Cheap trashy atmosphere, no pride in food presentation etiquette, samosas were dripping in oil and cold inside, main dishes (Haleem and butter chicken) seemed to have been made earlier in the day, just warmed up and served to us, had started to layer and dry out. Customer service was very poor. Will never be visiting again and advise against it.

Stopped here for an early dinner. The place wasnt busy when we arrived - yet the service was slow. Staff not attentive to their diners, lots of huffing and puffing around the restaurant from fed up customers. Shame, as their food is rather nice. Tiny portions - chilli lamb in photo was serving size for £10...!! Won’t be returning again unfortunately.

me and my family went to mirch masala and loved all the food.the owner gave us free food and was very humble and kind. the service was good but could be better the place was nice and all the staff were loving and welcoming highly recommend.

I've been coming to Mirch Southall for the last 5 years and I used to rate it as one of Southall's best cheap eats. When we've been before at 3pm on a Sunday it's always been heaving. Not today though. If I'd have read the reviews or done a Food Standards Agency search before, I would have understood why. FYI it currently has a zero rating with "Urgent improvement necessary" on all levels and by the time you read this, it will probably have been shut down!

Food in this place is great but service not so. We had a nice lunch here as we were in Southall for the afternoon. We ordered a Jeera Chicken Curry and a Sag Paneer along with some parathas. The food was really good and just the right spice and seasoning. Parathas were particularly good. However the service wasn’t great. We waited a long time to have orders taken and one of the parathas didn’t arrive until 10 mins after the dishes arrived. They were friendly though.

Most Terrible restaurant in Southall... overpriced and worst service... We was still missing fork and knifes 10 minutes after our food arrived. And one of our dishes didn't we even order... Please avoid

I came to this restaurant after a few years and had the best lamb chops I can remember, perfectly spiced tender and the right amount of kick. For the main had lamb curry that was perfectly cooked to order melted in the mouth superb flavours can’t wait to come back. I don’t understand why this place has had a few bad comments as I was very happy with the staff and the food Would recommend you try this place for good spicy Asian food as we will be back 100%!!

Rubbish service, came here after a decade. Service is so bad and not worth visiting. Long waiting time and no one is bothered to ask if we were ready to order.

Worst ever place to go. Horrible all around Service was really bad. Lied about the time and tried to charge me 27 pound for a mix grill that had only chicken. This place needs to be closed down.

Het duurt heel erg lang vooraleer de bestelling w opgenomen. We zien andere klanten dan ook opstappen.. Het duurt ook onredelijk lang vooraleer de cola Light w geserveerd. Ondertussen blijven tafels onafgeruimd. Alles loopt hier blijkbaar op Pakistaanse tijd. Dat we lang moesten wachten op de maaltijd zal wellicht op vers klaargemaakt duiden? Maar. Het zag er niet direct appetijtelijk uit. Een grijsbruine mash. Overwegend linzen. Enkele aardappelen. Sporen v lamsgehakt. Wortelen uit blik (!) Geen verfijnd smakenpalet. Neen. Dat de Pakistaanse keuken de Indische niet kan evenaren, wist ik vanop mijn reizen. Maar een aanrader kan je dit restaurant bezwaarlijk noemen.. Het toilet voor minder-validen was adembenemend vies.

Food - Everything was sub-par. From the semi cooked poppadoms (photos available...also how can one even get poppadoms wrong?) to the lazy attempt at butter chicken (the chicken wasn't even tandoori grilled despite having skewer holes?). Staff - Genuinely the most unhelpful staff I've ever come across in any restaurant ever. It would help if the waiters could effectively communicate too as alas there was a very awkward food order mix up. Ambience - note to owners, a few pictures of Pakistani trucks and scenery are not enough to create this oh so necessary ingredient for a good restaurant. Prices - for the quality of food provided I think that the prices were more akin to daylight robbery.

Went in for a take away. This was the first visit I assumed food would be great . Spent 100 on take away ... biggest mistake . Worst food avoid at all cost . No value for money . I feel sad spending that money and wasting the food. Rice not cooked . Meat was the toughest. Everything was so salty over the top. Never ever shall I step into that restaurant again. Nor will I recommend this place . Expensive experience.

