Absolutely banging 👌 Had a few weeks where the chips were a little pale but there 100% back to there best lovely chips allways excellent and quick service still the best chippy by a mile-house 😊

Brilliant food, service and very good quality and pricing. Just a pity the parking is difficult and drivers conduct very poor.

Always excellent food freshly cooked. Clean premises,pleasant staff always quick to deal with queues at busy times. A well known local business consistently good.

OUTSTANDING. Really fab Fish & Chip shop. Lovely ladies serving behind the counter, superbly clean and organised, the very best chips (generous portions) and perfectly cooked cod in batter. Always excellent.

The worst chippy I’ve ever had can’t explain how much better porthill chippy is better also the chap was horrible taking 5mins to be served the food was horrendous with my fish being cold s as nd raw never again

Stopped as I was passing, had a mini fish & chips meal deal. Was ok, nothing special. The chips were nice and tasty but the fish was a bit disappointing, it was tasteless and had a strange texture like white crab meat it broke up into stringy mush and not nice flakes as expected. Portion was on the small side compared to others too. Wouldn't go back especially but if I was passing and hungry I might pop in. Service was fast and efficient and cards accepted

Had another visit Saturday evening. I've been going to this chip shop every now and then since the early 90's as a young teen even prior to Andy taking it on. Maybe I'm biased but for all those 30+ years I've always said it was the best chip shop in the land. Or at least my favourite I've ever tried anyway. The price understandably creeps up a little over the years but I never mind that. It's a fine treat and you always get large portions for your money. Staff reliably friendly and I like the local community feel you get in there sometimes. People on first name terms with the staff and the little conversations that take place. Occasionally the service can take a while but this seems difficult to predict. Sometimes big queues soon flow through, while other times progress with small numbers seems slow. I guess the online orders create this a bit but I never mind waiting. I just anticipate a wait when I visit and to be honest it can be pretty busy sometimes so that's a sign that customers are happy and frequently return. It often makes me smile that when I go, most customers tend to be older gentlemen. Being that I am now 46 I guess I'm starting to fall neatly into that bracket myself. Still, I get the impression that many of these guys are like myself - people who have returned time and time again and feel it to be something woven into the fabric of who they are. A dining ritual in a way! Anyway, I love last years redesign and can't foresee a time I will venture elsewhere. Keep up the fine work you folks.

Never had any issues in here before. Rude staff was too busy chatting and then when i asked for my food she claimed i said the wrong thing even though it wasnt even on the menu somewhere else What I asked for other than specials. when I left she was laughing at me, really disappointed.

Lovely place .. always busy as fish and chips are so very fresh and tasty (love the fact you serve fish and not just batter a much more healthy option). Well done Andy 👏 your business and staff are a credit to you.

Unbelievable really that I’ve only recently been to this chippy, but have been twice in the last month or so for there lunch time specials which are fantastic value for money, the foods been beautiful the portion sizes are brilliant and really can’t fault it at all, the other plus side I’ve found is it’s not been overly busy at lunch time and been served pretty quick, I’ve driven past in the evening and it can be very busy with people queuing outside the door, which obviously says it all really, well worth a visit

Great place with a lot of variety, it’s very rare to find a chippy with Chinese curry now too. The food was good and the portion size was great. Really enjoyed the food here.

You can't beat a Milehouse chippy. It's great how you can call ahead to place your order so it is ready for when you arrive to pick it up. It saves you standing in the queue.

We use this chip shop regularly and love it ❤️ best tasting chips around, food is always fresh and hot. Pricing is good compared to other places and it's pretty local to us. Any issues are resolved quickly and the staff are all very friendly. We call so much they know our order now 🤣

Gotten abit expensive but that isn’t the issue really. Chips undercooked, fish wet and mulchy? Batter barely cooked. Chicken burger full of gristle. The staff are HORRENDOUS. Rude. Miserable. It’s not just unhappy either they give you dirty looks. It’s gone downhill this chippy has and I won’t be using it again

Fish, chips and mushy peas for eight quid turned out to be a bag of batter, a huge pile of barely cooked soggy spuds and a pot of what I can only describe as liquid 'green'. Had to queue for over ten minutes and apparently my FIL says people come from 'all over the area' for this travesty masquerading as food. Perhaps if it wasn't so busy they'd take the time to cook it properly? If I'd been closer I'd have taken them back but as it was they were bin bound as a never to be repeated mistake! DREADFUL

