Upon arrival, the lack of a formal reception area and receptionist took us aback. When we left, no member of staff bid us farewell or asked us about our stay. I think this unusual for a 4 star hotel. Otherwise, a pleasant stay in a hotel staffed by pleasant people.

We’ve just a great weekend at MM, made extra special by a man named Simon who I believe to be the manager. Simon took care of every detail for us and made us feel very welcome and made the stay very enjoyable. Thank you Simon! The hotel itself was wonderfully laid out with Christmas decorations and classic Christmas music was being softly played over the speakers. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall a great stay at MM.

Merchants Manor hosted a family event for us in their elegant and light-ful Library. We were served a delicious and beautiful Afternoon Tea spread with a Prosecco reception. The staff were excellent, so friendly and attentive. I can’t give them high enough compliments. There whole experience brought an element of class and luxury to our special gathering. Highly recommend!

The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel is very nice, with comfortable beds and quiet rooms. The cooked breakfast was really good with a choice of home made breads. All in all, it was a very pleasant place to stay.

Very nice up market hotel a converted grandhouse. Beautiful. architecture interiors designed to match. It was a very comfortable stay, well appointed room. Lots of parking, does have that "no lift" issue, be aware the upper floors could be a problem. The restaurant was solid, but pretty limited menu. Standard breakfast included, cooked to order. Solid local option.Wi fi secure.

The food really is excellent and the range of desserts quite outstanding. The service was very good, and everyone friendly and helpful. Very popular and rightly so.

The best hot chocolate drink with cream and marshmallows I had in Cornwall during a 2 week holiday and the cheapest. Also polite friendly staff

We booked to stay at "The Beach club" as advertised on the website. The photo's look fabulous. The reality, once it came time for our stay, was that we received a "we look forward to greeting you" from Hotel Penzance! When we got there the building was NOT the one in the photographs, it was up a very steep road as was the parking. The young man at the reception insisted we were at The Beach Club, and he was rude and surly. To pay for parking, he refused cash but did not have a machine to tap or put a card in and insisted on writing our card number down. We were very unhappy about this! Be aware, in spite of our room being acceptable for our 1 night stay in the end, you are NOT getting what you think you are if you see a photo of a lovely aqua coloured building on the waterfront. It is false advertising. Interestingly, next day we found The Beach Club building on the waterfront. Locked up, no staff and quite run down, not at all as advertised. BE AWARE

Just disappointing again. Thin cod. It used to be chunky and cooked to perfection, now it tends to be over cooked with some brown flesh.
