Superb - from initial ordering such friendly polite staff / delivered to our campsite …… again excellent service with the biggest friendly smile and on time and food piping hot 👍 all starters and main dishes were delicious - can not rate highly enough 🤩

We have ordered from Meriden spice for nearly 7yrs now. Having recently moved area this business has gone above and beyond to still deliver to us with no let up in the quality. We have just had the most delicious curry a family of 5 everyone one us happy. Quality service and food. If we can’t have Meriden spice il just cook my own! No competition thanks guys!

Wow , what an evening me and my wife have had at Meriden spice . Great service from all the staff and the food we ordered was amazing . Traveled up from Somerset for the caravan camping show at the n e c .asked to try different sauces as wasn’t sure about how hot the spice would be . ( so glad we did ) . After ordering our food we chatted with a lovely gent ( didn’t get his name) assume he was the owner as was very passionate about the food and the restaurant . When we come back next year myself and my wife will be booking meridian for our main evening meal without any hesitation . Thank you Meriden for a great night .

Food, service and additional charm is fantastic, this place is quite special and quant being based above a pub (access from the rear). Drinks and food are paid for separately - family run by people that do care and become long-term friends to all. Highly recommended and due to be opening another restaurant with a difference soon... 👍😉🙏‼️✔️

Absolutely great venue for a curry, staff are so friendly and the place is a little quirky and oldy worldly which is really great, now the food is top quality, best naan bread I've had for years and the lamb I had was so tender. All in all it was a great night out. Oh and you have to go round the left side of the building to get round the back of the pub to the restaurant. Highly recommend this place!!

Table of 8 ate here last night while staying at the hotel down the road. The staff were friendly and attentive, nothing was a problem. Food was brilliant, the whole party enjoyed their meals washed down with great beers from the pub downstairs.

Underwhelming, vegetable Bhaji was a tray of chopped veg, chicken korma watery, naan bread tough, murgh just spicy, no flavour and very tough onions used (outer skin normally disposed of) won’t order again from here, not value for money or good quality unfortunately.

This place is the definition of a hidden gem. I am not exaggerating when I say this was the nicest curry I've ever had (we had the Handi Gosht), I'm writing this in the pub next door because me and my other half can't stop talking about it. Decent prices, good portions, really friendly people, and the food was amazing. And there's a pub next door for all your drinks. All in all, definitely worth going out of your way for.

Every time we visit I order something different and they never disappoint! Great range of traditional curries and signature dishes, something to please everyone in our family. The restaurant itself is a little quirky (feels like you’re in someone’s living room!) but don’t be put off by this, the food will make you forget about it! The service is always great and the staff have a great sense of humour. The restaurant itself doesn’t have a license so all drinks come from the pub downstairs - this means there is a really wide range of drinks rather than just one type of lager on tap. My partner loves that he can get a draught IPA with his curry! Definitely worth a visit.

We were just visiting and popped to the Queen's Head for a pint, noticed this place from the beer garden and booked a table. Honestly one of the best curries I have had in a while. It's small but had a very friendly atmosphere. Will recommend to anyone visiting the area.

been before to eat in and loved it but the takeaway tonight was disappointing. The chicken tikka massala was so over powered with coconut and the sauce bitty didn't enjoy it at all, also the egg fried rice full of black burnt bits.

Amin and his dad were so friendly and accommodating it almost felt like they were part of our friend group. Definitely 11 full bellied happy people when we left.

We were staying at Somers wood caravan site , about a mile & a half away , one of the restaurant staff kindly dropped us back to the site , save us walking in the dark & rain , very kind . Arrived for our first visit to this restaurant a few minutes before our 8:00 p m booking, but the table was not ready as the diners from an earlier booking were lingering; we were about to discover why. Invited by the proprietor to take a drink in the lounge of the pub below and 20 minutes later the gentleman came down to collect us and our drinks. For starters we shared a tandoori combination and for mains we chose a couple of the signature dishes supplemented with a dhal, portion of basmati rice and a nan. Not only would I would describe the taste of the food as outstanding, but the quantity of food was also ample. We really took our time to enjoy all the flavours. It is quite a small restaurant having perhaps 35 or so covers. It seemed to us that there were many regular diners as there was a fair deal of friendly conversation with the staff, but this did not delay or spoil the service in any way. All in all we had a splendid meal and a super evening.

Probably the best jalfrezi I have ever had! And I have a jalfrezi at least once a week. Service was awesome and the family owned business guys were lovely. A great experience. (Don’t order a taxi; use Uber!) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Went here for the first time last night and was very impressed. Their menu has so many different choices and food was superb. This is the best Indian restaurant I’ve been to and I’m just sad that it’s all the way in Meriden and not closer to me. Staff were very friendly.

