Excellent second visit to this lovely restaurant. The service was excellent with very friendly staff. The food was also great - husband had the delicious lamb shank bhuna again as he enjoyed it so much last time. I had one of the paneer dishes, very tasty and not too hot with just the one chilli rating. Lovely tarka Dahl too. Would highly recommend and definitely visit again.

My partners Family has been visiting this restaurant for the past 10 years on their yearly family holiday to Bude. This year I had been lucky enough to join them and attend the infamous Marichi and it lived up to all expectations! The food and service were incredible and the portion sizes were very generous and so flavourful! Moham, Rayhan and Amol looked after our family and made our experience within the restaurant memorable. Highly recommend visiting with your family or friends when you’re in or around Bude.

An evening out to celebrate a birthday. Cannot rate this place enough. Food and staff alike were amazing. Would definitely go back next time in Bude. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

We live in Bude and ordered a takeaway. The ordering app was the best that I have ever used - easy to move about in, clearly listing what has been ordered and allowing pre-ordering for a chosen delivery time. The food was quite delicious - wonderfully cooked rice and beautifully flavoured dishes that the whole family enjoyed. We shall be back!

Local family who have always utilised the “Just Eat” app. Never had an issue until tonight. Ordered nearly £50 worth of food. Lamb Tikka Massla which is the go to literally had 4 small pieces of lamb in it once I got through the sauce. As I have never had an issue eating from them before I gave them a call to say I was quite disappointed. I was given abuse over the phone, called a liar and was making this all up for money and a free meal. Until tonight, I’ve never had an issue so to be spoken to like that as a customer has got my back up royally

Our first visit to this restaurant and what a pleasant experience. Comfortable and no noisy music to contend with. The staff were very attentative and friendly, and the food was really well presented and excellent quality. I had the dansak, and my daughter enjoyed the jalfraisi (would recommend). Found the service and curry not that great to be honest very average - but wow way too expensive. All meals were too oily, the bbq king prawn dish I couldn’t taste any bbq flavour and the prawns were way over done - the tasted has if they were cooked from frozen. The service was not reflective of the 100 pounds we spent. Half the food was sent back. At the end of the meal I asked for the bill and when I presented the bill and my card to pay they asked if I could pay in cash. I said no and on their door has that they accept cards. He said we ‘we like cash’ I said I was paying by card then he said okay then do you require a receipt, I said yes and he huffed and puffed and eventually offered the machine to me to pay. Such a horrible experience at the end when also paying 100 pounds for the privilege. I’ll never return again - not recommended.

Dont believe whats written on menu because for example rice does not come with dansak !!!!!!! Service hit and miss and didnt honour their mistake..

Called in midweek as saw a 2 for 1 offer on mains on a poster outside. We had a nice meal, albeit the service was a bit hit and miss. Would be happy to return but was spoilt when we came to pay the bill only to find 2 for 1 not applied. When questioned we were told that we had to specify we wanted that deal on ordering. Shame…. Won’t be returning!

Fancied an Indian takeaway while on holiday near Bude and tried another restaurant on recommendation first but, despite their website saying delivery with 2 miles, they refused to help. Called Mirchi who were pleased to help, take our order and deliver which turned out to be a blessing as the food was very good and delivered in double quick time. Can’t comment on the restaurant itself as we used the takeaway service but will try and book a table next time we’re in the area. Delivery personnel very friendly and polite, food, as advised above, hot, tasty and plentiful.

Wonderful meal , a vegetarian delight , the place to go if you are a vegetarian in Bude. Food was delicious, service great , just take your own alcohol.

Today Myself and my friend were looking for a indian cusain then I found this restaurant. headed to restaurant looked at the menu which is placed outside the restaurant found interesting soon after walking in I was really disappointed with menu what they had inside. Staff was rude he was so hesitated to provide ous proper bill on request. He never offerd drinks I have to request 3 times for drinks to get it on table. Totally a dissappointed experience.

I decided what i wanted outside from the menu on the window - mulligatawny soup at £4 and mixed grill (including king prawns) at £14. I went in, sat down and was given a similar menu but with the soup now at £4.50 and the mixed grill increased to £18 - ordered it anyway, and it came with NO king prawns, just loads of chicken cooked different ways. The soup was superb though, but the mixed grill was a bit boring with all that chicken. Plus, cash only and no alcohol. Very disappointing

We visited on a rainy night in September looking for a takeaway. I understand what businesses are asking when they ask people to pay with cash. In the current financial climate it makes perfect sense but we didn’t have any cash on us. You would have thought that I’d said we had leprosy. The guy on the till was about as rude and sullen as you could possibly be when I asked if I could use a debit card. What an absolute monster I am, how dare I suggest such a thing. We were told our food would be about half an hour. So we sat in our car as he clearly didn’t want to allow us to wait in the entrance out of the rain. We went back 25 minutes later and were told off for being too early. I should have asked for a refund at this point but was too hungry and polite. Now the food, plenty of meat in the curry but very runny sauces and colours so vibrant you can still see it a few days later. The keema naan only had meat in one quarter the rest was just bread, it was also very firm as if it was stale and had been reheated in a microwave after sprinkling with water. Suffice to say we really weren’t impressed……and trust me, I’m usually easily pleased. I only wish I’d read the other reviews on Trip Advisor beforehand. I don’t normally leave a bad review but in this case they really don’t help themselves.

Excellent Pakistani menu, although they also have a good variety of American dishes as well. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and she was VERY willing to help us find something we would enjoy, which was probably most of this.

