So glad we have Mela here in Stafford . Simply great food , service and atmosphere. The length of time it has been established is says it all .

Great service, food delicious 😋 lots of food great price . Not sitting into on other customers. Staff very friendly, atmosphere nice . Lots of different dishes to choose from and flavours beautiful.

Back to our absolute favourite eatery which tonight was extremely busy. As always a very warm welcome, shown to our table and left with menus to decide this evening choices. We decided on Lamb Masaman and Salmon Takari, a new choice on the menu and absolutely delicious. As always the team were friendly and professional, a real credit to this fantastic business ... Thank you all.

Had a meal with friends here. Food and service was excellent. Food was very reasonably priced and you can take your own alcoholic drinks which was great. Will definitely return soon.

Once again enjoyed a superb meal. The team are brilliant and always happy to guide through menu. The restaurant is spotless and choice of food is excellent.

There were 12 in the group and Adu and his team worked tirelessly to ensure we all had a great time. The food and service were excellent and we would all be happy to return to the Mela Lounge in the future. Would totally recommend.

I’ve tried hundreds of takeaways in my 70 years but I had curry from here a couple of weeks ago and I can honestly say I’m so glad I moved to Stafford this was a real proper curry with a remarkable tasty sides and naans we were so impressed we have booked Christmas and can’t wait to dine in next week everyone is friendly and can’t do enough for you if the restaurant service is the same I’ve found my new go to Indian.

A last minute decision but most definitely the right one. Fantastic meal as always and excellent service despite large parties and a full restaurant. We'll done to Abu and his fantastic team. Thank you all.

Went with friends whom have enjoyed Mela Lounge for years even Christmas. Staff were very friendly & nothing was to much trouble ...chef helped change my meal choice to suit me. Food was excellent evening was wonderful. Will revisit next time n Stafford. Thank you Mela Lounge

Just thrown away £20 worth of takeaway whilst it was still hot! Absolutely tasteless food. Saag paneer tasted like boiled spinach.. chewy wet tandoori roti.. paneer starter was supposed to be tossed in coriander and spinach … tasteless! Wow don’t waste your money here..

I have to be careful and objective when reviewing Indian ,Pakistani and Bangladeshi restaurants as i have had many experience's over there and in the uk and i cook them very often , unfortunately the food that was presented here was bland with very little authenticity to any of the country 's cuisine

We have been eating at Mela for a number of years and on a regular basis and we have yet to be disappointed. During lockdown Mela offered takeaways for which we made the most of and the food was exemplary. Every member of staff makes us feel welcome and Abu is absolutely the most charming person who ensures that everyone is welcome. Tonight, 30th March, we went for my birthday and … surprise surprise … we had a beautiful meal. The starter that was the equivalent to an Indian Scotch egg that my husband had was delicious and he followed this with the Ginger Lamb Sizzler. I had Amritsari fish followed by the sea bass with spinach and mushroom, a beautiful fusion. We very often invite friends to join us and all have enjoyed. If anyone ever suggest trying somewhere else we ask them to compare to Mela … we're staying1

Visit the mela lounge quite often, food is always very nice, wine reasonably priced and most of the staff always friendly, although the older gentleman who works there is not friendly at all and can makes you feel a little uncomfortable.On our last visit, we didn’t eat everything and decided to take the rest home, there was quite a lot left over but they crammed both mine and my husband’s food into one container! I’m a vegetarian, he’s not, so my vegetarian dish and his chicken dish including 2 different rices were all mixed together in one container.Don’t think we will return, there are lots of restaurants in the area of equal quality and value.

Never felt so ripped off for valentines day. I received an email asking to book for valentines. They even had posters up reflecring this. So I booked online and specified in the comments it was for valentines as we went on the Sunday 13th due to work. After entering there was nothing corresponding to valentines day, so we spoke to the waiter and asked what they were doing for valentines and he said they wasn't doing anything different, same Menu etc... There was zero ambience, no effort made whatsoever. The food was ok. We just had a main. This is the second time we've been let down and will not be returning. After receiving the bill they had over charged us. This place used to be amazing. They have totally lost it. We always make a special effort for valentines and this experience was a complete disappointment. Would not recommend.

