Elena's Spanish Bar & Restaurant in Glasgow City

Stopped here for brunch on a Saturday morning, it was excellent, lovely food and the staff were super, we had three kids with us and they loved the milkshakes

The chicken, potato and egg bowl was EXTREMELY salty and not enjoyable at all. Although the customer service was lovely and the atmosphere felt like being in a beach restaurant in Spain . Lovely vibe

Went for brunch today and the restaurant was incredibly quiet but NO IDEA how the food was absolutely wonderful and the service was 10/10. This placed should be absolutely booked out for breakfast. Will 100% be back.

Came in for the brunch menu with high expectations. Was met by a friendly staff member who seated us quickly which was nice. But unfortunately the food was an utter disappointment. We ordered from the bruch menu, avacado bacon and fried eggs on toasted bread with a hot honey sauce, which sounded lovely. When it came out, it look like a joke, cheap barley toasted white bread stacked ontop of each other, with a peice of bacon ontop with a skewer through it. The hot honey sauce was more like tar, which had already solidified, and glued everything to the plate and was literally inedible. Nothing had flavour and it was all covered by cheap nasty bread. For £10.50 I'd expect it to be at least toasted properly. I couldn't even finish it as the honey sauce was literally like hard glue and stuck to your teeth making it impossible to eat. We also got a side of french fries to share, which were terrible, undercooked and dry. Beyond disappointed with this experience. After making the waitress awear we were unhappy with the food, she went to the kitchen but then never returned, so I will also never be returning to this restaurant.

La salsa de miel era como pegamento de gorila pegado a los dientes y al plato. Patatas fritas no hechas en casa, pero poco cocidas congeladas baratas y toda la comida era insípida. Personal dispuesto a tomar dinero y no volvió después de la queja.

Estaba claro que todo el mundo era apasionado por la comida que se compartía con nosotros. La bienvenida y el servicio fueron cálidos y amables. La comida era un placer. Me encantaron los pimientos padron asados con escamas de sal y el jugo de piña y menta. El helado casero fue el mejor que he probado en mucho tiempo. No podemos esperar para traer amigos y familiares a esta pequeña joya.

Paseando por el mediodía y vio su oferta de comida a la hora del almuerzo. Fue algo un poco diferente así que entramos. Pedido sopa de mariscos y sándwich, con una cerveza más un lado de papas sachi. ¡Incluso el sol salió para que se sintiera aún más como si estuviéramos en España! Súper servicio también.

Some of the best food in the area, very nice atmosphere and good seats arrangement, staff are lovely and really helpful with what to order, again fantastic food, would highly recommend

I would agree with some reviews about paella, not the best at all. We ordered mixed one and it's was lots lots of vegetables, see food and chicken. Black puddings tapas was dry, and cheken skews were over salty.

My boyfriend and I had a lovely lunch this February. The service was excellent, friendly and attentive to your needs. Lots of information given about menu items and portion sizes. My boyfriend had the seafood soup which he loved and the battered prawns which were excellent. I went for the seafood stew which was also very tasty. The portion sizes were reasonable. I particularly like the fact that it is all fresh seafood not frozen. Because I love fresh seafood I would definitely go back. I thought the prices were on the high side but as I love fresh lobster, prawns and clams, I think it is worth a treat from time to time. Love that it's dog friendly. Our overall experience was fantastic and I would recommend this gastro pub .

I came in here from Yorkhill in pain feeling sorry for myself and wanting a comforting hot chocolate. I was met with a smiling face and a nice open teberna. Open enough for those with mobility issues to get seated or takeaway. I heard them being very amenable to a person coming into finalise a mixed ability party booking and as food is made on site they will accommodate your dietary wishes also. The music was at a great level and during my short wait for my tasty racións I even daydreamed that Elena's would be just as welcoming during a fiesta. When i am next in Yorkhill I know where I'm going afterwards. Came in for the chocolate and stayed for food and atmosphere. They well deserve their awards.

Amazing food, decent portions. Very friendly and welcoming staff. The background music is gentle and low, allowing a comfortable conversation and a quiet space to appreciate the food. Quiet restaurants are very rare, so this is my favourite place now.

We went for brunch, I thoroughly enjoyed the Torrijas con helado casero, the fried bread was incredible. My partner was left a bit lacking after ordering the toastie (it was quite small, especially when you consider dukes offer the same for £2.75 & elanas option is 5.50) We were a bit confused as well as to why a glass of orange juice is almost £5 🤯🤯 It is a nice wee dog friendly place, however the prices are a bit confusing (why is a glass of orange juice almost the same price as a toastie?)

