Miller & Carter in Runnymede

Went for a meal on Friday afternoon. We had a 4.30pm table so not much atmosphere at that time of day. The staff were very welcoming, although considering the restaurant was practically empty, we had a different server for each interaction. My toddler had the veggie stick starter, carrots that were definitely not at fresh as they could be, with peel and dirt on and they had to send someone out to get cucumber. The 'humus' was more like a blended spiced veggie mix, very strange. Myself and partner ordered steaks with the addition of a lobster tail each. When the mains arrived both our sauces were cold and we sent them back to warm up, again they returned tepid at best. The steaks were cooked as we had ordered however there wasn't actually alot of flavour to them. Considering I was persuaded to order the special Australian sirloin, I was very underwhelmed. The lobster tails charged at £10 each were the size of a king prawn at best, again quite disappointing. The meal was extremely extremely expensive for the amount and quality of food we received and I was actually very shocked that a chain restaurant can charge these prices. There are a number of independent steak houses around that are wayyy better quality and far more reasonable. All in all a nice little family dinner left us feeling disappointed and quite gutted that we received what we did for that price.

I have had lamb rack dinner twice before in bath and bagshot but what I had Tuesday did not look like lamb. The meat was a bit burnt. Looked like steaks cut in pieces. I did not like the food at all. That was supposed to be my anniversary dinner. I was so disappointed. I was going to get dessert but couldn’t wait to leave

14 of us...no problem with service or timings. All the food was excellent.

Great steak restaurant /pub, we popped in for lunch whilst we were working and had a warm welcome. Good choice of meat and well presented. If I was local I would definitely be a regular.

Steaks were delicious and really good value for money for a good steak as they include sides within the price. The onion loaf you get on the side is fantastic! Service was good, restaurant was very busy but we didn’t feel that we had to wait to speak to our waitress. We will be back!

The person that received us, dealt superbly with a couple of lads!, that were in front of us. You had, had problems with them from another branch and they had parked right across a disabled bay on arrival. Well done, so good to see these people dealt with very professionally. Service was extremely friendly and efficient.

Nely was really nice, excellent food

The atmosphere was amazing, beautiful welcoming from the manager and lovely food, very professional service from Nektarios he was very attentive and polite. I can't wait to visit again. Thank you everyone .

Our server was Joanna (idk if I spelled that correctly) and she was amazing! Very considerate when my mother was poorly and took her food back into the kitchen to keep warm whilst we waited for her to come back. Made us feel very welcome and did everything to make our experience as enjoyable as possible! Will definitely want to be seated with her again

The service from Jubilee was brilliant. Such a lovely lady she was helpful and asked us each time if there was anything else we needed. Excellent service

Although a slightly rarer opportunity to visit (financially), every visit is special. With a good atmosphere, chilled and calm, cheery staff, great food cooked to perfection a glass or two of wine, what not to love. THANK YOU

The team were very welcoming and made us feel special. The service received was good. Unfortunately we had to return one fresh salad as there was a small insect within the salad.

We used to love Miller and Carter but had found standards slipped after the merge with The Harvester so have not been regular visitors since. However, the Chertsey branch was exceptional - both the service, the cleanliness and the food- and we will definitely return.

Great atmosphere great selection of beers and cocktails

We were seated at our reserved table promptly at the booked time. Table service was excellent, as was the food. Nothing to fault at all.

Had an Absolutely lovely meal, food was divine x lisa was lovely and friendly , always had smile on face. Definitely recommend to go here.

Burger bun was soggy on the bottom and hard rock on top we ordered well done steak and blood was coming out from it when mention to the staff the lady said we ordered medium rare but NO ! In menu was coleslaw salad in the meal I didn’t get any salad so I asked about the coleslaw salad she bring me tomato and cucumber and said this is what they offer very disappointed we definitely won’t visit again

I ordered the sea bass and it was very disappointing. The skin was oily and inedible when it should be crisp and the "Dauphinoise potatoes" were just a slimy mess. My two companions were also dissatisfied with their choices from the menu. This might be a good place if you eat nothing but steaks but, as a non meat eater, it's to be avoided. Won't be going back to this or any other Miller & Carter. At around £20 per head it's poor value.

Was very quiet at lunch, been before and will again

Great place. Food was delicious and the service was great. Foods a little expensive, but if you get the 2 course special it's not too bad at all.

Sadly, this was our least favourite visit to a miller and Carter in the last 10 years. It was our anniversary and so chose to dine at our favourite steak chain. However, we left feeling we had not had the usually superb miller and carter experience we have had in the past. This was our first visit to this particular restaurant. Firstly, for a restaurant stating on arrival that the dress code is “smart casual or dress to impress” and usually seen as a upper market steak house we felt we were in a low end beefeater. People were dressed in tracksuits and flip flops, we had kids constantly around our table on their phones and mucking around, not at their tables and the music felt more like a pub than a premium steakhouse. To redeem, our starters were very good and arrived very quickly which was good. They were excellent. Our mains then took nearly an hour to arrive, when they did the steak was just about warm (couldn’t even melt my garlic butter), the onion loaf was raw in the middle and the only thing hot was the chips. It took so long we didn’t want to comment when asked out of fear we would be even longer. Overall not the premium atmosphere, food and service we have come to love from other restaurants in the chain. Not a bad meal but overall very bang average across the board. If this was our first experience of a miller and carter we wouldn’t bother going to another again.

