Absolutely fine Chinese takeaway. I’ve been using the chef for a year now and have had perfectly good quality food with nothing to complain about. It seems to be incredibly low rated given competency of the food. If I felt the food was substandard I would say something, but in my experience, this is a very solid Chinese takeaway. Upvoting to 5 stars for balance. Reality - this is a solid 4. Don’t be afraid to order from here

I have been going to Mr Cheff for many years. It is hands down my favourite Chinese take away. I have never been disapointed with the food. The service is fast and always polite and they are always happy to accomodate my partners special request.

Food is great. One of the best Chinese around. Not greasy and very filling. Price not too bad for Tunbridge Wells. Order nearly every week and never had a bad order in 3 years.

Good food if arrives on time, often if they say an hour it arrives half an hour late or more, when I phone to say where's my order I get without an apology it will be another half hour. Not good enough I won't go back.

Best Chinese in tunbridge wells! Never had a problem with this takeaway. Would recommend it delivers the best Chinese and Thai takeaway in town. Always had a pleasant experience on the phone and very fast and quick delivery.

Good local takeaway cooked with fresh ingredients and cooked to order... Does get busy at peak times so prepare to wait (or pop over to the local shops after placing your order to buy a bottle of wine to go with the food)... My usual go to & favourite dishes on the menu are the dumplings and prawn toasts along with the fried Singapore fried rice/vermicelli noodles... Definitely one of the good Chinese takeaways in Tunbridge Wells...

Just had the yummiest chinese from here ! They give generous quantities and the food was delectable. Was not left feeling heavy and sick like some chineses make you feel. The food was well prepared and not greasy.

I ordered salt and pepper squid also soup and chilli oil the food wasn't bad but the chilli oil I put into my soup as I love this tasted horrible . Basically I think they made themselves with old scanky oil. I smelt It was honestly vile I just ate that ! I brought back they wasn't apologetic I told them to taste a bit he said yes it's chilli oil it was in a jug open on the side he made himself . I feel dog rough now my stomach is really not feeling good,the woman was rude just gave my £1 back and said that's all we have .Im going to report them to environmental health nasty nasty I never write reviews but this is one I cannot shut up about.

Absolutely disgusting food! Spent £60 here and it was all stone cold, hairs in the rice and gave me a gut ache ! Phoned them and they wouldn’t even give us our money back even if we brought it all back out the bin (as they suggested us to do) they still wouldn’t fully refund and they hung up on the phone. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE

Paid £60.00 for our food tonight and not only was it barely warm but there was also a hair in the food. When I rang to complain, I was asked what colour was the hair and how long was it!!! They asked me to bring back the food, but we had put it in the bin. They kept saying bring it back even from the bin. Safe to say, we won’t be back

This is our usual takeaway but the food wasn't as good as usual this time. Spring rolls had no filling and the bean curd was hard and unpalatable.

Ordered food today, came on time. The food tasted amazing and was fresh. No complaints at all.

Had the sweet and sour pork. The pork was dry and hard, had a strange taste. I definitely had better sweet and sour pork from other Chinese takeaways in the area. The sweet and sour sauce also had a different colour to other sweet and sour sauces.

Duck and crispy chilli beef are exceptional for a take away. Chicken fired rice is great too. We over order every single time, without fail.

My family and now my partner & I have been loyal customers of Mister Chef for years and after today I will never go near them again. I ordered three dishes and they were all inconsistent temperatures and I have serious food hygiene concerns. The chicken satay was in warm sauce, when biting into the dish it was warm on the outside and stone cold inside. Noodles & crispy beef the exact same, one bite warm and the next cold. I called to ask for my money back and was met with zero customer service by the lady on the phone, she called me a liar, she said because I had eaten some of the dish I could not get a refund, she refused to admit any fault and even picked up a different phone call TWICE whilst on the phone to me. She sent the manager to my house to ‘assess what refund’ we were allowed, he came and called me a liar, he said he had delivered to 100 people today and I was the only one to complain. I tried to calmly explain to him that they are a great restaurant but it wasn’t good enough tonight so I wanted my money back and he was SO rude. He shoved the money back in my hand and told me to never order with them again, to which I asked if he was honestly joking and he said he didn’t want customers like me. Shortly after eating the food my partner is feeling really unwell and is going to be sick. Luckily I feel ok so far, once I had one bite of the chicken and it was cold inside I spat it out. The entire experience has left me feeling uneasy and upset that I’ve been spoken to the way I have. I would NEVER order from this company again and I strongly think the council should look into this company because I do not think they have high standards and are making people unwell.