Worst kebab ever was cut into chunks , clearly the person serving didn't know how to cut kebabs meat , the pastry on my pie was rock hard , not very impressed at all

We've been regulars of milehouse for a while. my fella pops in usually once a week after work. usually the food is lovely, fresh and flavoursome. However today the steak and kidney puddings were very stodgy, tasteless and the filling was very, puree rather than the usual chunks. my fella said the containers are different. so I suspect possibly a new supplier. sausage was also disgusting very odd bitter taste took one bite and it went in the bin.. If it is a case of changing suppliers please go back to who you were with previously. we love this chippy, but if tonight is a taste (excuse the pun) of the quality milehouse now serve. I'm afraid we'll be finding a new chippy 😒

Last night we had the best ever fish chips and peas from Mike house chippy. They always serve up the best but last night was gourmet standard. Crispy batter over thick white succulent fish, golden chips with lots of crispy bits and scrumptious peas. Thank you Andy and team.

Had cause to drive past, so stopped and saw that their Lockdown Service seemed to be sorted. Phoned at 11.45 on Thursday and was told no need th pre-order as it was quiet. Arrived at 12.00; four people waiting, all masked & socially distanced.Staff were all beautifully uniformed and masked.Staff: courteous, helpfull and efficient.Fish: Beautifully cooked in a crispy batter.Chips: Dry and delicious.Mushy Peas: Mushy and green.All this for £8.20. Washed down with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. HEAVEN.

We have always been impressed with the quality of the fish and chips, that hasn’t changed. What I need to say is the mask hygiene of the majority of staff on Saturday evening was appalling. Staff continually touched the area of their masks covering their mouth and nose and then touched paper food was wrapped in. Very disappointing Milehouse!

I came to milehouse fish bar because I had been told it was fantastic, the best in the area.I was highly disappointed. The food was average at best, the chip portions were smaller than expected and what got me the most is how a member of staff was talked to by the boss, I assume he was the boss. The poor girl. I felt so sorry for her!

Andy (and his team) cook and serve quite simply the most delicious fish and chips, you'll be hard pushed to find better. The fish is always fresh, covered in a perfect crispy batter and when accompanied by the chips and peas you get a fantastic meal - and very reasonably priced too!

Not queueing here for anyone so lunchtime visit made 20 mins before shop closes at 2pm.Walks into shop and before I could order I was told all we have left is in the heated cabinet which was 2 large fish a a fishcake or 2.So 20 minutes left of opening hours is not enogh to cook something to order? I dont want a large fish and I am not going to buy something I dont want just because they have not been able to sell it.Walked out...again. I dont even bother going anymore.

Ordered haddock and chips for 2. Chips were nice, fish was a little disappointing, I always order haddock as it has a nicer, richer flavour compared to cod, but this haddock was not as tasty as haddock usually is and it was quite greasy. Hubby left half of his and said it wasn't as nice as our usual fish & chips.The place itself is clean and efficient. I would have rated 3 1/2, but as there are no half ratings, had to go with a 3.

We originally found out about this chip shop when we moved house 6 years ago we tend to go every 2 weeks and have never been disappointed. Great service from friendly and courteous staff.wiuld never go anywhere else now but be prepared to stand in a queue on Friday nights it's that popular.

We had a mini fish and chips - waited ten minutes as chips not ready - sat in car on The Marsh - red hot and lovely. Not a massive portion but it was enough and we didnt feel stodged up. Nothing nicer than chippy tea in the car in Winter! Windows steamed up and car smelled of chips all the following day!

Me and the family were passing through and kids were hungry so we thought we would try here were do I start after finding somewhere to park as we could not get out side the shop and had to park in a street across the road we qued for 50 minutes to then get served and waited an extra 25 minutes for a Donner kebab large fish and chip and 3 chips and gravy with sausage when they told us the price I could not believe as the size of the postions are regular, but my kids liked there meals so as we were driving through over xmas we went to nip in to find it was closed for xmas and new year lucky we found another chippy and can honestly say it being closed was a blessing as we would never have found Dave's chippy and now we go every week

We only every purchase chips, but find them perfect, never greasy or cold, always hot and tasty, you can tell that the fryers are well maintained.

I’ve known some good chippys in my time back in Cornwall. Moving up here it’s been hard finding a good one. Then I came here and I’ve not gone to another chippy since. This is my regular chippy on a Friday night! Absolutely the best each and every time!
