Hakkasan Mayfair in City of London, Westminster

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Hakkasan. The waiting staff were exceptionally attentive and provided clear and helpful explanations throughout our meal. We opted for the Taste of Hakkasan menu, starting with the vegan dim sum and duck salad—both excellent choices. For the mains, my partner chose the spicy prawns, which were flavorful but lacked the expected spiciness, while I had the ribeye. Unfortunately, the ribeye was slightly overcooked and a bit tough, though I hadn’t specified medium rare. We also ordered a side of pak choi in oyster sauce, which complemented the meal beautifully. Dessert was delightful, with hazelnut ice cream—a personal favorite—though it felt less aligned with traditional Cantonese flavors. The cocktails were a highlight, skillfully crafted and beautifully presented. Overall, it was a great experience, and I’d gladly return to explore more of the menu.

From the moment we stepped into Hakkasan Mayfair, it was clear we were in for an exceptional experience. Despite arriving earlier than our booking time, the staff were incredibly accommodating and managed to seat us without any fuss—a gesture that set the tone for the evening. The warm and friendly greeting from every member of the team made us feel immediately welcome. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was phenomenal—an elegant mix of sophistication and vibrancy that created the perfect backdrop for our evening. A special mention must go to the sommelier, Sasha/Sacha (excuse the spelling), whose expertise elevated our dining experience. His recommendations on both the red and dessert wines were spot on and perfectly complemented the exquisite dishes we enjoyed. Speaking of the food, every single dish that came out was an absolute delight. The flavours were refined, the presentation flawless, and the quality second to none. If you go, do not miss the duck salad—it’s truly something special and one of the best dishes I’ve had in a long time. For my first visit to Hakkasan Mayfair, I can honestly say it exceeded every expectation. I loved every second of it, and I can’t wait to return. This restaurant is an absolute must-visit for anyone seeking a world-class dining experience. Five stars well deserved!

this is definitely one of the best restaurants in London food is amazing. Atmosphere is great. The service is untouchable. Everyone must try this restaurant it will end up being your go to Restaurant when you travel to London

Found this by accident and decided to check it out. Now I have had my far share if Chinese food but this place served top notch Chinese food. Will definitely go back!

I love Hakkasan. Food is amazing. I just don’t like paying 15% (which was 22£) for the service charge.

The roast duck was awful and not hot and we weren't shown the whole intact duck, and the other dishes didn't feel like Chinese food at all, not for Chinese people. I am a Chinese social media blogger and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. We sat in the corner and the waiter couldn't see us, so I don't think the 15 % service charge is worth it either."

Hakkasan starts to amaze you already at the entrance. The place is gorgeous and staff's hospitality is rare. The food is truly perfect. Dont miss the Peking duck salad and the smoked rib. We loved every minute there.

Two of us had the Jade menu, no alcohol and the final bill came to just under £600. I find this extremely high for the food and service received. For example the rice came after we had already finished our main dishes - I didn't expect to eat a bowl of plain rice by itself at a £600 meal. The wagyu steak was a handful of small cubes and we had an item that wasn't listed and we weren't told - scallops was replaced by octopus. I'm sorry but I've received better service paying significantly less for a meal for two.

Great food, however not sure the price is worth the food. Doesnt have the same experience i would have expected from a michelin star in those prices.

Overrated, over hyped, over priced mediocrity. Everything is done as fast as possible. Get in, eat, get out, we've got more money to make. Completely impersonal from the entrance and table service to the exit. You'd tolerate it if the food was exceptional. It isn't. People rate the atmosphere? There's a constant pub like drone of people's voices, it's dark, it's huge... It's incredible how places like these make such a name for themselves.

It was really unfortunate, I wanted this to be a special experience and it just wasn't. We ended up being seated in the basement which was quiet, until another guest arrived and were seated right next to us?! I had to be careful where I put my feet, otherwise the table would wobble. I asked for a fish recommendation and ended up with pork dumplings. I had a drink by the glass, and the glass was half full. The experience was average and the food was overpriced for the food and experience offered. It was a massive shame but I can see why they didn't retain their Michelin star.

Great chic place for creative dumplings/dim sum in London’s Mayfair. Elegant ambiance and decor complemented by professional and attentive service. While I would not describe the cuisine as proper Cantonese, the food is exquisite, both in terms of flavour and presentation. The only minor downside is that the dumpling count most times seemed to be 3 (at least when we visited for lunch and ordering a la carte) and there was no flexibility to adapt and add one more when there are two diners (understanding that 4 is not a lucky number for Chinese people however it divides easier by 2).

