Very disappointed that the sea bass only came with new potatoes, what ever happened to healthy eating and having some other veg with it as standard? Which is what I would expect at any restaurant and not have to order separately, otherwise the meal would've scored 5 points as what I got was very tasty but not worth £12

Food quite good, although the chicken and the beef in our burgers were overcooked and very dry. However, the service was very poor. We had to wait 50 minutes from placing our order to being delivered. Really not good enough.

Visted for an early dinner with uor four legged friend who was very welcome inside. The view from inside looking out to see was beautiful. As it was earlyish at 6pm , we did not have to wait long for our order to be served. The food was fresh and delicious. Can highly reccomend the salt & pepper squid, cod bites and rump steak - all cooked to perfection!. The service was also very friendly and efficient.

We have been here several times with family, but what has happened? One person asked if they could have a scrambled egg instead of fried but was told only if they wanted to order it as an extra portion. The breakfast was lukewarm warm, there was an abundance of staff but few customers, the tea came without milk and when we finally caught someone’s attention, it took ages to come. I collected condiments from a nearby table myself as we hadn’t got any. The waitress asked how the food was when we asked for the bill and when we told her the it wasn’t very good as it was cold, she just said oh. No apology. We would think twice about coming here again which is a shame because it used to be our breakfast place of choice.

Went into this place for a drink and snack,it isn’t clear where you order from as you walk in,a nice girl asked me over to where she was serving she asked what I wanted,I asked for tea and an almond slice, she didn’t understand what I meant..suddenly this large lady butted in,I presume she was in charge, not a smile on her face, barked at me what did I want,I pointed to the almond slices...anyway I found her abrupt and rude and maybe she should become a prison guard instead of dealing with the public........we won’t return...

I have visited Millie's many time's with my family, and the food is lush! But after being on lockdown for four months, I thought it would be nice to re-visit once they opened again.... It was with dismay that not one member of staff was wearing a mask while serving at the tables, and everyone seemed to be carrying on as normal!! The same goes for St Mildred's bay café next to Millie's! For that reason, I will not set foot in these establishments again due to their callous thoughtless behaviour to the serious Covid 19 situation.....

We have been visiting Millie's since it opened every time we visit Westgate on Sea - usually 3-4 times a year and the food and service has always been brilliant.Given current COViD restrictions we ventured to Westgate on Sea for the first time this year and were wary about eating indoors but it always looks so airy and it wasn't busy. We visited last Thursday mid afternoon. There was sanitiser on arrival which 2 families in front of me failed to use and they weren't asked to use it. Tables were spaced apart which was reassuring. We sat in the window overlooking the sea and the whole of the floor was covered in dead flies. More than one days worth in my opinion too......The table was cleaned on arrival for us but the highchair was filthy, chocolate stains on it. Not what you want to be seeing at the moment of heightened cleanliness.Staff were not wearing masks when coming to the table, the bar didn't have any screening as I have seen in all other shops and eateries I have visited. What was most disturbing though was that the chef wasn't wearing a mask at all and he was on view of the restaurant. The food was very disappointing too, we had simple scampi and chips and a burger. Partner said burger was ok but in hindsight and judging from tummy ache that evening I think that the scampi needed a few extra mins. The chips that were obviously twice cooked were literally sticks of hard fat and were barely edible. We left very disappointed after having so many previous lovely visits. Hoping this is a temporary issue for Millie's as it used to be so great.

We had two lovely meals at Millies Bar yesterday, we set off from a rainy Bexleyheath and almost turned round mid journey due to the awful driving conditions! Thankfully we didn't as the Weather in Westgate was perfect. We had booked a table for 11 people for breakfast, all ordering different meals, all food came out together and was lovely, we spent the DAY on the beach which we didn't expect (weather was on our side) so we decided to have our evening meal back in Millies before heading home, again we all ordered different meals, all came out hot and we were all completely satisfied, the dessert menu looked amazing so we finished off with pudding, the portion sizes were more than generous, two really enjoyable meals. The staff were all friendly and Jo the owner took the time to draw up a seat and have a chat which was lovely. The place was busy both times and had a lovely vibe. We will definitely be heading back soon.

