Every bit as good as the last time we visited. Proper place with good, honest food and friendly staff. Quiet, tucked away location with plenty of parking is an added bonus.

I must say I was blown away by this place. Great cafe and good food but what really makes it awesome is the people. We visited here whilst waiting for a relative having surgery in the hospital near by, they were so hospitable and caring. Some really lovely people

Absolutely brutal ordered a toasted BLT and a bacon Baguette firstly the bread was burnt so bad it was black bacon was under cooked the baguette contained only 2 pieces of bacon which was also undercooked got a tea dish water would have been better why we didn’t complain I got this as a take away a waste of £12.

Got to be the most underated cafe in Romford. Staff are very friendly, and the cafe is always clean and comfortable. I've been to Mels a number of time, yet I am always pleasantly suprised by the large portion sizes and the food always tastes amazing. I would thoroughly reccomend.

My friends and I go to Mel’s all the time. We love a Saturday morning breakfast there together because they’re always so well made but a personal favourite is the grilled marinated chicken salad. There’s always a friendly face and Mel is a proper joker.

This is a great cafe tucked away behind the Rom Valley Way retail park. Covered outdoor seating, great food and very friendly staff - my favourite cafe in the whole area and I recommend highly.

Popped in to Mel' Cafe in the Seedbed Centre (behind Homebase & opposite Queens Hospital) on Saturday morning for a bacon roll.It became a weekly calling and I upgraded to proper cooked breakfasts.Staff are friendly & welcoming.Service is excellentQuality of food is great too.Portions, perfect for a fella who likes his food .Any variations to the set menu has been accommodated with nothing other than a "no problem"There's parking there too.Mel's Cafe is worth being on your radar if looking for a bite if at the hospital, in town or just passing.

Myself and my partner had lunch here today after going to queen's hospital. What a hidden gem this place is. Spotlessly clean with a Mediterranean feel outside. My partner had a fried breakfast and I had ham egg and chips. The portions were huge so it's definitely value for money. Hospitality of the couple who run it is second to none. Very friendly and made us feel welcome. I would absolutely eat here again if I'm in the area.

Mel’s is a lovely little cafe just off the ring road. The staff are always friendly and the atmosphere welcoming. Good food and drinks at reasonable prices. Card payment is accepted for purchases over £3.00 and there is parking outside. A great little cafe which I will visit again.

Popped in here for lunch in the middle of a long walk. Had a rather nice Chicken Kiev with chips and salad. Chips were a bit 'sharp' in taste, but not too bad. No dessert offerings bar some chocolate and one wrapped cake.Had to ask for a glass for my canned drink; not everyone wants to drink out of a can.

Mels Cafe has a rude staff. The owner is absolutley disquasting. The cafe smells of oil. ( it must be very old) No fans used to get rid of the smell. The food is average, portions quite okay but not fresh. Their choices of salads are really poor and yet again not fresh, lettuce looks brown. Very dissapointed

Brother told us about this place. Easy to miss it. It’s behind pets at home/ mothercare in Romford (other side of the road to Queens Hospital)There are some business units in the seedbed centres here and Mels is just by the wire fences. There’s an outside area with lots of tables and chairs, An inside area too. Lots of parking in the seedbed area or by the retail units. We came here for brunch one Saturday about 10 am. The place was full of local police. They were obviously regulars, chatting eating etc.We ordered breakfasts and drinks. They arrived shortly and were huge.Mine was so big I couldn’t finish the bubble and squeak .All sorts of set breakfasts from £4-50 to 6-50It’s all clean and tidy and not cramped at all.Got chatting to our waiter who I think is Mel who is the owner? He’s funny!Lovely guy, other staff great too.He even Offered us a free drink .This will be a regular haunt of ours from now on.Must be good My brother goes here most weeks!

My partner and I today visited this little 'out of the way' cafe for some lunch. Upon arrival, it was easy to park and we noticed the tables and chairs looked nice in the midday sun.

We often dine here with my family. They are a family run very friendly cafe serving freshly prepared food served with a smile. Anything from a bacon roll and omlettes to roast lunches. They have tables for sitting in and they provide a take away service. Go try ..... you won't be disappointed. They make great tasting lattes. The floor is always shining and tables and chairs are always spotless and very clean in there. Staff are always very warm and welcoming.

Breakfast was so nice and still so dam resonable price for 2024 £9 with hot drink and bloomer bread and butter. you cant even get a side from high street chains with this price. service was perfect, i like everything about this cafe thank you

Found it very strange and inhospitable to be told there was "something wrong with the kitchen" and they couldn't do "walk-ins" while seeing lots of people eating fresh roasts. On further enquiry told they could only cater for as many people as had booked. If you were able to get a roast today without having to book pray tell.

Not somewhere I would visit again. We went in for a snack and a hot drink as we were early for a funeral. The coffee and the hot chocolate was okay. Two of us had a bacon sandwich, the bacon was so overcooked it was inedible. The tuna sandwich wasnt much better, it looked and tasted very bland. It's a shame as this cafe is situated in a perfect location, but it was just the food that let it down for us.
