Good Sri Lankan/south Indian restaurant in Aylesbury. Loved the idiyappam, mutton curry and mutton chukka.

We had an amazing meal in the restaurant, we loved it so much we ordered takeaway the next day! Would definitely recommend. The online delivery service menu does not include some of the amazing things on the menu on the restaurant though so eat in or look at their menu online before ordering. Loads of vegetarian and vegan options, we loved the gobi manchurian 🤤

Go here. South Indian food is amazing and the staff are fantastic, polite and attentive. I've had lots of experience with Indian restaurants but I'd not eaten South Indian food before. Some South Indian and Sri Lankan friends of mine introduced me to it at work in London. I was hooked, and I was over the moon to find this gem of a restaurant in Aylesbury. I can't recommend it enough. Best to dine in to keep the Dosa crispy. Takeaway is available but oddly not everything on the menu is listed on the delivery apps. great food and something different, fantastic service and inexpensive. My favourite place to eat in Aylesbury. Note: lots of meat dishes but a great vegetarian selection too.

We usually order from here 2-3 times a month and have always enjoyed the food. However, our most recent experience was disappointing. The chicken curry portion was noticeably smaller, almost half the usual amount, compared to what we used to get. While the quality of the food is still good, the portion size really needs improvement to match the standards they previously had. We hope they address this issue, as we’ve always loved ordering from here.

What a lovely restaurant. We have been longing for good South Asian food in Aylesbury, dosas in particular, and now we have it. The restaurant was still finding its feet the first time we visited, but today the food was simply outstanding, especially the Lovely crisp dosas.

Very nice food, pretty authentic!

They forgot main course in the order, I phoned they said the guy had collected and was coming to deliver that was 40mins ago! trying to have a few friends over for a take away and we're sitting here waiting for it to turn up! won't be ordering from here again. not even an apology when I phoned.

After getting a takeaway from this restaurant and being impressed by it, we decided to dine in this time, though they do close at 3pm for a short time, we entered around 2.40pm and we were still allowed in to have a meal which I was surprised about, we were greeted and sat down, given enough time to choose our food and advice given if needed. The service provided was great and the food arrived quickly, I had to really give compliments on the staff for staying behind for us and not rushing our meal despite being closed. The prices were very reasonable and the waitress was chatty and very friendly. Highly recommended to visit this restaurant, a 5 star experience.

Chicken biryani was overpriced and had one tiny piece of chicken in it.

It’s our go to restaurant now. Every time the children are with their Dad we have the conversation, would it be naughty ? 🤣. Lovely staff and venue and honestly the food is absolutely divine. Such good flavours and they’ll adapt the spice level to suit. It can be quite spicy but they’ll point this out to you and offer led chilli. Anyway that will do because the boys are out and we’re I’m out eat again. 🙌 Kotthu roti idli Manchurian devilled mutton, Brinjal curry and the Dosas are all so tasty. The menu can be a little confusing if you’re not used to the style of fold but it’s absolutely worth persevering, you won’t regret it. We normally spend 20-25 per head and have lunch for next day too. Great value. Enjoy and thanks Ceylon Dosa for such amazing food.

Been here twice with my Sri Lanka wife. Excellent food with a nice level of spice. We've tried a number of different dosas and kottu roti too. Staff always pleasant and accommodating. Would highly recommend.

Authentic Sri Lankan taste! We went in on a whim and were pleasantly surprised by what the restaurant had to offer. Taste: Ceylon Dosa serves authentic South Indian/ Sri Lankan food. We loved the fiery hot Rassam Vadai, Idi appam (string hoppers) and Ceylon Dosa. The sambal (dry coconut chutney) was superb. 5/5 Ambience: Relaxed atmosphere with lots of families on a Thursday evening. 5/5. May I suggest including some peppy Indian songs in the playlist to liven up the mood please? Service: Friendly and smiling staff. Service is very good to a fault! They are very accommodating to their customers. We saw them changing the table arrangements to suit larger groups. 5/5 Suggestion- Please don't go overboard in accomodating all requests. Moving tables and chairs midway through the service may disturb other patrons. And do go around to check how the customers feel about the food! It's a customary restaurant etiquette, I think. Price: Decent. Affordable. VFM. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner and will gladly visit again! And would be happy to sing your praises amongst our friends in Aylesbury! Best wishes!

Food was fantastic! The Ceylon Dosa and the Masala Dosa were two of the best dishes I have ever tasted in my life. Plenty of vegan options are available. The staff were very kind and smiley.

Best crispy dosa I have ever tasted. Price is good too. Chicken noodles are really amazing plus they have good customer service.. Meals are halal as well. Can't fault them in any way, perfect.

Atmosphere is good, service is ok but the food was pathetic.we ordered mix veg.Mix veg was half cooked they have provided salan when we consumed our half meal.