Tried some lamb trotters with biryani and the flavours were out of this world! Perfect mix of spices and heat. The nans were soft. They even arranged a cab for us. Very good service

Visited this restaurant yesterday . Totally unexpected Horrible experience as the restaurant is sold to third-party and they ruined the name of mirch Masala . Food was discussed cooked in used oil and no explanation from staff at All.Not coming back again ever . Avoid on any cost.

When visiting Southall, my family always end up in Mirch Masala. Whilst the decor isn’t the best, the food never seems to disappoint. Normally the service is a bit slow but on this occasion the service was very good with 2 attentive waiters/waitresses.

I remember this place used to be great but wow it has gone downhill...

One star review is way too generous. Took three waiters before someone actually bothered to take our orders. Asked four times for tap water with no luck. We also ordered an orange juice, and after chasing for 30 minutes and being continuously told that so and so would bring it... eventually we were told that thy had no orange juice. We were given no plates, no sauces, just knives and tap water. We asked to speak to the manager where a man appeared at our table and told us it would all be sorted. I could go on and on - we never actually got our naans or starters, and we asked the manager for a discount. Only to be told actually he wasn’t the manager! After much frustration still no one gave us the bill or offered a discount or gave the missing items. But I have to give it to them - they did offer to take the drinks off the bill - we ordered two cans (!). We offered to pay half and they outrightly refused to discount the receipt. We paid for the food we ate and walked out. I am utterly shocked - we received no apology, excuses from ignorant, lazy and incompetent staff. How is this place even open?

Had lunch here with my daughter and whilst food wasnt brilliant I did not have high expectations. However, I realised that I had bit into a foreign object in my food. Now sitting at home having had pain killer and the management team at Mirch Masala are too busy to answer my call let alone look into this and offer an apology- hope there is no permanent damage needless to say will not be visiting ever again !!

Today, I went with my family for a dinner to Mirchi Masala at Southall. We asked for tap water and the waitress brought bottled mineral water. I told her that tap water is enough and she replied to us that she has filled tap water in that bottle. It was so weird and disgusting to hear that. It is supposed to be a use and throw bottle and not to be given to other customers filled with tap water. It is not hygienic and I don't know who sipped that bottle before and don't know how many tables it went before reaching our table. I told this to the Manager guy, think he is. But he replied in a cool manner that they provide water like this if the customer ask for tap water. I clearly told him that this is not acceptable and left. Clearly he was not bothered about this. When these people will change or realise that these kind of behaviours towards the customers is wrong?

You can’t go far wrong in Southall when it comes to Pakistani cuisine but there’s no doubt some establishments make for a more special occasion than others. This was quite a substantial visit – nine of us so we sampled quite a bit of the menu between us with the emphasis of course being on sharing as indeed it should be at any such restaurant. The menu here is rather basic compared to most of the other restaurants along this strip – this is essentially a ‘no nonsense’ establishment. None of the dishes that we ordered were bad but nothing particularly stood out either. The Mixed Grill was probably the best but nonetheless struck me as a bit tough rather than tender. The Nehari was well received by others in our group but that’s not a dish that I personally care for. The Karahi Chicken was disappointing – quite simply not enough chicken! We had some sort of prawn dish and the prawns themselves were actually better than I expected. Other dishes arrived at hap-hazard intervals and the various types of naan are of variable quality – try the more unusual varieties. The service was as you might expect for such an establishment with the waiters being difficult to get the attention of at times but helpful nonetheless – the tables and flooring could be better cleaned inbetween diners.

This must be the most dissapointing Lunch in Southall. The plate itself was hot, but the Kebab in it for GBP 16 (Chicken Tikka, Lamb Kebab, Boti Kebab etc) luke warm outside and cold inside. Meat was tough as it was fully dry and stale. I presume they were warmed in a pan and served from leftovers. A ghastly and frightful experiece. We did not eat it, but the bill was for the full amount. Very dissapointing.

Have visitited MM multiple times. Its always a great place to visit with family and enjoy a tasty feast as the portions are generous, and service is always friendly. Ps. The passion fruit juice is always my favourite! delicious!