Everything was First class, from the moment we were greeted, to the bar staff and the servers. Everyone was extremely polite helpful and friendly. The food was absolutely outstanding. This is by far my favourite restaurant ever. Thank you

To begin with, 5 stars isn’t enough to express how amazing Hakkassan is. Hakkassan is one of the best fine dining experiences in Mayfair with a refreshing ambience. Whether you’re opting for a quick lunch, dinner with the girls or a celebratory dinner. The Hakkassan experience doesn’t begin when you sit down, it begins from the moment you approach their doors where you our greeted by a lovely door man. Next, you have the luxury of encountering the loveliest ladies that at the receptionist that ensure everything is ready for your booking.When you are seated, the waiters are so attentive and friendly. We were lucky to have Edgar as our waiter who added to our experience, so kind and helpful we laughed so much with him all evening.The food quality is superb and the cocktails are great. If you have the chance to try their crispy duck salad and their signature Hakka cocktail you’ll understand. I cannot wait to come back and see the Hakkassan family again, thank you for your superior service and exceptional staff.

First time to visit and dine in Hakkasan, simply great vibrant place with buzzing atmosphere. Staff were beyond friendly and professional. We were looked after by a young lady named ‘ MILENA’ such a great and lovely character, made our experience more fun with her friendly welcoming attitude. She had an excellent experience in customer service you could tell. She is definitely a great asset to the business.

Had a nice time celebrating birthday here. Service was excellent. Food was great. The only downside was the lady who worked in coatcheck area. Terrible and Rude. But the staff who served you in the restaurant were attentive. Hakkansan should really look into this because the first impression: reception and that impatient staff on 01 Oct evening at the coatcheck was a big turn off.

Four stars overall even though everything is good because it is a very expensive meal for the food served. Was pleasantly surprised with the dim sum. The dessert was good but I’m not sure why there’s a need for the waiter to cut it for us. I was expecting more hence the video. 😝

A poor value, overhyped restaurant with mediocre food. Unfortunately Hakkasan lives up to the reputation of a poor experience in Mayfair restaurants. While I don't mind paying for good food in expensive restaurants, £17 for a bowl.of rice is a joke. No wonder it was half empty and we were able to get a last minute table. Rather go to the Guinea Grill a street away. So much better for the same money.

We visited the Mayfair Branch on Saturday We were warmly welcomed by the reception staff who were extremely helpful. The lady (Annie/Amy) who served us was thorough professional and helped us select a perfect combination of foods as we are vegetarians. Definitely give her 10/10. Looking to plan our next girls night out at this spot.

Some dishes like pak Choi were delicious. Very nice pavlova as pictured.

Superb food tasty diversified, super superb service, kind, listening, service oriented

The waiter lied to us and served cold wagyu steak for the second time. I didn't want to make a scene as I was with my date and we were in good spirits but we were both disspointed by our main course as well as the dismissive attitude from some of the staff.

We came on a Saturday evening. The people were incredibly nice and welcoming. For example, when they noticed that none of the cocktails on their menu seemed to match my taste they asked for my preferences and then asked the barkeeper to whip something together. I have no idea what he put in there but it tasted great. For starters we had Dim Sum (most of them good but the truffle in the wild mushroom dim sum was too overpowering), salt and pepper squid (good), and the slow roasted pork char siu (perfect). The mains were Chilean sea bass (too sweet), Hakka noodles (good), the duck (good) and smoked beef ribs (too sweet). Nobody had space for dessert. Was the food good? I guess. But not good enough to make me come back. I had better food for a fraction of the price in other places (both in and outside the UK). What annoyed me most is that the music was so loud that it was difficult to have a conversation. Dinner should be a social event and there was no way to socialize here. If you are looking for a place for date night I would suggest going somewhere else.

The restaurant is okay, you could probably get your money’s worth elsewhere. And what’s it with the dark aesthetics? You can barely see anyone.

The food here is amazing, especially the duck salad and noodles both were outstanding! However, the service tends to be slow during lunchtime. Despite that, I highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back.

My friends and I enjoyed the restaurant. We visited on a Wednesday night and got a table even without a reservation, although the restaurant was nearly full. There appeared to be only one main waitress busy seating customers and taking orders, so she seemed distracted. However, the atmosphere was fantastic, and the food was delicious. It was my friend’s birthday, so they gave us a complimentary dessert.

