Quiet and comfy place, looks awesome, staff very knowledgeable and friendly! Tried the famous pistachio swirl and it was quite good! Also had a chai latte that was okay, I prefer it more spicy but I could feel the good ingredients quality! Only giving three stars because the swirl had a pistachio shell that I bit and hurt my teeth 😭! Accidents happen, but it is unexpected for a premium pastry. But even after the incident I’m tempted to go back.

The pastries I tried were amazing! I definitely recommend the Kouigns, croissants and pistachio swirls! The croissant was very buttery and flakey, and wonderful even the second day. The swirl won’t taste very strongly of pistachio but more of choco, so keep that in mind. The kouign had a lovely caramelized crust that hit the spot perfectly after my long day. I definitely appreciated the staffs’ help and explanations on how everything tasted, they had great recommendations.

Was so excited to visit here as they are one of the few places in London that sell canelés. Sadly I have never been more disappointed by a bakery in my entire life! The canelé was £4 to take-out, stale, burnt, and an awful texture (so hollow also?). It completely lacked the delicious centre one was craving!

Tried the fabulously looking pistachio praline swirls and so much disappointment. The pastry was denser than I'd expected, chocolate taste overpowered pistachio (4 of us who tried it all agreed on that) and the worst part - one of the swirls had a piece of pistachio shell in it. Absolutely unacceptable in any food you're serving to customers, but especially at this price point! Would ask for a refund if it wasn't a takeaway

The bakery has fresh and fluffy baked goods. The two best have pistachio and spinach, which is very delicious. I mean, I usually go back to it, but the shop is small and in the heat of the place. It is suitable for taking on a cup. Black coffee comes with excellent matcha, but not once. Excellent cappuccino without sugar. The price is negotiable.

Not too bad! It's so and so. If you want something well worth it, then the croissants are the best items on the menu. The decaf, not so much. Miel bakery is probably one of my favourite bakeries in London! It's so conveniently located right behind Warren Street tube station (it's also on my route to the office if I'm coming from Manchester) so I love stopping here to pick up a delicious pastry. I usually take away so can't speak for the sit-in experience, but it's never busy when I come in the late morning and the staff are always friendly and smiling. They have a lot of different options both sweet and savoury, but I always go for a sweet treat. My favourite so far has been the hazelnut gianduja pain au chocolate (pictured). Definitely on my top spots for bakes and pastries when I'm in London!

Small but beautiful bakery in its simplicity. The baked goods speak for themselves, an amazing sweet selection of traditional French pastries along with more universal options. The savoury selection is not the emphasis but it has some deliciously looking feta spinach parcels as well as sausage rolls. Great strong coffee and terribly flavourful chai, attentive staff is the cherry on the top. Fully recommend.

This bakery has popped up as one to visit, not too far from Euston. There was no queue when I visited and opted for the pistachio swirl (which was a bit disappointing - fairly dry and the chocolate overpowered the pistachio) and a chocolate bun with a pecan praline (which was amazing). There was not much choice in savoury options as I was hoping for something to go with all the sweet pastry!

Hmm... I've visited Miel numerous times and the goods have always been delicious, but I left totally stunned today! You know when you pay for something in a daze because it's so expensive but you're embarrassed to ask any questions, and are questioning your own sanity too? That's what happened. I got a tiramisu, which was dreamy, and in line with other prices I've paid across London. I also got an alphonso mango tart, which was miniature, maybe 2 inches in diameter, and a hazelnut choux, which came up on the register as a Paris Brest, despite being maybe a third of the size (think very small, croquembouche sized puff). For these three items I paid nearly £20... the tart was £6 something and the little puff was the same. Yikes... Just the other day I was reading reviews of Miel and thought that surely people were just not used to London prices, but my goodness, for these two small items (exclusing the tiramisu), I was astounded. And that is because they were the only two items with no prices on them... a strange lack of transparency. The tart was ok but the pastry was going soggy, the cream was nice but just vanilla, and the mango was tasty but drying out. Choux puff was delicious and had a nice salty hazelnut puree in as well as the hazelnut mousse, but the pain I feel in my bank account is real. I don't mind paying for quality, but for the size of these items, the prices just did not add up and frankly I'm wounded... especially due to the lack of prices for them on the display. Very odd! I've attached a photo of the empty plate where the choux bun was, and the remaining alphonso tarts...

I used to be a regular at Miel and loved their kouign-amann, which were some of the most delicious pastries I've had. HOWEVER, the quality is very inconsistent, as sometimes the pastries are under or over-baked, and the taste completely different. Moreover, the service almost always feels very rushed and unfriendly. During my most recent visit, I was the only person left in line, but was ignored and left standing for a very long time while the staff member prioritized doing little odd jobs. She should've taken my order first instead of leaving me to stand there. It was getting to the point of being very awkward. Finally she turned to me and I pointed to a specific pastry I wanted, but she ignored my request to give me a very obviously burnt one. I did not feel valued as a patron at all, and the burnt pastry obviously did not taste nice. Unfortunately, I have not returned to Miel since then.