My family and I have been regular customers at Mirch Masala for years and the standard of both service and food has continued to top itself over time. There is a fantastic range of options for all with lots of vegetarian and meat options and the food itself is delicious. The mixed grill is particularly flavourful. I'd definitely recommend MM for an authentic Punjabi food experience.

Amazing, mouth watering food at a reasonable price. My family and I are now regulars at Mirch Masala and love everything on the menu!!

We have been to Mirch masala 100s of times over the years. Thought it was only fair to finally leave them a review.

Went there Saturday with the family asked for a high chair which came broken, waited ages to order food once food came it was incorrect and had to be sent back. Tap water was refilled Evian bottles which we refussed. Drinks we ordered we had to keep asking for. Early hours of the morning I started vomiting. Floors were never swept and had food all over. Toilet you could smell in the restraunt. Shall not be going back again

we were all sat for ages before anyone even took our order. then the food took ages to come out and they wouldn’t bring it out all together so some people were finished before our people’s dishes even came out. the waitresses were rude as well, we would ask what dish they brought out and they wouldn’t know. had to ask them multiple times for a drink before we got one. then when we asked them to bag our food to take home they only gave us half of it.

Having been here for years never had a problem. We were shown to our table and after half an hour a waiter came to take our order. When my husband asked how long food was likely to be because we had already waited half an hour, the waiter began to argue and say it had not. He tried to sell a double portion of lamb Karhai, saying it would be fresh if we order a bigger portion, smaller one has been sat around since morning! After being told food would be about 15 minutes, it took 40. We had to ask for a jug of water four times, eventually the waitress brought a dirty used bottle of Evian water filled with tap water. When I queried why it was not a jug, she said that they fill up bottles. I also noticed a family beside us ordered mango lassi, it came in a 2 litre reused milk carton. The food arrived in dribs and drabs. When almost finished the plain rice arrived, we sent it back as it was no good to us at that point. I asked the waiter in the grey suit for the bill, he brought me over such a filthy bill! Please see pictures for a copy of bill and the Evian bottle.

We have been their twice in last three months but unfortunately they have lost their taste buds . They have a new chef and food is not that good as it used to be we used to have chicken seek kebabs even after going home you could not get rid of the fragrance off your fingers but not nothing like it no taste in any of the dishes or kebabs very bland food they have lost it .

Please don't wast you money and time, food came in stages after every 10 mins after telling the waiters. The main dishes came with 1 naan for five people to eat and then was told others on its way, the other naans did turn up after asking 3 waiters, that the naans had not been sent. Meat was not lamb and the person that cut the meat should get a medal as the pices were cut for animals. Advised after 1 hour that we had enough advised to pack the food as did not want to waste what was given. Paid full prices for low standerd service and the way the food was given. Very supriseing for the brand name. Owners need to have a re think about what they doing with this place

As soon as you sit down, you are served a freshley made salad with yoghurt and chilli dips.Good selection of both vegetarian and meat curries. Good portions and great quality, highly recommended.

I’ve been eyeing this restaurant a few times that I’ve visited Southall, but I finally went in. The food was very tasty, and piping hot. We asked for the starters and mains to come together and they were prompt. What was not so prompt were the staff, especially with the bill. There was also a little disorganisation amongst the staff. However, the food was tasty, so I didn’t care as much!

Ordered paneer which was burnt, just the fish was good. Lamb briyani was ok. Customer service was fine, bit slow. Came back after 3 years and no rush to go back again

This is my regular restruant I go to...the food is next to none.amazing food...the waiters and waitresses are a nightmare.there clothes are dirty, most do not understand English...last time I visited it took 20 mins for someone to take my order and that is because I gestured someone over .it wasn’t busy it took them a further 10 mins to bring my popadums...they got my main wrong so I had to wait .my tandoori roti went cold waiting...when main was bought out I complained about my roti so waited a further 5 mins for hot ones...food too good but everyone needs to complain about the service.terrible.

I went there with my family the other day. Very busy and always packed out. Food was decent quality. Service was ok, could be better but I guess with it being packed out all the time it can be hit and miss. If you're into Indian food then you'll enjoy it here. Lots of dishes to chose from.

