Melad Tandoori in Tonbridge and Malling

Food arrived over an hour late, and order was incomplete.

Just ordered a takeaway from this place and what a mistake! I ordered tandoori mixed grill which was dry and flavourless pilau rice with a madras sauce, they delivered me a masala sauce which was not very nice at all so sweet and the darkest of red in colour I ended up chucking it in the bin, never again

I have ordered takeaway for delivery twice now . I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt because the food is supposed to be good. The food was cold on delivery and they sent paneer instead of salmon the puri was like crackers- dry and tasteless. Food is expensive for take away and the time took over an hour to be delivered, very disappointing will not be ordering again.

Food was early, hot, very tasty.

Excellent experience every time.. Food is fantastic, service excellent and when taking away you can have a sneeky beer whilst waiting. Perfect!... bit pricey though especially drinks but worth it.

I would not use this place again . It was my birthday meal and really wanted Indian meal… not only did come late half meal missing mine was a mistake but this was due to miss reading on difficult to order menu. Finally after another 45 min we get rest of order.. no apologies and got sen TWO popadoms as compensation, so my birthday meal was disaster . Dont order on line as this is not first time.. I would not use this again

We were extremely disappointed with the food. The Tikka lamb chops were like eating someone’s shoe with spice on it. The Rogan Josh was overloaded with tomatoes and the curry was lacking curry, it was not even a decent stew. The worst of all was the charge of drinks, 2 double Jamesons were £28 (no mix), two single gin and tonics £17. What a rip off. One month ago we paid 30% less than we paid tonight on both food and drinks. I would not go there again.

Lovely tandoori. The best in the area. Polite and friendly staff and the food is amazing. Went for valentine's day and they had even decorated the tables. So lovely. Good value for money too.

Food, when it arrived was nice, had to reheat as was 30/45 mins late. 2nd time this has happened, Not too impressed as ordered at 6 for 7.15-7.30 delivery .

Such a disappointment! I ordered a take away meal for birthday as I have had n operation on my leg me therefore limited to take away food. I ordered the special chicken biriani which arrived without the vegetable curry accompaniment, and the chicken pieces were small and overcooked ( dry and hard!) I called them to advise of the missing veg curry and that the chicken was overcooked and whilst I received an apology no alternative was offered so I had to ask for a replacement! Upon receiving a fresh biriani with veg curry I am saddened to report the chicken again was very small pieces and overcooked. Such a disappointment especially having gave feedback on my call which tells me that the quality is just not there. My birthday meal was such a disappointment….. thank goodness for poppadums

We had takeaway so can't comment on atmosphere Order arrived earlier than expected but half was missing. After calling had to wait another 30 for remainder of order. Delivery driver was very apologetic even though it wasnt his fault, no extras or discount given for inconvenience Food was lukewarm (even the second delivery) and meat in dishes was very sparse Definitely better places locally

Went on a Wednesday Night and all staff were so accommodating and welcoming. Food was lovely and very timely. Definitely would recommend. Lovely refurbished dining area!

Totally unhappy with the service 2 hours iv had to wait for food, someone even called me to ask of I had received my order when I said no they advised it be there ASAP another 40 minutes later still not here, when I called all they done was excuses, no acceptable

Food took 1.5 hours to get to us. Once it arrived it was cold, also no popadoms or onion bajhis which we ordered and paid for. The chicken tikka dansak was very tomatoey, no spice or flavour. Won’t be eating from here again.

Ordered tonight arrived in 25 minutes fantastic food

First time tried this kind of restaurant and I’m very impressed! I’ve korma and it’s my fav now. Very coconut and creamy, coconut rice also amazing and sweet peshwari naan great too . Onion bahaji little oily and heavy but very tasty to try. Dansak was spicy but not too much when I mixed it with korma. I don’t like coriander and I was worry that it’s gonna be everywhere but it wasn’t. But Online prices was little higher than the one I’ve had in my leaflet, which someone left at my doorstep few days ago.

What a shame used to be a great local delivery curry house but now no longer responded to phones or very late deliveries. Won’t be using again, was thinking of going to the restaurant but won’t bother now . Very sad

We have been using the Melad Tandoori for a number of years and can honestly say we have never had a bad experience. Its delivered in time, always hot, drivers are pleasant, and the food is delicious - i've never had a missing item or incorrect order either. Really easy to order online as well

Takeaway at Aylesford station. Brilliant

Unfortunately tonight we ordered a takeaway it was at 4pm to be delivered by 5.30. I have a nut allergy but regardless with or without a nut allergy I was expecting my meal to be cooked fresh this was not the case. The chicken was so dry and chewy it was not a nice experience 😕 had takeaways from here before that were ok so not too sure what happened tonight as it wasn't exactly like rushtime but even then its not an excuse

Ordered takeaway to be picked up. Waited one and a half hours for a 35 minute order. Been told they can't cope with the extra workload from opening another premises and very, very busy, which is great for them, but if that's the case tell customers the wait is prolonged, hire more staff or manage more efficiently.