Stopped off for a bite to eat and a some drinks with my son and daughter (who is in an electric wheelchair). We went and were met by a look of confusion from the staff when we asked to sit inside. We were told that as.my daughter was in a wheelchair we could not sit at any of the available tables (of which there were 6) due to Covid as we would obstruct access. We asked if a chair could be moved so she could sit at a different table which was completely out of the way. The answer was 'no because of Covid and access but she can sit outside!' As it was hot we went on to the patio area. I ordered the drinks but the girl taking the order was more interested in talking to her friend and asked me three times what my order was. Overall the staff are disinterested and they have obviously never heard of the Equalities Act or are happy to breach it! I suggest that they invest in some training! I will be taking my custom elsewhere in future as this attitude to wheelchairs is outdated.

This manager Jo needs some mood stabilizers.... We have been in previously and had a nice conversation with her on a personal level. However, our visit this week was completely different! It was a beautiful warm and sunny spring day so we popped in for a quick drink. The outside area was busy with people wanting to enjoy the sun and view.My boyfriend made 2 attempts at conversation with her to be rudely brushed off.I was sitting outside and she stormed around, picked up glasses and loudly saying "I thought people were meant to be staying at home". (Social distancing in place with the coronavirus)I mean you run a bar/restaurant, surely you're happy to have customers?!It was 5pm, she rudely told the lady next to us "for your information, we are shutting at 3pm for the rest of the week".We all agreed we would not return.Felt very VERY unwelcome.

This review covers two visits, the first late last summer and the second just after Christmas. First the BAD NEWS!!!!! We walked down to Millies last summer with a couple of friends, even though we had stopped going due to the previous attitude of the owner and the state of the place. We sat outside just as a large party left the table. It was covered in plates with the remnants of their meal and lots of half filled glasses along with a pool of melted ice cream under the table. I told our friends it would probably take half an hour for it to be cleaned - was wrong it only took 25 minutes! The pool of ice cream was not touched. All this time the owner was parked on a table chatting to people totally oblivious to the state of the place ( there were several tables in the same state).Fast forward to just after Christmas. A bright, sunny afternoon and we decided to go for a walk. As we passed a very busy Millies we thought lets just have one. I went to the bar while the wife went to a table near the front where people were getting up. As i waited at the bar a young waitress went up to the table to tell my wife she could not sit there. My wife pointed out there was no reserved sign only to be told there were people waiting ( i don't know where ). As this was taking place the owner bustled pst saying ' oh this could be trouble'. The good lady wife conducted herself very well, bit her tongue gave me the nod and we walked out. The rudest owner i have met in one of the grubbiest bars i have been in and i've been in a few! will not be seeing us ever again unless it is sold on to someone who has some idea how to look after a bar and treat people with a modicum of respect. Now for the GOOD NEWS!!!! Apparently Pavs cafe, opposite, has been bought by a local guy who has plenty experience of the trade and intends to turn it into a bar. This should be a great alternative to the other place and if his prices are only a little more reasonable than them it can only succeed. Good Luck to him.

We have a holiday home in Westgate and visit local restaurants and bars regularly including Millie's .The food is generally good, the drink as you would expect and the staff are also generally very obliging. It's the owner you need to avoid! She can be aggressive and unhelpful. I suspect that all the negative comments on Trip Advisor are referring to encounters with the owner - which is a bit strange, really. As regards dogs, there is a sign that has been long up beside the entrance (up the ramp to the main entrance) that says that dogs are welcome provided they stay on the floor. That is reasonable, in my opinion. Just one other comment: It would be nice if the management (and the management of many other establishments, for that matter) could get a lesson in English grammar. Numerous erroneous apostrophes are incredibly irritating. It's not "toilet's" - it's "toilets", for example.

