Very fast and friendly service + good food - is there anything else you can wish for?

The ingredients are good and fresh. The portion is large and the price is reasonable. Good restaurant. I have been going there for more than ten years.

So good! Food is lovely and the prices are not bad too for what you get!

Food is just good "enough". We have order chicken bento and pork curry rice. Both the chicken and pork both are not so tasty (rather bland in fact, tasty simply is covered by crispy powder only). Disappointed.

Great restaurant in Chinatown. Happy we found it. Food was very good at affordable prices. There’s often a queue so better arrive early.

After 7 years we have returned and it is still the same as always. Authentic Japanese food (rice, teriyaki or ramen with curry). All delicious. It is not the right place to eat sushi but stews and fried pork or chicken. Very basic restaurant atmosphere but very authentic. Even if you don't book, you wait a little while and eat. Price between 12-17 Pounds/per. The asahi beer is very good. You can ask for a glass of water (tap water). You can also go with children. The staff is very attentive.

A no-frills casual Japanese restaurant with tasty food. Came here at around 6pm on a Friday and were seated straight away - it got busy by the time we left at about 7pm, though! A fairly extensive menu of Japanese food. Nothing particularly extraordinary in terms of choice, but plenty for everyone. Drinks menu was the same. Food arrived very quickly and staff were all friendly and professional. They offered to split our receipt by person as well, which was nice. Food was tasty and hot on arrival. I got the salmon teriyaki bento box which had the perfect amount of food. The chicken karaage was nice but slightly dry. Overall, would recommend if you wanted a casual Japanese meal somewhere!

Lovely little Japanese eatery. I went for the pork tonkatsu curry - well priced and lovely flavours. My pork was on the fattier side, but some like that! I also wish the curry itself was spicier. Still a lovely meal though. Busy place (understandably) so had to wait 20 mins, and the tables are very close together so you just have to get used to being around people. I would definitely recommend - a week day would probably be quieter. Lovely service too (there is a service charge added to the bill, but I was more than happy to pay!)

Food used to be really good until recently. Chicken wasn't as juicy or crispy and even though the menu is the same the recipes have changed. Service is lackluster now too

Hidden gem in Chinatown! I was always wondering where could I eat in London with good prices and good portions, and Misato is perfect for that. The curry rice with chicken is amazing!! And the staff always with a smile in their faces :)

Excellent Japanese food at a reasonable price. I recommend the bento 🍱 boxes. There’s no much space between tables so it can get really crowded, and it has some kind of retro atmosphere, but the service is good.

Top sushi place, very good and the chicken with katsu noodles is brutal, without waiting in line and you can now pay with a card!!! Out of 10, you should know that it is not necessary to ask for a bottle of water, they are obliged to give you a jug of water if you say still water

Heard good things about this place but was quite disappointed… The atmosphere is not inviting… Stuffy air, sad and bleak looking decorations and menus were dirty… My friend got curry noodles which tasted quite good. I got chicken noodles which were basically udon noodles in vegetable stock with sad looking pieces of chicken. Nothing special… No garnaments, sauces or vegetables 😟

The food is very good, the service was impeccable, despite asking for tap water, they came to serve us at all times. The service was 10 and the atmosphere was good but the tables are very close together.

Amazing staff at Misato when I went to order a take away , and the portions are huge!! whilst I was waiting the waitress offered me a seat, and the portions is so worth the price!

China town is a neighborhood where there are many restaurants but many with inflated prices. We found this restaurant to be perfect, with an affordable price and quality products, attentive and polite waitresses and a good atmosphere. I definitely recommend it.

The store is simple and not fancy, and the food is cooked with care. I ordered beef rice and pork cutlet rice, both of which were very good, and the plum wine was also delicious. Highly recommended.

Cozy place, can get bit crowded during lunch time. The fried chicken was really tasty, portions were generous, and soup base well seasoned. Will return for sure!

It's not cheap. 53£ 2 people. Meal... ok, let’s say. They force you to pay the tip. You can't choose the quantity you have no choice... the tips depends on the service quality. YOU CAN'T FORCE THE CUSTOMER!! Really noisy restaurant. They put all the meal on the table at the same time. No timing.

Misato, also located in Chinatown, is another fantastic little hidden gem. Serving traditional Japanese dishes, the restaurant is cosy yet buzzing. The food tastes amazing with huge flavour and absolute freshness and the staff are fantastic, especially with younger children. Despite it being quite busy the staff went out of their way to get us seated quickly and looked after us really well. I would highly recommend Misato as somewhere to go for a quick bite (if in a rush to see a show) or as part of a longer evening out. Either way your needs will be accomodated and catered for.

The food was very un tasty and bland. No flavour at all and we felt sick having it, just had to have a little bit as we were hungry and all other restaurants were very busy, given the Chinese New Year. I wish we never went there, would have enjoyed fast food better and we live Japanese food. The service was nice however. The bill included service charge of 12.5pc, which we really did not want to pay due to the food but we just left it as felt bad for waiting staff running around and smiling. Would never return if they paid me. Wasted a nice lunch out and money.

Very good place to eat Japanese food. I took a salmon bento and it was delicious. The staff was very kind. The place is crowded so be ready to wait a little bit (we waited 10 minutes).

We had a short wait, but nothing to moan about. They seat by table size, so if a table for two becomes available they will seat the first group of two in the que first whether they are front of line or not, which I think is fair enough. The food was great, but what really made the meal was the service. It was lovely to see genuine smiles and staff who seemed really happy and were extremely helpful. I marked the atmosphere as low, but purely as the aesthetic is pretty basic, but with food and service at the level it is, it speaks for itself and doesn't need frills and more.

