Misato Japanese in City of London, Westminster

I was there for the first time 7 years ago and thought it was an incredible place. I've returned now after all this time, and it's better than ever. The service is pleasant and attentive. The food is very tasty and reasonably priced.

Really good food, staff was polite as well.

Excellent Japanese address! The chicken curry was tasty and spicy, and the breaded teriyaki chicken was a real treat.

A real quality Japanese restaurant with reasonable prices. The service is top notch and very attentive to the well-being of the children. We came twice and had different dishes: everything was excellent. We will come back with pleasure!

It's difficult to call it Ramen: the udon were overcooked, almost melting in the mouth, and there was little choice for the broth, of which only a fish-based version was available. Good value for money and friendly service. The particular attention to allergies by the staff is a source of pride and concern.

Somehow the only Japanese restaurant I noticed in Chinatown. Went it at peak dinnertime but there was no queue. It looks family-owned! ❤️ The staff was nice and welcoming. I oredered the tendon and it was good. There was broccolini included which surprised me! I never had that with tendon before. The portions are huge compared to portions in Asia, well adjusted to western appetites perhaps?

Food is a good portion size, but it didn’t have usual authentic way of cooking you get in usually in Japanese restaurants. Stuff is super nice.

My friend took me here for dinner the last time that I was in London. I loved it so much that I went back the next night! I had the chicken katsu curry. DELICIOUS!

The food was alright! Not the best but definitely filled the hole. We got served very quickly. The food came quick too. In terms of Katsu curry it wasn’t the best I had. The sushi was very good.

My friend told me that Misato has the best Katsudon in London and he was right - it was! This is my second time at Misato and I’d highly recommend getting the Katsudon. The chicken breast pieces were most still and the egg layer was well seasoned. The portion was very big too. It costed £15.50, which to me is on the pricier side but overall worth it. Their other dishes are pretty solid too but wouldn’t say it’s as amazing as their Katsudon.

Cute little restaurant which offers great service and good food for a very reasonable price. Just on the way into Chinatown, it's definitely worth stopping in for one of their lunch specials.

I went to this place with my child to eat today. The girl sat us at a table, we sat for 30-40 minutes hungry waiting to place an order... the waiters passed by and didn't even pay attention, no one took our order... after half an hour of waiting we left with the child hungry having wasted time in this place...

Back here for the second time, and the food is still amazing. Great quality, delicious flavors, and a lovely atmosphere. It’s one of those places you just want to keep coming back to.

Very delicious, fresh and they offers lunch menu

Had lunch at Misato. We were greeted by a very lovely Japanese lady. We had the chirashi bowl and poke don. Both were delicious, only a bit too little salmon in the poke don.

Estábamos bastante emocionados de ir aquí, pero el precio de la comida era bastante alto por la calidad. Una de las bonificaciones fue que había MUCHO pollo con el katsudon. La decepción fue que estaba bastante falto de sabor y terminé yendo a casa con un estómago muy molesto. No volvería a ir y no recomendaría.

If you're craving Japanese, this little place is worth a visit, we started by sharing some excellent sushi and continued with a dish each. The portions are plentiful and the value for money is excellent for being in London. The cons are the little space between the tables and the desserts which aren't up to par with the other dishes, but it still remains an excellent place to eat Japanese cuisine

The chicken katsu curry rice was delicious! It instantly brought back good memories from our trip to Japan. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend stopping by for some typical and delicious Japanese dishes!

The portions are very large. Honestly, I'd rather the offered small portions at a lower price. That said, the gyudon was perfect and the staff were lovely.

If you are in Chinatown, this place is a must! Great food at very fair prices, excellent value for money. Also, despite the crowd, the staff is always friendly and welcoming.

Great atmosphere, cozy and clean shop. The workers were very sweet, excellent and kind. The Seafood Dumplings were very tasty, the Katsudon Chicken was FANTASTIC, however the Tempura Udon was a bit bland. I would definitely go again! All this was for £40.

I went to Misato yesterday for lunch after a very longtime, a year or so. They do not offer the same food standards they used to. I was disappointed. I had Katsu curry and the curry was tasteless and looked as it if was diluted with water.. The service, no comment. The staff do not even greet customers.