The most miserable woman in the world works here. You’d think to work in a cafe you’d like people....or at the very least find them tolerable. We went on a Saturday morning, prime coffee/brunch time and the place was almost empty-it didn’t take long to find out why. Before we all went in my husband popped in while I waited outside to check it was ok to bring our dogs in and was told that was fine, so I came in with the dogs and the vile old battle axe immediately bore down upon us to let us know our dogs weren’t welcome. I said ok we’ll leave and started to walk out, she then followed me to the door to continue to have a go at me for coming in with the dogs. She then also had a go at my husband for not reading the sign on the door, my husband pointed out that there wasn’t a sign on the door and he had in fact checked with a member of staff and been told it was ok to bring the dogs in, to which she responded he’d come in the wrong door and continued to harangue him as he left. I’m 5 months pregnant and we had our 11 month baby old baby with us, we were just a family looking to go for breakfast, the level of aggression and rudeness was completely unwarranted and I found the experience quite upsetting. We will NEVER return here again, she’s a truly nasty piece of work!

Stopped off after walk along front for coffee had dog with us and knew this place was dog friendly. We hadn’t noticed the sign which stated that dogs couldn’t go in on a Sunday and was quite abruptly told this sternly as we opened door. As we waited for our drinks I watched the blonde waitress stuffing her mouth full of food and chewing it as she walked out orders. Another couple with dogs where then shouted at by another staff member because her dog was on her lap on the outside tables. I won’t be giving this place my money any more that’s for sure. Loads of reviews about staff rudeness on here that I have read and can totally believe after what I witnessed today.

Asked if the halloumi cheese in the veggie burger was vegetarian and the waitress went off to ask someone and then said of course it is its cheese. I explained that that is not always true and asked to see the packaging. Included in the ingredients was rennet which is an animal product, I pointed this out said this should not be sold as a vegetarian product and was met with a 'whatever' attitude. they were very accommodating though and made a' burger' with mushroom, courgette and red pepper which was delicious, the chips and sides were also very good. Was also told that its down to customer to check that something being advertised as a veggie burger was in fact suitable for vegetarians!!! Also there was nothing else on the menu that was vegetarian other than some tapas such as bread and olives.

Visited last night with two friends and a small well behaved king Charles cavalier. We arrived just after six and it was very busy, which was nice to see. Only table available was situated just inside, next to the open doors which lead to the outside seating area (which was also full). We were happy to sit and chat whilst we waited for our order to be taken (approximately 20 minutes). A friendly young waitress apologised for the wait and took down our food and drinks order. After approximately another ten minutes, whilst walking past to take food to another table, the owner stopped at our table and told us abruptly that dogs aren't allowed inside after six, and gestured to a poster which is apparently displayed somewhere in the building. I explained that I have visited twice within the past three months, both times after six and had sat inside and not been told this. She then told me that couldn't have happened, as if I'd made it up! I explained that perhaps it was on nights she herself hadn't been there, but still no apology. The young waitress next to her (who had said nothing whilst taking our order down) looked terribly embarrassed. She then went on to point at the gap behind my friends chair (which was outside) and said the dog could go there, meaning I'd eat my meal with an outstretched arm whilst keeping him on the lead for the duration of our meal. We said we would go somewhere else and were then treated to her storming off saying "whatever" as she went. Apparently what is perfectly OK though, is for the gentleman on the table next to us to be sitting with his chair half inside the restaueand half outside, smoking a cigarette!! Never have any of us experienced such an appalling attitude. A real shame as food is good but will never go back.

Unfortunately, the owner really needs a visit from Gordon Ramsay. Hospitality is a calling, and this business is not operated by someone who should answer said call. From a service pount of view, being rude and abrupt is something that can be worked on as it soured the trip & had no problem walking out. Upon paying for drinks, hearing the owner's critiscm of other customers ensures we will not be back. From a business perspective, holding a cover from before 4pm until the booking as 6 is business suicide. Covers need to be turned over & generating revenue at every opportunity.

