Amazing staff who did not flinch when 18 of us turned up for breakfast. Natalie, Oomar and Rukiya all went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable. All ordered different breakfasts and everyone really enjoyed themselves. Kids enjoyed the village feel and the stream on the street. Would defo go again

I booked this b&b after reading the reviews on Instagram. Unfortunately for a place that calls itself halal allowed dogs to stay in her premises. Had I known this before travelling I wouldn’t have booked it. I’m not sure how many Muslim families would stay in a room that a dog has stayed in previously. It’s best she fore warns her guests that dogs are allowed to stay.

Tasty halal food. So much variety .. different specials too. Best ever homemade scones with clotted cream n jam. The host is really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I asked for the chicken from a cold sandwich to be made on a hot panini. It was absolutely delicious. The tea room is really pretty and everything is kept sanitised regularly. The staff are really helpful and take time to chat. They make their own chocolates and we were given two complimentary. Again .. delicious. Had we not been so full .. we would have tried another homemade dessert .. next time ! We can’t wait to visit again.

Popped in after a walk to kinder reservoir. Name and number taken for Covid tracing although I didn't spot any sanitizer for customers but we had our own. If it had been full I might have felt uncomfortable with the closeness of tables.Had a cold drink and slice of cake each. I had the apple crumble cake and it was by far the best slice of homemade cake I've had out for a very long time.Staff were very friendly.Definitely recommend a visit.

We stayed at Millies for one night and can't fault it. The owner was out when we arrived but had sent a text with details how to enter and where to find the key for our room. The room was clean and tidy with a kettle and the usual teas, coffees, milk and Millie's chocolates. There isn't parking but we soon found on street parking, went out for something to eat in the evening and there was plenty of space when we returned. Breakfast was amazing, I had the full vegetarian breakfast and my partner had the full English breakfast - there was enough to keep us going all day, and it was all freshly made. There was no rush for us to leave, and even though the tea room was closed when we left we were still able to buy some chocolates to take home - delicious!

My wife and I visiting this lovely abode today. What an absolute delight - fragrant samosa with a pomegranate salad.I am an absolute cuisine junkie of Asian food, however there are home made chocolates and scones and jam/ honey as well. What particularly attracted my attention to the ambience was the fact the lovely patrons spent time explaining their culinary form as we sat close to them.We live in unprecedented times in particular as we return to some normality after lock down.I must say Millies is a definite jewel in the crown for Hayfield.Dr John Hewitt

Clean, tidy, warm, nice rooms.Breakfast is different and not to everyone’s taste, but the Kayas breakfast is good.Sadly today an hour long wait for breakfast has pulled our overall score down.Only other issue is there is no designated parking, so you can end with a long trek with your suitcase!

We headed for here to have a coffee and a cake before setting off on the next 10-mile section of the Boundary Walk to Glossop, on a chilly and cloudy day with lots of rain forecast - just the day when you need something warming first. We'd checked out Millie's via the website and it looked lovely, but when we arrived it was very clearly closed. We asked at the village store a couple of doors away and heard that this often happened, and we heard the same at the other cafe in the village too. A real shame the owners can't update their website to avoid disappointing potential customers - whatever the reason is, and it may be a good one of course. If you've got a website, it should be up to date.

We like driving 45 minutes to this sweet little place , well we used to :-/ not sure what's happened maybe the cook has changed but certainly not of the standard it used to be.. Whilst the service is very good , lovely staff helped best she could the food was a major let down and sadly now can't recommend anymore and probably wont be back .. Both the presentation of the food and the quality of the food has taken a nosedive , £8 for a baguette with a small dessert spoon of filling is not good, this place used to give good quality and plentiful food... for the money I expected more what I got wasn't even on par with a G****s baguette and don't eat theirs for £1.50 ... Certainly NOT value for money here ...This is only my own personal opinion as a frequent visitor and can only speak from experience so please make your own mind up .. Thanks for the extra coffee went some way but would have preferred food like you used to serve...

Perfect spot for lunch! We were visiting the area for a walk around Kinder Reservoir and needed somewhere for a late lunch. They stop serving lunch at 3pm but when we entered at 2:58 they were still happy to greet us and take a lunch time order. The food was brilliant - really tasty and the cake was unbelievably good! We each had a tuna melt panini with a delicious side salad followed by Oreo blondie and rocky road. The staff were really friendly and they even do BlueLightCard discount for an added bonus! Would definitely recommend this tea room if you’re in the area.