Sushi was really good (salmon and cream cheese maki). So was the sake fish with rice. Tempura udon was a bit too bland for my liking but maybe that’s just how its meant to be. Seafood dumplings were average. Ramune was good but expensive. Restaurant was a bit cramped for my liking but the queue wasn’t that bad and the service was pretty good. Not a bad place.

Japanese budget option in Chinatown. OK food & service plus loyalty program.

Very nice and intimate place. I stopped here with my partner for a Chinese dinner in the China Town neighborhood of London. I found a menu that was not too vast but not poor either, in my opinion with the right amount of dishes. We both took two curry dishes based on rice, one with vegetables and cooked chicken and the other with shredded beef and vegetables, both very good. To drink a water and a Sapporo beer. Honest price, in total we will have spent not even 20 each.

I like Misato for its food and the perfect location. We had the luck of finding a table pretty quickly as it is a usually a busy place in the centre of London. Had a really tasty udon which I do recommend as it’s a good quantity too.

El personal muy agradable y los precios no son caros para ser uno de los barrios del centro de Londres. Además no hay service charge en la cuenta. En dos, gastamos 34£ en total. Volvería sin duda.

The place is cozy. The service is excellent. He atmosphere is wonderful. And the food could not be less. In addition to affordable prices and THEY DO NOT CHARGE YOU FOR TABLE SERVICE! If you want to eat well this place is ideal.

Wow this Japanese restaurant is amazing. Small but cosy, always visit this restaurant When I’m in London. The food is really the best , especially the chicken Katsu curry rice. I will always order the chicken or pork Katsu curry rice when I’m here!

Fui recientemente después de mucho tiempo y me decepcionó encontrar que no es el mismo estilo de cantina bulliciosa barato y alegre que solía ser. Estaba prácticamente vacío cuando llegamos (esa debería haber sido nuestra pista de 1 calle) y cuando recibimos el menú nos dimos cuenta de por qué. Entiendo que las cosas son más caras en estos días, pero nos fuimos sin pedir, debido a algunos elementos del menú a un precio del triple de lo que eran la última vez que estuvimos allí. La atmósfera era tenue y deslucida. Era uno de nuestros favoritos cuando fuimos a la ciudad, pero dudo que volvamos ahora.

really tasty food, big portion and friendly staff. i visited alone for lunch and had the teriyaki salmon bento box with miso soup which was perfect for a rainy day.

Came here to eat on a busy Saturday at 4pm Was seated almost instantly. Staff very friendly and organised. The actual decor needs a bit of a spruce up. Table and chairs were very close to each other, walls appeared a bit dirty and I was sat in front of a metal electric heater which was very dusty. The staff all had big smiles on faces, were professional and attentive. The menu has a good selection. Myself and my partner had rice dishes which were very filling with good portions sizes. The food itself wasn't the best I've tasted and was cold. The place needs a renovation and a review of the menu.

A highly recommended site. We ordered two dishes, both with generous portions and impeccable presentation. The quality and flavor were exceptional, with value for money that is hard to beat. The chicken curry, in particular, was a real revelation, certainly one of the best dishes I've ever had.

Lo que una vez fue un lugar de comida súper barato en el centro de Londres, para los jóvenes estudiantes y jóvenes profesionales que buscan un bocado rápido, ha cambiado tanto que probablemente no volveré de nuevo. Las porciones son diminutas, el pollo al curry katsu le falta la hermosa ensalada generosa que solías obtener (ahora tienes un poco de pepinillo en tu plato). Debería haber pedido curry grande de pollo katsu, que por su "grande", es en realidad un tamaño regular normal, para adultos con apetito regular. Mi hijo de 6 y 9 años pulió su propio udon de karage MÁS mi pequeño pollo Katsu curry entre ellos. Tristemente este no es el mismo restaurante que era precovid. Diré que el personal es súper amable, encantador y profesional y sirven con una sonrisa cuando el pequeño restaurante está cayendo y con una línea fuera de la puerta. Me encanta el personal.

Nice and inexpensive place to eat in Chinatown. The servers are very nice. Ask for tap of water, if water in a carafe suits you because it also saves money.

Superb restaurant at the entrance to Chinatown! What a pleasant discovery! Very attentive service despite the large crowds, delicious dishes, a varied menu and very reasonable prices! We went there twice and what wonderful surprises!