The most expensive and the worst paella I have ever had so far. £60 is totally overpriced, especially because it wasn’t even close to what you can call a nice dish. The sea food didn’t taste fresh at all and the overall dish was more like a mushy soup with not a nice taste and different chopped vegetables which I found weird to have in this dish.

I recently visited Elena’s and, while the food was delicious as always, the service was unfortunately lacking this time. Our waitress seemed overwhelmed, leading to a long wait just to place our order. Additionally, we encountered a mix-up with our dishes, which felt a bit awkward when the waiter insisted they were correct. Although I've enjoyed my past visits, this experience was a bit disappointing. I hope they can iron out these hiccups.

Forget the Brunch Club across the street - this is THE place to go for brunch! I ordered potatoes with chorizo and fried eggs and the portion was HUGE and the chorizo was DELISH. Kiddo got mini churros and a hot chocolate which came with freshly roasted marshmallows! Price was great too - around £25 for two, and we left with our tummies happily full. Even directed some of the people wandering around nearby to try it out. Will definitely be back, and already recommending to all my friends.

Great wee authentic place. All the food was phenomenal and very friendly nice staff. Was great to see all the staff sit down together for lunch - just like you see in restaurants in Spain. Great laidback vibe. We will definitely be back!

Had a most enjoyable lunch. Feed was absolutely tremendous. Loved the thin cut calamari but the onions are not a good companion. The Pulpo was the best I’ve had in this country. The crema Catalan was to die for, the wine was excellent value, the goats cheese salad was tremendous. Patatas bravas good but not a potato I would have chosen. The service was excellent. A little quiet which was surprising as the food was fantastico!

I moved to the city a few months ago and I missed the food from home, how happy this restaurant in West End has made me. I start by thanking Lucía for being pleasant and professional. My boyfriend is Scottish and it was a pleasure to listen to him explain everything to us in both English and Spanish. We ordered a beer (Estrella Galicia) and they brought us a tapa (free), it is very common in Spain. 10/10 Basket of warm bread 10/10 Croquettes: they also have chicken and ham, we ordered the vegetarian ones. We highly recommend the spinach ones. 8/10 The padrón peppers were perfect 10/10. Cheese board, I missed other types of Spanish cheeses but I understand that it is difficult to find it or that perhaps they are changing, I will order it anyway on another occasion. Well presented with quince, jam (I think pepper) and nuts. With crackers instead of spikes. 7/10 Garlic shrimp perfect recipe. Normally I had eaten them with smaller shrimp but the mashing and spicy touch was perfect. The flavor of the shrimp too. 10/10 Good atmosphere, it was a pleasure to have the kitchen team eating at the next table (we went to eat at 4:00 p.m.), they made a lunch in no time and it was very fun and pleasant to listen to them. I forgot to ask the cooking time, but I think lunch and dinner are interrupted. There was an incredible dessert offering, I wanted to try the Idiazabal cheesecake. We will definitely return, thank you very much PS: I have never liked the colors of the flag as much as when I saw the glitter in the women's bathroom. Very fun.

Lovely cosy atmosphere and friendly staff here. Has indoor and outdoor seating. Food was amazing with good size portions, you'll only need two plates.

The best restaurant in Glasgow. It has great variety, quality and good prices. The cheesecake for dessert was a great surprise. Highly recommended.

Cannot deny the food was absolutely incredible, really enjoyed every single dish! Happened upon this place because we were in the area for a wedding, so sadly unlikely we will return, but would definitely recommend and if we were back in Glasgow I’m sure we’d seek it out!

First time being here, every time I passed this place kept promising myself I would try it, so glad I did, the food that I had was awesome, so relaxing place, the staff where so nice and explaining the different size of the meals, so we ordered one dish at a time ate that then ordered the n3xt round of tapas, had some wine in between the tapas, would definitely recommend this place, they also have specials on every day.....

A Decent place to Have some drinks in westend of Glasgow.

Fantástico lugar que encontramos en una visita a Glasgow con la familia de Inverness. La comida era muy buena y el servidor era genial y muy bueno con los niños que teníamos con nosotros.

A hit and miss lunch where it took 55 mins before we received any food at the table. We ordered two raciones to start and then a chuleton to share for main. We received one racion then the chuleton and then the second racion. One was clams half of which were closed shut which I highlighted to the waiter he just smiled and walked off. The chuleton, pulpo and wine were great but service was poor and a barking dog when we walked in wasn't ideal. Has potential if service Improves.

Amazing Seafood platter - 10/10 service Plus the unique Spanish desserts!