Great food, Nely our server was wonderful, highly recommend

The steak I ordered was undercooked and 60 percent fat and cartilage, the staff noticed my issues and offered to replace it, which they did with an equally bad steak, which was at least cooked correctly. They charged me for both steaks which was weird given that THEY offered to replace it, also the second steak did not come with salad or side which was not right if they charged me for two full meals, however they did discount us a little more than the cost of one of my steaks. So I had two bad steaks and by the time my second steak came I had cold potatoes and my wife had finished eating. Probably the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. I have now been contacted by the restaurant, requesting that I contact them. I sent them an email but so far have had no response. This must be the worst restaurant I have ever had the misfortune to visit or try to contact. Its been months now, still no contact from the restaurant, I guess they do not want to improve. Avoid this restaurant at all costs.

Visited on Monday 29th January and had the pleasure of having a lovely lady called Ginny as our server. This lady was so welcoming, so warm and just lovely! A real asset to the team at Miller and Carter. Thanks for giving us a great experience Ginny!x

The food was lovely and steak was delicious. The decor is a bit dark but still it’s nice. The over all experience was good, the waitress was really nice and we had a good time.

Very busy this evening yet food was spot on, great service too

First time visiting this branch of Miller & Carter and the restaurant and decor is very nice but the service was so slow! we were waiting to be seated for a long time, sat down and were seen after almost half an hour for drinks, again food order was taken after a long time, we had to get up and go to the bar for more drinks as our waitress was not coming over, very average steak having spent over £200 we expected better food and service!

Lovely visit, both had the steak experience. Ginnie was a fantastic waitress. Very friendly and recommended stuff for us to try. My only complaint was I asked for my steak for medium rare and it was more like rare.

Everything as it should be. Food was great. Service was great.

We often dine in Miller and Carter, usually Bournemouth, near our holiday home. We live in Cobham and went to Chertsey for our Sons twelfth birthday. We had a table right beside the kitchen entrance and exit, which was not good. Our youngest son loves a good steak, he's 8, he always orders a fillet steak, very rarely gets to eat all of it. So we always have a take-out box. We mentioned this to our waitress, but she forgot, about 1/3rd of the fillet got thrown out. About £10-12 worth. Sadly we had already paid and paid a £37 tip. She apologised. Not good. We did not enjoy the experience, the staff seemed rushed and attention to detail was lacking. For a relative high-end restaurant, the service was not good enough.

This is a wonderful place to eat, the food is exquisite and the service first rate. I highly recommend a visit. Excellent food, fantastic waiting staff.

First time ever visiting a miller and carter . Lovely food . GREAT Service from the waitress Harper she was very friendly and polite it made the visit a great experience ! it was probably the best service I have ever had at any other restaurant . The Food came out extremely fast and cooked just the way we asked . Will definitely be back in the future for more !

Was a great find. Not always believing the reviews, as these are often fake. However, this restaurant pub did live up to expectations. Good atmosphere, smart decor. Not very busy on a midweek late luncheon. Service was helpful, quick, efficient, and with a smile. We all had calamari starters and ribs for main. Both these were best examples. Only disappointment was no sweet potato alternative to regular potato fries. Would go again if in the Chertsey area.

It was good that we could find an available time to visit. The service was fast and the food was presented nicely. On the bad points, the seats and table were not very clean, the steak that we originally wanted was not available, the waitress rudely told me that my gift card was not accepted there, the chips were cold and hard as bullets. And one of the steaks tasted strongly of liver.

I went there yesterday and it was terrible. Upon entry, no human being in sight but a big camera and screen shoved in your face. What a lovely “welcome to miller and carter”. Eventually the man showed up and told us the table wasnt ready so to wait at the bar despite half the restaurant being empty. We were seated after 10 minutes waiting. Prices seem to have gone up, the cost of eating here was extraordinary and the food nothing more than okay. The chunky chips were brown and way overcooked. The burger with “no tomato” came with tomato. The drinks took ages to come. The atmosphere was awful as other customers waited far too long to be seated and started seating themselves, the manager confronted them to say “you cant sit there that area is closed” and the angry customer shouted. Just what I like to see with my dinner. Miller and carter is rubbish and expensive.

Had a fantastic evening for new year. Food was absolutely delicious. The mushroom starter was to die for. My fillet steak cooked to perfection, ate too much. But had a fantastic evening. Thank you very much. Deb Tanner.

Had fantastic New Year’s Eve meal Service was impeccable and our server Denise is one of the best servers we have ever had .. don’t often get service like this anymore , highly recommend

More sides choices and better sauce for steaks

Went there for Christmas dinner, with family was a lovely afternoon. Food was fab and service .

Food was anmazing and our server was so nice and very attentive !

The staff and service were both good. WE were seated quickly and the ambience was nice. We were comfortable and the drinks arrived quickly. The food was not good. The turkey was nice and freshly carved but the potatoes were like leather and the other vegetables and deteriorated into a grey mass. Desert -eton mess, was a huge bought meringue with cream smeared on the top, I think for the price, what we got was outrageously bad. The food was served very quickly within an hour we had almost finished our meal. We asked for a delay between courses but were told it wasn't possible. i understand it was Christmas day and the staff probably wanted to get home but if you sign up for that shift then you understand the implications!!

Very good taste and great service by waitress named Harper :) we will be back again!

This is a great restaurant with fantastic steak options. The banoffee pie to finish was washed down with a tasty Agentinian red and the food was served by Nely who did a top job looking after us.