Great little spot in the heart of Chinatown. Nice atmosphere and decent service. Ordered the chicken katsu curry with rice which was really simple but very flavourful. Costs about £40 for 2 people with drinks so decent value for the Westend.

Absolutely divine food, very generous portions and very well priced, especially for London. I ordered a tempura Bento and absolutely everything in my meal was fantastic. My husband ordered a salmon Don and the quality and thickness of the salmon was worth every cent of the price. The dining area was quite crowded but well worth it for how good the food was. If you are looking for good Japanese food at an even better price, please consider stopping here.

Little restaurant and good food

Attended with a friend who is vegetarian. Had very little options for vegetarian food. Cannot comment on the rest.

I had a salted grilled saba fish and Zaru udon. I specifically asked for the udon not too soft and they listened!! My friend had prawn curry rice and it was also good! We also order some nigiri 🍣 and all of them are tasty. In London, these are the normal, decent Japanese foods for daily life. Because the foods are very like homemade foods that I ate in Japan, so I asked the waiter and it turns out it’s a family business and the father and mother are making the foods. That makes sense why the foods are decently good. I cook a lot at home and I know when you should respect to the foods, they must be good. Will definitely come back and try more stuffs. Misato is already in my list when I go to Chinatown. 👍

We went on the recommendation of a guide and it was a success. The ramen was delicious and fairly priced for what London is. Furthermore, my partner was afraid in case they made his dish too spicy and they brought him a sample to try. They were very kind.

Misato is a brilliant find, a reasonably-priced and good-quality Japanese restaurant right in the middle of Leicester Square - and amazingly, not packed full of people when we went. The place is clean and simple, with very fast service, and a good selection of sushi, ramen, udon, and other Japanese staples.

A very busy little restaurant, food is reasonably priced and large portions, I went for the Beef Udon, plenty of beef though it lacked a bit of flavour, the broth was tasty though. Simple and no fuss, the staff are attentive and immediatley asked if I had allergies, I wasn't waiting very long to order or pay either. Would recommend.

The décor is relatively old, resembling a family-run, traditional eatery. The space is quite cramped and not very comfortable to sit in, yet it’s very popular, and you’ll need to queue for a table during meal times. Chirashi Don The sashimi is relatively thick-cut. While the freshness doesn’t quite match what you’d get in Japan, the generous portion makes it satisfying. Sushi Bento It looks quite substantial and is filling, but something about it feels a bit off. Melon Soda The scoop of vanilla ice cream is impressively large, but £5 a cup feels a bit pricey. Considering the price and portion size, it’s relatively affordable for London. However, for those with a refined taste and a love for Japanese cuisine, it might just feel average.

One of the waitresses was especially kind in showing me how to use chopsticks. It is certainly a recommendable place, with reasonable prices and no additional service charge, which sets them apart from other restaurants in the area.

Most genuine hosts ever! We unknowingly walked in after they closed and they were kind enough to offer us a table for 4, with limited availability on the menu. Owner (?) apologized for the limited options, which is very understandable, given they were cleaning up for the night! Food came quickly, was good and all the staff were kind and accommodating, never making us feel like a burden, as they were cleaning up -even cleaned all the menus! An exceptional experience, especially since we walked out of a different restaurant in Chinatown shortly before due to the exact opposite type of experience. A true gem, Misato!!!

Was looking for somewhere nice to eat and saw this place with a 5* Google rating but..after being here, I can only assume the rating is because of the low-ish prices. The food however, is bad. Really Bad. The sushi box was just overcooked rice with a lot of vinegar and some of the fish smelt strongly fishy (which fish never should). If you've ever eaten sushi before and enjoyed it then you will not enjoy this place. The katsu curry was also bland and the only positive was the tempura but even that needed some flavour. Definitely avoid, don't trust Google 5* ratings! Edited: reflected that wrong smelling fish couldn't be more than a 1 star

Brought my granddaughter for her first taste of Japanese food she'd been wanting to try an we weren't disappointed wonderful tasting food an all came in a good time at a good price 👍🏽👍🏽would definitely go again, I had the beef udon an granddaughter had fried chicken udon..also she had the watermelon ice cream float an she loved it...
