffet Sunday lunch. Really great! I would recommend going when the buffet starts to ensure there are all the options available. The duck gyozas weren’t as quickly replenished as everything else when I went. The staff were lovely and tentative. It would be good to have a vegan option for dessert other than sorbet. But all options in the buffets were really good.

Having had great food from this place in the past I was looking forward to a return trip with my two children. I unfortunately cannot review the food on this occasion because we left within 20 minutes. The service at Miya was embarrassingly bad. I actually felt sorry for the chef who has delivered great dishes previously - the whole experience was let down by their front of house team. Having booked a table for 3 for a Saturday night and travelled 15 miles to the restaurant, the bemused greetings person looked at their bookings sheet and must have realised they made a mistake and overbooked the main dining area, because we were shown to a large sunken table for 10, in a separate area which is clearly designed for large groups. This meant not only being placed next to a large party of ladies (who seemed to be having a great time at their fellow diners' expense), but in an area where getting the attention of the waiters seemed particularly challenging. We then waited approximately 20 minutes with only a glass of water for company, and no sign of anyone to check on us or to take our orders. At this point we decided enough was enough and we voted with our feet and left. If a restaurant is going to command high prices for its food, you would expect the waiter/waitressing staff to be commensurate with such a premium establishment. As things stand there is no way we will be returning anytime soon. A real shame.

I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff at Miya who made my special day amazing- especially to Dillon and Phillip who were friendly, funny and made us feel welcome. We got seated at a Chabudai which added a nice authentic feel to the night. The food was well presented, the portions generous and everything tasted amazing. The starters were yummy and for main I had the duck which was cooked perfectly and we had two fussy 16 year old who said the katsu chicken was one of the best they've tasted. Desert was also very good. Also thank you for the complimentary bottle of champagne and meal

Lovely place for an evening meal, came here as a double date having only really had this type of food from places like Yo sushi or Wagamama and we were all super impressed with the quality and portion sizes, as well as attentive and knowledgable staff Food was delicious Not a cheap place to eat but 100% worth the little extra you pay

Unagi sashimi was excellent, tuna hosimaki was fine but taco nigiri (octopus) was like rubber and inedible.

Birthday treat with kids had the teppanyaki table for 12 of us. Alfred our chef was really funny and made such a fuss of the kids they loved it. Staff really attentive, food excellent, definitely recommend

First time experiencing the Sunday buffet. Lots of food on offer with a variation of sushi and hot food. Buffet was always topped up with fresh. Waiters and waitresses very helpful and polite. Would go again 😊

Been here a few times last year with my family (8 people) and it was lovely so we tried to book again for this month and we were told we needed a £10 deposit, annoying but seems to be the way a lot of restaurants go now, the issue I have is they wanted us to pre-order. Very strange and really put off, who knows what they want before they go and what a faf that creates. Why is it an issue for a restaurant to accommodate 8 people ordering off their regular menu. Needless to say we will go elsewhere.

I had a lovely dinner in the miya with my family and the second we walked through the door we were greeted by a very charming host who took us up to our beautiful table, we were looked after all night with Immaculate food and amazing cocktails, the service could not have been any better me and my family are very impressed and will definitely be back in the future.

Hidden Gem in the middle of Aylesbury, drove pass so many time and never notice it until a friend recommended it. First thought was "i don't like sushi!!", but after looking at the menu, we thought lets give it try, and WOW, i was surprise that there was so many cooked Japanese items that i never have heard of. The sushi rolls are a must, butchermen roll with chicken teriyaki and sirloin beef is out of this world, also try the seared salmon sashimi if you are not too sure on totally raw fish. its in a old police station just opposite the theatre and plenty of parking next door. Service was Great as it can be on a very busy Saturday evening. we will be back for sure. we would like to try the Kareoke Room next time:)

Expensive, but worth every penny. Just the best Japanese food. The tuna soft and succulent, the beef absolutely incredible. Frankly, it was prefect. The drinks were interesting and the service excellent. Really enjoyed it.

Great selection of cocktails. I highly recommend the velvet espresso martini. Well done to Dillon for the skills !!! 👌 Lunch menu's is great with good selection for vegetarians and good portions with the bento box.

We have just had arguably the best buffet ever We went with some friends on a double date and did not know what to expect but the food and service surpassed are expectations A great meal in a fantastic location Thoroughly enjoyable

We saw 4.6 evaluation on google and decided to come here, however for our disappointment: - First we order chicken teriaki, which is in the Main dishes in the menu, however be aware you pay £19 for 5 small pieces of chicken no sides nothing else not even a small salad...the chicken wasnt glazed as supposed, very watery, and nothing special for the chicken... 19 pounds for a piece of vhicken breast - Due to realising doesnt come with any side we ordered a japanese steamed rice side which when arrived it was a basmati prepared in a way that sticks... not at all japanese rice, we are japanese food addicted and my husband is a japanese so we recognise easily. - the curry we ordered was okay average flavor, sabe as wasabi restauranti

My husband and I have been going to MIYA for years now, always enjoyed it and never had any issues. We visited on a Sunday back in December and we noticed a few things were different I.e the green tea now comes in a basic white china cup instead of the Japanese style & the chopsticks are now cheap single use ones. Nothing major but it was disappointing to see. We then visit again with friends on a Saturday evening in February… the service was awful. I’ve never had bad service at MIYA but the staff who I’ve experienced before with no issues, were so rude. It wasn’t busy and we’d eaten our starters and our mains had come out before our drinks did. In the meantime, other customers started to arrive & order their drinks (cocktails) and were receiving them in good time. I asked the waitress if our drinks were coming as our mains were now here and she snapped at me “they’ll get here when they get here” Normally I wouldn’t chase but as I said we’d already finished our starters and other tables who came in 15-20 mins after us had received their drinks. Cheap single use chopsticks remained along with other little cut backs/ changes - a real shame considering it’s not a cheap place. Food is still good but I don’t think I’ll be coming back as often after the last 2 visits.