My second time eating in Mela Lounge, and the food was outstanding yet again. Waiters always willing to offer recommendations if you fancy trying something different. Would recommend to anyone.

I have ordered a take away from this place about 4 times and will never go anywhere else now, the service and food is always superb, tasty, beautifully cooked food, you might have to wait a little longer than other restaurant's but at least you know its freshly cooked and always arrives in the estimated time and well worth the wait, you wont be disappointed..

I ordered a takeaway to be delivered yesterday and was given a timeslot of 6.25pm at 6.30pm I had a text to say my order was cancelled. No notice or explanation - shockingly poor!

Superb takeaway, service super quick & food was amazing. We ordered on their website & we were sent a text message to say the food would arrive in 70 minutes, in about 30 minutes we had food delivered which was piping hot. Food was gorgeous, full on flavour & definitely recommend ordering Spicy Chips. Service in both restaurant & takeaway is spot on. Highly recommend here for a night out or takeaway.

After being to a different curry house last week and having the worst curry I’ve ever tasted in my life ( well it didn’t even taste of anything) I was glad to be back at the mela lounge tonight. My chicken Rogan josh was a taste sensation! Very friendly staff that are courteous and up for a conversation but not always around hanging over you which can be annoying at some restaurants you visit. The food was quick to arrive which is always great. Very Covid safe with staff wearing visors if they had to get close. Customers wearing masks until they’re sat at their tables Can’t wait to return! Great idea doing the 50% off too which is appreciated after what would have been a rough year for the restaurant

Just had our first meal out since October 2020. Visited with friends and had a fabulous evening!!! Many thanks to Abu and his staff, for such a spcial night!!! Very courteous and attentive service, and wonderful food. VERY covid safe. Can highly recommend.

Used for the first time and will definitely not be using again. Ordered delivery at 18.15, told delivery would be 19.50, rang at 20.15, got told would be 15 minutes, understandable as it’s nye, rang at 21.00 to be told it went out to be 30 minutes earlier but they don’t know where it is and driver not answering the phone. Only gave 1 rating as no option for a zero rating. Absolutely shocking.

Had a fantastic take away tonight. Food was hot , fresh and tasty. I had a madras , my partner had a korma both delicious. Poppadoms were light , crunchy and warm ....gorgeous, garlic and coriander naan superb. Thank you.

Great food good service nice restaurants.From lots of restaurants in Stafford was really glad we chose this one. Food was of extremely high quality. Lots of vegetarian dishes. My wife and I ordered off the set menu deal. I think it was £14.99 ahead. Which consisted of a starter, main, any nan bread or any rice. And coffee. We both had the mixed starter which was very nice. I Fancied a vegetarian dish that wasn’t on the deal but on the main menu and they was happy enough to cook me this instead. It was very nice with lots of fresh vegetables and lots of Little chilies. My wife had a chicken curry can’t remember which one which was also very tasty. The peshwari naan had honey on top of it which was a very nice Touch. My son had a chickentikka which he said tasted different to what he had had before but my wife said it was very nice. We shared a good portion of rice between us. The restaurant was clean and social distanced well. There was hand sanitiser when you went into the restaurant and next to the book they asked you to sign for track and trace. Lots of vegetarian dishes on the menu. I told the staff I would give them a five star review and they gave me their names. Sorry I can’t remember your names.

We been ordering for over 5 years, we did try other places in stafford but always went back to Mela lounge .. we just know we get an amazing dish all the time.

We took our young family to this restraunt for an evening meal whilst staying in the town. It was a real find. Set in the basement, the ambience was romantic, cosy but really relaxed. We felt very comfortable dining with our two young children.The service was fantastic. The owner was especially welcoming. We talked about his history living in Wales and he even treated the kids to ice creams at the end of the meal.We had some beautiful curry's. The whole meal was excellent quality, very affordable and we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening from start to finish. We would definitely recommend and we will be returning next time we are passing through. Have a meal here, you won't be disappointed.

