Lots of options for breakfast and lunch, including for veggies, not so much for vegans. I had the healthy breakfast which was tasty and very well presented. Really friendly staff. Food was tasty, cappuccino large and hot. Clean and comfy seating. Would definitely return if passing.

We have been here many times and have always had a nice meal - it was fresh and good value. Went today and was very disappointed, has changed a lot and not for the better. Don’t think we will return as we really didn’t enjoy it. - No fresh or homemade juice available. - Breakfasts used to include toast and hot drinks. They don’t include hot drinks anymore and we were served 2 slices of slightly stale toast between 4 of us. - Even the tomato ketchup is in Heinz bottles but is clearly filled with something much cheaper as it is that bright luminous red stuff. - I ordered one of their specials (a filled flatbread with feta and spinach, served with a salad, butter and honey). I received a completely different salad which contained no ham, no flat bread, had completely different ingredients. When I pointed this out the server picked it up without a word and went off to have an argument in the kitchen. Eventually a man came out to ask what my problem was. I had to walk him through the menu pointing out that the ingredients on the menu were completely different while he pulled a face and looked thunderous. At no time did anyone say sorry or our mistake, he walked off with a backwards glare. After another 10 minutes of watching them arguing in the kitchen eventually someone came out and said what do you want to eat (again glaring at me like I was the problem) and I gave up and said if you don’t have the dish on the menu let me choose something else instead. By this then everyone else I was eating with had finished eating. - I ordered smashed avocado on muffins as I figured this would be quick and easy. This was nicely presented but the avocado had been cut with so much cheap ultra processed filler (I think salad cream) that it was barely edible. For half an avocado, ruined with salad cream and smeared on one cut up muffin, they charge £9. - After serving the avocado (with a scowl and again no apology), they blanked our table. We tried for 20 mins to get the bill while every time they saw us they just turned and walked away. - In the end they took my food off the bill but the attitude was just so strange and unpleasant. I completely understand that mistakes are made but I have never felt so punished for pointing out that the meal I received was not the one I ordered! - Very weird experience, feels like they might have been taken over or changed management. What a shame.

I could only wait one week before I had to come back and have breakfast again at Melange. We were thoroughly satisfied with the fresh and deliciously tasting dishes we had chosen... Lovely music and a chilled atmosphere makes it hard to get up and leave. I could just sit here and eat all day long..... !

First visit to Melange, both of us hungry and to get out of rain. Nicely decorated restaurant with lots of space. My daughter had the ME special with flatbread and a huge salad bowl of leaves, ham, feta, croutons, tomatoes, and cucumber. Also, I wilted spinach on top which she really enjoyed! Said it was all yummy and delicious! I had the light breakfast - eggs, halloumi, tomato, olives, avocado, and smoked salmon. 1 slice of brown toast. Salmon was disappointing; not presented in nice slices (yeah I'm fussy) and a few bits grey. So, 1 star less for that and the lemonade. Asked for home made but think it was sprite?? Otherwise a nice place for lunch and lots to choose from on menu.

This was my second visit to this restaurant first time I went with friends and I was so impressed the second time I took my family. Very pleasant atmosphere, welcoming staff and the food is very well presented, tasty and good size portions will definately go back.

Lovely owner who was very welcoming but we had booked a table for 12 a few weeks in advance yet there was only the owner front of house and it appeared only one chef in the kitchen. Food was lovely as I said but slow service and the meals didn’t come out together

Stumbled upon this place when looking for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Staff were so welcoming , the owner himself served us. Food was so freshly made, and so reasonably priced. Would definitely be coming back to book this place for events. 5 stars from us !

This cafe is a little gem in Orpington! We tasted our food last Sunday morning and it was really fresh and delicious. The portions were also generous which made our breakfast a real treat! My kids were so pleased they would like to go back right away! The service was impeccable...well done to you all 💯

Unfortunately even with a nice décor and decent service.,, the food for me was a disaster.. if I have to eat a bland dry avocado mash with with no basic ingredients like salt or pepper olive oil, I could have done it for way lower price at home .. please ask your chef to go and try avocado mash at May be like Orpington GPO and upgrade his recipe ! Disappointed by the lack of cafe standard food compared to other restaurant on street .. hardly will be costing them again !! ———— In response to your response, yes I did provide the feedback to your staff, visited after Feb 2023, since I also needed to have salt pepper in the mash to make it eatable. I don’t give bad review just for sake it. That’s my experience which I conveyed and on that day your waiters did not really take action on it except giving me salt m pepper. It would have been nice to not invalidate a feedback since I am basing this based on my experience and I don’t believe in food wastage so I did eat it but it was not a brunch I would leave my house for next time. I would love to support local restaurants, and not see it go down like so many others. it would be humble of a restaurant to take a feedback and act on it so that you can make loyal customers ! As I said you have great setup just need the food to match and not be just another be café on high street! I wish you all success

Had breakfast this morning in this beautiful restaurant. We were greeted warmly & served with care. Our food was delicious & the coffee was very good. If you want quality at an affordable price then this is your place.

Enjoyed my meal. But beware their online menu! The price of my Chargrilled Chicken was twice the online menu price - even though the online menu says copyright 2023 (it is August 2023). And many online menu dishes have been dropped.

Myself & four friends enjoyed a very pleasant lunch at Melange. The food was good & the owner was very attentive, nothing was too much trouble.

We are very regular customers and love this restaurant's food and friendly staff. Their food is always excellent, well presented and reasonably priced. However, they have now introduced a new menu and pricing structure. What was a full Melange together with a Set 4 breakfast costing £17.10 now costs £22.40 an increase of 31%. There can only be one outcome for such exorbitant overpricing, we, along with many others will vote with our feet and eat elsewhere.

