We normally use one Indian restaurant in Stafford for eating in and one for take away. We are very happy with those. On recommendation we tried a take away from here. Oh dear. A bowl of watery slop with no flavour and tiny bits of lamb. I ordered Makhan Lamb Curry. The only way to describe it would be a bowl of tomato soup with tiny bits of lamb in except with no flavour. This could be a one off but we will not be returning. So disappointed.

The food was okay-ish . Not bad but they got hidden charges. Never been to a resturant that charges you for making the dish spicy. ☠️

Abdul and staff always so welcoming. Celebrated my birthday here last night . Gave my husband a free meal to take home to sample. Thanks Abdul and team .

This was our go to place for both takeaways and eating in. The last time we ate in all the prices on the bill were different to prices in the menu. The next time we had takeaway which was delivered missing a Naan bread (the best bit) All they did was say they would send one right away, it came an hour later so meal ruined. Sad but won't be using again.

Authentic Indian food. We just told Abdul, who is an always welcoming and polite person, that we wanted Indian style chicken curry. It was exactly like that. The butter nans and side dishes (Bhindi Masala and Dal Tadka) were delicious too. Overall, what a treat!

Beautifully cooked dishes. We had a takeaway. Tandoori chicken Thawa was cooked to perfection,not too sweet not too spicy. Dal was amazing, best dal I have had in Indian takeaway. Will definitely order again.

Been a customer of Abdul's for the last 23 Yrs and, along with a couple of mates and my brothers, make a weekly visit to his latest Balti venture; Thawa Bridge Restaurant and Takeaway. The food is delicious, the service is great and the staff friendly and attentive. Our weekly injection of fusion spices and herbs are well taken care of by Abdul and his team. Thawa Bridge is not licenced but you can leave whatever you fancy with your meals in advance, or bring them with you, for them to serve. I highly recommend this Balti if your in town, or why not give them a call for a takeaway to pick up or have delivered, whichever you prefer.

Great food. Vegetable dupiaza, steamed rice, garlic and coriander naan bread. Lovely service. The perfect place to meet with friends, relax, eat tasty food and (take your own) drink.

All I can say is that I hope others having a takeaway this evening have a better meal. The jalfrezi was watery and pretty tasteless. A shame as we have had some really good meals from them on the past. Won't use them again.

This is the first time we have had a meal from here, my food was very nice and tasty, husbands was a bit watery but still very nice, followed the live update on my order which was good, it said our food had be collected and was on the way, but then took another 1/2 hr, we only live around 5 minutes away. we ordered 2 Keema nans but only received 1 we dont have many Indian takeaways but when we do I would definitely order from Thawa Bridge again

I made a takeaway order through Justeat. They messed up with my order. Received chicken and prawn mixed curry instead of just Prawn curry. I am a Pescatarian and you can imagine the feeling.

We stopped here for a meal on our journey towards the South. We went by the reviews and the menu and didn’t know what to expect. We were pleasantly met by very delicious food and with every dish of its own distinctive taste. The staff was courteous and attentive, very neat and clean place. We simply loved the whole experience. My partner and I use Thawa Bridge as a takeaway ... The food is excellent! We moved to Stafford just under a year ago and have tried a few curry houses ... this is by far the best we have found! We chose our first meal out of lockdown to visit Thawa Bridge and we were not let down at all. The food was AMAZING! It was even better than the take aways (which we didn't think possible), probably because it was straight out the kitchen... I would definitely recommend Thawa Bridge to anyone! The staff were attentive and great to chat too!We will be returning soon!

Order from thawa Bridge couple of times.First time around food was spot on.it was fresh,hot and was delivered on time.My husband who is a fussy eater also admitted that it was the best indian he has ever had.But the 2nd time his usual Ruby masala wasn't very nice,it was too sweet and artificially coloured.So it was kinda mixed bag but will keep on ordering again and see if it improves!

Without a doubt the BEST curry house in Stafford. Without being crude, I have never suffered the next day, and I do like a hot curry🔥. Haven't been in the restaurant in a while because of the Rona but when I have we always had a great experience, it's quite small but lends to a more intimate experience and the family who run it are always lovely and welcoming. Would recommend to everyone.

We had a takeaway chicken dansak and pathia unfortunately both were extremely bland no flavour at all so we didn't even eat them were that bland I thought I'd got covid and lost my sense of taist, wont be using this place again I'd of rated 0 if I could have complete wast of money spoilt our Saturday evening

Only had a takeaway from there but it was spot on can't wait until we come out of lockdown to book a table for a meal there😋.keep up the good work...

Had a home delivery last night, I love my curry and have always used various Indian takeaways around the town. I must say my takeaway from thawa Bridge was absolutely first class. I will now be a regular customer. 5 🌟 food and piping hot. 🙏🙏

Me and my family have been coming to this Indian for the past year now.The staff are very attentive and friendly, always prepared to go the extra mile for you. You bring your own alcoholic/non-alcoholic drinks which if you drop by early in town before your dinner, they are more than happy to keep chilled for you til later.We always start with Popadoms and they are great at topping us up with extra chutney, mint sauce and onions when needed at no extra charge.We always order the speciality which is of course, thawa. We have the thawa fish and ask for it to come mild, which they accommodate for us. Very generous portion of fish atop, which shows great value at £7.50. We are never left going hungry! It is absolutely delicious, I have tried other thawa dishes in other Indian restaurants in Stafford and nothing comes close to it.Even on a very busy New Years Eve night, they still make your custom feel special.Thank you for everything you do, Abdul and Family.We will be back soon!