Today I visited Miel Bakery, which I have visited several times before, and it was wonderful as usual. It's always a pleasure to see what items they have for sale currently (I spend the whole queue time trying to see!) and their coffee is excellent. My partner particularly loved their cinnamon buns and I found the madeleines so light and fluffy. There was a queue quite early on a bank holiday Monday when most of London was not awake yet, which is a solid indicator of a bakery that has multiple repeat visitors! That all changed when I moved to France and fell in love with French patisserie. Since coming back to London I am always on the lookout for proper French patisseries which are not easy to find. The Miel bakery is one such place that does things the right way. For a start even at 10 am there was a queue outside which is always a good sign. I tried the Pain au Chocolat and a latte which were both fabulous especially the Pain au Chocolat which was pillowy crisp on the outside and full of Chocolat. I also purchased a takeaway of Paris Bresse and a Chocolate cake which went down a storm at home, and although I would have preferred a fresh cream filling for the Paris Bresse they were both beautifully crafted and tasted great. Service was good but nothing I bought tasted nice, which is super sad because I was very excited to try Miel. The chocolate tart was tiny, and unfortunately, the taste didn't justify the steep price. Also, the biscuit part of the tart wasn't great. The pecan cookie was another disappointment, and though my family loves cookies anything with chocolate and nuts, no one could stomach it. The madeleines were kinda dry and there was some sort of perhaps coconut flavour. In any case, they just didn't taste the way a madeleine should (I'm French so I know what I'm talking about) and they were overcooked. In the end, everything I bought ended up in the bin. Even the kids at home didn't like it. I love desserts and I don't mind paying what most people would consider high price for it. I've tried other bakeries in London where prices would make some people flinch. But it was the first time where I felt like everything I bought was inferior to what I could've purchased from a place like Marks and Spencer, in particular the cookies. The bakery is French-influenced. However, to me, there was nothing French about the taste or something close to it. In all honesty, I felt like the owner/ cook should visit France and actually try what is being sold in bakeries or visit other bakeries in London who sell similar products at similar price point. This being said the bakery is very popular and has very good reviews on Google, so although my family and I were personally disappointed, others may like what the bakery offers! So I would still recommend people to give the bakery a try. EDIT - 07/04/24 I can see that the owner responds to every single negative review, including mine. While I understand that she and her team put their heart and soul into her business and that it hurts bad when someone openly doesn't like what one produces, it's really inappropriate to respond to a customer and try to tell them how they should think and feel and what they should say. Arguing with me over how I should feel about the cookies and madeleines and what not is not productive as it will not change my opinion. The issue isn't the coconut flavour or using brown butter or what not, it's just that it didn't taste good, to me and my family. Same for the cookies and the tart. Sure, the cookies are bestseller, but it doesn't change the fact that we didn't like it and that personally I found that there was no real flavour of chocolate or pecan. I would advise the owner to avoid looking at reviews if she's unable to remain neutral because it's impossible for everyone to like your products. That's just the reality of running a business, especially a food business. You will not find a single restaurant and bakery shop anywhere in the world that doesn't have a bad review. It's also very unfortunate that the owner is trying to accuse me of racism. In my review I actually said "French-influenced", and I maintain that nothing I tasted reminded me of France or was even close to similar bakeries in London who are equally French-influenced. Once again, telling me about your education and background won't change MY opinion. Leaving the French influence thing aside, the bottom line is no one in my household liked what I bought. Full stop. Ultimately, I paid for the food as a treat to myself and my family. It wasn't given to me. So I have a right to share my opinion, whether it pleases the owner or not. Also, I ended my original review by saying that I would still recommend people to give the bakery a try as though we were disappointed, they may like it. The fact that the owner still responded the way she did just shows a real lack of business acumen, and really I hope that she will take my review as constructive criticism and learn from this.

Miel provided great place for a light lunch. I had a spinach and feta pastry followed by a cinnamon bun (sitting in Tavistock Square) being eyed up by the pigeons. It was lovely. I would have eaten more but had to exercise a bit of self control. I don't usually do puff pastry but decided to do it because it all looked so good.

A good selection of pastries and cakes. Highly recommend the hazelnut roll! One of the best in London 💯 Pistachio Twirl was amazing too! Not too sweet but rich in chocolate chunks and pistachio cream 😚 Although the pastries are of a higher price, they all look yum and I would definitely want to try more😍 It’s quite a popular place so it’s not always likely to get a seat inside And the tables were a bit dirty because no one came to clean up but it’s understandable

The famous Miel may have too high expectations, so I was a little disappointed after trying it. The outer skin of the croissant was not crispy enough, which was a pity. It may also be due to abnormal baking conditions that day, and the croissant tasted ordinary.

Luscious tasting perfect pastries. I wanted something sweet so I asked for recommendations. They were all dreamy. Definitely get the Pistachio Swirl because it has the perfect balance of tasty salty pistachio with the depth of dark chocolate over a flaky pastry. The double chocolate cookie has a hint of saltiness inside the rich sweetness which makes it so moreish.

It’s a bit average. They could do with tastier stuff. Good service

UPDATE: I really appreciate the fact that the owner came forward to clarify the misunderstanding. As I plan to continue visiting Miel and try out their expansive range of offerings. I will keep an open mind and review again once I’ve revisited. Miel is a place with a lot of potential, over the couple of times I’ve been, I’ve only tried their viennoiseries. I’d like to say that what Miel offers are not your usual finds but they are made with a twist, maybe fusion with some sort of Middle Eastern influence? I’m not sure but it feels that way. Coffee is pretty amazing, fragrant and a perfect blend. Not too fruity, which is how I like it. They have a classroom like set up that’s usually closed off, that leaves a couple of seats inside and two tables outside. With very limited seating, this place has a really high turnover. Do not expect to always get plates when you eat in, they have limited supply of those. However, there was this one time when I asked for cutleries, a staff was kind enough to get it for me (hopefully metal) only to be stopped by a more stern, yet younger looking staff who was seemingly showing a new staff the ropes immediately directed me to disposable cutleries, ‘you can help yourself with those on the side’. I’m sorry but that’s not okay. Stopping a colleague to help a repeat customer while being a bad example of customer service in front of another staff? Terrible!

After being on my list to try for a long time, today I've finally made my way to the bakery - I have to say I was very disappointed. Got a hazelnut gianduja croissant - it was very dry (way past being crunchy and flaky) and you could barely feel the filling. Sorry, but I doubt I will come back to try anything else.
