We arrived to find out that the kitchen was having gas supply problems. However, the lady who took our reservation assured us that it would be up and running soon so we had drinks in the bar. Unsure of which wine to purchase, the barman happily allowed us to try various wines until we selected one. On having our meal, our server Harith was outstanding! His knowledge, attentiveness and attention to detail was second to none and he made our visit top notch! Both food and service was fabulous! We will definitely be returning.

We went for dinner at millar and carter, we had ibby as a waiter ( sorry if spelt wrong ) he was so lovely it made our night it was my birthday a few days ago and he made me a happy birthday plate with chocolate and waffles . It was a lovely experience.

This was our first time at Miller and Carter. We waited over 40 minutes between starters and main. They did not have all the desserts, that were on the menu. The food we had, was presented and cooked very well, for a Tuesday we were disappointed at the wait we experienced.

Our first visit to Miller and Carter and not sure we would rush back. 2.5 hours to do 3 courses is just a tad too long for our liking. Ordered a large g and t which we specifically requested only had a smidge of t arrived with the gin drowning and gasping for life. Initially told there was nothing to be done to rectify but on the 2nd time of asking they kindly took it off the bill. Starters were good, burrata and calmari Calamari was crispy not greasy and not over cooked. Main of chateau briand requested medium rare but a sizeable chunk was bleu. Good flavour on the steak and bearnaise sauce, baby pots were good too. The onion loaf we would ditch from the menu along with the lettuce wedge (don't see the point of the wedge). Onion loaf is a flabby, soggy, greasy cold replacement for Onion rings. We discovered its because its made with gluten free flour as is the chocolate brownie which sticks to your teeth like a rabbit trying to eat a banana. We get the need to cater for dietary requirements but for the % of people who are celiac don't punish everyone else as a result especially on bought in items. Harith our waiter was great, good rapport with customers, happy and confident and he rescued what could have been a really disappointing evening.

Hearty plates of food. Well presented and well cooked. The chefs are great and cooked the steaks perfectly. The waitress was genuinely attentive to detail when it came to allergies and intolerances and took the matter seriously. Her smile was lovely, and communicated well. She clearly loved her job. It's a smart restaurant and is clean, tidy, and presented well on the decoration front.

We were greeted and wished Happy Anniversary on arrival at the entrance to the restaurant and by our fantastic waitress Magdalena. The service was excellent and the Butchers Block was cooked to perfection. A nice little touch on our desert plate to top it off. Would recommend a visit.

Seven of us had a lovely Father’s Day lunch here. Our waitress Marina was brilliant; attentive and friendly to exactly the right amount. We all enjoyed our food, especially the delectable beef dripping sauce and onion loaf! Accessibility is better than lots of places, I think it was step-free and there was a disabled toilet on the ground floor. Mum loved her vegetarian meal but found her chair a bit hard though! We’ll definitely eat here again.

You can improve in a lot of things, like employing people that are not standing in a place chatting and using there phones while customers are waiting at the table with their food made wrong and not having anyone to ask for things to be done right. I would not eat there again. You will take 50/50 chance in having your food done right and at those prices I wouldn't want to risk it. No to mention that no one at any time asked why I haven't eat my stake.

Shockingly bad, Ive always been a good customer but you have lost me now. A waitress who couldn't pronounce the names of the beers on the menu so we had to read them off her pad, not having anything children can draw on (a crayon / pencil and a piece of paper)...its father's day were you not expecting children? Ordered a carrot, cucumber and cherry tomatoes with humus starter for my daughter, a plate with 4 measly unpeeled(!) carrot quarters and a bit of hummus turned up. Asked the waitress (another one) what is that and why were we not told you basically don't have that menu item. She just said 'I dont know'. We asked for small plates for our camembert starter. They never came so we had crumbs all over our table the whole evening. Mains came, had to ask for a steak knife for our order of steak (again was this not expected), asked for ketchup, turned up basically as we were finishing. Side order of green veg was inedible - the beans were so hard I cannot see how anyone can claim they had seen a pan. And the waitress got the order wrong so we had to return chips we never ordered. All in all, bad. And by judging the tables around us, we were not the only unhappy ones!

