Food was top-tier with the excellent service to match. First time visitor so of course I had to get a steak, which didn’t disappoint. I got the Ribeye steak with bone marrow Béarnaise and seasoned chips. Banging! Flavourful, rich and juicy. No complaints. Lastly, I ended on a sticky toffee pudding. It was a bit too sweet but what do you expect. Now on to the service. Shout out to our server, Ibby. One of the best servers I had the pleasure of meeting. Great energy, funny and respectful, truly made it such an comfortable experience. Thank again for the food guys, would come again 👌🏽

What can I say apart from perfect. Harith my waiter was attentive and couldn’t do enough to please. The food was delicious, thank you chefs, my steak was as tender as you could wish for. My birthday non alcoholic drink was recommended and lovely. My only wish knowing I visit every few weeks and also Christmas Day was that the manager would say hello, or thank you or goodbye, or anything in fact. But no, no eye contact and no friendliness. If it wasn’t for the lovely staff and the food and the amazing chefs, I wouldn’t be back.

Stopped off for a meal here, never again. First the glasses came out looking like they had just had a smoothie left to dry inside them, the waitress poured my coke and it fizzed so much it went flat. We ordered château Brea cooked medium with the standard salad and side of “seasoned” chips and garlic mushrooms. We were amazed to watch one of the kitchen staff joking with the waitresses, putting his fingers in his mouth and then going straight to making our salads, tossing them with his hands, gobsmacked! Needless to say we didn’t touch them! The château Brea then arrived and when we cut into it we found it virtually raw, in fact a good vet could have brought it round! We asked for it to be butterflied and cooked more so that it was medium but after waiting another 10 minutes it came back somehow equally rare and I’m not sure anyone understood “butterflied”, even the manager said, “nope that is definitely rare”, I’m no chef but christ, I can cook a simple steak! When our plates came back they had been re-plated so we lost all our mushrooms which no one picked up on. The chips were cold and had no “seasoning” (which is apparently just salt) and the entire evening was a total waste of time. We ate three mouthful’s and decided to leave. I did speak to the manager who was actually a nice guy but obviously by this point wasn’t going to be able to do to much to remedy the situation. Had I been a hygiene inspector I am confident they would have been seriously called out. Needless to say I will never be eating here again. Word of advice, if you can’t teach your staff how to follow the simplest of hygiene rules (or how to cook the one thing you serve), don’t sit diners next to an open kitchen!

I visited the restaurant today for the first time and I will not be returning. The food was alright when it was finally served but for the price we paid the whole experience was below the expected standard. To start as I went to the restroom I overheard a waitresses discussing an issue with another table when one of then quite boldly announced that the issue wasn’t her fault and if another member of staff had a problem with it it’s her fault as she drinks on the job, we should have left then. Then the man who I can only assume was the manager was very rude and unprofessional. He spent the most part of our visit pointlessly wondering round and I overheard him on a number of occasions discussing other customers in a less than pleasant way. The rest of the staff seemed incredibly stressed and it is clearly not a happy work environment. The service was that slow we even considered leaving overall I’m very unhappy with the experience I had.

I was very disappointed with the customer service we received from staff on Valentine’s Day -14th Feb2025. We had a table booked for 5:15, unfortunately we were running late due to traffic and I had called up to inform the staff about this before. They reassured me that they will hold the table for 15 minutes. I arrived at the check in desk at 5:27 but unfortunately had a couple in front of me. When i approached staff to inform them of my booking, one of your colleagues very rudely said that it was 5:30 and they had given away our table. Considering how hard it is to find a restaurant on Valentine’s Day, it was very unprofessional to give away the table when I was in fact within the 15 minute time interval. If you are going to say that you will hold the table for 15 mins… I expect you to respect this policy and offer the table afterwards. I also notice that your team blatantly lied in another review left, related to this booking - stating that we were “20 minutes late”. I truly do not appreciate the dishonestly your team have posted publicly and it comes across as extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. If you would like to dine at a restaurant who values and respects their customers, I would not recommend this restaurant at all.