Had Hakkasan for the first time for my partners birthday. Atmosphere was nice, staff are very kind and professional. They asked on the phone when I made my booking if it for was a special occasion or anything, i told them it was my partners birthday and at the end of our meal they brang out a little birthday cake for her which I appreciated. The food: I've had several friends go hakkasan, I always see vids and pics etc and think I just want a bit of everything, which isn't cheap but this is to be expected in Mayfair let alone a Michelin star restaurant. However they had options for a tasting dinner, which consist of several things of there menu, it was around 145 per person and it had a wide range of starters, some mains and a desert. Everything tasted lovely, the duck in particular was probably the best duck I've ever tried. The only thing I'd have not a complaint, but a small issue with is the water. The way they come round and just offer and pour you water you would think its complementary, so I'm a big water drinker and drank quite alot i was shocked to find a Bill for £18+ for some water lol. But I should of know better im in mayfair. However this made me feel i should take that £18 of the service charge which isn't cheap, however it was my partners birthday and a lovely evening so I let them keep the £50+ service charge. Food tastes good and once I made it known that I had been sitting at a table without any acknowledgment for 30 mins, the server was attentive. I came in alone. The mocktail was average, however, the streamed dim sim and chicken corn soup were great!

All the protein—shrimp to beef—was of first-rate quality! Just delicious. Vibe was fun, lots of house music. Wide selection of diners; influencers (odd as they brought little compacts with lighting, but otherwise harmless), kids, retirees, fashionable friends. So basically, it appeals to everyone! Enjoy!

Unbelievable amount of food and all really tasty. We were a group of 12 and had the Jade menu. A bit of confusion around a couple of our parties swaps but generally service was good.

Mediocre food. Security was kind of rude. So many better places to go in the city, especially for chinese.

We have been regulars here since it opened but we are going to have to stop coming. The food whilst not as good as it was is still lovely but the atmosphere and service is shocking. I am now disabled and they don’t seat lunchtime diners upstairs on a Sunday (only had 5 tables filled so better upstairs surely). The lift was totally dark not pleasant. The special dessert bomb which was a grab finish with hot sauce poured on it is now just an ice cream ball in sauce that’s it. As expensive as ever but just does not deliver. Such a shame!

It’s ok but it’s not a special experience. A high priced efficient machine that pumps through the numbers. Looks the part but if you want that personal touch and made to feel valued and welcome then it is not the place for you.

The food was not at the level it used to be. We had a selection of dishes and a couple of them were exceptional but our mains were very poorly executed and quite indifferent for the level of restaurant Hakkasan is and also for their price point.

Outstanding taste experience. Modern, subterranian Mayfair surroundings, staff with a sense of humour and truely outstanding cullinary experience. Lunch a reasonable £70/head including Champagne and tea!

Overall great experience, the food was quite fantastic and especially the lychee martini cocktail was exquisite. The presentation of each dish was carefully planned however it could have been slightly more interesting in terms of decoration in my opinion. The restaurant’s design was quite nice and a great meet up with friends to have fun however there was so much noise especially with the loud music which meant having a normal conversation was hard without having to raise your voice. The bathrooms were decent but were cramped when there were others. We took the set menu plum blossom where everything was extremely tasteful however for desert it would have been nice to have a special cantonese dish instead of chocolate ice cream. Would recommend for the cocktails.

Service was a hit and miss in the beginning but was fine after. Food was great as always.

A bit on the pricey side (we expected the bill around £300 for two people and it was almost £400) but hey, happy wife happy life :) . The wagyu was one of the best I've tasted, the duck was superb, attention to details (notice the design on the ice cubes) was everywhere and the staff had the right balance of friendliness and discretion.

the room is very noisy, very crowded food is very good however there is no flexibility it looks like very fancy macdonalds they give you bill which is very expensive and add a service fee of 15% without any explanation, supposed to be a tip, but independent of your decision ! and most important, who knows if this money reaches the waitress or not ! we rejected and it was accreptex

Very lovely night, staff were very nice, respectful and helpful. Food was very good and didn’t have to wait long, would recommend the chicken in satay sauce, wagyu dumplings & pepper rib eye.

Great service from all staff! We did not have a reservation and were definitely not dressed for the occasion. All staff however were very accommodating and ensured we were looked after throughout the evening. Special thanks to the door staff who welcomed us and to the bar staff downstairs who made some incredible cocktails while we waited for a table to free up.