It was our first time dining here. All the staff there were friendly and welcoming. Very clean restaurant. Our Server Harith was really the star! Had a lot of tables in his section, a lot of people to serve but kept his cool and humor to all his guests. Seems like they were short of staff that day. They needed runners and extra hands but the whole team and manager on duty pulled it off. The two chefs did a very good job handling the busy service. The steak and food were amazing and plated beautifully on a platter. Starters were also very good. Only downside was the apple pie, as it was stone cold in the middle. But the rest was good. Will be visiting there again, highly recommended.

First and last time visiting. The mains took 1 hour 15mins to arrive and arrived cold, unfortunately the food had to be sent back with a further short wait for its replacement. The waitress overcharged me also, the manager applied a refunded for the additional payment. I had heard bad reviews in relation to the Aylesbury Miller and Cater, you guys sure live up to your reputation.

Upon arriving at the restaurant on a quiet weekday evening, my partner and I were rudely instructed to wait for 15 minutes without any semblance of an apology, despite there being vacant seats available. It's understandable that tables need to be cleaned, but the inconsistency in seating times was baffling. The couple before us was seated immediately and departed shortly thereafter, leaving us questioning why we were made to wait unnecessarily. To compound matters, the manager on duty displayed a shocking lack of professionalism and customer service. When approached about the lengthy wait and the absence of an apology, she was dismissive and outright refused to offer any form of apology. Such behavior is unacceptable in any establishment, let alone one claiming to provide a quality dining experience. However, it wasn't all bleak. Despite the managerial debacle, a blonde server attended to us with kindness and professionalism. Her pleasant demeanor was a stark contrast to the manager's attitude, and her efforts were duly appreciated. In fact, her service was the only redeeming aspect of an otherwise disappointing evening. In conclusion, my experience at Miller and Carter was marred by poor management and a lack of basic courtesy. While the server we encountered deserves commendation, it's clear that the restaurant's management needs significant improvement to meet even the most basic standards of customer service.

Well, let me tell you, , the manager in the restaurant made my dining experience horrible I mean, seriously, it was a complete nightmare. We walked into that restaurant, and it felt like we were invisible for a solid 10 minutes. And when we finally got someone's attention, they had the nerve to tell us there were no tables available, even though the place was practically empty! But the real kicker was the manager's attitude. They were downright rude and dismissive, making excuses about being short-staffed and some supposed problem in the back. It was just unacceptable. No apologies, no attempt to make things right. It left such a sour taste in my mouth. Thankfully, the only saving grace was the delicious food and that one attentive staff member who actually cared. But overall, it was a major letdown, to say the least. 😡👎

We came as a birthday lunch for me. We rarely eat out and save it for special occasions as money is tight. We have visited you before on special occasions and enjoyed our food. My husband had sticky chipotle chicken and the dirty burger. He said both were absolutely delicious!! My 6 year old daughter had garlic bread to start and then fish fingers chips and peas. The waiter was very obliging when we asked for the garlic bread to come without cheese. The garlic bread came as requested and she enjoyed it. However, she didn’t enjoy the fish fingers at all. They were anemic in colour when they arrived so they appeared like they needed to be cooked for longer but when they weee tasted, the batter was very crispy and hard. Refusing to eat it, my husband had to coax her by removing the batter from the fish and putting that aside so she could eat the fish. I ordered prawn and avocado cocktail to start and fillet steak with pepper corn sauce, chips and a wedge with honey mustard and bacon dressing. The prawn cocktail was extremely bland. It didn’t have mari rose sauce on it, it was just prawns, avocado and lettuce. I added salt and pepper to give it some flavour but it was extremely lacking. Worse was to come though. From where we sat, I could see the chefs preparing food. I could see a single plate of food on the pass for quite some time. Turns out that was mine, as I later saw the chef add a steak to the plate and a pot of fries and then lift up my husbands burger and daughters fish fingers. The plate must have had the onion thing and the tomato on it, going cold. Not ideal! When it arrived at the table, the steak looked gorgeous! I added the chips to my plate and poured the ‘pepper corn sauce’ all over my dinner. Unfortunately for me, the pepper corn sauce I ordered must have got lost in translation and was replaced with beef dripping, without my knowledge or agreement. It was beyond salty and over powering and it ruined my dinner. The beautiful looking steak was under cooked and was more rare than medium rare but I could live with that. It was the wrong sauce that ruined my dinner. By the time the waiter came back to check everything was ok, a good 10 minutes had passed and my husband and daughter were well into their meal. He did apologize for the mistakes but wasn’t overly apologetic. He did offer to change my meal but I said I would rather not wait for another to be cooked and then eat my birthday meal on my own, so i battled on with the meal I had, slowly. I didn’t see him go and give feedback to the kitchen which is the minimum I would have expected. The onion thing and tomato thing were cold as expected as they’d been sat under a hot lamp too long. The lettuce wedge was inedible as it was absolutely swimming in the most disgusting vinegary, sharp dressing. It was beyond excessive. I ate most of my meal as it wasn’t cheap. If it had come out as requested and all been hot, it would no doubt have been delicious. However, it didnt and it wasnt. No discount was offered by the waiter and not was any other form of apology such as an offer of a free drink. It’s a real shame and might have changed my opinion at least. My experience wasn’t great, more so because it was my birthday. Oh and when we ordered our drinks, we both wanted draft beer but we were told it was bottled beers only due to a problem with the gas. Annoying!