* this is a response to the the abject lie left below, as I did not originally even feel like giving a reason because I was so angry at the way I was treated. No, we were not 20 minutes late so that is a lie. We were within the allowed 15 minute window and you gave our table to the 2 people stood in front of us while we were in the queue. When we pleaded asking if you had any remaining tables for the night, the employee at the reception was both rude and totally unempathetic, realising how difficult it is to get a table on Valentines.

Restaurant was clean and staff were friendly and accomodating of food allergies. Multiple mistakes were made on our order though and the service was exceptionally slow, despite being mid-week and less than half full. It took 20+ minutes before they even took a drinks order. They brought the side salad for part of the table half an hour before they brought the main. The food, when it arrived, was hot and the steak well cooked (the steak was more medium than medium-rare, but that is me being picky). The portions were generous (even if the salad was literally just a quarter of a lettuce head in a bowl with some dressing). The prices were fairly high considering and frankly I have had steak just as good at pubs in Aylesbury that cost half the price. I could have excused the long waits, or the slow service, or the overpriced food if they were individual issues, but the overall feeling when we left was that whilst a pleasant evening overall, it wasn't worth the cost compared to other options with a similar menu.

I always enjoy visiting Miller and Carter Aylesbury, as their steaks are consistently delicious. However, during our recent Christmas dinner with a family of eight, two of the steaks were unfortunately overcooked, which was quite disappointing. I hope this is addressed, as I’d love to see the usual high standards maintained. Looking forward to my next visit!

The ambiance is lovely and the servers were very friendly and helpful and approachable. I have dietary restrictions and they absolutely went above and beyond to help. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to expectations. Of particular concern, is being served one quarter of lettuce. Under no dictionary that I could find does a salad consist of 1/4 of lettuce! We arrived for a 5:00 p.m. reservation and were finally served our dinner at 7:20 p.m. It's nice enough and the food was acceptable, but I could not recommend it for food or price.

Appalling. Me and my partner visited for New Years Eve. Firstly sat at a small table next to a dark, food stained wall. After being reseated, it took forever to be asked if we wanted drinks and Prosecco (included with the set menu) needed to be prompted otherwise they never would’ve arrived. Prawns to start were overcooked and dry. Ribeye was okay. Partner’s fillet was stringy and extremely chewy. Not sure where M&C are sourcing their meat but it’s definitely changed in recent years. Onion loaf was tepid and tasteless (usually my favourite). The mango pavlova was absolutely fantastic and the highlight of the meal. All in all, it took over 2 and a half hours to get through our meal with staff constantly forgetting to replenish cutlery and not being proactive to even clear the table or ask if we would like any more drinks. We were never asked during the meal if everything was ok. The usual things you’d expect paying a decent amount of money were massively lacking. In total, the meal for two came to £190. I wouldn’t say it was worth even half that. I used to love M&C but unfortunately I won’t be returning soon, and most definitely not to Miller & Carter Aylesbury.

We had the set four course Christmas dinner, we only had three courses as we were served the second course as soon as we sat down (so they skipped the bread board) which was either over cooked (the prawns) or half missing (the cheese soufflé)! The third course was sparse with undercooked twig like half a carrot & 1 broccoli stem, two anaemic roast potato quarters and a minute portion of turkey with no pigs in blankets or any sign of the puréed parsnips: The fourth course (or third for us!) consisted of cold tinned pears (supposedly poached in saffron) and a microwave chocolate pudding, both of which we got after a 20 min wait. A very expensive disappointment that will not be repeated!

This was a wholly average dining experience. Both my learned friend and I had the burger. We both ordered pink, which neither was. The burger was supposed to have some sort of pulled beef, which was definitely not “pulled” and was rather just coming out of the burger in large, chewy chunks. Really quite disappointing. Wine choice was nice, service was decent, but food was slow to come. It took over an hour to get mains.

