Mezbaan in Milton Keynes

ORDERED A SO CALLED DUMPHUKHT CHICKENT BIRYANI FOR TAKEWAY. FIRSTLY WAS GIVEN A WET BAG DUE TO WAITERS HANDS BEING WET. THEN THE FOOD WAS COLD SO I WENT BACK AND THEY JUST REHEATED THE BIRYANI. FOOD TASTED AWFUL. THEY SERVE YOU FOOD WHICH WAS COOKED 2DAYS BEFORE. NEVER RECOMMEND. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON POOR QUAILTY FOOD!

We went with family,the food was yummy and nice friendly staff. We ordered lamb handi,butter chicken and afghani naan ,chicken biryani. Drinks lassi was really tasty ,my hubby really liked it very much. Dessert-matka kulfi my children enjoyed it very much.

Group of 18 for 3 course lunch. Really nice restaurant, comfortable, clean & tidy, staff welcoming & helpful. Outstanding food, well presented, hot & plentiful. Service was extremely attentive & courses well timed. Had a couple of mocktails, 'pina colada', tasted great. Check with the restaurant if you can bring your own as they don't serve alcohol, we had some bottles of our own wine. All in all, this was a great meal in a very nice environment, would highly recommend the restaurant & would definitely use again.

I had my first experience at Mezbaan on New Year's Eve this year with my wife, and it was highly disappointing. The service was extremely poor and unprofessional; we often found ourselves without plates or cutlery after ordering. Additionally, simple requests like a straw for my wife were met with staff serving it to her with their hands. They also served canned drinks, which I found tacky. The quality of the food matched the service, leaving much to be desired. Despite the initial letdown, we decided to give Mezbaan another chance during Ramadan. I booked a table for three, as my brother was traveling from Reading to Milton Keynes. It was also his birthday a few days prior, so we wanted to treat him. However, I was surprised to be asked for a deposit upon booking, which had to be done via bank transfer, adding unnecessary hassle. When we arrived, we were seated at a cramped outdoor table with makeshift chairs (these were outdoor tables with tissue paper tablecloths chucked on), despite the reservation being made for three people. The lack of communication about the limited space was frustrating, especially given our sizes—both my brother and I are tall (over 6ft). Throughout the meal, we were constantly interrupted by passing waitstaff, further detracting from the experience. Despite ordering promptly after iftar time, we waited over an hour for our starters, while other tables had already been served. Only after my wife spoke to a waitress did we manage to get another table from outside added on, although it was still far from ideal. When the food finally arrived, it fell short of expectations. The kabuli pilau lacked seasoning, and the meat in the mixed grill was disappointingly sparse. We even had to complain to receive properly sized lamb chops. See the picture of the pathetic lamb chops which were just bone basically. We finally got a semi refreshed mixed grill but by that time our appetites were gone. To make matters worse, the prices were exorbitant, with over £100 for three people. They also attempted to overcharge us, forgetting the deposit I had already paid. Overall, Mezbaan's poor service, subpar food, and lack of communication make it a place I will not be returning to. It's particularly disheartening to experience such problems during Ramadan. They should’ve told us when we booked that they were overbooked as it’s not right that we had to sit so uncomfortably; there was a time they kept making us move our table back so they could get their food trolley through and the table actually hurt my wife’s knees as it knocked into her.

Booked a table for 4 at 7.15 and arrived a couple of minutes beforehand.Stood waiting in the doorway for 20 minutes for a table to become available ( though had four tables been cleared of food waste people could have sat there). Once seated it took over an hour for starters to arrive,followed by a further wait for the main course.Waitresses didn’t seem at all interested in serving anyone.It’s a nice restaurant with a lovely atmosphere, but the service is horrendous.Food was alright,but nothing special, and there are much better restaurants around.

Delish food, took three children and they loved it. Casual dining, staff friendly, we thoroughly enjoyed it and food very tasty and good value.

We were a group of 7 and visited the restaurant on a Tuesday evening and upon arrival the place was buzzing with customers which was a good sign. We had a variety of starters folowed by the mains which was a lamb biryani, family mixed grill and naans. The food was very tasty and flavoursome and we enjoyed the mocktails as this restaurant does not serve alcohol. The ambience is pleasant and the decor good. Service is unhurried and they will go out of their way to make your visit a pleasant one. A definate repeat visit on the cards and keep up the excellent work. Thank you very much.