This was recommended to us while we were staying in Bude as we were looking for an Indian restaurant during our stay. The restaurant was quiet, but it was very early in the evening when we went, so this was no surprise. The staff were quiet but friendly, and quite attentive. The food won me over though, the quantities were perfect and I have to say that in terms of flavour, this is one of the best places I have eaten at! The food was amazing!! I was pleased that we could take our own drinks as the usually keeps the bill down a bit, although the bill was the one thing that let the place down. While the meals weren't the cheapest, they didn't seem unreasonable, but all the extras, such as rice, naan bread, popadoms added a significant chunk to the bill, and we were a little blown away by the amount when we came to pay! However, the sheer quality of the food meant that we all thought it was worth it as we'd enjoyed it so much.

Having passed by and noticing a lovely aroma coming from their kitchen, we thought we’d book in for a family meal… that was the first and last time we’ll make that mistake! To be fair the food is okay but nothing to write home about, the restaurant however is dark, musty smelling and very dated. To cap it all the staff are really not well mannered, in fact some of them are down right rude. We walked past the Bayleaf Fine Indian Restaurant on the way back to our car and wished we had gone there instead; it was bright, modern and full of customers clearly having a great time…

After ordering take spending over £30 wasn’t impressed with my 2 dishes ordered chicken tikka muscle and chicken korma ( chicken korma was like soup with 4 pieces of Chicken throughout whole dish spent £11.00 on soup sauce. Tikka muscle was in rich tomato sauce wasn’t my normal tikka curry believe tikka is usually creamy and orange-coloured. Not red and take of tomato sauce.. woken up to really bad unpleasant stomach ace and unpleasant diarrhoea Wouldn’t order from mirchi again. Poor food for the amount of money. Waited over hour for delivery and food was cold) never again

We were on holiday in Bude and fancied a curry. We were a bit apprehensive as a couple of the reviews were poor. We had a lovely time. Service was quick and the food was hot and tasty. We would definitely recommend it and would go again on our next visit to Bude.

Food was lovely, korma and tikka masala was really nice. Wasn’t busy, waiters asked a few times if everything was ok, the only downside was they didn’t serve alcohol, was told we had to go the co-op for alcohol.

We ordered a take-away for a family of four on Valentine's Day. They didn't appear to very busy and the food was a little longer than they had said in being prepared but it was worth waiting for. the best take-away we've had in a very long time (and we have quite a few). Really tasty, well cooked, well spiced food. A little on the expensive side perhaps but perfect for a special occasion.

Telephone ordered large takeaway for seven was told 25 to 35 minutes got there after 30 minutes and was told ten more at the most.While waiting one customer came back with most of his order wrong another lady had the same problem .I am local and after over ONE HOUR TEN MINUTES my order was ready .The food was average but no attempt to apologise was forthcoming so it will be a case of The Bay Leaf for me from now on.

Went there for a Christmas curry, and it was fantastic! Greeted with crackers and an aperitif sherry, food was top notch, easily best curry house in Bude, staff very friendly and helpful, even had a complementary desert with the coffees we ordered, and festive music playing, all in all would recommend the experience.... First time visited. I found it very expensive but hoped it meant quality food. Sadly, this was not the case. We ordered two dishes with the intention of sharing. One of the meals (lamb Rogan josh) was cooked well and tasted OK. The other (lamb Dhansak), had a lot of pineapple chunks and it was to dominant in the dish. Also the spices in the Dhansak had not been cooked out properly making the dish harsh. All in all a below average dish at high end prices.

Had takeaway from here as part of a family stay in a farm cottage, with Mirchi bring recommended by the owner.It came to £60 for six adults with plenty of dishes and a good amount each when apportioned as £10 per head.I didn't try the meat dishes, but the veg dhansak was great and had a nice but of heat to it

We chose here as the reviews were quite good, big mistake! The curry was probably the worst I’ve had in a long time, no taste and too hot considering the menu stated it was ‘2 chillies hot’ I couldn’t eat mine so just ate the rice. The onion bhajis were over cooked and the sheekh kebab had no taste either. The mint yoghurt was also tasteless. Wish I’d tried an alternative restaurant now. And beware, they automatically add a service charge onto your bill, which in my opinion wasn’t justified, and the food is not cheap either! Never again

We were visiting Bude with friends & family 13 people in all. we wanted a nice meal, and found this place. What a great place. This place cooks very good classic Indian food very well., it was quite outstanding. The price was very good. all of our group which included children had a great meal. would defiantly go back if in the area. Well done.

If only for the refreshing notice on the menu "we do not serve allergy free food." It must be very tiresome for restaurateurs having to deal with fashionable fussy food requests. Mirchi is giving them the fingers up and well done you. I chose an item rated with 5 chillies with a warning and it did not disappoint! Hot as. Prices slightly on the high side but you get what you pay for of course with large quality portions. Too hot for my friend Melinda but plenty of cooler options! That said a perfectly acceptable house wine for just £15. A perfect break in the middle of Bude's excellent jazz festival.

This place makes classic Indian food really well. The price is a little higher than our local Indian at home but that's offset by the larger portion sizes...so don't over-order. Highlights were Chicken Jalfrezi and Tandoori mixed grill.

Looked at a few in Bude and decided on this one, ordered online which was a breeze uses same system as my local, food ready within time advised. Food really good and portion sizes are plenty. We had Hari Mirchi Bhuna and Biryani's with all the trimmings. Would definitely order again when back in Bude. My only negative and maybe the tourist area but even with online discount 10% it was 15% more expensive than my local, how do you locals cope :(