So, I arrived on new years eve and was booked into the twin room called (lantern pike). En route to the B&B I received a couple of text messages one of them being instructions for the door and the code to use to enter. On entry I was lucky to find the B&B owner busy working in the office and she showed me up to the room. As I put the bags down in the room the owner said if I needed anything then to feel free to ask as she was around for another hour before she left to do some errands.BathroomToilets were clean and setup to a saniflo system, two rolls of loo paper provided too. The basin was clean and there was toothbrush holders and soap holders next to the sink that were clean too. The shower cubicle glass along with the shower tray was clean as well as the floor surrounding it. I used the shower and it was powerful and hot, it didn’t take long to heat up or at least I didn’t notice in the time taken while I went to get a towel from the room and return. BedsNice bed linen with a woodland tree print in my room. The sheets are clean and free of stain, the bed frames are firm and not wobbly. The only down point is the mattress for myself; I have a firm Hypnos at home and on first inspection I thought uh-oh this is going to be a bad night as I have a physique of a rugby player. The following morning, I woke up and was surprised my back was not in pieces as a soft mattress normally is for me. I then carried on towards a hike around Kinder Scout and the reservoir a 13km walk with varying levels and challenges. No light seepage in the room that I stayed in so I had a comfortable night’s sleep, the only negative is the darkened carpet from walkers bringing muddy boots back to the B&B but they are in the process of renovation at the time of reading this review. FoodStart off with the star of the show, the coffee is good not a bitter bean like you can sometimes get. There are a range of options, from breakfast to lunch. The food was cooked well for breakfast; I had the eggs hollandaise and the eggs were runny in the middle the way I like them. In reference to lunch I asked for something not on the menu to see if the B&B would oblige. Surprisingly, the owner asked me how I wanted the toasted sandwich made. This to me speaks volumes that Millie’s is a business that doesn’t like disappointing their customer and are up for a challenge if they have the time. Initially I was a bit apprehensive after reading a recent review by a lady I shall call H with the endless problems she faced. Long and short I honestly believe that H is some sort of hypochondriac prepared to exaggerate on details yet alone fabricate them (less of this for now). There are also some other negative reviews that I feel are uploaded by other reviewers to hinder the positive image of the business. If you are reading this the only advise that I can give is to give Millie’s a try it’s a pleasant escape especially after driving for a few hours to get there for me. More importantly if you are a walker than it is ideally located for walks just up the road from it.Overall an 8/10.

The staff were very knowledgeable about local walks and very friendly in offering us advice and recommendations. The highlight of the trip has to be the food. We went here for a breakfast having enjoyed them here in the past. After being seated, we were surprised to find that the menu no longer contained any trace of pork. We were hungry so decided we we would try the alternatives offered, maple cured beef strips instead of bacon, beef and onion sausage, and a veggie alternative to black pudding. Unfortunately, the sausage was cremated, the beef strips sat in a thick layer of grease, and veggie pudding was tasteless. Added to this, cremated mushrooms sat in a thick layer of oil (maybe so we wouldn’t notice how dry they were!), nuked tomatoes were also oily and the hash browns were pale and insipid. Thank heavens for the baked beans and eggs! We like to support local businesses but sorry, we both agreed that this has to be the worst breakfast either of us had ever had. So disappointing.

Last time I called into Millie's I was disappointed with the service. What a difference today! Served by a lovely, welcoming, busy lady. She was so helpful and cheerful. Hot chocolate for the grandchildren was spectacular. We all chose different breakfast meals but mine was far the best! An Indian breakfast full of flavour and spices. We have ate at Millie's several times, whenever we visit Hayfield. This is the first time since new ownership. We waited 50 minutes for our breakfast to be cooked. Delicious when it arrived, but we waited far too long. I had drank my coffee and had to order a second, by the time our breakfast was served. And the tea room wasn't busy. It seems as though the young chef worked alone, and we were so hungry by the time it arrived. The young waitress lacked experience, there was very little communication from her. Not her fault, I think she needs an adult to work with her. Not the experience we are used to from Millie's.

A cup of weak, lukewarm hot chocolate on its own £3.00!!!! Daylight robbery! What more can I say? Most places you pay £2.50 to include cream & marshmallow.

