Very misleading! Huge signs outside saying dogs “always” welcome. Well it seems not If it’s raining, the bar person claims dogs are not welcome if it’s raining. It is a shame the bar man was so rude considering we had previously enjoyed a nice visit here.

Extremely unwelcoming & a very bigoted environment, bar staff do not make you feel welcome in the slightest & unfortunately the owner/manager is on a total power trip, do not recommend in the slightest, do not work with the public if your people skills do not exist. They promote slander , false accusations & a total clickey unwelcome environment, steer clear, lots of other much nicer places in the town to go then here. Due to the extremely rude & disrespectful manner in which the manager/ owner spoke to me in front of all the staff & customers, then falsely accused me of slanderous accusations I have been left with no alternative but to continue to protest against the establishment, protests in order to make them feel how he made me feel.

Unfortuantley the mamagment of this property let them selves down with there lack of social skills and ability to discriminate openly with out true explanation or evidence against people. Appaling behavior in such a beautiful town.

When we visited Stamford we spent a few nights in the Millstone Inn Bar. Great selection of beers on tap and central location in the town. Would recommend a visit.

Popped in here for an hour or so to get away from the very crowded Christmas Market. The atmosphere was really good with a mixture of shoppers and locals. They keep a very good Timothy Taylor’s Landlord and the pizza made to order looked and smelt great. As a couple of a certain age the 80,s music played in the bar was much appreciated and helped the good beer go down a treat. Also nice to find a pub that welcomes dogs unlike the pub next door. The bar staff were friendly and efficient and even though the pub got very busy you didn’t have to wait long.

Terrible experience, they don't understand the concept of customer service. The acting manager guy was rude, he swore at us, was aggressive and confrontational. He tried to bully us, same as the place is lovely but the management is terrible. Not a place I would recommend.

After getting to know our way round Stamford, a great place to have a drink in their beautiful garden and enjoy pizza with the sun shinning down on us with a to cider or two. Will definitely will be back

The Millstone is a large, historic and quite picturesque pub in the centre of the small town of Stamford, one of literally a dozen pubs within a five-minute-walk radius. This is definitely one of the best ones in some respects: nice interior, a beautiful and large beer garden in the back, historic front, and good, handmade pizzas (on weekends only). I spent a couple of hours there on a Saturday afternoon when it was quite busy. Service was good, my pizza (made on site, directly opposite of my table) was well-made and competitively priced (UKP 10 for any variety), and the atmosphere was pleasant if you don't count a group of vulgar, cheap women ("Girls night out") who were loud and rather obnoxious. You'll find those at any larger British pub on weekends. The cask selection is decent if rather conventional (Timothy Taylor Landlord et al), drinks prices are okay.

The beautiful beer garden drew us over with all the plants and the lighting. The staff were so friendly and the coffee was great too. I would like to come back for food next time. Highly recommended.

All 4 of us had the fish and chips - excellent, including the 2 of us who had the gluten-free option. Sarah, who welcomed and looked after us, was most attentative and well informed

The addition of the outdoor pizza area in the beer garden is excellent. We had the Ring of Fire pizza - with traditional thin crust and a well spiced topping with just the right amount of heat. Check before going as the pizzas are currently only available on Friday and Saturday - hopefully they sort out more days soon! Highly recommend - we will be back.

Won't be visiting again. Popped in for one, it appears you are not allowed to read the listing on a juke box without the bar staff screaming over the bar to alert everyone attention that music shouldn't be played during a football game, as if we are not aware of the etticate. Should they take issue with patrons touching what is normally considered a form if entertainment for customers, they should place a polite sign on said item. Or perhaps they where shocked that their visitors are able to read as they clearly lack basic abilities to communicate appropriately to a customer when they are the ones working in a dying pub. Next time you serve a customer try to smile and not glare. All the staff are frosty as f**k, and apparently don't care that they are being paid to be polite.

Very good pub but very judgmental landlord. Won't listen to reason, think he likes barring people. Overall good pub

Called in here and we should have walked straight out again. The television was blaring out but nobody was watching it. There were a group of lads playing pool shouting and swearing and a couple of them had their feet on the table trying to rock it while the players took a shot. The atmosphere was awful. There is a outside area with plenty of seats which could be put to good use but on our visit there was another pair sat there but they drank up and left. Such a shame as it used to be a real thriving pub but sadly gone downhill.

With all the interesting pubs that Stamford has to offer we realised very quickly this was the wrong choice but stayed for a drink out of awkwardness about leaving. Dated, average and dull decor, tv's absolutely everywhere showing itv!? fruit machines, funny smell and no atmosphere. We were also the only people there on a Thursday evening apart from the owners who sit at the bar as if it's their front room. Very odd place, and not in a good way. Give it a miss if you're going to Stamford. Such a shame as it's a beautiful building from from the outside in a great spot.

Came here as previous pub was just too busy to see the game properly. Mill had lots of screens and plenty of space for a good view. Outside bar was also on the go. Prices were reasonable and good atmosphere.

My daughter and son-in-law held their wedding reception at Mam Liz's last night and it was just perfect. The food was superb, made by the incredibly skillful chef Nick who created a vegan Carribbean menu for us, where nearly everyone had seconds. The staff couldn't have been more attentive, and they even set aside a courtyard with games to entertain the kids...and adults throughout the evening. We simply couldn't have asked for more. Thank you to Liz and Michael for making us all have such a memorable night xx

Very expensive, too little quantity. They are selling coke for £3.49 alone, don't talk about the food.
