Haven't been for 2 years, always loved it before, and happy to see still the best curry around, friendly service and will be back soon!

The food was lovely (very tasty and good portion sizes) and the staff were extremely attentive and very pleasant. A very good price-point too. Definitely would recommend.

Delicious meal, as always, along with excellent, friendly service. I have visited this restaurant many times, and would highly recommend it.

Very disappointed . The decor is very tired, ceiling tiles missing, extractor fans taped up and terrible dark lighting. The lad clearing tables did the one next to use and shook the table cloth on the floor then turned it over and put it back on the table, I don’t think I need to say much more about the place. The food was ok ish but not a great quality.

Found this little Gem as recommended by previous reviews.As staying close by. So pleased we went. Staff were friendly , the food was outstanding. Had the spicy prawns for starters… large portion and very tasty. The reddest Chicken tikka Masala ever seen. Delicious! Highly recommended! All dishes were excellent especially the garlic naan. One of the best Indian restaurants I’ve eaten . If we’re in the area agin we will return. Reasonable price . 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

Visiting Truro for a friend’s retirement gathering. Staying at the Alverton which is a short walk away. Came down here, roughly or so of us. Uninspiring from outside but a straightforward interior. Warm welcome inside. Seems to cater for largish groups with lines of tables shoved together. All the predictable dishes on the menu and an acceptable range of beer and wine etc. We were treated well, the food was hearty and tasty. No expensive either. Had an affable, very casual, sort of blue collar feel, just what we like. Happy to recommend.

Nice indian food lovely atmosphere friendly staff

My husband took me here for my birthday meal, it was the worst curry I have ever had, it was like tomato soup with lots of salt, with bits of chicken in, I don’t usually complain but I did on this occasion and got an apology and £6 knocked off the price, still £60 for meal for 2 with 2 drinks , the place looks tired and the food was poor. Staff where nice enough.

11 of us went New Years Eve, the food was really good, friendly and efficient service and a great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend

Best Indian restaurant I've been to love it been ever since I was a kid and still doesn't disappoint, plus is pretty cheep for the amount you get, only 4 start service as they dont have delivery

Nice curry. I really enjoyed it .service was excellent.

We had a large party booking so it didn’t come out as quick as we would have liked but the wait was so worth it. Everything arrived hot and cooked to perfection ! The staff were friendly and couldn’t do enough. I have never tasted a better Indian meal in my life !! There was 12 of us and every one was complimentary of the food. It surpassed our expectations. Special shout out to the chef Mr Malik whose food was outstanding ! Will be back !

Loved this place for Indian food in Truro. We were greeted at the door by friendly staff and escorted to our table. The service was excellent. The aloo gobi was delicious and the peshwari naan was immaculate. The tandoor chicken was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend.

Not been here for years but the food was amazing as always.

Lovely meal here great prices too but no parking the car park opposite is 5.50 for three hours only but then it's run by the corrupt council

Ordered take away and was incredibly disappointed. Both curry’s were totally bland, chicken was rubbery and the sauce was clumpy with powder! A very bad curry and will not return.

Really good restaurant. Staff are just great. Chicken dhansak was as good as I’ve ever had. Will definitely be gang next week. Shame about the incredibly noisy customers with the woman laughing like a hyena. Certainly not the restaurant fault. Great place.

Recently dined at the restaurant - ( 14/6/23 ) - 9 pm Manager there ( with the beard ) who was asking me to pay my bill seemed disturbed I ask for the bill when at the counter which is of course my entitlement after I was presented with the machine to pay. Then the timer on the machine with the amount clocked out after I was happy with the bill and his tone was ‘it’s gone ‘ - may have taken it the wrong way but next time it should be - yes of course sir ( I have the right to question the bill ) and if the timer is up it should be ( ok no problem let me put it back in for you ) However I was happy with the waiter who served me. The food - chicken biryena was very mediocre And I will not be dining here again. Please avoid restaurant. Mr Kassam

Popped in with our 3 kids for an impromptu Saturday treat and we weren’t disappointed. Lovely warm welcome, food was absolutely spot on and the children loved it. The team really made us all feel welcome and the place was buzzing.