Very disappointed. Have been loyal customers for years. Slowly seen a decline in value and service. Placed an order this evening , really been looking forward to a Chinese meal. Paid nearly £40 for two and I initially thought something had been missed as so little. Portions were tiny not like they used to be. Full of onion and pepper to fill the dish up. Hardly any meat at all. The woman on the phone was very inpatient. When delivered not hot at all. Won’t be going there again. Ever!!! Can anyone recommend a good Chinese locally please??

Poor telephone service. Extremely rude lady on the phone. Answering other orders while on the phone to me! Must of been on the phone for 10min and still hadn’t ordered. Didn’t place the order in the end they were to rude!

Food tastes good, no issues with that but I had food poisoning from the noodles. Never again!

Food has always been delicious, eaten there for years have never had a bad experience. I've never been able to find a chinese restaurant elsewhere that's as good. No frills service they just deliver brilliant food quickly and inexpensively.

Easily the best Chinese I've ever had. I moved away from Tunbridge Wells a few years ago and I've never found one that matches up. I always make sure I get a chow mein and beef in black bean sauce whenever I'm back. Those and the chicken satay skewers cannot be beaten.

I have used Mister Chef before and its been ok. Unfortunatley after using them this time, the last time I have not bee nable to eat anything else for 3 days so far !! Call it food posoining call it a bad stomach !! Not pleasant and has kept me off work.

Rude and abusive staff. I asked how long my order would be and they became very aggressive. I then asked for my money to be refunded and they refused. It was only when I threaten to call the police that they refunded my money. They swore at me and threaten me... Totally unprofessional and very abusive.

Ordered a Chinese from here as a last minute thing as our usual Chinese was closed. The lady on the phone was quick to take our order and was even faster putting it down. Never even asked for my name! She just said come in 10 mins. Got there in that time, guess it was a quiet day as she got my order out and recapped it back to me. Paid by card, what other way is there now?!? Food was nice and hot when we got home. Plenty of sweet and sour sauce with the chicken balls but found them to be quite greasy and a lot of batter. Apart from that we have no complaints. Would use them again but prefer our usual.

Used this particular restaurant for well over 10 years. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! You can see them cooking the food so you know thy e environment and kitchen is clean & prepared properly. Decent price for what you get. They don’t give small portions either, usually lasts us for 2 days. Food tastes amazing and nothing is bland. Efficient when taking the order and never late. Delivery people are always polite. My go too takeaway always. Love it!

Worst delivery service. Hour and half to deliver our food. This is not the first time either. Please order 2 hours before for home delivery.

Firstly they got my order wrong. I asked for Chicken Sweet and Sour chicken balls, and they sent me Prawn. I am very allergic to shellfish and it a good thing I checked before biting into them. When I phoned up to say you sent me the wrong item, and they said I was a lair. Clearly I wouldn't order prawns if I'm allergic, and they refused to do anything unless I paid again. The food that did come was bland and boring. Will never order from them again.

You order they don't listen and don't send the food you have ordered and don't put it right in there eyes they don't ever think the customer is right won't be ever using again

Chicken curry has put me off chinese now. The chicken was all slushy and and tasted foul. Will never ever use again. Complete waste of my money. Check your food before it goes out

We order here quite often, the staff are friendly and courtious and the food is authentic and very nice, tried the rest this one is by far the best!