Nice enough food, but they will forget something from order 40 percent of time and never any freebies or discount even by way of apology. Stressful dinner most weekends. We always tip drivers. But order from this shambles, never again. Awful service do not waste your time or money.

My wife and I have had take away from here for the past 8 years, and it's always been fantastic. This evening's meal was terrible (garlic mushrooms watery, onion bhaji's excessively oily, lamb meat in my main dish extremely dry and tough, and the saag paneer tasteless). When I called to ask if they had new chefs in the last month or two (since we last ordered), I was told No. Thanks. Bye... didn't even care why I was calling to ask! Could be a one off, but seems strange that every dish would be terrible!

Only ordered once a few days ago, but have ordered again tonight! Food was the best in the Maidstone /Aylesford area that we have found. This will now be our regular. *****

Wow wow wow. We had a delivery from Melad tonight while we watched coronation concert. There were 6 of us and we all thoroughly enjoyed our selections of food. Wow. It was delivered to our home in Medway hot and tasty 15 minutes before they said. We also benefited from an extra discount as wife was NHS worker. Definitely wow.

Used to love this place but seems not as good as it used to be, also had to wait 30mins for food after being told time for pick up so not great as I expect it to be ready or a short wait.

Ordered online vindaloo, 2 Kormas and a few other bits. Just finished eating and couldn't recommend highly enough. 1st time ordering will order again. Reasonable price, great easy online, even selecting time slot. Driver was really pleasant. We live quite a distance and food was still warm, I microwaved it as I like it piping hot but that's my own preference. Order, you won't regret.

Had a decent chicken korai, and lovely kema narn. Respectable price. The poppadums were atrocious, get better out of a packet at Sainsbury's.

No honesty, a business that lacks integrity. Since it was 10 mins till next train At 6pm tried to order some samosa's. I was assured it 'will only take a couple of minutes' leaving me with enough time to get my train. It's nearly a fiver for 2 samosa's - I was assured these were big handmade ones, I expected pyramid shaped samosa's. Guess what samosa's were small, maybe they are hand made but not too different to some I've had from Iceland and I missed my train. I'm sure he knew I was gonna miss my train if I did business with him but lacked the honesty to admit it. In hindsight if I'd read the reviews I would have known not to have engaged with these. Only positive Is the mint sauce was delicious.

So happy to have finally found a good Indian after recently moving to the area. We tried all the local places, but they were all awful, until we found Melad. Food is always amazing, piping hot and lovely friendly drivers.

We had a leaflet through our door and gave it a go, we were very impressed, quick delivery and food was very nice will definitely be coming back.

Sadly food still hadn't arrived an hour and a half after ordering so phoned and basically it hadn't been cooked so I offered to collect and was told ten minutes. Twenty minutes waiting for food when I arrived to collect. Finally got food just before 9. Not even so much of an apology. Disappointed

We have used this Indian since moving to the area and have a takeaway at least once a month of which has always good quality and service , tonight’s meal was awful we placed the order and paid by card at 7 pm being told the meal would be an hour ,two hours later still no meal so we phoned again to be given lots of excuses , then when our meal finally turned up it was cold and poor quality I ordered butter chicken and got what I would deem a creamy tikka masala my partner asked for a spicy curry but all they did was add chilli to a vindaloo, it’s really disappointed us

Very nice unfortunately I turned up early put them in a bit of a panic. Food was lovely far to much though could not eat it all.

Ordered three times and each time we received fantastic Indian food, delivered by a super-friendly driver shortly before or at the exact scheduled time. All meals are of high quality and taste amazing! Totally addicted to the Lamb Naga! Hands down the best Indian food we tried in the Medway region so far.

The best tandoori take away we have had, not to dry lots off taste in every dish good portions. Definitely order again

Having heard many good reviews about this place eventually decided to give it a go and was a little underwhelmed. The online order was booked in advance for 7.30-7.45 delivery for a reason. When the doorbell rang at 6.10 it was a bit of a surprise but what can you do at that point? 🤷🏼‍♂️ Food had good flavour but could have been warmer. Popadoms were already on the ‘soft turn’ which usually takes a few hours. Worth the try, but won’t go back

Easy to order online, decent-speed, contact-free delivery. The portion sizes we got from here were decently generous, and the food is amazing. Possibly the best Indian takeaway in the Maidstone area, and it's cool to see one located next to a station building. Would definitely recommend 👌

Cant fault the food, was absolutely delicious, fresh tasting and not greasy which you can sometimes find from some Indian takeaways. Found ordering on the website a bit clunky when picking delivery time wouldn't let me pick anytime sooner then 2 hours maybe an ASAP option would be better then picking specific time, after ringing them they kindly agreed would be within an hour. My only slight dissapointment which I've never had before from an Indian (maybe I've just been lucky) is despite spending over £40 they didn't send any free poppadoms. (I didn't order any as normally always get them free from other local Indian takeaway) the food alone was excellent though and would be 5 stars but the whole experience was 4. Would still use again though!