Visit westgate every year on the anniversary of my nans death, due to it being her fav place.apart from 1 table full of guests and a reserved table no one else was in there! entered this place 2 buggies, 7 chairs needed! They sat us next too a table full of proper armchairs, and on top of a reserved table, so when the tables guests turned up the young girl then collapsed our table down and told me to move one of my buggies! Had to wait 10 mins for chips because they don’t serve food before 12!... was given an option of J20 ordered blackcurrent... received orange and when said about it was told oh I’ve opened that one now..... End of the day we tried to get a coffee - out of hot drink due to the coffee machine now being turned off at 5:30 when they shut at 6! Ridiculous, crazy, rude service and extreme prices! Will never return!

We literally stumbled across Millie’s Bar as we were walking along the seafront in Westgate. We decided to drop in and eat on our way to the theatre in Margate. Staff were helpful finding us a table inside. Food was great and reasonably priced. I had battered sea bass fillet (a first) and my wife had cod goujons both served with chunky chips and tartare sauce. Both meals were delicious. We will definitely return.

Waited about 15 minutes after ordering and paying for 1 cup of Americano and 1cup of decaf with hot milk. When it arrived, we had cold milk with 1 cup of coloured water which didn't taste remotely of coffee, and 1 cup of extremely strong instant decaf. We couldn't drink either.

I went to Millie’s yesterday with my friends and dog , my first and last visit, I found the staff to be rude and very unhelpful, I went to the cafe opposite called pavs, my god what a difference, so helpful and friendly and I found the food far better than Millie’s, try pavs, and I’m sure you will be so happy you will never use Millie’s again

Had lunch here today with a friend. Had a great table with a good view of the sea. We both had the beef burger which was excellent. My friend had pecan pie which she said was very good & I had the lemon meringue pie. The bottle of Gavi de Gavi was rather good to. We spent over two hours there & weren’t rushed at all. The staff were very pleasant. Looking forward to visiting again especially on a nice summers evening. Would have been 5* except that the meringue on my pudding was not as light as I would like it. Does not put me off eating there again.

Visited early yesterday evening. Really great looking cafe/bar with great outside seating. Ordered drinks and snack food from the cafe. The diet coke tasted like the mixture was wrong. Basically just soda water. Also the food didn't arrive which seemed to be a miscommunication between staff.

I love this place! The view is great, the food is good and the atmosphere is delightful. The staff that work here are always greeting me with a smile, and the food is always SOOO good! I have had one bad experience here but it wasn’t with the food or drink, my Nan and I were here for celebratory drinks and sat at a table for about an hour (food and 2 rounds of drinks brought) my Nan upped for the loo quick while I was still eating and noticed a sign being placed on the table I was sat on by on of their young staff but I wasn’t acknowledged.. I looked at the sign and (the time was 2.45) there was a reservation at 3.. this made me feel a little uncomfortable as there was no problem that we needed to leave or move table but to be told would be nice, respectful and common courtesy? Anyway.. apart from that I love it here and I can’t fault it any other way! I highly recommend and it’s a great asset to Westbrook beach!

We regularly pop in for a drink and more recently food. The burgers are excellent and much better than I would have expected. We recently had the Sunday Roast. I had Beef and my wife had the Pork. Both were cooked nicely and there was plenty of food. The owners have got the balance just right to cater for the casual dog walker to someone wanting a little more. Good luck to you all.

Walked here from Margate at low tide, played frisbee and explored the beaches on the way, during the hottest Feb day on record. Nice pint, designer Gin& Tonic, Good coffee, kids menu burger was good. Seared Tuna and salad was tasty but let down by being overcooked to my taste. My own fault for not double checking the way it was cooked as I tend to expect seared tuna rare, but with lemon was fine. If anyone from management is reading, perhaps use pitted olives.

My husband and I took a long walk along the beach front and just arrived at Millies Beach Bar which looked a great place for lunch and so my husband I walked in and stood at the bar to ask for a menu.. After being ignored for the best part of 5 minutes and the last glass the lady was drying was done we were finalĺy acknowledge. No smile. No hello. So we asked to see a menu. Not difficult you would have thought. The women server said you can see a menu but there are no tables in here. We wanted to eat outside and there were empty tables!!! After that rather abrupt greeting and such rudness it rather put me off eating in Millies so we went to the old fashioned cafe across the road where we were served with a smile. I really wish i could review the food which im sure will be good. That's if we ever come back.