We went here for my husbands birthday meal the popadoms were soggy , the special fried rice the peas were and the egg was not pleasant. The chicken tikka masala there was a solid piece of chicken very disappointed. The service was not good . Won’t be going back again and no refund of anything so disappointed

My favourite curry restaurant in Truro.

We went in just after Xmas 2022. I ordered a Sag Aloo which l love because its mild. When it turned up it had chillies on it. Gutted as it was a bit too hot, l left over half of it.

Had a lovely phall Mrs had a madras lovely and the egg fried rice to die for.Travelled from falmouth to truro collection staff excellent thankyou

My go to Indian for takeaway or eat in.

A great evening out. The staff are very friendly and the food is terrific. One of the best curry houses in Truro. You won't go wrong going there. And you won't go home wanting anything else. I can't recommend it enough. Go, eat, enjoy.

This restaurant is a disgrace I ordered lamb curry it was as tuff as old boots I then ordered a chicken Korma it was insipid and Milky they can't cook Indian food to any standard but poorly and watch out in your bill they charged my friend for more drinks at the end to the sum of £48 and did not tally individuals having more drinks and charged him very tough in cheek I would say take my advice don't go there !!!

As a family of 12 we were accommodated for a family birthday party well. The atmosphere was pleasant and there was plenty of space. Service was quick and attentive. The basic currys were a disappointment, the sauces for the curry, passanda and korma were watery and bland. If this was our first ever Indian meal we would definitely never eat Indian again.. It was almost as though the sauces were frozen and reheated or watered down as the food did come out incredibly quickly.The Lamb Naga and Korahi were so much The side dish we ordered was not delivered but we were not charged for it and never bothered chasing it down as we really didn't want it after we had started eating. For the price the service and speed of delivery to the table was good but the food quality was below what we would have hoped for and there are definitely better alternatives.

This is my favourite Indian in Truro. Fresh ingredients, very flavoursome, big portions. Very reasonable prices and friendly efficient service. There is a carpark opposite free after 5pm.

Lovely meal very friendly & welcoming

While visiting Truro ( from our lodge at Gwel an Mor ) family of 4 we wanted a Indian to take back - well we wasn’t disappointed at all - lovely fresh ingredients freshly cooked big portions , was well worth £55 - had 4 Chef specials 2 rice 2 Nan Breads and 1 chapati x definitely recommend Ganges staff lovely and very friendly too .

Tried out on a Thursday, wasn't mega busy, parked in small car park opposite, after 6pm it's free to park. Dated decor but food options are great, food was prompt and good standard. Really good keema nann. Staff pleasant and friendly, checking in at times to ensure everything was OK. Had a fish tank in the middle of the restaurant, ideal for looking at while waiting, needs more fish in it though I think. Good food, would recommend.

Found this gem when on holiday in Truro. The staff were polite and the food was fabulous. One of the best Indian take outs I’ve had. Would highly recommend.

Come past this beautiful restaurant on while on holiday. Brilliant services; we were offered drinks & was given free popadom while we waited. We didn’t have to wait long at all, services was really fast. To top it off it’s was absolutely delicious. One of the best curry’s I’ve ever had. I highly recommend!!!

Really enjoyed our meal tonight. Friendly efficient unintrusive service. Curries were very good and excellent portion sizes. We had half of our mains packed up to take home with us. Prices have risen of course but are reasonable. We have been here a few times before and will return. There is a carpark more or less opposite free after 5pm.

Four of us went for a meal, it was a nice quiet restaurant, lovely staff, very accommodating & very good quality food. Would happily, and will happily go again.

I visited the Ganges with friends on a Monday evening when in Truro on business. I booked a table but when we arrived there were only a couple of tables occupied. We received a warm Cornish welcome, shown to our table and given menus. In short order a drinks order was taken and quickly served. The draught Cobra was excellent, perfectly chilled and tasting exactly how a well maintained lager should. The restaurant is bright and pleasantly decorated with an eye catching display of tropical fish in illuminated tanks WE ordered poppadums and chutneys to aid selection of the main course. These were large, crisp and with no oily aftertaste. Chutneys were excellent with some interesting variations on the standard. For mains I again opted for my standard chicken madras, mushroom bhaji, rice and naan bread. This arrived promptly when allowing for prep time in the kitchen and the low numbers of others dining. Chicken was moist and plentiful and the sauce was nicely spiced, though some spices tasted a bit “raw” and just the right consistency. Rice was fluffy with well separated grains and the mushroom bhaji was excellent. Naan bread was also first rate and not covered in ghee. Service was polite and attentive without being obtrusive with drinks replenished as required We had an excellent meal and I will certainly return when in Truro and the curry pangs need satisfying