Classic Japanese home cooking! Reminds me of food that my parents would prepare for me! The menu had a good range of varieties at varying price points and the portions were good. We have the karaage don which was really tasty and the tempura udon. Both of which were around £13 individually.

This has always been my favourite Japanese restaurant. Affordable, quick and friendly! I always order the gyu don, and they never disappointed me. The beef is super juicy and the portion is very generous every time! I visit here quite often, so will see you soon!

Como nos encontrabamos en el barrio Chino, decidimos comer en alguno de sus restaurantes y elegimos este japonés. La comida estaba rica, sobre todo el plato de Katsu con arroz. La atención fue también buena.

Hemos venido 4 personas a cenar, servicio excelente, comida muy rica y cantidades generosas. Para repetir!!

Excellente adresse a retenir sur Londres dans le quartier de Chinatown. Les prix sont très correct, les portions généreuse et les gens sont très gentil. Vous pouvez prendre les plats à partager afin de tester plusieurs items du menu. Attention il ferme vraiment a l’heure indiqué sur google.

美味的日式料理店，生意非常好，熱門時段等20-30分鐘很正常，生魚片便當很美味，炸天婦羅也很好吃。 但是店員可能太忙漏掉了我們的炸雞。

Really disappointed with tempura udon ... Their battered was really thick and horrible texture and I feel like eating from fake Japanese restaurant somewhere... Maybe their chefs were not Japanese chefs anymore....sadly it used to be good long time ago.

Really fabtastic Chicken Katsu. All their soups ans broths are delightful too. Really recommended for a cold day to find refuge inside with delicious food. Great prices too.

Misato was really good! I really liked the sushi and udon and the tempura. the place is small and packed but the owners and the chef are japanese and it's reasonable priced good japanese food.

Everything is average, in my opinion. The place is quite small and may feel a bit crowded, busy, and a little bit messy due to that. The staff is friendly. Food (portions and taste) is worth the price. Will be good for people who want to try Japanese food for the first time and see what it’s like without spending too much.

Misato has become a big disappointment! This place used to be such a cheap gem. But over recent years it has turned into an overpriced gimmick which is such a shame. The Kitsune Udon I had recently, was pretty looking but unfortunately tasted bland and generic. Back in 2015 you could get the chicken teriyaki with rice for £5.20 served on a massive plate and the portion was always too big to finish. The restaurant had a good vibe and was popular amongst students. Now the price of the same dish and everything else on the menu has more than doubled, the portions have shrunk into small bowls and the food quality is still cheap Japanese food and hasn't improved. Not to mention the clientele has changed for the worse. The service has seemed to have improved a little over the years, but still was pretty decent back in the day. Honestly, I would not recommend this place at all. The food is not great quality (as it was never made to be) or particularly authentic. You can probably get the same food at most Japanese restaurants in the area for the same price. In general I do not recommend most asian restaurants near Chinatown, as a lot of them are overpriced and targeted towards tourists. If you want more value for money Japanese food, I recommend looking for places in quieter areas around Bloomsbury and Kings Cross.

The best bang for buck Japanese Food in London. Beef Udon Noodle Soup is a go to and I love the family run vibe, it’s laid back and you can relax and have a great time. Evenings in weekends can be really busy though so expect long waits.

Cute and small, with lovely staff and good food. The staff is very quick and super helpful. The food is brought out fast and reasonably priced, while tasting amazing. It's a bit of a tight fit seating-wise but there's still plenty of space on the table.

Small and cosy family atmosphere. No big decor like the nearby Chinese counterparts but on the other hand you enjoy some good honest Japanese. Good price compared to other Japanese joints. I had donburi, miso, tempura, karaage; order your tea strong if you want it flavoursome.

I really like this place. The fish is cooked extremely delicious. I’d recommend trying nigiri. Also sake is soo smooth there.

Dishes aren’t vegetarian or halal friendly as there’s cross contamination and they cook things like tempura in the same sections. This is not clearly communicated!

Tutto buonissimo, posto piccolo ma accogliente. Abbiamo preso noodles con pollo fritto in brodo, un bento con diverse pietanze e dei dumplings di pesce: tutto veramente ottimo. Personale cordiale e servizio veloce. Prezzi super onesti per la qualità del cibo.

Best value dive in Chinatown with generous portions. I've been coming here for almost twenty years, though the last time I was here could have been eight years ago. With the cost of living going up, I had been thinking prices for eating out were a bit high. I wondered if Misato was still around and thankfully it is. Usually there is a queue, but we were there around 9pm on a Thursday evening and only waited 5 minutes. I remember waiting for more than half an hour years ago as we would go at peak times - we were amateurs back then. :p I had the chicken teriyaki and my friend had the fried chicken. Both were good. It's a great casual place - very student vibey and chilled. I'll be going back and hopefully it will be around for another twenty years. I highly recommend Misato's.

some of the best japanese i've ever had

Horrid little place. It took 20 minutes to take our order and after another hour we still had no food. When we asked about it staff just shrugged. We left after 90 minutes without any food ever coming to our table. It was the same for all other diners. The queue outside is not because the food is good , it's because the service is appalling.

Excelente en prácticamente todo. Es cierto que la entrada agobia un poco por ser pequeñita y que las mesas para grupos grandes se quedan también algo cortas, pero todo lo demás de diez. La comida deliciosa, raciones enormes, y como fuimos a eso de las dos y pico aunque tuvimos que esperar a tener mesa, una vez sentados tardaron muy poco en servirnos.

Used to be (maybe still is) my favourite restaurant in the area. Seems the menu gone trough some changes and the food is not same like before. Still great food, amazing and welcoming service everytime. Hope they will revert to their previous menu/dishes
