Smith & Western in Runnymede

I went with my partner and 2 teenagers for Mother’s Day as a treat Our table was booked for 8pm, we was served fairly quickly and ordered drinks and we was told when we ordered food that the kitchen was backed up so should order the mains at the same time so the kitchen were aware of our order, so we did We did not expect that an hour later we were still sat there without any food. 5 minutes later the waitress brings out our mains, I turned round and said well we haven’t had our starters yet and we’ve been sat here an hour!!!! Straight away 3 waitresses are at our table with all of the starters and all of the mains saying sorry for the mix up but we have all the food here for you now. I said ‘look, we can’t eat all of it in one go, food will go cold’ take the starters back and we’ll take our mains as we’re all very hungry (9.15pm at this point) I also said I want a reduction off the mains too. To the waitresses credit she agreed, took the starters back, we all really enjoyed our mains (that saved them from me getting really angry) and she took 10% off the mains. I didn’t think that was enough so when the bill came at £140 I said I’m willing to pay £130, she took the bill back and adjusted it to £130 They did try to rectify the issues but as a Mother’s Day treat I’ll remember it for all the wrong reasons which is a real shame as we used to love eating there

Waited s LONG TIME for our food to arrive (50 mins) wasn't overly busy not one member of staff came up yo ys to apologise for the wait. Food was Luke warm. No one checked up on us, food is expensive for what it is. Zero customer service would we go back!!? No we wouldn't

Great atmosphere and friendly staff! Unfortunately one of our burgers came out cold but this was very quickly rectified by the ‘Sheriff’ with lots of apologies. Overall a great place with great cocktails, bit on the pricey side but worth every penny!!

Starter of Nachos to share was decent. Mains were luke warm, no steam from any of them. Steak was underwhelming considering its price.

Went to the restaurant with the wife. Arrived to wait about 5 mins to be seated, even though it wasn't busy. Food was good. But service was terrible. Ended up waiting about 30 mins from asking for the bill to actually getting it.

Our first time visiting, the guy who met us at the door was moody from the get go - he sat us right under a speaker, we requested to move away from the speaker and he rolled his eyes at us and said “fine”. We later saw another couple do the exact same thing. The music is far too loud and they kept turning it up on certain songs and before turning it back down. Food was excellent and good value for money, however they did get our order wrong and forget a side dish. Drinks are watered down (we had the unlimited sodas). Overall decor and food is great. Front of house let the visit down. We won’t be coming again.

This restaurant is absolutely superb, from the moment you walk in and are greeted to the attentive service from the friendly staff, then there’s the food great choice, and great flavour, well cooked, and presented superbly! Nothing is too much trouble from the staff, a great experience all round, and as for the Birthday belly buster desert. I’ll let the photo do the talking!I would highly recommend a visit to this gem!!

We had to wait 45 mins for our table to be ready although we had booked. The prices have increased dramatically since we last visited. A portion of onion rings were over £8! The quality of the food was very average but the price tag was high. The waitress began clearing our plates before everyone had finished and leaned over me whilst I was still eating to get a plate. After waiting so long for our table we were one of the last people in there and were offered the bill before we had even finished our desserts (it was only 8.30pm, so not even closing time) Very disappointed as we love Smith & Western in Chichester but visited Addlestone this time with family.

Absolutely lovely first time I’ve been and will be back again without a doubt we had the biggest meal ever and we could t eat it all and we are big eaters

Ribs were poor for the price (no rib shake comparison) and a glass of Prosecco was below average ,. When I asked why so small glass for just under £7 they replied .. they were measured out !! Good places go if you want to be over priced with your family.

Fantastic atmosphere, decor, music, staff attentiveness, variety, quality and quantity of food! Love it! But….is a little bit pricey. We regret not checking our bill before paying (our fault) and didn’t keep receipt. Totted up against menu when home and was surprised at discrepancy. And we bought the Celebration Belly Buster, but sadly no cowboy hat available, which is a shame we really wanted one for the birthday girl! Pity we weren’t told about that when ordering. Otherwise, as stated in first para, it is a cool and different place for a night out. Food highly recommended!

Great restaurant, theme runs through out and all staff are dressed in line with the theme, the restaurant was very busy which I took as a good sign! Service wasn't terrible but due to the volume of customers we did have to wait a little while for our server each tike we needed her to take our orders - there's a great selection of food on the menu and dessert menu - I would go back tomorrow for the mini hot donuts! Downsides were the chips were undercooked so they were hard though this was resolved by taking them off the bill. I do feel that it's slightly overpriced but I would go back because the atmosphere and music was fun!

waitress was attentive & friendly, online booking easy. We’ve have eaten here before and food was great as previous visits. Food came out quick and very tasty. Only gave 4 stars because drinks were slow to come out and where we were sat was right next to a noisy child’s party which I’m not normally worried about but they were very vocal and was quite an assault to the senses and drowned out the music.

Excellent restaurant. Don't think I have ever seen staff that look so happy. They are all extremely friendly, courteous and pleased to help. Food was great, found the steak lacked a little seasoning but otherwise it was good. Just sad that they had run out of key line cheesecake, I was do looking forward to it .