Been going here for decades and had some ups and downs in terms of food and service but last night left for the last time without eating the meal that arrived in dribs and drabs over 20 mins following an initial wait of about 45 mins. Chairs had not been wiped, starter arrived cold, mains arrived not as ordered, one main didn't arrive for about ten minutes after the other two, rice arrived very salty, mango shake not good, repeated requests for water ignored . . . cheerio Mirch, all good things come to and end.

Completely agree with the bad reviews about this place. Staff here are rude and inconsiderate...whenever something was brought to the table, it was always slammed on the table, without a doubt of empathy. Waiting staff were confused about who’s orders were for which table, resulting in the food being cold when served. Simple things like a napkin not being given....in the end had to go and get one myself from one of the staff at the front...only to be thrown one in my face as if I was being an inconvenience. Not only us, but customers on tables either side of us were also complaining about the service and attitude of staff. These are only some of the issues we faced here. It was our first time at Mirch Masala.....but will also be our last. (The one star is only for actually being served food because we were so hungry at the time!)

Place didn’t look the best and quite outdated. Our food came quite quickly which was a plus point. We ordered lamb handi with boiled rice and a portion of chips which were tiny even though we paid £2 for them. Food had too much ginger in it, literally every mouthful had strands of ginger, wasn’t the most flavoursome curry I had tasted. Meat was very tender though which was good. I don’t think I would come here again, wasn’t anything special and the plates were dirty, wasn’t much of a variety of dishes either.

I go here often and always order the kebab roll and it’s always lovely. Their service is always good. I’ve never been disappointed with their food compared to tkc which is disgusting! Definitely recommend this place

Ordered veg biryani, haleem and naan. I asked the waiter if the veg in the biryani are fresh he said yes. When i started chewing into the veg i could tell by the taste that the veg wasnt fresh. I dont think i would have ordered it if i was told the truth there was no need to lie. Biryani was very bland anyway. Spice village few doors down is amazing. Haleem was full of tumeric and lentils i would expect meat/chicken.

I really liked their food. Just the right kind of spices for the Asian taste buds. Good quality food and very friendly service. Would definitely recommend.

We went in mid day today. The day was miserable with rain. Southall shops were busy. We made the decision to have lunch early to avoid the rush. We had a window seats but the service amazed us. The fish, dall and nan lunch was brilliant with spicy tea on a cold breezy day. The service was just as good and staff chatty. They packed the left overs for us. Good management.

I visited mirch masala twice and the service is really perfect provided by Alishah. It was really good and applausable. The food is the best in the entire southall. 100% recommendable. A must come. Thank You

Waited 30 min before we got seated and then waited another 20 min before some took our order thats after i had to go ask several times. Waited another 35 min before our starter was served we still had no cutlery or drinks on our table and once we managed to get the cutlery we still did not have enough plates and was told they had ran out and we had to wait then out came our main meal and half of us still did not have plates our starters had not fully been served and we had dishes missing from our main and starters and drinks still had not been served. At this point i lost it and we got up and left i had a family of 8 with me and 5 of them where my guests it was so embarrassing. And then the worst thing was the manager expected need to pay for what had been served considering we waited an hour and 40 minutes and did not even have our starters or plates or drink served I would never go back to this place again disgraceful management disrespectful only thing they seem to care about is getting the customers in and seated.

Been going here for years and the food is still as good as ever. Love the taste of everything we have tried here and don't think any other restaurant of this type compares. The service and atmosphere have always been very good, particularly since the staff are very helpful and friendly. The restaurant seems to have changed its' decor so it looks even better than before. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

My family and I have been visiting Mirch Masala for years now and have come to rely on it as the best choice for Asian food. We have never had more authentic Asian cuisine anywhere else and the taste is always amazing.The recent change in decor is fantastic and has improved the restaurant's ambience even further. The service is also always prompt and the staff are friendly. We would recommend Mirch Masala for anyone looking for a delicious Asian meal.

Been going there for 6 + years. Their food today dived, and waiters attitude uncaring. The seekh kebab had mega salt. The answer I got was that's the entire batch of lamb mince so nothing can be done. I was offered a chicken kebab. 2 mouthfuls, large bits of very raw garlic and even more salt. So let me try a Karahi Gosth. Seems chef has had another salty recipe. Awful.