I booked 2 rooms for 1 night in November several months ago only to be rang today to be told we would have to book 2 nights or lose the booking. This is disgusting as the gentleman ever told us this on day of booking even sent email confirming it. Seems unfair to try to force customers to book like this. That information was not on the website nor was I told this until today. Very bad practice!!!

Great for a special, traditional, afternoon tea and for general lunch, tea & cake visits! The teacakes, in particular, are worth the visit alone. Plus, what's not to love about free samples of the home made chocolates offered with your coffee/tea and cake?? And I can seldom leave without buying a few dark chocolate crystallised ginger chocolates and the occasional mile chocolate turkish delight. Yum.

Millie's is a lovely tea room. We got a complementary chocolate with our coffee and tea. They got nice cakes as well, for a good price. The staff is very friendly. An extra plus for us was that the tea room was open until 4.30 pm, while others close at 4.00 pm.

This is a really nice tea/coffee shop, with scrubbed pine tables, local artwork on the walls and handmade chocolate and fudge for sale. There's a good choice of cake/breakfast /lunch options; the coffee is very good and you get a complimentary chocolate with your bill (much nicer than an After Eight, or Elizabeth Shaw mint!).

As ever the food was lovely. The only thing that spoilt it for me was the rather sharp attitude of a young member of staff which I noticed towards myself and other people. Certainly not service with a smile which is what people want when they come out.

Visited earlier today as a repeat customer. Busy. Told pushchair would be in the way; I was in the process of bringing my 10 week old out of their pram to collapse. It wasn't the message, rather the way it was constructed; very rude and insensitive. Walked straight out and went elsewhere, and won't be returning.

Had delicious breakfast here with good quality ingredients. Even came with hot drink choice and a complimentary free chocolate truffle. Excellent coffee cake. Hot chocolate was okay but a bit weak for my taste. Lovely handmade chocolates and fudge.

Having received a box of delicious truffles from Millie's as a gift, I wanted to get some for a friend, so it was a great excuse to meet with my parents for a coffee and a chat. It was mid morning so we just had coffee and shared a couple of toasted tea cakes but I have to say the breakfast menu sounded delicious.I drink my coffee black and it is very rare that I ever get a cup of coffee that meets my expectations. This coffee was by far the best I have had anywhere in the U.K. recently let alone a small place like Hayfield. Really strong, robust and full flavoured - no need for an extra shot here!No complaints either over the toasted tea cake but the real star of the show was the complimentary chocolate truffles. Wow.I will definitely go back to Millie's. Yes the service was a little slow but what's the rush, and I definitely need to try the veggie breakfast with halloumi with my excellent coffee.

Had coffee and cakes here. Service was excellent and there was plenty of space for our group of 4, even though the café was busy. The cakes all looked delicious and it was difficult to choose. I opted for Bakewell Tart, others had Victoria sponge. Coffee (flat white) was nice but would have been better made with whole milk. The home made chocolates on display looked lovely; they brought us one free with our drinks and they were indeed lovely.

We've eaten here a number of times for breakfast and lunch the food is amazing. I thoroughly recommend the full English breakfast. Great value for money in my opinion. One thing that irks me at other establishments is the amount of butter they give you for toast, there's never enough however this is not the case at Millie's lots of butter per slice. Complementary chocolates with coffee is a very nice touch.Cannot fault this place the staff are lovely and very attentive, we also took our very well behaved puppy, who was also made welcome by the staff. Would definitely reccomend Millie's as the place to go for food or coffee

On entering its clean, with nice wooden tables and chairs. The staff were friendly and helpful. It's a lovely little shop. I had goats cheese salad followed by gooseberry crumble and a cappuccino they kindly gave me a chocolate with it which was very nice. It's a must visit.

We stayed two nights at the b&b - rooms clean and comfortable - however too close together with very thin walls , constant door noise of people coming and going First day breakfast took over an hour to arrive which I ate on my own as my partners breakfast was forgotten - breakfast presented really well and was on the whole tasty apart from the poached eggs - tasted of vinegar The breakfast on our second day however couldn't have been nicer and service was quick

Food is great. Atmosphere great. Service a bit of a let down. No check back. No asking if we wanted anymore drinks. Not offered dessert menu. Getting sauces, salt etc in sachets (not enough) when paying that much for food is a let down.

Had an excellent Sunday lunch served by Jasmine, who was friendly and very efficient and catered for all our needs. Would highly recommend The Bulls Head for a meal.