I have given a low rating due to the billing. The waitress was great the food was lovely but, we ended up having to pay £50 more due to their mistake on the billing. They don’t have a set button on the till for their set menu and when a cocktail was ordered instead of the dessert, as you can on the set menu for a supplement they charged for a full price cocktail. The manager was aware of the mistake and pointed it out but still charged us. Be careful and make it totally clear you want the cocktail of the set menu even though the names are similar.

We regularly dine at Miller & Carter in Didcot where the food and service is outstanding, although the food and service in Aylesbury was a major let down, with rude staff over cooked stake and a 50 minute wait, even though the restaurant was empty. What a shame for the Miller & Carter restaurant chain.

Ibby was my waiter was a well good guy! Regular check ups great service. Really great waiter. Had I problem with my discount and he went above and beyond to make sure it worked and I didn’t pay the wrong price. This was our first to a Miller and Carter establishment, and we weren't disappointed! Service was great from the moment we arrived. Our drinks and food order were taken as soon as we were ready,. Our meals arrived in a decent amount of time after ordering and our waiter Max checked that everything was okay with our meals. Both my husband and I really enjoyed our main courses, and our desserts. Max our waiter, was friendly and gave great service throughout. We'll definitely be back

We had a reservation for family lunch on Sunday. Half of tables was free, it wasn’t busy Sunday for this steakhouse. We’ve ordered three courses meals for three people. I wanted cauliflower wings as a starter, and I had CHICKEN WINGS after 40 minutes of waiting!! We had drinks quickly, but after that my husband was waiting for 25 minutes for another drink! Waiter was ignoring our table. He said “it’s very busy, and you have to wait” - that’s it! After ONE HOUR we had stakes. We’ve ordered medium rare steaks, and then we had well done 🤦🏻‍♀️ AFTER ONE HOUR OF WAITING. Waiter said we can wait for new ones… probably another 30 minutes. This is some kind of joke. We’re so disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend this place. We will not go back for sure. Waist of time and money!!!

Celebrated my Nan’s 90th here with a party of 20 people. We cannot fault anything. The food was delicious- all hot and came out at the same time. No issues with wrong orders or missed items, very impressive for a three course meal for 20 people! The restaurant was completely empty, nevertheless I have been seated at smallest table between elderly couples. Could not relax. Could not enjoy. Could not eat /talk. Table was dirty. More than that been charged double than the price on the menu

Absolutely fabulous visit, brilliant attentive but not over bearing staff, who were fabulous throughout. They made a special gesture with something special when finding out we were celebrating a special big birthday for our son. A truely great evening, the food was devine and there were 4 totally empty plates at the end, a shame we didn't have space for dessert because I'm certain it would have been amazing. Thank you team

Visited with my partner and a very disappointing experience. Firstly, I know this is a steak restaurant but as a vegetarian that goes with my meat-eating family the very limited options have not changed since my first visit well over a year ago. Secondly my partner’s steak was not as ordered, the waitress offered for a new one to be cooked but that we’d need to pay for both in that case. Two people on our table had ordered this steak from our party and the quality and cut was clearly different. This should have been a treat for us, but we couldn’t pay for an extra serving and so my partner was left without any food after we sent it back. They obviously operate a customer is wrong and we know better policy.

Hannah was amazing !!! We came to miller and carter as a family for a birthday celebration on the 20th October 2024. And she was so observant and gave us all th information we needed. Really polite girl. Huge asset to this restaurant. The Sunday sharer board was amazing and cooked to perfection. Massive shout out to the chefs as well!!

Hi I was at miller and carter and I ordered a Rib eye stake and I was tried to be fobbed off with Rump stake. Is not nice when the manager comes out and tries to give you that I was at the butchers when they cut the Rib eye stake. What I would like to ask is that, why didn't they just come up and say we don't have any more Rib eye would you rather have something else? For the sake off £15 over. The manager lady that evening realised that she was wrong and walked away with the stake. Dear Miller and Carter Aylesbury sort your self out and deal the real stake. Not nice