We waited 25 minutes before we were offered a drink or menu . We then waited again for us to order . We had our beers and starters which were not very hot and very greasy . We then waited nearly one hour before we got our mains which were just warm but by this time we were hungry . It wasn’t the best food , too spicy for me to finish the meal . It wasn’t expensive but the food and service was not good . Also for a Saturday night there were so many children being allowed to wander around . Not the relaxing meal we wanted for our date night !

The best South Indian food we have had anywhere, so fresh and the staff were lovely.

The taste of the fried rice was metallic. The same meat had been used in all 4 dishes that I had ordered. No taste no authenticity seen. This is NOT AT ALL Indian food. Pathetic and extremely pricey. Not worth wasting your money.

Excellent Dosas, so great to finally have decent south Indian & Sri Lankan food in Aylesbury. We were very impressed, just as good as the restaurants we usually go to in Wembley but without having to travel far. Highly recommended.

The food in this restaurant is delicious, full of flavour & spices, and very fresh. We went there for the first time, and we will go there again. There is nice artwork on the ceilings, and the atmosphere is good. The staff are friendly and you get really good south Asian hospitality!

Well they call the place south Indian! but the taste and flavour is not south Indian more of Sri lankan. I didn't like any of the item I ordered but ended up paying 66 pounds. Basically rubbish and no value for money. I dont recommend this restraunt as Im from chennai and have eaten the best. It has been 2 months now since my last review and I paid a visit but the food is still rubbish, well many that said that the food is good need to visit a proper south Indian restraunt like Saravana Bahavan, this is hopless and they they dont want to change the way they prepare the food.

A great, reasonably priced authentic meal packed with flavour! Worth a visit! Serving tasty Dosa (rice flour pancakes served with a spicy dhal and chutneys), kottu (chopped spiced flatbread with veggies) and lots more. We also had the Deviled Paneer and Deviled Potatoes which were really nice. Venue is okay. Clean and tidy with a fairly standard look and feel. As of June 2023, prices are reasonable with the range of Dosa prices between £5-8 and other popular dishes like Kottu (£5.50-10) and biriyanis (£8.75-9). Soft drinks around £2.50-4 and a 650ml bottle of Kingfisher at £6.50. I'd say well worth the price and reasonable compared to other similar restaurants around the country. The only downside is that we booked for 10 people and Dosas come out one by one every 4-5 minutes. So by the time the last one came out, most of the table had finished eating. Other small issue is that the offers advertised outside the restaurant didn't reflect on our bill. Okay it's not perfect, but we'd definitely return. The food is genuinely really good and if you're a fan of Sri Lankan and South Indian food, or want to try something different, then it's worth coming to Ceylon Dosa!

The food is delicious!!! Highlights for us are the mutton curry, beautifully spiced with layers of flavour and the mutton chukka (which is spicy but in the lovely tingling taste buds way) definitely one of our favourite places in Aylesbury ❤️ we've been there to eat and had as a takeaway and both times the food was beautiful! Oh and the takeaway is in really nice packaging, nice to see they've gone the extra mile to think about the little details. Love it! X

Sri Lankan government should sue this place for giving their country a bad name. Really bland tasteless food. Portions tiny. Stingy with plates and cutlery. Service dead slow even when restaurant is empty. Regret eating here. Not cheap either!

Exquisite taste, reminiscent of the food I had back in India. Very well quipped for family visits, with a lot of seating available and helpful staff on hand. Would highly recommend you give this place a visit, next time you are craving Sri Lankan or South Indian food!

Tasty food. Good heat. Different to the usual curry... Would have rated 4 stars but the menu is overpriced and not great value. £40 for single portions of starter, curry and biryani on deliveroo with average portion sizes.

Brilliant. Takeaway last night, stumbled across by accident. Sri Lankan rather than South Indian, I think. Dosas tasted perfect, £30 for 2 starters, 3 mains and a side, and takeaway well packaged... felt like great value. Definitely staying on the list.

We have been trying the food for the last one two weeks and the food is exquisite and consistent me and my kids tried briyani ,fried rice and egg Rotti.

Service not good. I called them in the evening to make sure that the restaurant is open for dine in. And went there with my friend for dinner. Few minutes later the staff came and told us “we don’t have any more reservations and we not serving any takeaways”. They didn’t told me about the reservation when I called and I couldn’t find any updates on their website or even at the door says they are closed. Hope you all can understand the situation that we waiting for the menu and need to leave the restaurant in a bad manner.

Appetizing and delightful cuisine...really loved it..best Asian restaurant in Aylesbury..friendly staff..everything enjoyed..all the best for the new start up.

The sitting was nice and comfortable but that was all that was good unfortunately. Vada was hard and quite forgettable. £4.5 for 1 piece dipped in Sambar did not feel value for money. A bottle of Kingfisher beer is £9.50 (I checked and it was not a printing error). Dosa was just ok in taste but very oily. Coconut chutney was ok and the tomato chutney was quite decent. I can’t see why I would visit again. Would prefer to drive to Milton Keynes for better options.

This is one of the best restaurant experiences I have ever had. The food was nicely presented and tasty. Service was also great. Since it is local, it is very convenient.
