The food was late and when the restaurant was called, several excuses were given by the restaurant despite promises the food was 'on its way'. The driver admitted that he was late leaving the restaurant with me and another customer who waited over an hour for delivery. Give this place a miss, they are not honest and the food purchased was not of quality for the money.

Ordered two hours ago. No sign yet and we get a different story when we call for an update. Appalling service. Go elsewhere. Cannot be trusted.

Recently had takeaway. Very nice although thought from justeat it was free delivery and was charged delivery and service charge.

Last time I visited was in the 80's and it was the Curry Kuteer. It's a great place. Not too busy early on, wonderful friendly service and top notch food. We will be returning very soon.

Ordered a takeaway from here on Wednesday evening after a few hours of eating my meal I have none stopped throwing up and serve stomach cramp. My partner was complete fine after his but unfortunately I am still really ill several days later

I only went to the Bengal Lounge as my husband loves Indian food but I dont like anything hot so it was an experience for me too. I tried some of my husband food ( a first for me ) and it was so good he ordered another poppadom for me to try the chutney tray. Wonderful food, fantastic service and brilliant atmosphere. Well done to all and I would highly recommend a visit. You won't be disappointed.

Excellent food at a good price. Good variety of dishes. Poppadoms and pickle tray great, especially with the addition of the lime pickle. Curries rice and breads were all Excellent. Only here for the weekend but will return during our stay.

Ordered takeaway, which arrived promptly. The food was reasonably priced, hot on arrival and generously portioned. However, it appears that the curry was seasoned with imagination. Very disappointing, even more so the next day when I hoped the leftovers would taste better. Boy, was I wrong. In fact, it tasted as flavourless as a fray bentos tinned pie 🤢. I'm now questioning if the chefs are even skilled in cooking Indian cuisine. I've had better from a supermarket ready meal to be honest. Won't be returning here.

We LOVE Bengal Lounge. Our children choose to have their birthdays here. They do an incredible paneer vindaloo, and are so willing to adapt my paneer special to my exact tastes. Excellent people and excellent food.

There's no better Indian restaurant in Stafford!! If you're a first time visitor to the town, choose here. If you're a long time resident and have a favourite curry house elsewhere then you need to change it to here 🙂

Was really nice, had a family dinner here and on average around £20 per person, Starter.. Mixed meat was delicious.. main, Bengal Chicken chilli masala was incredible I suggest going here.

I had a fantastic meal here recently, the staff were awesome and the food came really quickly. It's unlicensed, so make sure you take your own booze. Highly recommend!

When we arrived we had a wonderful reception. Nothing was ever too much for the staff and the food was out of this world. Been looking for a new curry restaurant after the one we used to go to has closed. Their veggie option was amazing so much to choose from and my when my main came out I was amazed at it. It wasn’t swimming in oil and was packed full. I throughly enjoyed my meal there and can’t wait to go again.

Why have we missed this Jewel in Stafford?Tonight was our first visit after walking past these premises for years and we have really been missing out. The food was fantastic, the staff even more so, this will firmly become our Indian restaurant of choice. Thanks

Our favourite Indian restaurant in Stafford! Excellent food and service, eaten at the restaurant and take away and have never had a bad meal. Wide selections of choices, great flavour, spice balance and always plenty of meat. They are also happy to make adaptions for me to be more slimming friendly!The Bengal chicken chilli masala, tandoori chicken tikka salad and mushroom rice are some of our firm favourites We’re so happy it’s back open, tried a few others during lockdown and none lived up to Bengal

First time I’ve tried this restaurant as been disappointed with Indian takeaways in Stafford thank god we have finally found a brilliant one we have waited over2 hours for cold tasteless food before this was delivered on a Saturday night in 40 minutes super hot and really tasty we’ve found our go to restaurant at last after9 months of trying they even new our new house address not like others we had chops to start lamb curry’s Nanns chips andkeema riceand I can truthfully say it was still hotter when we had finished eating than others just relived we have been in lockdown for 3 months and now we can’t wait to visit the restaurant if you want a great Indian meal look no further I really know my curries as I was brought up on them the last 67 years and this is one of my top 10 enjoy.

visited on the 25th of July and the service was amazing and accommodating. I always tend to go for the same thing in indian restaurants but the owner encouraged me to try something from the chef specialities I tried the Niramish which was delicious and my partner had the lamb Rogan Josh. If I am ever in Stafford again I will definitely be visiting.

Had a lovely meal and great service as usual. This is the only restaurant around that truly makes you feel at home. They have a new menu with a few extras so worth checking out! I had the Naga special but with salmon at request - beautifully spiced. They are moving away from being licensed to just being BYOB from now on (previously both). Highly recommended

My vegan daughter and I visited this restaurant. She was delighted that the menu clearly advised which dishes were vegan. Both our meals were delicious, spicy but not overly hot. Service was good, and the ambience fantastic and I highly recommend it

Visited on Thursday 5th December and decided to try the Thali menu. So glad I did it was delicious. First time iv had tarka Dahl and okra curry. Cant wait to try it again. The onion bhaji was delicious as was my chicken curry. Good idea to have several dishes in little pots to try. Came with a naan and pilaf rice. Would definitely recommend.

