They catered for our friends' nikkah. The food was outstanding, authentic, fresh Pakistani cuisine. Many dietary requirements catered for. Excellent, friendly service.

Just had the most wonderful food here! We asked the lovely lady if we could have the corner booth and it was no issue at all. This wonderful lady was so friendly and had such a welcoming and warm smile and demeanor. I loved being able to see the chefs at work in the kitchen. The food was very fresh and full of flavour. My partner and I shared lamb and okra and butter chicken, rice and peshawar naan. All after poppadoms and the yummiest spiced onions as a starter. Couldn't fault a thing, the portions were spot on, the service was speedy and everything was hot and delicious! You would be a fool to pass by and not pop in and partake in this culinary delight, you wouldn't be disappointed I promise you. Can't wait to return to try more of this truly authentic food cooked with love in such a family atmosphere. Thank you

Excellent Pakistani food - one of the best restaurants in Edinburgh. Very clean (including the washrooms 😊). Good service from the staff.

Really tasty food and relaxed atmosphere, staff friendly and attentive. Good to have curry that is well spiced and lots of meat not just sauce.

We visited this restaurant after a six nations match. While we were initially put off as there was no alcohol, you could not even bring yourown, we decided to stay and we were glad we did. All 4 dishes ordered were excellent with the peppers andonions nicely crunchy. A great find.

Crap food and crap service. Waited 20+ mins to get my order taken when the restaurant only had 2 other table worth of customers. Once I complained to the owner who was at the back cooking he questioned the girl at the desk. The girl who seems to be the manager or maybe wife of owner refuses completely even going as far as saying someone had come and I had said I'm not ready to order. Why would I say this and then complain to owner?? The woman then spoke to the waiter who had come to take my order and I could over hear her saying that if owner asks him about the table to tell him he went to my table and I I had asked for more time to order. This is horrendous and unacceptable from any restaurant. Little did the girl know I spoke Punjabi, the language in which she was lying to the owner and speaking to the waiter.

Mera Lahore is the best Pakistani restaurant we have been to, and we’ve been to a few, never fails to deliver amazing curries. We’re regular visitors here now and have been for the best part of a year so much so my husband describes a curry he’d like and it’s made to the highest standard. This wee gem is a must visit if you like a proper authentic curry!

We went on a Saturday evening when we had been unable to get into the restaurant we had wanted to without reservations, and were recommended to this one by a nearby doorman. We ended up very glad as the food here was marvellous! Our waiter was knowledgeable and helpful - the lights got turned up quite brightly for some reason and he kindly turned them back down at our request. The sauces with the pappadums were excellent and the masala chai was, although slow to arrive, deliciously strong and well spiced, which is not always the case. I had the Bhindi gosht which was delicious, and a garlic coriander naan. Others had a achari chicken, lamb Karahi, chicken tikka bhuna. All loved their dishes. They had rasamalai which was a rare treat for me. We would definitely return anytime we are back in Edinburgh.

This restaurant seems popular with locals so we thought it would be a great choice. We changed seats as the door was left open for delivery collection. Hence the room a little cool. Disappointed the pakora and bhaji all done. We were offered a substitute samosa. It was ok. But the waitress couldn't remember on serving which was vegetarian/or minced lamb. Not great practice for a non meat eater. We have lived in Tooting SW London and have always enjoyed eating extensive Asian cuisine. Yet the waitress assumed us ignorant over knowledge of world cuisine. Asking if we had eaten samosa before?!! Our main order came. It was pretty average. Customer service training would support young staff. She stood over as we read the bill waiting with the card machine hovering. Really off putting.

We live nearby and remembered they were open for ‘breakfast’ so went with a friend around 11am on a Sunday morning. Fantastic from start to finish. So well looked after by Mehwish who showed us the buffet they do on a Sunday. We all loved it, you get a metal tray with different sized compartments and order Puri, Naan etc to go with it. Every dish was delicious and we finished with real Chai. Great Pakistani food.

Good taste of the food we got. The food was not served with rice, sauce or salad. We therefore ended up with naan bread and skewers of meat, without anything else. Food and service was slow.

We chose this restaurant due to a menu found in our hotel. The menu indicates that there is a set meal A and a set meal B that can be ordered at a discount. We walked 2 km to the restaurant only to find out that the set menus are available only for takeout, which is not specified on the menu. Disappointing. The restaurant is bright and clean (with chandeliers) but noisy with silverware and dishes clattering as well as echoing voices of other patrons. You can view the kitchen through glass windows. We ordered chicken shashlik and chicken jalfrezi with rice and garlic naan. The jalfrezi chicken was served in a skillet and was juicy and tasty. The chicken shashlik was served with vegetables and in large chunks of chicken. With no sauce, the chicken was rather dry. The mushroom rice was tasty and ample and the two garlic Nan halves were also tasty.

Dreadful experience- waited for almost an hour - no food, despite assurances, other tables served in the interim, then left. Evidently, will not return under any circumstances.

We have enjoyed many meals at the Ronaq both in Market Street and in Comely Bank, but I am afraid our experience on Sunday evening was terrible. My husband had the fish tikka and after eating we headed for the bus. On travelling back home he became really ill, burning and sickness. When we did manage to get home he was sick all night and most of Sunday. Don’t know what has happened to this restaurant but I definitely won’t return. I called the Manager on Monday to raise a complaint but it was as though he wasn’t interested. There are better places to eat in Edinburgh. Shocking.

I've been here a few times since it opened but this was the first time for about a year. The food was very good but for a Saturday night the place was empty: no more than 2 tables being used at a time during the whole time we were there, although it did do a steady trade in carry-outs. Even although it was quiet the service was less than attentive. There were 2 waiters and someone who appeared to be the manager but who seemed to do very little. We were not made to feel welcome. The food was very good, not too spicy hot like I find with some restaurants. It's such a shame about the atmosphere and service and I wonder why it was so quiet.