Myself & my husband visited on Saturday 4th July for our wedding anniversary & we couldn’t have wished for a better way to celebrate. On our arrival the restaurant have got a hand sanitiser for you to use if you wish & upon entering the restaurant it was straight away evident they have removed some of the tables to allow for social distancing & there is plenty of room. No need to worry about the space, Mela Lounge have made sure all their customers will feel comfortable & safe & we did. Fantastic service & fabulous food, loved every minute of it! Food is always super tasty & this visit was no different. I could recommend the whole menu! Portion sizes are spot on. After the amazing meal we were handed a hot towel each & then whilst leaving the restaurant again you could use the hand sanitiser if you wished. Can’t wait to go back! Thank you Mela for an amazing anniversary!

This is a cut above the usual curry restaurant. Having eaten many curries around the Stafford and Wolverhampton area, I was expecting more or less of the same - good if uninspired. So the standard of cooking here was an unexpected pleasure. The sauces tasted of fresh ingredients, each singing through loud and clear. Nothing I tasted gave the impression of sitting overnight in a sauce base. The only slight disappointment was the biryani but I think that was probably in contrast to the other dishes. One for my destination list, highly recommended.

Can't fault the food. Had 2 set meals 1 for me 1 for the wife.The starters were lovely and we both had a pappadom each.The mains were both lamb mine was more spicy and hotter than my wife's but really tasty. My wife couldn't eat all hers and they let her take the rest away. Great staff let you take your time well done I'm impressed

Best food i have had in a long time, the staff are brilliant and very polite and helpful. The food is just wonderful, cooked to perfection and simply wonderful, they also have a great selection on the menu for those who like something different when they go for a meal. Prices are very reasonable and excellent value for money.Cant wait to return, keep up the good work.

Ten of us visited here, not been here since it was a bar. Lovely place, good service and great food. A little cramped as so many tables but all in all a lovely and highly recommend

So had a really nice birthday meal with our friends (after waiting around 75minutes between starters and mains) and went to the toilets and walking back (there are no signs saying kitchen door swings open on to the corridor that the customers have to walk back from the toilets) a member of staff carrying hot curries opened the door straight into me spilling hot curry all over my hand scalding it. The staff advised us to refer to the warning on the door (there is not one) and gave little in the way of an apology / compensation for this. Instead opting to argue that this was my fault. Poor customer service unfortunately after the nice food albeit the long wait.

First time we have been to Mela Lounge! Good atmosphere, good service and excellent food. I followed the managers recommendation for one of the lamb dishes and wasn't disappointed. The lamb was really tender and strength perfect. My partner really enjoyed her chicken dish also. We will definitely be returning, highly recommend!!

I can't remember the last time we visited the Mela Lounge or why we have not been for a long time but we will certainly be visiting again soon. 7 of us went for a meal and everything was fantastic. Service and food was brilliant.My husband is a veggie and he asked for something not on menu, his meal was so tasty.A great meal....thank you.

Indian is my favourite food so it's very rare I find a restaurant that has me making the effort to write up a positive review about them. I've had countless good Indian food but this place has to be the best in Stafford. The staff were very polite and welcoming but not too over whelming, which I like.I came here with my girlfriend but I would like to visit again with friends and family because I know they'd love it here.Having a takeaway can be expensive if you are solo, as the minimum order is £15. But you get what you pay for. Dining in doesn't cost you much more than most other restaurants and the quality here is far better.5 out of 5 for me.

We were visiting friends in Stafford and asked for recommendations for a good Indian restaurant.The food was excellent with some unusual dishes togetherwith more traditional ones. The prices are very reasonable.The atmosphere is very buzzy, in a good way. You get the impression that everyone is enjoying themselves.

This is my favourite place to eat in Stafford. The staff are always friendly and very helpful. If you ask them for an Indian dish that isn't on the menu they will do their best to make it for you although there is already an amazing choice to suffice for any palate. Service is smooth - not rushed or left waiting and the atmosphere is relaxing and chilled. You are treated like a friend and guest who welcome you in.