Just popped in for a beer on a sunny evening and decided to have some food because it smelled so good. We were not disappointed - the staff were lovely, service excellent and the food was delicious. Calamari was perfect, which can be a hit or a miss. We will definitely be back and would recommend if you're looking for delicious, authentic Spanish food 😊

El personal era encantador en el teléfono al hacer una reserva, pero no demasiado atento en el restaurante (no hay agua como se pide o comprobar la comida. ) Nuestra comida era promedio y un poco decepcionante por el precio. Un ejemplo son las patatas bravas que eran simplemente cubos de patata fritos sin salsa. Sin embargo, la ubicación es genial y tuvimos una buena tarde sentados en el sol.

A really nice Spanish tapas joint/restaurant. Me and my lady thoroughly enjoyed the food on offer. It was nice sitting outside to eat also. The calamares were delicious, cooked perfect. The patatas bravas very nice with the garlic aioli. The mussels in a creamy white wine sauce were fantastic but the highlight was the goats cheese and walnuts..absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend this place and will definitely be back..muy bien!

Food is sensational huge choice including some that I have never seen here or Spain. They could probably do with 1 more waiter to speed up service but like everywhere else they are probably struggling for labour.

Excellent Spanish restaurant. The cazuela pescado is average, but the pimientos de padrón, mixed pollo (Spanish fried chicken), and salmon are all delicious.

I just had some mojitos and talked to the owner's daughter. Very nice It was like being in Santander Five stars for me

worst meal I have had in glasgow paid £150 and was utterly disappointed, food was not fresh and the seafood platter was rotten, horrible smell. The lobster flesh was welded to the inside. deffinetly won't be back. don't understand where the good reviews are coming from,

A very nice place that we found by chance, delicious food, great service and good price. The Santiago cake with ice cream, delicious.

I've given 1 star for being dog friendly and 1 star because the male server was happy to allow my husband to have a little taste of the wine to help him decide. After that things weren't so good: service indifferent bordering on rude, wrong items brought, items we had ordered not brought and having to be requested several times before arrival, items we hadn't ordered added to the bill and not even an attempt to look apologetic. And the food. What a disappointment. We complained about the cornbread being too bitter (too much baking powder?? ) but again, not even an apology or explanation. Bland paella, over cooked fried tapas without the advertised red wine reduction. We went elsewhere for dessert and coffees and we won't be back. Can't understand who's given them all the framed awards displayed around the place

Went to buy portion of churros . Waited for 20 mins and literally got such a small portion for 8.50 pounds . Looks like ii was served cold and left over portion . Horrible experience and horrible service

Don’t waste your money. Preheated poor food which is unbelievably overpriced! Learn how to cook! Family who have lived in Spain and this wasn’t up to standard! Don’t pretend to be something you’re not and stop robbing people! I’m also now adding onto my review after taking the time to read other 1 star reviews and it seems all the owner can do is make excuses to excuse their inability. Take the feedback on board. It’s actually not your customers fault!

The food is over priced and mine was quite greasy . Not bad flavour though . My husband had the chicken screwers which came out within 2 mins , we can only mean it was pre-made and then just reheated, definitely not made fresh . Chicken was not sizzling hot just warm. Unfortunately the staff didn’t know what a cortado coffee was, so I googled it and decided to have one with my brûlée , coffee very nice, brûlée terrible . The sugar was not warmed up as it should be the whole brûlée was cold fridge cold , so again not freshly made . Meal cost £72 over priced for average pre heated food .

Hemos comido aquí antes y como de costumbre la comida está TAN llena de sabor. Para empezar se llevan a la mesa dos pequeñas tapas gratis mientras pedimos. Pedimos 5 tapas entre dos de nosotros y esto fue más que suficiente. Aunque siempre elijo las croquetas mixtas, la próxima vez voy a elegir una de las opciones sin mezclar, solo para variar. Los espárragos empanados en ajo eran increíbles. El Blancp Leia lo lavó todo con un capricho, y la tarta santiago fue increíble. ¡Como siempre esperamos la próxima vez!

After visiting the museum, the restaurant was nearby, so we walked-in directly at noon. When we arrived at the restaurant, there were many awards and photos of celebrities as guests. We ordered paella and two sides recommended by the pretty waitress, as well as drinks recommended by Google. They were so delicious that even my old lady drank three large glasses and drank three bowls of paella. I think the sides recommended by the beautiful waiter are the best.

A slice of Spain in Glasgow West End - really feels out of place considering the surroundings, but in the best way. Gorgeous food, sangria and great place to meet with friends.

Bit expensive but the aubergine dish was really tasty.

We just stopped off on a sunny day for a cava in the sunshine. Lovely outdoor space and the staff were great. We didn't eat this time, but the food smells coming from the kitchen were amazing!

