Merrie England Coffee Shop in Kirklees

Called at the Merry England Pack Horse Centre Huddersfield today 1st September. Ordered a Beef Sandwich with Onion, a Date crumble and an Eccels Cake. These were to take out. Got back home the Sandwich was fine. The Eccels cake was disgusting the currants were like a paste, the pastry was burned. The Date crumble was “ missing” not in the bag at all. As a previous customer I will think twice about going back. If that is the quality and type of service it has come too.

We just popped in for a quick cup of tea, coffee and cakes on the way to our holiday cottage. Staff friendly and helpful but not much selection of cakes.

We both ordered beef and onion sandwiches my friend had coffee I had a cup of tea never had a cup of tea served in a restaurant with the tea bag left in it, not even a pot of tea and my sandwich and small cup of tea came to nearly £6.50 all I can say is never again the beef was very thinly sliced just not filling at all just not appetising won't be visiting any of their shops ever again.