Went to Mela Lounge Saturday 5th October, Abu the owner recommend our absolutely amazing meal for the 3 of us from what will be the new menu very shortly. Fantastic food, great friendly service, lovely evening, thank you to all the staff & of course the Chef. Xxx

It's been a while but thankfully returned to the Mela Lounge after a few years. Great atmosphere in this "cellar" restaurant. A bit chaotic in a good way and plenty of happy patrons enjoying delicious food. Highlight was a spicy Lamb Shatkora for anyone who likes a bit of flavour and the baltis for the less adventurous washed down with large bottles of chilled Cobra! Highly recommend!

Had a table booked for 4 people on Saturday. Arrived and were shown straight to our table, drinks ordered and left to peruse the menu. Food arrived piping hot and was delicious. Excellent, food, service and value for money..we will be back!

We booked a table for early dinner with family - five of us in total. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was clean and inviting. We munched on popadoms and didn't have starters. I had a Chicken tikka masala and we shared breads and rice. My husband had chicken shaslick bhuna balti. We all thought the food was nicely presented, fresh, and tasted delicious. We have eaten here on numerous occasions and have always been very happy.

First time at this very nice Indian restaurant in Stafford, table settings clean and crisp, pleasing to walk down the steps from the road into what I would describe as an intimate atmosphere with good use of mirror décor.

One thing that really annoys me is when a restaurant give complimentary drinks only to regular customers, my £100 is as good as anyone else’s. I will be taking my business to places where they treat everyone equally.

The menu is not a typical Indian restaurant. There is an awful lot of chicken on the menu and very little other choice of other meat and poor choice for vegetarians. The food is very tasty and not expensive.

Visited here at 6pm on a Sunday on the way back from a weekend away. The restaurant looked clean and was nicely decorated.

We have eaten here a few times and always enjoyed it. We really like the range of meat and vegetarian main courses and range of starters (most of which are very large and so my wife and I share - try the onion bhaji's). The restaurant is nicely presented and the staff are always very helpful and friendly. The food is excellent and very good value. We will definitely visit again and this is our favourite place in the area.

This Restaurant is the very best Indian Restaurant I have ever had the pleasure to visit and if you ever visit Stafford you really must treat your pallet, the food is Exquisite the atmosphere is a treat , and the staff are are delight.

The food is always to a High standard the staff are friendly and always willing to offer different dishes off the Menu the take away is superb no oily residue when you open the boxes

I normally recommend this place to people however my last expirence in the resturant and 2 take aways have not been great. My main frustration is the cheesy nann THERES ALMOST NO CHEESE.

Had a takeaway from here and I’m sorry to say it was gopping. Had chicken tikka masala and it tasted very sweet like it had a half a pound of sugar tipped not it. Plus the chicken pieces looked like they had been bitten into which makes me think they were left overs from other people plates. Yuk yuk yuk.. avoid at all costs

This is hands down the best Indian I’ve been to, from welcome through to leaving in terms of custom, but the food was spectacular! Couldn’t recommend enough! Fully enjoyed! Would go again!

We absolutely love this place. The new menu is gorgeous - each dish is totally unique. Goan chicken is delicately flavoured with coconut and my husband had the speciality dish of lamb shatkora which was simply 'melt in the mouth'. All you could want in a restaurant. Great food, great service. The food is generically 'Asian' so if you are looking for meat and two veg it isn't for you. The owners and chef clearly have a vision of what the subtleties of this cuisine...

Mela is my favourite Indian restaurant to dine in, in Stafford. Whether the group booking is small or large the service is always excellent. The last time I ate at Mela there were 16 of us, the table was ready for us and looked lovely....

Our first visit to Stafford - lovely town with some beautiful buildings and parks - and we came across the Mela Lounge and thought we'd give it a try. The prawn saagwalli and the lamb kuri were fabulous. Delicate flavours and the lamb was top quality and cooked to perfection. The service was excellent - very warm and friendly. Looking forward to another visit.

Ordered delivery on Saturday night. Website said 59 mins delivery, but it came in approx 30 mins! Food was still hot, very tasty, not oily ,Iike a lot of deliveries. Driver was smartly dressed and polite.