Great find for breakfast, good food, set breakfast comes with bread and coffee, and at a reasonable price, I had a cappuccino at no extra cost. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. A must try for breakfast...

My wife and I decided on Melange for a late breakfast today, and we were not disappointed. Great service from the attentive owner and lovely food , thought I would try something different to the normal fry up and had the "Light breakfast" of Salmon ,poached eggs, Advocado and Halloumi, very tasty ,as was the wife's scrambled eggs and Salmon. Will definitely visit again !

We went there today for lunch with my partner it was his first time out in a wheelchair. They were very accommodating to make sure we were very comfortable. It is wheelchair friendly & a wheelchair accessible toilet. The food was lovely lamb chops, chicken shish & burgers. Very good value for money & great service. Will definitely be going back. Dropped by with my kids for lunch and it was a great experience. The service was brilliant and the owner is friendly and welcoming. The food was good. I had the lamb chops and got the chicken nuggets for the kids. Their prices are well suited and the atmosphere is relaxed. Will definitely be back.

We came out for a furniture hunt in Orpington from London and got a bit hungry. We initially were looking to go to an Italian restaurant nearby but it was closed. In an “I guess” way, we entered Melange instead. Best coincidence ever! The food was fantastic. The employees were super friendly. And I can’t emphasize enough the food was fantastic. They do simple, comfort dishes right! Hopefully they come out to London one day.

The best place I’ve been in a while, loved the food, service and the atmosphere. I will surely come back.

Nearly walked past the place as no real menu on display to see from the street. Hopefully they sort that. Glad I went in as the food was absolutely top notch. Had the Melange breakfast and really enjoyed it. Good quality produce and excellently cooked. Nice service and staff too.

My 2nd visit in 5 days,first for brunch which was excellent then today for lunch which was even better,can not fault a thing,food,service,price all brilliant,see you for a 3rd visit.

Fantastic little find. Descended on this gem with a double buggy and 4 hot and hangry children ranging from 1 to 14 years old. Staff were friendly, food was really yummy, and great prices. All 5 of us were fed and had sufficient drinks on £37! Service is not included on the bill so make sure to bring some change. Staff definitely deserve it!

Lovely place. Not too big on the inside, probably can sit 30-40 people. They have a toilet and would suit those who need special accessibility options. Good food. There's a bar for drinks. Prices look fair.

Had poached eggs on toast for breakfast and eggs were lovely and runny. Coffee good too, they have skimmed milk which is a bonus. Staff very friendly.

This cafe is superb. Very fresh food beautifully cooked & presented. Large mugs of tea. I had the light breakfast which had avocado, smoked salmon halloumi olives & poached eggs with rocket & tomatoes. Toast & tea included. Delicious & healthy. Excellent service & atmosphere. Will be back to try the cocktails!!

Food great, Very reasonably priced. The only reason I'm giving a 4 instead of a 5 is the bill. It's an itemised bill which appears on the face of it wrong. 1 extra coffee on the bill 2 glasses of wine and one of the meals lumped together showing 3 MISC with that total wrong. BUT the main total was correct.All Very Confusing.

Had a 2 lovely meals today . Nice place excellent food and very nice customer service from Natalie and the chef. My husband had scampi and I had the chicken wrap. Delicious!

Visited today with partner and 2 daughter's. In and out within an hour even though only one waitress who apologised several times for being slow. She did a great job considering the amount of people she had to serve. Food was very tasty and reasonably priced.

Our first choice was closed so literally just popped in, so very glad that we did. An impressive menu of freshly cooked food to order. Wonderful service. Outside eating in beautiful weather. Healthy option was an absolute delight. Omelette was fantastic too. Beautiful, airy, friendly, welcoming atmosphere and amazing value for money! Service 💯 % too.

My wife and I had popped in here a couple of times for a quick coffee but this was the first time we had eaten here. And what a delight! Service was positively superb, our waitress was so cheerful and attentive! I went for a set breakfast and my wife had the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. There was certainly no shortage of food on our plates and presentation was excellent! Highly recommended!

My wife is a regular here, but went there for Brunch last week. Services was impeccable. Presentation of the meal was spot on. really quick & efficient services, very friendly atmosphere. Definitely a better experience and slightly smarter the other Cafés in Orpington. Highly Recommend Melange

Grandparents have just been to this place and loved it.

Visited on a saturday lunch time, not busy but food was lovely, I had mushroom omelette which came with plenty of chips n salad for around £6. Would recommend

We had a cappuccino, flat white and a slice of carrot cake. The cake was served on a plate that had been drizzled with a sauce. It was extremely moist and delicious. The two coffees were served in large cups (twice the size of a standard Costa) and again were very good. The coffee used was very pleasant with no bitterness. All this for £7 which was extremely good value and I can't wait until my next visit.

Great cup of coffee makes me come back to Melange.. the ambiance makes me feel like being at home...so relaxing...staff are so friendly and very accommodating!

This is a really nice coffee shop and patisserie on Orpington High Street. Inside and outside seating available (a nice detail - blankets for outside seating if it is chilly). Inside, the décor is modern, clean and comfortable, with a mix of tables and sofas to sit at. The staff are friendly, efficient and attentive. There is also a nice selection of cakes and pastries. We just had a coffee on this visit which was promptly brought to us and superbly presented - each cappuccino served on a small tray with a biscotti and a glass of water. And,a great taste too. Melange is also licensed, so you may wish to visit for, perhaps, a glass of wine, listen to the relaxing music and chill out.