We have eaten here many times over the last 6 ish years since this M&C has been open. I've deleted my original 5 star review from when it first opened to replace it with this. Over the years the service has dramatically gone downhill. The worst visit included all of these issues, 1 of the 4 diners only getting their meal after the other 3 had finished, and the meal that was brought out was the wrong order so had to wait even longer for it to arrive. Pre dinner cocktails never arriving, and having asked for them 3 times. Wine ordered to come with the main meal didnt get brought out until after the main courses were finished, again we had to ask for it 3 times during the meal. This absolutle shambles of service completely wrecked a birthday celebration, there was no apology from the wait staff for any of these errors. Avoid! Don't risk ruining a special occation here.

We first visited M&C in Berryfields when it first opened and it was okay. My partner was lucky enough to get a voucher, so we went back today. OMG! Totally different experience. Was seated very quickly. Our host was Marina, who was absolutely brilliant. Everything was done with a smile. The food was delicious and well cooked. We both had steak. I like my steak blue/rare and it was perfect. We also had a couple of cocktails which were delicious. Will definitely be going back and would recommend

No, there are no such things. I personally really like meat, and if it's meat, then it's better to have something good, I asked the waitress to surprise me, because I've really tried quite a few meat restaurants and I've been disappointed, listen, the waitress was not only enthusiastic about the idea of surprising the customer, she was also super kind, super funny, let her be Easy for our taste, she just did it gracefully and the dish was phenomenal I loved it!!!! And of course I will be back soon!!!!!