We came on holiday to Cornwall and found that Ganges had already deposited frozen meals in the local shop in Veryan. We had Lamb Pasanda, A Korma and Sag Aloo. All slow heated through in the oven and I have to say it was spectacular....

Great food, chicken madras, chicken korma, rice, keema rice plus nans. Mmmm

Excellent. Wonderful food! Tasty. The hot plates were a brilliant touch. Good drink prices. Love the fish tanks 😊 Server ali(who was on his first day) was so attentive. It's the attention to detail was supreme. The hot towels , the letting the wine breath. Spot on . Will return.

Excellent food cooked and served by people that care

I had the vegetarian thali, absolutely shocking for the price it costs £16.00 it was 3 very small bland similar tasting curries 2 potato based and not sure what the other one was, I was told by the waiter it would be a good variety! Served on a stainless steel prison plate! My partner had tandoori mixed grill, again not worth the price, a few bits of chicken and what looked like a pigion leg! Food was cold And when I complained about the state of the meal we were just shrugged off with a weak sorry, our sons birthday and first time in an Indian restaurant. No love gone into the cooking very disappointing

Lovely friendly service and great food

In My opinion the Ganges is the best Indian restaurant I have ever been to. The food is absolutely amazing the staff are friendly and professional. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are not too small.

Excellent customer service, friendly staff and great food.

Passanda sauce was bland with almost no flavour. Worst of half a dozen lamb passanda dishes I have had in various restaurants this year. Lamb was tender and good. Rice was fine. Almost everything on the menu was far more expensive than I am prepared to pay. Now at risk of Covid after waiter removed mask and came far too close to ask me a trivial question. Lack of coordination between staff means being asked multiple times if you want poppodums, if meal is OK, etc.

We were made to wait while therr were tablws available, very poor customer service especially by the manager , food was bland , won't go their again

Very good. Busy on a Monday night which is usually a decent sign. Food was excellent, friendly service. Fed me and my partner with a bottle of wine for ~£70. Considering many of Truro's restaurants are closed on a Monday this was a great find.

Hi I want to share my experience to have food in this restaurant their food wasn’t good it’s not properly cooked and they mixed food colour in chicken and the manager was really rude he didn’t ask us what’s wrong with food just start arguing with us we r Indians we know the taste and flavours English people don’t know abt that stuff this is not good for them he is playing with their healths we didn’t eat but still he charged us we don’t wanna come back this restaurant again I m not recommend this restaurant for anyone

Was pleasantly surprised on visiting this amazing restaurant! The food tasted home cooked, the service was excellent and the stuffed parathas tasted just as good as my mums! They were delicious to say the least! Yummmmmmy

Fabulous food- delicious spiced perfectly and beautifully presented. Really friendly and attentive service too. This place has an extensive menu with a huge range of dishes from all the usual favourites through to sizzling platters and house specials. Definitely worth a visit

We get a takeout from here once a month, it never disappoints. Very friendly staff, great tasting and well spiced food. Great value for your money. We have tried other Indian restaurants in Truro and we reckon this is the best place. Well worth a visit.

Following a bad experience at another Indian restaurant in Truro, we decided to get a takeaway from Ganges. This was delicious and reasonably priced, so this is our new go to Indian restaurant when we are next in Truro.

First time here for us, nice size restaurant, clean, very friendly staff. Food was well spiced and flavoursome, very tasty was very impressed.

Overtaken by rivails: Had been fans of the Ganges eating in once a month and a monthly take away but sadly Seems like they've been overtaken by other nearby places. The last take away and in house experiences have lacked the depth of flavour of local rivals so sadly, unlikely to return despite a solid past performance. Score a four overall (2 years), but past couple of experiences, possibly 2*