We’ve previously been to the restaurant and had numerous takeaway meals and I’ve rated the Bengal Lounge highly. Tonight however that was one of the worst takeaway meals I’ve ever had. The pasanda sauce was so watery I had yellow liquid running along the plate from the sauce. It tasted strange too and after my fourth piece of chicken I ended up spitting a sour tasting piece out as it made me heave. Sorry Bengal lounge but that’s the last meal I’ll have from here, not sure what’s gone wrong :(

This was our first visit and we were very impressed. An extensive menu, very reasonably priced, really friendly staff. The meal was well cooked and nicely presented. We will be returning.

The Bengal Lounge is a wonderful place for a tasty Indian meal. They have an impressive selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes. Everything we had was extremely flavourful and delicious. I had the Tarka Daal, it's a lovely dish of red lentils, garlic and tomatoes. The service was delightful, very personable and friendly. I look forward to returning.

My partner and I decided to order a take away from this restaurant. As we have individual needs I decided to phone them direct . We ordered chicken jalfrezi no salt and paneer tikka masala with two garlic Nan. We were told it was an hour wait which we were happy with . After an hour I rang the restaurant , to be told the driver had already left . Great stuff , however five mi utes later I received a phone call from the driver informing me he had just picked up our food and wanted to know our post code !! Unbelievable! He eventually turned up half an hour later and gave me our food . The food was cold , my partner said that it tasted as if they put extra salt in it . My tikka masala was sticky and too sweet . Overall it was awful . If we weren’t starving I would have phoned the driver back and ask for a refund. We persevered eating what we could . We will never have a take away from there again . The whole experience cost us £18 . A complete ripoff .

I visited Stafford for a business meeting. The night before while I was walking and looking for a place to have dinner I saw this. Relaxing atmosphere, nice music, clean. I had chicken korma with Basmati rice and Tikka Massala. Everything was delicious!!!

We received a very pleasant welcome when we arrived into this restaurant. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, he happily made some recommendations from the extensive menu....all of which were delicious.It has a very relaxing atmosphere and we were under no pressure to eat up and leave, which was very enjoyable.The tropical fish pond under the stairs is delightful, worth a peek.

We visited the Bengal Lounge after a cinema trip and managed to get the last available table in the restaurant.

Again Nothing was too much hassle for Faruk and the rest of the staff who were all helpful and friendly as ever. We walked past and the aroma of the spices was enough to tempt us in on the off chance tonight, the food was top notch as usual, I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who likes a good curry.

I like a good curry house and I've eaten in a range over the years. I really enjoyed the food and the service was good. The portion size was good. The beer not overly expensive, although I'm used to down south prices. The only thing I think needs improving is the toilet facilities, although adequate I think they are in need of an update. Would I eat here again, certainly yes. Good to see 5 star good hygiene rating.

Visited with friends as their choice of venue. Really friendly staff and good service. The food was pleasant, and plenty of it with a lot of choice on the menu. I enjoyed the poppadoms and chutneys but felt it lacked a spicy chutney. I'm not a spice freak and I chose a medium curry, however it lacked the heat and depth of flavour was expecting.

Firstly I must comment on somewhat of a fantastic atmosphere. I was wowed by the fish river (a personal highlight of ours). We were greeted, sat, and offered beer and popadoms. Beer average for the expensive price tag, popadoms and dips faultless. On the arrival of our food me and my compadres tucked into what some would call a an almighty feast. After spending time analysing the menu, I opted for a 3 star Chili dish. Unfortunately the dish lacked flavour, and worst of all the the 3 Chili rankings I was promised. Alternatively I must take into account the praise my friends gave their dishes, they were very impressed - perhaps mine an anomaly?

Been to most curry houses in Stafford, Bengal lounge is a solid choice for a meal out. Nice curry, maybe lacking slightly in spice, but good service and a friendly atmosphere. Would recommend.

I eat at this restaurant whenever I visit the area. Served by Faruq - Can't honestly fault this place. Food is absolutely superb. Appreciative of your business and can't do enough for you. Will be back without a doubt. Top class.

I have walked passed this Indian so many times and always said we will try that one night, so Saturday night we did and it was superb and we will go back again. The service was very good and all the staff were extremely friendly, the owner even took time out at the end of our meal to get us a complimentary drink and have a chat with us. The service as I have said was very good and the food was very very tasty with good sized portions. There is a reasonably priced drinks list which does make a difference to your bill depending on what you drink, our bill with a sharing starter and popadoms, two mains and rice, a bottle of red and a floater coffee was £40... very reasonable. All in all we had a great meal and will certainly visit again.

Excellent service and made us very welcome and went out of their way to decorate the table for the birthday girl. Beautiful food. Will definitely be visiting again.

After a busy Mothers Day weekend my husband and I decided to go to eat here and we are never disappointed. If you want a meal that is slightly different to the menu they happily do it for you. The owner, the staff, the service, the food and the atmosphere are all excellent, we give them 5* every time. Thank you all for making our Sunday evening so good. A perfect way to end a super weekend.