I have always going to Gifto however today was so over crowded I tried Mirch Masala and I was shocked. The staff where much friendly and engaging with my children !! The food was much better quality and fresher so so much nicer. I have been converted to this place now and will be using this place for sure I recommend well done to all the staff.

Conosco tutti i ristoranti Indiani di Southall ma questo secondo me e' il migliore.La prima volta che andai a mangiare, abituata ai prezzi di Londra, mio marito disse al cameriere scusi ha sbagliato .15 Sterline in due che a Londra neanche prendi un panino da Mc Donald !Tutti i piatti possono essere fatti piccanti o non piccanti e danno particolare attenzione se ci sono bambini.

If you dont like spicy as in 'hot' ask for mild!!We loved it being used to Indonesian. But my cousin found it a bit too spicy. Realy helpfull and friendly staff. And even tho from the outside it looks like a gigantic cafeteria. Its atmosphere inside isn't giving that feeling. Besides, good friends and good food make a good evening. No matter what surrounds you're in.The food was excellent.

One of our favourite restaurant on southall Broadway. We have taken family and friends so many times I must say the food always taste good and fresh and we were never let down. Even on the day of Eid which is one of the busiest days of the year the staff pulled it up together very well. Keep up the good work guys well done!

Went here with family to eat,found tables too close together,felt cramp,ordered meal each,biryani,chicken Khari,kheema,Tarka dhall,nans,fries. The biryani was very diasappointing was cold,had no meat or spices according to The price they charge,the dhall,chicken & kheema was swimming in oil. I have eaten many biryanis and this was the worse. Food is over priced,greasy,taste wise is not good. Customer service is average,we got charged for food we didnt eat. I would not recommend this place. We paid over £50 for horrible ,cold,greasy food.

Waited 22 minutes before we got our food .. the Resturent certainly does not deserve 5 in Food Hygiene Rating.Mirch Masala definitely by now is a fast wood and not a proper Indian Restaurant. The mixed grill is average but the Kharai Meat is very, very greasy. Mirch Masala is over priced for the quality of food and customer service.

Just visited with my family. Good decent food. Good portions. Good value. Clean and tidy restaurant without any extravagance.

Don't expect fancy table clothes and waiters dressed in the usual curry house uniform. It's a basic restaurant that serves great traditional dishes. The mixed grill is the best. I'd skip the curries as some of them can be greasy. A great no no-nonsense curry house.

I've visited this restaurant many times with my family and have always been very impressed with the food. The butter chicken was the best I've had and I'd also recommend the masala fish. The staff were very helpful and friendly which made our experience even better. We'll definitely continue coming here.

i don't usually bother leaving reviews but I went to Mirch Masala last week and really enjoyed my experience. Everything tasted amazing and you could tell it had been freshly made. To top it off, there was a great atmosphere which was suitable for both families and friends. The staff were also friendly which always helps. Can't wait to go back!

The food goes by the name. Mirch masala. Good spicy food. With good roti. Worth visiting again. God like palak paneer. And the butter milk was great.

Visited here for a bite, we had chicken jalfrezi, karahi butter chicken, taarka daal --- all of our dishes had an excessive amount of oil, enough to see the spoon reflect off the top. It wasn't ideal. The chicken was rubbery, overcooked and the sauce was ..oily - food didn't do the stomach any favours either.We were accidently given two rotis in addition to our order, the server said they were complimentary but a minute later kept in and said sorry these two are for the other table. It's also incredibly overpriced - no value for money whatsoever.

food is way overprices, curries are very oily and greasy, service is terrible, had to wait 20min for a drink after reminding them twice, not good at all for families, will never return, the amout of meat in the biriany was 3 peices,when i asked the owner how many pieces of meat are supposed to be in the biriany, he said 3! how can you put 3 small pieces of meat in a biriany and charge £8!!