Had my first ever meal here last night and really enjoyed the food. The curries were very good. The staff were friendly and greeted many customers by first names so obviously have a lot of regular visitors.However they lost 1 star as mask usage could be better. We were there at the start of the evening and I had to ask the young waiter laying our table to put a mask on after he leaned over me without one. Later on I also observed older staff wearing their mask below their noses.Having said this I would go back as they were so friendly and I enjoyed the curry - but I would also be aware of their PPE and would say something if I felt it necessary.

First time for me but a regular favourite for my partner. Warm welcome, excellent menu and choices. Not rushed, though very busy. All four dishes our group had were delicious, side dishes and starters. Toilets were modern and clean (important to me.) Will now be a favourite to me! Staff were so efficient and accommodating. Highly recommend!

Another great night at Thawa. First time out since lock-down and was a little apprehensive but needn't have been. Great food and service as always with attention to detail when it comes to social distancing and hygiene that did not detract from a great evening. Will definitely be back. Lovely evening the food was amazing as usual. All covid rules were strictly adhered to. The service was very good. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that wants to enjoy a lovely meal out.

Ordered online for a family of 4 on a Sunday evening.clear website making ordering easy although not everything was available which is understandable in the present circumstances.Online confirmation and allotted 45min delivery time,and 45min later a knock at the door.Good portion sizes and piping hot, and very tasty.I would highly recommend trying this place out.

went restaurant sat 29.02.20 1 hour for starters to arrive onion bargies were like rubber. We were very hungry so ate starters value £8. Then the mains arrived I had a very small keema and mushroom balti. Which lacking flavour my wife had a mixed vegetable tawa which arrived in a balti dish not a skillet or a plate. We realised why when my wife said it consisted of only onion and potatoes.whisy wasn't obvious when served in a balti dish. The theordered chilli and garlic nan arrived which was actually a keema nan. So I asked for the bill and it presented as £28.But the owner Abdul stated because on our last visit we praised him a lot he decided to reduce the bill by £8 which meant we paid £20 for 2 starters. I didn't argue paid the bill and told Abdul we would never return again

Yet another lovely dining experience at the thawa bridge greeted at the door as usual by ruby and Abdul with the warmest of welcomes making the usual fuss of our son sid then served with most tasteful amazing curries me and Sid had the signature thawa curry and my wife had the king prawn bhuna all three dishes were beautiful.We found this place about 18 months ago and return time and time again and it never fails to deliver thanks again to ruby Abdul and the team for another lovely evening

We have eaten here a few times now and decided to have my 50th birthday here with friends and family (26 people).We all had an amazing time with such high standard of service from Abdul and all his staff.From the time we booked the table to the time we left they were so helpful and made my birthday meal a memorable night with all my friends and family. I only found Thawa Bridge when my previous favourite restaurant received a poor food hygiene rating. This is a wonderful family run establishment with superb food and a very friendly atmosphere. Not only in my opinion the best Indian restaurant but the best restaurant in Stafford!

The food is delicious and always cooked fresh to your specification. Only down side is that you have to take your own alcohol. Well worth a visit be it to eat in or take away

We visited this restaurant by pure accident and what a fabulous experience we had. My husband and I were visiting for the weekend and we were with another couple. We didn’t know that you could bring your own alcohol. The owner walked with me to the off licence. When we came back we told them what we liked and they personalised the recipes for us. Absolutely divine and really good service. Thank you.

Thawa Bridge Restaurant came highly recommended to me and did not disappoint. It’s a small dining room and just right for groups or couples. The food is lovely.

Booked a table for 8pm about 10 days ago for my husbands birthday, we , all four of us turned up at about 2 mins to 8pm, to be told that ten people had turned up at 7pm for a meal and they had not finished yet, and they had given our table away' What was the point in booking a table ??, This is pure greed on their part, and all they want is money in my opinion , and they told us , we would have to wait, even though we had booked 10 days before,so we left . This was tonight, Fri 5/4/2019 As you can imagine, the town was busy, and eating houses were full, but thanks to a restaurant not to far away , after telling them what had happened, they found us a table and we had a brill night and the food was great. I will never use Thawa Bridge again.

Booked a table for 4 for a birthday meal for 8pm, arrived at 7.55pm to be told "10 people turned up at 7pm so we used your table for them sorry" when we tried to argue we had booked we were met with a shrug of the shoulders. Totally driven by money with zero customer service, well we certainly wont be using this place again!

Great Food and Great Service especially as there were 16 in our group. Would recommend the fish. It’s great that you can take in your own alcohol which helps save a few pennies.

Just called at 23.50 it states it shuts at 12.30 but the persons attitude was extremely rude. I have only written a handful of reviews but the person on the phone tonight was so rude that I will never use this place in future. They don’t even bother to reply to reviews

It’s been too long since we had a meal at this restaurant, our friends from out of town fancied an Indian, and so we booked a table here, the whole experience was totally flawless, the service, the attention to detail, and the food was 5 star, we all had different dishes and all thoroughly enjoyed the authentic taste of fabulous Indian cuisine, Thank you for a lovely evening, we will not leave as long next time before we visit again.

Ordered food from here last night took 40 minutes to arrive and boy was we surprised we were stunned food looked fantastic and we ordered our nan bread extra well done and they didn't disappoint us food tastes fantastic will definitely recommend to my friends and family