We enjoyed a very good meal at the Bengal Lounge in Stafford. We were travelling home after a weekend away and decided to stop off for dinner on the way, having found Bengal Lounge on Trip Advisor.

Absolutely amazing food and service, we booked for my hubby’s birthday for 20 of us on Friday 4th January and all of our party had the best time! Most people hadn’t visited before and we will all be returning, thankyou for the prosecco and brandy and baileys, fabulous touch and made my husbands birthday so special!

We as a family decided to do Christmas dinner out this year and so we came here. What a delight it was too. We arrived at the allotted time and made to feel very welcome by all of the staff. The food was excellent and the service was attentive without being intrusive. At no point did we feel rushed to get the next lot in. All in all a great experience

6 of us went to the Bengal Lounge a few months ago,and were very pleased with the food and the service,so we made a return visit on Friday evening,as it was recently my wife's birthday.We were not disappointed,as the service and the food were excellent!

With guidance from staff I chose a dish and it was cooked tailored to how I like my balti. The staff are very attentive and guide those with allergies or intolerance.

In Stafford for the weekend and looking for somewhere to eat, we went to the Bengal Lounge because they had good reviews and they certainly lived up to those reviews. The food was excellent. moderately priced and delicious. The staff were attentive and the wine was the cheapest I have had in a restaurant for a very long time. Will certainly go back.

We came in tonight for a quick dinner out and got something AMAZING. I had the paneer special,which they were completely happy to do without mushrooms and with extra chilli because everything is cooked fresh. Genuinely one of the nicest curries I’ve ever eaten and superb service. Really cannot recommend highly enough.

The best Indian in Stafford, bar none. We’ve been going regularly since it opened, and have never had anything less than excellent. Incredibly friendly, knowledgeable staff, and well priced. You’re always sure of a warm welcome. My other half has been steadily working through the menu and has enjoyed every dish he’s had. Veggies - the Bengal Paneer Special is superb. Lovely pint of Cobra, and the wine selection is good. Would highly recommend.

Decided to try the Bengal Lounge. Superb food, excellent service, very reasonably priced and scrupulously clean. We had the Tandoori Special Balti, Sylheti Chicken Chana Palak, Ginger Rice & Peshwari Nan - all delicious! 5* service. Highly recommend 😃

I have reviewed this restaurant before, and I still maintain its the best of all the Indian restaurants we’ve tried in Stafford. It remains our ‘go to’ curry house and with the friendly staff, we have no reason to change! Try it!!

six of us visited a few weeks ago,as we had not been before and wanted to see what it was like.Also,they allowed us to take our own wine etc,which we appreciate.We all enjoyed our food immensely.Staff were helpful and friendly,and the service could not be faulted.Also the cost was very reasonable.We would certainly go there again.Also on the basis of this,we ordered a takeaway from there as we enjoyed the food so much,and we were not disappointed,it was just as good.

Visited here on recommendation from trip advisor on a visit to Stafford. The food was great and the service to match. They did smaller portions for the children and even gave them free ice cream. Great surroundings and reasonably priced you must try it

A recently refurbished fashionable restaurant serving good quaity Indian food at reasonable cost. Very friedly staff. Plenty of bars and nightlife close by. Parking close by.

An excellent meal in beautiful surroundings with excellent staff. They even remembered we'd been on holiday. Our food was excellent I can't wait to come again to have my salmon main. Gorgeous is the word to describe it

We have been a few times as family and as we are a mix of 2 vegans, 1 pescatarian and a meat-eater, they provide a perfect and wide-selection for us all. The service and staff are so friendly and know their food perfectly and their recommendations are always perfectly on point. I am also so bad with spice and have allergies so they altered the food so it fitted me perfectly. It was absolutely divine!

First visit and was pleasantly surprised by the venue and the menu. Attended with 2 married sons (taking me out for Fathers Day) who also were surprised. After bringing the drinks and taking our order, we had to wait quite a while for the meals to be delivered. Well over 30 minutes which is why I only gave 4/5.

Would recommend, fantastic restaurant, food was gorgeous, I normally order a plain korma as I only like mild dishes and the waiter recommended a Passanda which was lovely. Waiters are fab, very nice and friendly.

The food was absolutely perfect! We order a couple of curries to share and it was magnificent. The service was perfect as well. Funny and appropriate. I would recommend 100%!!

On a visit from Dorset to my hometown Stafford. I know the food and customer service is always superb and again I was not dissapointted. Can't wait for my next visit to Stafford. Still waiting for Bengal lounge to open a restaurant here.

We went to the Bengal Lounge on Sunday night - a group of six. From the initial welcome to the end of the meal (which was fantastic and enjoyed by all, even the most critical of the group who said his chicken vindaloo was the best he'd tasted) everything was done to ensure we had a great night. The service was excellent- friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was lovely and relaxing. We will definitely be back.

This is the 2nd time we’ve eaten here and both times the food has been great! They go out of their way to accommodate different tastes and how spicy you might like your food. Always personable and friendly. We will def be back!