Quite simply a big old disappointment, will never be ordering from there again. After the incorrect food was delivered the ignorant woman on the phone would not listen to any complaints insisting that it was not her fault and therefore not her problem. If the food was nice then the poor customer service could be excused but unfortunately nothing about the experience was enjoyable. Plenty of better Chinese restaurants in Tunbridge Wells which we made the mistake of not ordering from.

Ordered food for take away this evening for a family and friend get together, providing for 5 people.The food turned up late (after an HOUR), and half the food was cold upon arrival. We were already fairly disappointed with the service...ONLY then to find that the order was a diabolical catastrophe. 3 of our dishes were missing, along with 2 of the dishes which DID arrive being completely wrong!!!! We were very upset with the service, only then to be rudely shut down by the colleague behind the desk. She said we had to pay for our correct and original items to be delivered, and refused to listen to our valid points. ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL customer service and won’t be returning ever again. DO NOT ORDER FROM ME. Shambles.

Awful service. Ordered a takeaway for 5 people: received the incorrect food, immediately called the restaurant to be rudely told that we would have to pay for replacement dishes. Very rude lady shouted at me on the phone, told us that it was not her fault as she wasn’t the person who took our order. Absolutely disgraceful customer service, do not order food from here.

Food always fresh and lovingly made here, delivered piping hot too, and very nice staff. They also have a great authentic Thia range too, which is really good. Great Takeaway !! 😊👍

Best Chinese food in Tunbridge Wells

This little gem was awesome. Great takeaway, very fast service, lovely staff who were very helpful, the restaurant accept cards, which is always a plus! Food is very good value for money and it was delicious! Would absolutely recommend!

Chicken chow mein, very dry and chewy, not much flavor at all, and barely Luke warm! Chicken balls, really greasy yet the chicken is dry and chewy. Side of prawn crackers were stale! Only thing that tasted nice was the pot of sweet and sour sauce

Food turned up cold after nearly two hours. Was told 45 minutes. Lukewarm Chinese an hour too late after a long day at work means I won’t be ordering again.

Not happy at all with this Chinese restaurant I would not recommend. They said within an hour for delivery it has taken an hour and 40 minutes. I rang 5 minutes after they opened so it's not like they were to busy. I rang the place up and they said it's just cooking that was an hour and 20 minutes ago the lady just put the phone down.

Chicken chow mein, sweet n sour chicken balls, egg fried rice. Chicken not tender, gistle, very tough and chewy Food luke warm.. I'm guessing microwaved. Chicken chow mein sauce not great. Had a dodgy one a few years ago and decided to try again. It's still poor. I see they also have poor hygiene rating 2 out of 5. The only plus for me was the price. it was cheap...

I have tried this Chinese twice now. Both time the food is tasteless, even simple fried noodle. Serious looking lady behind the counter, no welcome smile.

Prawns in garlic and chilli - over riding taste? Cinnamon?! The strangest food! Everything is very sweet and smothered in msg and cinnamon! Amazed how busy it is - must be a specialised taste - not for me!

The food here is typical chinese and thai cuisine. Quality of the food is always excellent and very generous portions too. The king prawn pad thai and mixed starters are particularly good

Took over an hour to arrive at our house less than a mile away. Tom yum tasted like dead things. Didn’t even taste remotely like a Tom yum. Prawns were chewy. The ginger chicken was 90% onion with 2 pieces of boiled chicken.

Great Chinese takeaway one of the best in the area.

This is not our nearest Chinese takeaway, but it is our favourite one and is worth the extra trip. The menu choice is varied and the food is simply delicious. We've just had the set meal for two, but shared between three of us and we've still got a bit left over for brunch tomorrow. Lovely!

Have loved getting my takeaway from Mr Chef, that is until yesterday when I found a clothes label in my chow mein. Disgusted and no longer happy to use Mr Chef, suggest people check their food before eating!!!!

Used this Chinese for 6 years and the food is consistently good. Menu is extensive and the kitchen is open so you can see the food being cooked. Very clean and tasty.

Have used it for large group orders and they've always got the order correct and the food has been good. Price is fine.