This Indian is the best in Stafford. AJ, Mabs, Cha and all the other staff are so friendly and attentive. Nothing is too much trouble. Had my husband's birthday meal there last night and it was amazing.

Hi guys as you can see im not generally one to leave reviews and feedbacks on trip adviser. A couple of weeks ago i went with my best friend and her family to her 40th at the mela lounge on a sunday. It was my first time visiting as i wasn't even aware of the restaurant if im totally honest. The place was nice yet had a cosy feel to it (probably the lighting)! Anyway i wanted something nice and full of flavour so mabz (hope i spelt it correctly) recommended me a few of there most popular dishes. I ended up going with the lamb shatkora because he sold it to me for the way he'd described it. I like my food with abit of a kick to it so i had it slightly hot and my god was it amazing (bless the boy) but he got it absolutely right. My friend and her family loved there dishes the food came out quick considering they were busy (for a sunday anyway) the food was piping hot and on point. I must say this is by far my favourite, they looked after us so well. Aj (hope I've got his name correct) looked after us very well too. He offered us complimentary drinks at ths end of our meal which i thought was very nice. Overall the time there was very nice, no complaints what so ever. I will definitely be recommending friends and family. Thank you very much mela lounge and the brilliant team.

Right where do i begin.. i am temporarily based in stafford for business and i visit mela lounge on a weekly basis. I must admit on my first visit i was a little unsure as it is just a single door and down the stairs to find the restaurant. But upon arrival i was pleasantly greeted by the staff who are all very well mannered and friendly. Despite being on a lower floor overall the deco is to a good standard and well maintained. Now the food is like no other indian that i have had in my 12 years of business trips. They can cater to exactly what you are looking for but having eaten off the menu there are some great dishes under the mela specialties. Honestly guys i could keep going on but once you have experienced it for yourself only then you can relate to what i am saying. Best thing is that the food has always been consistent, packed with flavour and piping hot just how i like it! Its always nice to be able to visit a restaurant which have these outstanding qualities unfortunately there just isn't enough of them but by far this is my absolute best. So thank you to all the guys from mela for making it such a pleasant experience for me. Keep up the hard work!

I'm really glad my fiancé introduced me to a Indian cuisine and this particularly place in Stafford. Cozy with friendly staff and very high standards of cleanliness. I ordered Lamb Shatkora Kari... it's was heaven. The lamb is so tender and melting words can't describe . The onion bhaji and Nan bread were delicious. Absolutely fell in love with this place. Well we have just eaten at Mela Lounge Stafford each time we go we are never disappointed.And tonight we would both go as far to say probably the best meal we have eaten by far.This is by far the best in the area.We Would definatly recommend the Tandoori King Prawn tawa which is not on the menu so you should ask for it,excellent welcoming staff and service,if you ever visit the area it's a must to visit this high class restaurant.

Went here on a Friday night with the other half. Busy but still great service and amazing nans and rice. All in all a great choice for a curry in Stafford. Now in my top 3 curry restaurants in Stafford - up there with Nishads and Narvana

A great choice of indian food with an easy to read menu.Staff were attentive and always ensured your glasses were topped up (is this good or bad!) always have had a good time in this restaurant with great food and company.No afterburn the following day so a winner for me

Just had to write a review as this place should be higher up on the rankings on trip advisor. To start with the welcome I recieved by the team. I was acknowledged straight away and sat down in waiting area. The food arrived promptly. the seating area was spacious and very high end feel. looking forward to my second visit already.

I visit the restaurant and everything was god until they pushed me to order a main dish. I told them that I was fine with the "poppadome" and the "mixed platter" as a starter and a large Cobra (bear). I just told the waiter that I don't want to have a main because I was full. Then the waiter told that I have to order the main because "it is the rule". I just said "NO - check please" and then I went away.

This restaurant came highly recommended by a friend. The service was wonderful. AJ and Mabs were great in helping us decide on the perfect meal. Delicious flavors and spices. One of the best Indian restaurants we have eaten at.

Great atmosphere and wonderful tasting food, this restaurant can sometimes be overlooked but well worth the visit