We've been coming to the Mirch for years and we've not had a duff meal yet. The staff are very friendly and welcoming for a start. Other reviews have suggested they're intimidating if you're not Pakistani; we're white British and have never once felt anything other than welcome. The food is excellent but if you're expecting the usual Indian restaurant menu (jalfrezi, rogan josh, korma, etc.), you won't find many of them. The dishes I can recommend are butter chicken (if you prefer a milder curry), karai lamb or chicken, chana chicken (with chickpeas). You can ask for them as hot or mild as you want. Beware though - their mild isn't the kind of bland, flavourless junk you get in a lot of places. As a starter, the onion bhajia is to die for - forget the pathetic little patties you get in most Asian restaurants. This is strands of red and white onion coated in flour and spices and deep fried. It comes as a birds' nest mound of utter deliciousness. The chilli bhajia is good too or chilli paneer, which has a pleasing kick. If you fancy a carnivore feast, you have an empty stomach or there's a few of you, start with the mixed grill. It comes red hot from the tandoor and the smell alone blows your socks off. It's pretty standard - chicken tikka, seekh kebab, lamb chops, etc. All yummy. Their naan bread isn't the dreadful stodgy elephant's ear thing you get at lots of Indian restaurants. They're round, the size of a dinner plate, thin, hot and not horribly filling. Ask if you prefer them without butter. They're just as delicious. And if you need more, just ask and they'll be with you in a shot. As a dessert, we always finish with a kulfi stick - malai (plain), mango or pistachio. It finishes off your meal perfectly. If you still have room, the kheer is delicious too.To drink, the restaurant is dry so don't go if you want alcohol. The mango lassi is fabulous but beware - it's dead easy to guzzle it down and it's very very filling! But if you can't finish your meal, just ask them to put what's left in takeaway containers- I end up doing that almost every time, mostly because the portions are a really good size. We've never had a bad meal here. Yes, it is a bit down market - there are no tablecloths or linen napkins and you're unlikely to get matching crockery or cutlery. It can get very busy at peak times and at holidays so you may have to wait for a table. But the place is clean, the welcome is warm and the food is superb. What more could you want?

My family and I have been visiting this restaurant for a long time now and have yet to be disappointed. The mixed grill is the best on the broadway and there is a massive selection of curries. Everyone should also try the peshawari naan, Haleem and Nihari and the passion fruit juice. The coconut ice cream is great too and comes in a coconut skin which is cute! Overall couldn't recommend it more

Really good food and service, is what it says on the tin. Extensive menu with a lot to offer- everything I have tried so far is amazing and hasn't cost me and arm and a leg either. They're also accommodating with large groups so good for office dinners or big family celebrations.

When it comes to Grills, Pakistani restaurants are the best. Well that's what I thought till I visited this restaurant. I ordered a mixed grill, chilli chicken, rice and chips. Only thing which was edible was the chips. Tandoori grill tasted like it has been re-heated because the meat was dry, hard and no tandoori spice! Chilli chicken was bland. However, chips was great!!! We left the grill as it was after a few bite. The waiter noticed that we hardly touched the grills and offered us to take it home. We declined and told him how bad the grill was. We just wanted to pay the bills and get out. As we left we saw a few kids dining and I just hope the parents don't treat them with tandoori grills because soon after we left the restaurant, my friend suffered from serious stomach pains and vomiting. This restaurant is a disgrace to all the other Pakistani grill houses who serve a great grills.

Southall has a great choice of South Asian restaurants and this has become a reliable favourite over the years. All the food is cooked to order in an open kitchen visible from the restaurant, and the flavours, ingredients, service and quality are all excellent. The menu is North Indian / Pakistani and it's very popular with locals, so arrive early if it's a weekend or a Muslim festival (the restaurant's right next to a big Mosque and there are often queues coming out the door). On this occasion we had starters of Onion Bhaji (huge portion, beautifully crisp without being fatty) and Paneer Tikka (sizzling hot served in a karahi with salad and onion). If we hadn't both been hungry we might have stopped there but as it was we ordered karahi gosht masala (spicy boneless lamb), fish tikka and rice and a peshwari naan. All of them were superb - the lamb and fish top quality, no bones or gristle and excellent flavours. The naan was outstanding too. One of the great things here is the service - they don't bask in their reputation but genuinely want to make your visit enjoyable - for instance adding extra ginger to our lamb dish at our request, and giving us a take-home doggy bag when we couldn't finish the generous portions. You'll find cheaper places in Southall, and you'll find smarter settings, but you won't find better food or service.

Very tasty food is served here. would recommend eating with friends / family. I would dine here again if passing through.

The shami kababs were quite good and so were the keema samosas. The chicken tikka masala was a bit English for my taste.