Ordering over the phone was easy. Comparing this to Sholay Spice, the Madras was tastier, chicken a bit drier though and sauce a bit oily. Naans were nicer but much bigger at Sholay Spice. Delivery from Melad has been very polite each time and always delivered on time. What would I choose? Oil can be easily removed from a curry by spooning it off. Madras was much nicer at Melad but the naans at Sholay are huge in comparison. Its swings and roundabouts. Melad for me would win overall but wish their naan breads were bigger. It's a close call though. If you're ordering on a Monday meal deal then Sholay Spice wins hands down for value for money (easily enough for 2 people) Update...ordered another couple of currys tonight. They were delicious and not oily at all. To be honest, one of the best madras I've ever had. Delivery was quick and ordering on their site in easy. Two downsides- the chicken was very dry and chewy and the naan breads were tiny compared to other takeaways. It's a shame because those 2 things being rectified would make it unbeatable.

Well I have be waiting to write a review about this Curry this evening. That was on time, easy to order online, perfect Food, and polite staff. This Indian food is made with love, it is absolutely delicious. A real hidden gem by the aylesford train station. Highly recommend.The chicken jalfrezi masala and the Salmon tikka SHASLIK is one of the best I have had, the onion bhaji’s were crispy and the spinach and mushroom bhaji I ordered were as delicious! I’m so pleased you have got it right and Melad Tandoori, please keep up the good work.

Was ok, driver says they didn’t deliver to me when it clearly says on the website they do 🤷‍♂️ Curry was nice, chips well over cooked and soft chewy poppadoms hence the low score..

Moved around the corner from the Melad at the end of 2019, we've ordered more then a few times now and they always impress. Foods always fresh and piping hot on arrival. I'm a lover of hot dishes but if you like something more mild you've got to try the mango chicken here.

First time order. Beautiful!! Delivery was hot the chap was friendly. The food was the nicest i have had for a long time. Fresh and tasty. Chicken wasn't dry. Veg was fresh. Looking forward to using again

We usually have a curry on New Year's eve, either from Anamika in Gillingham or this one in Aylesford. Neither disappoints! Last night it was Melad, and we both thoroughly enjoyed the quality food. I sometimes feel that a good test of a curry house is their Bombay potato and onion bhaji. Both were utterly scrumptious (to say nothing of my chicken dansak). Good, fast service and friendly staff. Absolutely disgusted by the customer service in this place. I order from here regularly and have always enjoyed their food, however after ordering a few days ago, our food arrived freezing cold. The delivery driver turned up and complained that we didn't tell that about a road closure we had no knowledge about, told us that we were lying about knowing and wanted to up the price from £31 to £40. We declined and rejected the food and he eagerly came back saying we could have it for the agreed price. We took and paid for the food, which as above I said was freezing cold. We decided to ring up and complain and the response we got was extremely rude, full of excuses and unwilling to even let us speak as they were adamant to tell us over and over again that it wasn't their fault, it was in fact ours. Extremely disappointed.

Paid for 2 mango chutney, only got one but, apart from that, the meal was top notch. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you Melad.

Food is absolutely delicious. A real hidden gem by the aylesford train station. Highly recommend.The biryani and paratha is one of the best I have.The other things I ordered were as delicious!

Once was good but now they've over priced themselves. The last few visits have seen smaller portions, bigger prices and less tasty food.

Ordered this evening the food was just awful! The onion barjis tasted like it had paste that hadn't been cooked, the Samosas were soggy inside, my chicken tikka masala sauce was so watery and didn't taste like chicken tikka masala atall, l the chicken pacora was so salty , not only have they put there prices up but the food was horrific I'll never been ordering from these people again.

I have loved the Indian food and people here since I was 7 years old, when it opened.

Such a shame! Myself and my wife have been going to the Melad for years and have always found it to be above average but today's meal was below par and what made it worse was the price. The takeaway restuarant have decided to increase their prices by 15 to 20% on virtually everything. We usually take advantage of the offer; 2 starters, 2 main dishes, 1 rice, 1 naan and one side dish for £19.90 which we found was fairly reasonable but today that same offer cost us £22.90 a 15% increase. Effectively it was more than that as we noticed the portion sizes of the tikka mix kebab starter were far smaller. My Madras was very watery and in order to continue eating it I had to get up half way through return to the kitchen and drain half a mug full of oilly watery liquid from my plate because my food was literally swimming in it. In short we have decided not to return, such a shame as we had been pleased fairly consistently for such a long time.