An amazing family owned Bangladeshi restaurant above the Queens Head in Meriden. We have been eating here for a number of years, and are always amazed at the quality of the food, the friendliness of the staff, and the excellent service. If you enjoy lamb, then try the traditional Bangladeshi Handi dish. The slow cooked lamb melts in the mouth, and the sauce is rich and medium spiced- Great with the incredible light and fluffy Nan bread. The pub bar below supply the restaurant with a great selection of drinks, including real ales.

We had another lovely night at Meriden Spice. We were celebrating a 70th birthday. Great service. Staff couldn’t be nicer and they always want to make sure you’ve had a good time. Food can be tailored to your tastes. Drinks are from the Queens Head pub downstairs, which has a good range of beers and other drinks. We visit regularly and have recommended to friends and family who also love it.

Meriden Spice is an amazing family run little restaurant. The food is amazing, their South Indian Chilli Masala is one of the best curries I’ve even had, spicy but delicious. Elvis, Sarg, Junior and the team are so wonderful, they make you feel like part of their family.

What a wonderful find. Very friendly staff, wonderful food and good atmosphere. The other diners were obviously regular customers and friendly which made the whole experience enjoyable. Highly recommend.

Dined here with a friend of mine and it was an incredible experience, lovely service, waiters showed great care towards us both. I started with the King Prawn Butterfly and it was delicious and a great way to begin my dining experience at Meriden Spice. I then had the Chicken Badami as a main with a garlic cheesy Naan, it was unreal! I enjoyed every bite until I was full, I’ve then taken it home and cannot wait to finish it off. Great price, unreal food and a great time there, certainly will be going again in the next few weeks!! I can’t compare this to any Indian I’ve had before, top class, couldn’t recommend anymore!!

Ended up going two night in a row, as my sister and I were visiting the Birmingham NEC stitch show, our guest house was amazing the Indian restaurant was recommended by the guest house. We have decided that when we visit the NEC next year we will be having our evening meal here.

Meriden Spice is NOT easy to find, though well worth investigating. Located directly behind The Queen's Head, Old Road, Meriden, it is accessible via fairly steep winding steps, situated directly on the left side of the pub. It is an Indian/south Asian takeaway/delivery and dine in restaurant and we are regular (delivery) customers. Often a weekly 'no cooking night' treat the meals delivered are normally very tasty and 'moreish' regularly scoring 4/5 and sometimes 5/5. Not the most recent takeaway, which all agreed was a 2 - 3 out of 5. Bland, with very watery curry so we were pretty disappointed to be honest. Hopefully then, a blip re Meriden Spice. (Will advise after next meal)... *UPDATE* Tried Meriden Spice again and am pleased to say food was very nice with prompt and friendly delivery!

I love this place! I live in the US but make it a point to visit Meriden Spice whenever we visit for the CKCSC Show. Far better than what we get in the states, best I’ve had since my last visit to Chennai. You will notice there isn’t much food in the pictures…it’s because we ate it all! Staff is next to none and it has a homey local feel with friendly patrons as well.

This place is a genuine delight. The food is superb, the place is wonderfully quirky, and the service was second to none. The staff there made a huge effort to make my dad feel special (so much so that he felt a bit like a mafia boss). The curry is spectacular, but the best part is the naan. I think that you can judge a place on its naan and they serve some of the best naan that I've ever had. I couldn't recommend this place more. Superb!

I ordered a lamb biryani online for collection. Picked it up and got home to find they've given me a chicken biriyani. They had closed by the time i got home so couldn't contact or go back. Slightly annoyed as i was craving lamb. Chicken biryani is decent. Staff are friendly.

I got a takeaway from there last Saturday night and it was honestly the best Indian food I've ever tasted. I would highly recommend the Lamb Chat Masala, which is under starters on the menu - such a rich and beautiful flavour! I also shared a Chicken Handi and a Lamb Pathia with my husband and both dishes were just beautiful. The peshwari naan I had was much nicer than I've had before, it's not too sweet and has a very nice delicate flavour that doesn't take away from the flavour of the dishes. Another thing to comment on was the staff, who were very warm and friendly. They were very busy but so friendly, very happy to answer questions and to recommend dishes.

Always great food, whenever we fancy a treat this is our go to Indian.

First visit to this restaurant and wow didn’t disappoint. Staff were very attentive, super friendly and made everyone feel welcome and relaxed. They were really good with the families with young children and there was a lovely atmosphere- rare in most restaurants these days. Food was simply delicious - the best Indian I have had in a very long time - they definitely take a lot of time and effort in producing first class food - nothing processed just good tasty food. Anyone looking for somewhere new - give them a go - you won’t be disappointed.
