Mick's Monster Burgers in Portsmouth

What has happened to the chips?! Used to be the best ever, but when we visited recently, they were just bog standard cheap frozen ones. Such a disappointment. Hopefully it was just a supply issue and we were unlucky.

Great food served hot and fresh. Staff are friendly and always have a smile on their faces. Good value for the money

There isn't a better place like this one in Portsmouth! A small portion cost £5 and while eating it, you have the view of the only city island in England. Sunset or Sunrise are the best, but any time of the day is also good because they serve food 24 hours a day. The service is also very, very good 👍

I've been going to Micks for 30 years, and the value for money and great food had never changed. Highly recommend for any time of year and at any time of the day!

I cam here with few friends on a weekend bike ride. The views from this place is very good. I enjoyed my lunch sitting here on the bench and looking at portsmouth city. On a clear day, you can see miles out. There is enough place to park your car and motorbike. It can get busy on a sunny day. Food is amazing and very good. I had bacon cheese burger and it was very good. Reasonably priced and well worth the price. I will definitely go there again.

Burger rolls were really fresh. The burger i had was nicely cooked. I had the quarter pound burger and it did look small in the huge roll. Rated 3 for atmosphere as it was a burger van in a car park, so not much of an atmosphere.

Micks burgers still the best had them from back in the day when everyone went out clubbing.

If you are at the viewpoint on top of Portadown Hill this is a great place for a 🍔. Highly recommended.

This place is a local legend but we were both underwhelmed by the service, the wait and the food. They took down the order wrong and gave us the wrong food as well. This happened to several others in the queue. Coffee was pretty tasteless. 30mins wait for cheap tasting very greasy burgers. Nice chips and great fresh buns. Yes the portions are big and it's reasonably priced, great views. I wouldn't return for a burger, maybe a bacon buttie.

Huge selection of beef burgers. Not much if you don't eat beef. No vegetarian food apart from mushrooms and egg. Otherwise fantastic service and lovely views. Not cheap but street food isn't cheap anymore. Always a good place to go and good portion sizes too.

Decided to stop on Portsdown Hill this morning. Had a lovely hot coffee with a portion of delicious chips which were shared among the family in the car. I'm not surprised it's such a popular spot!

Lovely day, apart from showers, had a large bacon roll which had 4 thick rashers of bacon in it, and very nice it was to, cost £4.90, but i thought that it was good value for money.

The view is ridiculous day or night. The food, service and value is great. You won't find a better place.

The only disappointing thing here is that I just can't eat that much in one sitting. I have to keep coming back but it is so worth it. The view alone is worth the wait in the queue and there is always a queue. A sensible cover over the serving hatch makes so much difference and there is always a spare seat in the car. The chips are excellent, ask the waiting Seagulls on the roof.

Love this place, food is amazing. Cheesy chips and hot chocolate especially nice. View is stunning. Only downside is the queue, but it's to be expected really.

I was advised to try this place. Well I got a bacon egg burger it was served to me dry as anything the burger was pink they put one stingy bit of bacon. Then re done food and was dripping in grease exactly the same the rolls are to big if it's a large atleast fill it and cook it. I'm sorry I'm really disappointed for my first time

Its a non veg place, the cheese is also animal fat based, so for Halal options u can only have the coffee and chips. But the staff is courteous and the service is well on time.

NHS workers should be prohibited from using this popular community hub due to their being in contact with cold, flu and other viruses every day and giving it to large quantities of people as a result. Thanks for making me ill, my nose has been dripping all over the floor non-stop for days and my throat feels like someone has jammed a medieval mace down it, my temperature is overwhelmingly high and the fatigue has been setting in the day after the throat problems started. Avoid if you value your health, NoHelpService are to blame for this spread.

Went to Mick's burgers on new year's eve and my disabled partner had been hit by a rocket firework which was thrown at her by a man not holding a licence to fire fireworks in a public place. No offer of compensation was offered to my partner regarding her lost burnt jacket or jumper and injuries. This happened on the site next to the burger hut. I have tried contacting them but they refuse to pick up there phone. They need to take responsibility for this incident that took place on the 31/12/2024. It is not a safe place to be when the Public are letting off fireworks. I look forward to there reply.

An amazing always nice cooked burger (always decent sized) the staff are polite and friendly and helpful but sometimes I feel the waiting for food at the end is a little unorganised and crowded and hard to hear them shout the number (must be a solution) order screen possibly.. That said wouldn't and doesn't put me off going... when I can afford it. Highly recommend micks been there since before I can even remember!

Waited over 45 minutes for chips and a burger. There was a crowd of people also waiting. It was lunch time, this is a popular place, customers can't have been unexpected. How on earth could it take so long. Been here many times before and it a fraction of the time. This has put us off ever going back. Crazy waiting times.

Beats all the burger chains hands down. Been buying burgers here since 1981 and can honestly say that they are delicious, good value and have a wide variety of options. Reguarly call in for food after driving from near Chichester and sometimes meet up with family who drive from Southampton. Sit in your car to eat or find a spot on the grass. Enjoy the views over Portsmouth and the Solent to the Isle of Wight.

Don't know if I should own up to this but considering I'm Portsmouth born and bred, this is the first time I have had a "Monster Burger. I'm 60+ . Very impressed . Nice and hot, freshly cooked and staff very friendly and efficient. I had a chilli cheese monster and it was fantastic. Will Def try not to wait so long for the next on. Recommended.

Best burgers for not just miles but anywhere! Fantastic value choice and build your own or off of the menu. Open 24/7 365! Been a customer for many years and my children to! While they were young I’d drive from Chichester rather than 1 mile to Maccy D’s. Micks burgers are real and filling and if you want breakfast in a bap you can (not beans or black pudding hash brown!) but eggs sausage bacon mushrooms burgers, chips or cheesy chips are an option but those newbie’s that order chips with their burger find that the burger alone fills the gap and the chips aren’t required and they are a large portion!

Pricey Bacon bap with only 2 rashers of barely cooked bacon and no butter, the bap was too large , it needs more bacon. Queue was short but took ages to get served..

Good value large burgers hotdogs etc. But a bit daissapointing in 2024 there are no options for non meat eaters or vegetarians, only mushroom and egg burgers cooked on same grill as meat , and also no child size options for hotdogs and burgers. So this is not an ideal family stop to get a snack. Would get 5 stars in 1970 but now were in 2024 only 2 or 3 stars.

Worst cup of tea I have ever tasted. Only 2 rashers in the bacon roll, cheap brown sauce, bread roll is too large for the bacon supplied and doughy. This place has gone downhill despite it being on top of the hill. Customer service is much slower now and orders were taken wrongly. Scenery is still good.

Always nice to pop up to Mick's monster burger's on port's down hill. And watch the sun set over Portsmouth. Xx

As usual great burgers and chips. Loads of (very) hot food. They've built a shelter next to the van to keep most of the weather off, but still blowy!

Always a pleasure, good food, lovely location and views to die for x decent hot dog with no bouncy bits!! Chips plentiful and above all hot 👍 I swear the gulls get bigger and fatter every time we come here, filling up on left over chips!

Great not-so-secret-anymore place, fantastic views while you wait, basically a fancy version of a food van! Incredible burgers pretty much with anything you fancy on. Very popular, queues not unusual so if it's a Fri/Sat night be prepared to wait for it! But worth it for the views and the food 😉