Went for late lunch / early dinner for a birthday and had a lovely time. The staff were engaging and helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and the best way for us to order. Every dish was delicious and we were struggling to finish everything in the end. We were going to go somewhere else for a drink afterwards but had had such a lovely time we ended up just sitting outside in a rare blast of Glasgow sunshine with another bottle of wine and another delightful waitress. Can't wait to go back. 😋😋😋

Terrible food. Served dishes forgot one served this one 15 mins later. Also one dish served on a dish with three chips out the plate. I am sure this health hazard. Also very over priced states on menu tapas plates bigger than normal tapas dishes. Not true had to stop for chips on the way home.

I'm sorry really? I ordered cheesecake and got a bunch of slop alongside a few strawberries. The bread was that hard that if I threw it at someone it would have instantly put them in a coma. The homemade meatballs were adequate.

Perfect meal at Elena's! Booked to go before a concert at the Hyrdo and the food and service were amazing. The gentleman who was our server was so knowledgeable about each of the dishes and made great recommendations for us. By far some of the most authentic tapas in Glasgow. Can't wait to return.

Que maravilha esse restaurante simples ,limpo e um atendimento de primeira. Que delicia estava a mariscada, e como se notava que estava fresco e para finalizar tomamos uns Daiquiri de morango e abacaxi preparado pelas maos de fada da dona do restaurante. SUPER RECOMENDO!

Very pricey for what it is. Menu online is not accurate with options, prices or deals. We actually planned to do 3 for 2 as seen online, but there was no forewarning that this was weekdays lunchtime only, so we couldn't afford much on the menu. 4 couples went for saturday night dining. Service was non-existent, took a logn time of waving down and getting staff attention for orders and replacing water. No one asked how are food was. Not personalised or particularly polite. Ordered a slight alteration to a dish that was brought to the table inaccurately, had to wait a long while for another replacement which was a shame. Quite noisy inside, too loud for effective conversation. Hard chairs, a little uncomfortable, they did have comfier ones but we weren't reserved them unfortunately. Food was nice though, I would say a bit too heavily oiled for my personal taste. I wouldn't go again just because of cost and loud atmosphere, think the room echo's everyone's voice quite badly.

We were a group of 4 and had a variety of dishes, all of which were very good. It was a lunchtime and was quite quiet but I would imagine it would be much busier in the evening. The service was friendly, helpful and efficient. I would definitely go back.

The food here was the best food we had in Glasgow!! It’s family friendly and had something for everyone! Service was speedy and welcoming.

Food was fine but when it came to ordering dessert the waitress informed us that we would have to wait 20 minutes before we could place our order as the chefs were having a break! One of our group complained, there wasn’t much by way of apology and we waited at least another 40minutes by the time some of the desserts arrived. It wasn’t explained when we booked, arrived or ordered that the chefs would have a break during our meal. The cleanliness of the ladies toilets was poor. Don’t think we’ll return or recommend this restaurant.

This restaurant has been our favorite in the town for a while. However, the experience on 18th was rather disappointing. The waiter didn’t take our order after 40mins we’ve been seated. The steak was undercooked, then overcooked when it got reheated. Another waiter put the dish on the desk heavily to show he’s not happy about us. Won’t go back again

Visited during lunch so was lovely and quiet. Very nice clean, welcoming restaurant. Alcohol free drinks were lovely. Food was delicious especially the desserts. Service was great, staff very friendly. Would definitely come back.

Brilliant food with big portions (for tapas). Really enjoyed our meal with highlights being pork loin, langoustines and octopus. Staff were very friendly and couldn't have done more for us. We'll be back for sure.

I feel this place is such a disappointment! I’m from Barcelona and i was recommended this place and i did not like it, the service was poor, the tapas were expensive but frozen supermarket quality and the mains had nothing to do with good Spanish flavours. Please go anywhere else but here!

Sad to say that it's not as tasty as it may seem. The vegetables were incredibly salty, Sauces really vinegary, the chocolate mousse had a really strange taste, and the cream on it was definitely squirty cream. It was also incredibly overpriced for the quality.

We thought we would give Elena's a try for lunch for my husbands birthday, given all the great reviews. I'm sorry to say we were disappointed. We selected the clams along with other dishes. After a short time, the waitress came to tell us there were no clams that day 😔 We then asked for the shavings of Iberian ham and sadly were advised that there was no Iberian ham 😔 So we finally settled on meatballs as nothing else took our fancy. When the meatballs arrived, so quickly, I am sorry to say they were cold. The waitress did apologise and rightly removed the dish from our bill. We were left feeling deflated after having looked forward to something different.