Thank you for letting me bring a group of friends to a private party on New Years Eve. The buffet was excellent and the service and hospitality was exceptional. We really had a fantastic night. Unfortunatly a couple of uninvited guests turned up and said they were part of our party but i had no idea who they were! I dont think they were pleased to be asked to leave. Thankyou Joanne and your excellent team of staff for a great NYE 2018. I wish you the best of luck for 2019

I have never in my life experienced someone so rude or so unapproachable, the female who owns this place is sadly very quickly being known locally for her good food and outstandingly rude manners. So she has a good chef and thinks that entitles her to be blatantly rude to customers!!! I will never go back to this place and since visiting have heard lots of others say the same. If you want good food with a smile, find another venue as sadly that won't happen here :(

I celebrated my 70th birthday party at Millie's Bar last weekend and had a wonderful night. The setting was perfect and the owner Jo laid on a wonderful buffet full of fresh delicious bites that went down a treat. I had a Motown singer Uche Eke who was fantastic and added to the atmosphere of this perfect setting. Jo made sure my family and I were looked after and had a great night! Thank you. Tina X

Awful service.... I sat down and waited 10 mins, no member of staff acknowledged me, despite a middle aged woman member of staff walking past me twice. She was more interested in cutting lemons at the bar than attending to the people that pay her wages. So, I got up and walked out. Hope it goes bust sometime soon, it deserves to. Shame I have to give it 1 star, as that is over rating it.

Visited today for a late breakfast and we were not disappointed. There were tables spare and we were warned of a wait for hot food, but ours came within a reasonable time. Large All-Day Breakfast of sausage/.bacon/poached eggs/beans/large mushroom/hash browns and toast with butter. Quality excellent and served with two butter portions. My wife have chocolate cake, add on a coffee and a hot chocolate and the whole thing was just over £20, excellent value for the quality served!

My daughter can't have dairy or soya, I saw they had 3 vegan flavours on display so then checked with a staff member about ingredients and she was very helpful. The ice cream was really nice and it was good to have a few choices. We'll definitely go there again.

This used to be our favourite wetherspoons and we was here all the time, but sadly has gone down hill in 2024. It has got very dirty, the place is just not tidied up and toilets contantly flooded with piss. It never used to be like this but most of the staff have changed and they just dont seem to care and stand around on their phones. The WiFi stopped working in April and despite me contacting wetherspoons numerous times they have unfortunately ignored it. You can connect but no internet. Collectively we have tried 11 devices all with same issue. Every other spoons I have no problem. They now only use plastic cups every day even when no events are on at dreamland. They do not wash them before use and they make your drink taste funny because you are ingesting microplastics. The street out front is littered with hundreds of these platic cups. The manager told me the council put a restriction on them using glasses and nke they have to onpy use plastic, however after noticing no other pubs in Margate do it I contacted the council, who have said they are lying, there are no special restrictions related to mandating plastic cups at any venue in Margate. They also said they will investigate the use of single use plastics as these are restricted under local licensing in Thanet. I have written to the manager of the wetherspoons direct and he refused to comment. What has annoyed me is why does he feel thr need to lie? Just tell the truth. They wont let you drink out a bottle any more or let you pour your own. They glug it into a glass and spill half of it on the side or throw throw the last drop away. How is it so hard to pour a beer? Additionally it is hard to get a full pint now. They rush so much you have 2cm of head on every pint so you never get a full pint. I have reported the short measures to wetherspoons and trading standards with photos and videos. We got lots of apologies from wetherspoons when we complained and a few free drinks but sadly they are still getting worse so we just dont come any more. Most weeks they also kick everyone out before 10pm on a Friday or Saturday because they dont want to work late.

Had 2 fabulous meals here whilst on our holiday. The food is first class every time. A special mention for the Lobster Thermidor which is the best I have ever eaten. The sauce is just amazing - you just have to try it. Fabulous service. Word of warning - if you want to try the Lobster Thermidor, ask to reserve one when you book a table, which is essential to avoid any disappointment. Thanks again. See you next year.
