Mi Casa Scotland in Glasgow City

The only two staff who appeared to be there were two wee lassies who were having a chat and a laugh at the bar and ignoring us - the only customers in the restaurant at the time. Service was terrible and food was only moderate. Won't be back.

Friendly and strangely authentic in this day of big chains - waiter was especially proud to talk of his mothers own recipe for one of the dishes. Even better in nice weather as there is street dining.

This is such a warm and welcoming tapas restaurant in the heart of Glasgow. Set in a pedestrian area by the iconic city chambers and George square the location is amazing and the food is superb which is only matched by the welcome and service of the staff. We will definitely be returning to enjoy another experience.

We dined there 2 days ago, as we had a groupon voucher and after a days shopping in the city looked forward to our evening meal. As other diners have commented on, you are asked what allergies you have and what you don't like to eat. Our voucher entitled us to have a glass of wine each and 8 Tapas to share, the waitress then informed us it would be chef's choice and we would not be able to choose from the menu. We anxiously awaited our food and looking forward to whatever the chef recommended or wanted to delight us with. The food arrived fairly quickly to our disappointment. The Chefs choice most certainly would not have been our choice, paella without any seafood or fish, chicken in a watery tasteless tomato sauce with chunks of slimy courgette, soggy patatas bravas in the same tasteless sauce. Fried chicken wings,(no sauce) lamb meatballs again in the same tomato sauce. This was not enjoyed at all, however the wine was pleasant. We did not order any further food, and went home. This was a real pity as the surroundings were pleasant and had the makings of a comfortable place to go, sadly the food let it down, maybe this is a menu reserved only for groupon customers but I did think the idea of Groupon was to encourage customers to go back. Sadly we wont be back.

Visited here to use a groupon voucher, the server asked if we had been since it was taken over so can only assume it had changed hands since we bought the deal. It was honoured but in a slightly different form from that expected. They basically asked about likes/dislikes and allergies and served up a selection of Tapas, between the four of us we all found something we liked and nobody went hungry. Probably wouldn't have suited just 2 off us because of different tastes but ideal for 4.

I had the unfortunate experience of using a "Groupon" voucher in this restaurant. When we arrived we were put into what I could only say was a designated area for voucher users. Told verbally two options for the paella and told waitress would be back to take order. Did not offer us a drink. After sitting for around 20 minutes my husband had to go and get the waitress to take our order. I asked her "don't you do starters" and her response was "I didn't know you wanted any". We ordered the paella only for it to be brought out placed down on the tables with three side plates no attempt was made to dish out the paella. At the end of meal the "team leader" came over and asked how our meal was told him food was fantastic however service was terrible he asked what the problem and we told him. He said he would go and get the manager after around five minutes he returned saying he had spoken with the manager and offered us a drink and dessert to make up for our disappointment however we declined and left the restaurant. We will never go back to this restaurant which is a shame as the food is fantastic. I have since noticed from other reviews they do not have menus however this was not explained to us!!!!

We had a voucher deal of tapas & a glass of wine x 4. There is no menu & the waiter asked a few questions, allergies, likes, dislikes, spices etc & the chef then made a surprise selection of tapas. The food was delicious varied & plenty of it too a lovely way spend an afternoon with friends. The restaurant was fairly quiet but the staff made us very welcome & we stayed for the rest of the afternoon enjoying lovely wine recommended. We all enjoyed the day & we will be back again.

Went here on Sunday 12th of February on a group on deal for 4 . Didn't know what to expect but booked because it was close to the piper bar. Wow it was brilliant. Beautiful restaurant excellent service from Stephen. Excellent Tapas from Carlos. Big portions great selections to chose from. The seafood paella was my favourite but every dish was as good as the next. We traded the wine on the deal for the sangria again it was lovely. Even though this was a group on deal there was no scrimping on service or quality or quantity, in this restaurant,the way it happens in other places. I would definitely recommend it. But remember you must be hungry as the portions are bigger than other tapas places

Having read the recent reviews I wasn't overly excited when my partner told me she had got an itison for Mi Casa. The place was quiet as mentioned before but it was a wet, Tuesday evening in January. It was warm inside however (no longer the fridge it has been apparently) and I liked the décor. More importantly the service and food were great. I'm still not convinced about the chef choosing your dishes through suggestions but on this occasion it worked a treat. It was the most authentic tapas I've had in Glasgow and I thoroughly enjoyed the mussels, pork and beans, sausage and black pudding and patatas bravas. Not a bad pint of Cruz Campo either at a reasonable price. I would definitely recommend!

We had a voucher deal of Paella and Sangria for two, we were well pleased with the food and service. The waiter showed us a table but we asked if we could sit elsewhere which was no trouble at all he was very accommodating setting a table where we requested. Also, he explained the Paella was quite spicey which was ok for us but there was the option of not having it too spicey. Both the food and the Sangria were very enjoyable with excellent service. We noticed the Tapas being served to others and they did look good next time in Glasgow we will be back to Mi Casa to try the Tapas. We had the fish Paella there is a meat version also, there was plenty of fish (Prawns; Calamari and Mussels) and very good quality.

Terry and I enjoyed lunch here. Nice and warm and inviting on a bitterly cold winters day. We really enjoyed the fact that there was no menu. Instead we were asked about what we liked, any allergies that we may have had etc. Terry (who happens to be diabetic) explained that she needed no sugar and low carbs. No problem said our waiter. What arrived was a selection of pork, chicken, squid and, of course, potatas bravas. Freshly cooked, piping hot and very tasty. Perfect Tapas for a cold winters day !! Our waiter was very attentive, friendly and welcoming. We had a great time !!

Visited here early evening on a Sunday. Restaurant was pretty quite and very cold - I kept my coat on the whole time I was there. Visited on a voucher deal for 6 tapas for 2 people. As mentioned in other reviews, there is no menu so you tell the waiter/waitress your personal preferences and the chef makes dishes to suit. We asked for prawns, and as my partner is on a carb-free diet, asked that we weren't served any rice or potato dishes. When the '4' portions of tapas arrived (not 6 as per the terms of the voucher), we were told the portions were double size, which I found hard to believe. The only portion that was of any substance was the Patatas Bravas - a potato dish, so obviously the chef hadn't bothered to accommodate our request. Rather than prawns we were served mussels, which were tasty enough, but definitely a tapas size portion. The other 2 dishes were a slice of tortilla and a portion of chicken and red pepper in a medium spiced sauce. We left the restaurant feeling did-satisfied and still hungry and will definitely not be visiting again.

Under new management and just been refurbished we visited for the first time today. Would highly recommend the whole experience. Stephen talked us through the menu taking note of our preferences which resulted in a great selection of food. House wine was excellent and glasses were refilled promptly on request. Can;t understand why such a great find wasn't more popular, however will be telling all my friends that Mi Casa is well worth a visit.

On a voucher deal, so couldn't complain about price - however - 'under new management' and unsure whether that is good or bad. We were booked early, 5.30 on a Saturday but upon entering there was only one other couple eating. They left not long after us, then another couple arrived - we left before them. So for 6 tapas, a couple of glasses of wine and two coffees, 45 minutes all in. Fancy a pudding?? Profiteroles or Ice Cream!!!??? Come on, a nice Crema Catalana would have gone down well, so we swerved pudding. Yes, it was cold outside, but portable electric heaters to warm us up?? Not going back.