The decor was better than. The food. The service was slow but with a smile. And we're asked to move after our starters were served our starters. Very upsetting to see if definitely was not worth the delay.

Really enjoyed dining here. As mentioned by others, service is a bit slow, but apart from that everything else is great. The food is amazing. We will return. Note, no alcohol is available at this restaurant.

Slightly overpriced but very generous portion sizes so i guess it is reasonable. We ordered the chapli kebab, lamb handi and chicken biryani. The food was great. was apprehensive due to bad reviews but was better than expected. Only disappointment was they had ran out of the kabuli pulao. Seating arrangement/layout of the restaurant could be improved - defiantly not a fancy restaurant

This place may still be around a bit longer as there are not that many other halal options in Milton Keynes. Though I guarantee it even if you think you can't cook you will make better food then this at home. The chicken had no taste and the kebabs were undercooked I'm waiting for us to all have stomach aches. The mixed grilled was piled up like I was being presented mash potatoes. The door wasn't working outside so it was freezing cold the whole time and when we asked to move we were told we couldn't. Hard pass!

I travel from london to eat from Meezbaan, plz avoid this resturant. Nice place to sit and relax but main thing FOOD is not good .i was so embarrassed front of my guests whom i drive to Milton keynes from london. The grill we got is full of Fat, small portion, not value for money. I regret to waste money more importantly time. I advice people to not go this restaurant. Its a fair comment nothing personal. Restaurant decor is calming and relax., but food is horrendous.

This spot was heaving and we was expecting something more! The chicken Karahi wasn’t as hot as we asked instead it was mild. The service was a little slow and I felt like I had to keep asking where my food was or can we have salt. They never came once to ask if the food was actually okay?! I mean if you want a decent curry then this isn’t the place unfortunately. Starters were good but the mains were very bland, no spice, no taste! Lacks in so much flavour. Unfortunately the food came after 65 minutes so I couldn’t take any photos of the bland food.

It was a great experience to host my guests at “Mezbaan Restaurant”. Served several meals from starters to main course, ended with desserts. Everything was fantastic; the service was amazing, with prompt service. Indeed, my guests were very glad to have a fabulous dinner. Very well done, entire team “Mezbaan Restaurant”.

I came earlier on today spent nearly £40 service is so poor. Travelled from Birmingham for this disgraceful. I came with my family and kids and i asked the waiter neeraj for water for kids he said sorry we dont do tap water for kids you have to pay. I advised really i came last week and you gave me and my colleagues tap water??? Then he said yea we changes our policy last week. He was so rude and then stood there with the ipad kept trying to force me to order drinks i asked to speak to a manager he said he not here. Food came out 45 min later afghaan cold and keema rock hard but we couldnt wait any longer and had to another nan. I asked at the till manager still not here he said no hes gone out please make payment. I cant belive such poor service and quality of food is acceptable. Just for your info i spent £70 last week with colleagues. I have receipts and pictures should you need it Staff need to be trained how to deal and speak to customers and should be toilet roll in mens loo. The partner promised to call me back and said he will look into i rang him after several attempts for 2 weeks eventually he picked up and said oh the waiter dint say anything your word against his we cant do anything. Honestly stay away from this place utter disgusted to waste my money in this place were customers are not even respected all they care about is making money not service or quality of food!!!!

Whilst we were visiting Milton Keynes, we stumbled onto Mezbaan, a beautiful restaurant with gorgeous decor, amazing food, and generous portions. We were greeted by the lovely Hira, through out our meal she was attentive, and the service was superb. Nothing was too MUCH for her. A special thank you to Hira, she helped us with the menu, the ambience was lovely.

Food and service was 10/10 We tried the charsi chicken with kabli pilau and the Afghan naan and it was delicious. Me and my husband enjoyed the food and the service from Priya was amazing. She’s such a lovely girl! Thank you so much for the lovely food and service!

A warm welcome and attentive service throughout to ensure we were happy. Delicious flavoursome food, Afghanistan and Bangladeshi cuisine. You choose how mild or hot you want the dishes. Mocktails available which is a plus for us. We skipped starters to make sure we had room for a dessert we wanted to try. Aloo Keema, Bindi Masala, naan and roti all delicious and the Shahi Kheer dessert was gorgeous. Will be back for more and highly recommend.

Excellent food especially the Chicken Handi which is the second time I have had this dish. Service by Priya was fantastic. She helped us choose dishes we have not tried before and frankly made our evening even more enjoyable. Will definitely return!