Miller and Carter – Berryfields, Aylesbury – Tuesday 2nd April 2024 – Lunch Time – pre-booked. Pre-Booked table for four people for 1:15pm. Advised at the reception that as we had arrived some 15 minutes early we would not be able to place our order until the elected time of 1:15pm and in the meantime we could order some drinks. At 1:15pm or thereabouts we placed our orders. For the lunchtime menu you had a choice of two or three courses. One party asked for Calmari as a starter but told they did not have any so they just ordered a main meal from the larger menu instead. The order was taken, but within few minutes later, as two of our party had ordered food that required boiled potatoes, we were advised that only one portion of boiled potatoes was available, so we had to elect which would have mashed potatoes instead. After an absolute age the one starter we ordered eventually arrived whilst we others waited that out until the main courses arrived, which themselves took an extremely long time, perhaps due to only having one chef working in the kitchen. Yes - At some point we understood from our server that they only had one chef and we could also see they had very few other staff as well; and the restaurant was extremely quiet, apparently after their Easter rush. As a pre-cursor to the main courses, I should mention here that the wedge of lettuce, for our steak eater, arrived some considerable time before any of the mains finally did: perhaps as something for us to comment upon, generally to look at, and to further while away the time I suppose? My main’s ‘green’ vegetable came as three large pieces of broccoli, which I cannot eat, and in fact I had chosen this dish because the menu stated that it came with beans; and in fact I had already discounted another alternative possibility which did come with broccoli. I did explain to the server that I could not eat broccoli and was much hoping for the beans that were as advertised. The server said that we had been told at the same time earlier that we were informed about the boiled potatoes issue that also there were no beans. None of us recalled that element of that earlier discussion and clearly there had been no offer of any alternative to beans at that time. My broccoli was passed to my grateful neighbour, and I was offered and accepted some peas in lieu of the beans; which I resigned to accept would likely arrive just in time for the puddings, but I was pleasantly surprised that they were soon with me, actually in good time to be added to the remains of my meal to enjoy, which I did. Having had such a inordinately long wait through the two courses so far we did enquire that if any of us ordered sweet/pudding that it would arrive in a reasonable time. In response we were asked if we had somewhere we needed to go; as if we were prepared to stay there infinitum, but we said we had nothing so urgent. In fact we could well have popped into one of two local garden centres, prior to our return to base, but that now was already off the cards. Our server explained that the wait would not be long as they would organise the sweets themselves. Having earlier deferred my second course as a pudding I was decided on the apple pie and ice cream: but :Sorry we do not have any of the apple pie left”. If I’d know that at the outset I’d have had a starter instead; but here we were now having a choice of just three out of the four sweets originally available. I crossed my fingers that they still had some Crème Brûlée left, which they did. It was eventually only myself having a sweet and when it arrived it was stone cold. I know that it should come with a cold custard base but the top sugar coating should be heated just prior to serving, which also warms the top of the custard slightly too, but that was certainly not the case here. At the same time we asked for the bill. There appeared to be all sorts of problems in producing the bill in a correct/accurate form but by the third, or was it even fourth, attempt we were provided with two bills. One for those two who had just one course and the other for the two of us that had two courses. That process itself took a considerable time to sort out. We finally paid up and left, feeling extremely disappointed with the whole meal saga, in all its elements of disappointments, misinformation and yawning delays. Including the stipulated delay to defer our food ordering by some 15 minutes into our stay, we were in the restaurant for about 2 hours 10 minutes. For a restaurant with hardly any customers, even accounting for the very poor staffing level, it was difficult to justify the time the meal process had taken. All in all a very disappointing meal at Miller and Carter, Berryfields.

Ordered online to collect at a certain time had to wait extra 20 minutes the restaurant was dead had only two tablets of people !!! Ask for 3 dripping gravy’s one had leaked over the bag no lid on it 2 steaks medium well done Was raw red in the middle was un edible !! Avoid Aylsbury branch !!! I’ve been to Wheathampstead loads and I would rate them 5* Aylsbury is shocking and the staff is shocking they didn’t even no wat brandy was !! And they was working on the bar Please avoid

half the order was missing, the pudding and the wedge and the sauce was all missing, the chips were cold. I have tried to contact just eat customer service without any joy....really unimpressed! You can only raise a complaint for the whole order as apposed to listing which parts of the order was missing. Then I get an email from just eat customer service saying oh it was delivered....NOT ALL OF IT! now there is no where I can complain to.

just note i (ashy) had nothing to do with this We visited last night this place and we were welcomed straight away. Our waitress Iza was incredible and she made my girlfriend's birthday special. The way she treated our autistic teenager son was wonderful. Iza gave him time to choose his drinks and food and was patient with him being distracted and trying to focus. The atmosphere in this restaurant is really lovely and definitely we will come back here 😀 Special thank you to Iza for making this evening special and unforgettable 💕 Kasia

Came for a meal on Saturday 23rd. The food was incredible, really tasty meal. The only thing that let it down was the service :-( our waitress was lovely but they are obviously massively understaffed for a busy Saturday night as we waited for 30 minutes to get a drink and over an hour for our food. When we got there we were asked to wait at the bar for our table, which was fine, but one of the bar staff was literally saying how much he hated working there which made the atmosphere super awkward!! We keep coming back because the food is so nice

I took my girlfriend for a birthday meal. I was so grateful for the friendly and caring service we received to ensure that the night was memorable. I arrived earlier in the day with flowers and balloons and Olivia and her team were so helpful in ensuring they were all set up on the table, along with a personalised birthday card and complimentary dessert. Will definitely be returning for more family nights out.
