Takeaway. 2 Mains, 2 rice for £40…. chicken tikka masala was apparently way too spicy however the one i requested was nice. Not very good environment had one random worked standing and staring directly at me alone the entire time I was there from my side of the counter whilst i was speaking to the guy behind the counter. Other than that was nice food, maybe back to So India next time tho…

Delicious Indian restaurant. Delicious Tandoori Murg chicken. Devine. Very nice and helpful staff. £60 for 1 starter, 2 mains, rice and naan. Beautiful village Petworth is worth to see after lunch or dinner. Restaurant is really worth to visit. If you like Indian cuisine or you wish to taste it, you will be more than happy.

Tasty food with excellent service. The seating was a bit firm - cushions would be useful. We loved the setting too as it's a very old building in the heart of Petworth. Not much parking but there are further spaces in Market Square.

Ordered large take away, using our own pans and dishes, in advance for around 30 people. Great not to have masses of plastic, easy to re-heat. Everyone loved it!

We were a family of 4 with 2 young children who visited on a Monday evening on the way back from the beach in W. Wittering. I had researched the restaurant based on reviews on Tripadvisor and it did not disappoint. Staff were v friendly and efficient, and the menu was exciting in having predominantly specialities from S. India, which are not typically found in so-called Indian restaurants (often Bangladeshi-run). There were also N. India dishes (e.g. mutton rogan josh). We ate a potato dosa, the Kerala Fish curry, a murgh dish which we ask the waiter to make very spicy to satisfy my Thai wife, and a v mild Korma-like dish for the children, and nan and rice sundries. The potato dosa was an excellent and exciting alternative to the standard poppdoms which most visitors to Indian restaurants snack on while waiting for food. Draft Kingfisher and Cobra beer also available as well as a full bar. No complaints with the food or service, and the owner even gave ice creams to my children gratis. Well done! would definitely visit again if in the area

Wow, it felt like visiting someone’s home. The menu is not what you’d find at an average Indian restaurant, but the staff were excellent in recommending dishes. All the food We had here was exceptional, cooked to an amazing standard and a great price. If I was near here again I’d certainly return

You know you’ve chosen the right place for dinner when you pass two different people coming out on your way in, taking home their dinner for curry night. The crunchy samosa starter, fresh Keralan fish curry and dal makhani were all delicious, with lager on tap. Great service and nice to have booths instead of tables. We’ll be back!

We ordered a takeaway from here, placing the order over the phone and picking it up. The gentleman who served us was so friendly and helpful, making great suggestions, and the food was fabulous - really authentic flavours and absolutely delicious!

Fabulous food, plenty of it and could not fault it. Friendly efficient unobtrusive service making it a pleasurable culinary experience. My partner agreed and said his lamb curry was superb. The menu is full and varied with curries you don’t see in the usual curry house. Best curry I’ve ever had and I’ve had a lot of curries.

Well well well.... Had a few friends that have been here repeatedly and I finally got chance to dine. Stunning. Great food, amazing service and a Good price. Rather nice draft Indian lagers too which was good news. Parking was easy, we were just 20 yards away. Five Stars easy. Very very good.

Visiting petworth to collect magic mushrooms we popped in late for lunch and the manager was happy to stay open for us to eat. Way above your average Indian restaurant. Fresh spices and well cooked together.

We have been going to this indian restaurant for 6 years and are always so happy with our food and the service. We went here for our first meal after we got married as we've spent so many lovely memories on date nights together there. The food has a lot of flavour, delicious and always piping hot. Staff are always friendly and go out of their way to help if you have questions or dietary needs. We have taken so many friends and family who now also love going.

Surprised this has high reviews. I would not go back. Had a really bad experience. Started okay. I ordered popadoms, chutney tray, chai, veggie samosas, kulcha paratha and cottage cheese/spinach curry. Popadoms were nice- chutney tray hm not really anything about them. Veggie samosas okay not taste really. The kulcha paratha was nice and fresh. The curry was so bad. No taste. Waiter asked about it I said it’s fine could I take it away. I was a bit embarrassed about whether to tell him about how I didn’t like it. I told him and asked could it be took of the bill as I didn’t like it or even ate it. He said it’s not possible. I asked to ask the manager. He was very aggressive and said I disrespected him for asking to take it off the bill. I was made to feel really uncomfortable. He could of handled this in a good way- but this was so bad the way he was talking to me. I won’t be coming back- I’m really shocked that someone can run a business and treat someone like that- he said a lot of stuff- said I was lying - saying I was full it is my fault- I should of said something earlier and he doesn’t care if I don’t come back because he has been successful for 20 years plus. Really bad experience.

This was my second visit this month & the service is brilliant. The greeter and our waiter were fantastic & attentive. We received Bombay mix and a complimentary espresso sized soup while we received drinks (Cobra was on tap!) and chose our meals before receiving poppadoms and sauces you can tell are homemade. The meals are not your usual fare from any other Indian you can walk into, which, for me, makes the dining experience unique compared to what I am used too. The waiter was able to recommend something from what I have eaten previously elsewhere, and his recommendation was spot on & I now have a new favorite. Will be returning with others in the next few months.

Seems this place is OK to eat in but not for takeaway. This is the 3rd time we have ordered but been disappointed each time. They do not cater well for vegetarians. They don't do any vegetarian curries, when you ask for a standard dish but made without meat they say they can't do it (I don't see how as every other Indian restaurant can do it) so I am limited to side dishes.... When getting a vegetable dish as my main I was very disappointed to find the dish half full!!! Won't be using again.

Lovely restaurant with delicious veggie options - the aubergine, okra, tarka Dahl, onion pakoras and aloo Gobi (everything we had) were delicious - wish we had had room for the mango sorbet as it sounded sensational! The accompaniments at the beginning were also excellent and such a nice touch. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

It was our first visit to Mystique Masala, recommended by a friend as very good. The food was delicious and staff were very helpful. Their Dakshin Meen Curry, a delicacy from south India, fish cooked in a tangy coconut and tamarind based sauce was lovely and the fish just fell apart as you ate it. Also their Baigan pyaz, Aubergine cooked with onion and tomatoes. We will be returning soon.

The food was excellent, particularly the onion pakora I had as a starter, followed by murg bahar (chicken) with rice and roti. The waiter was very helpful as we weren't quite sure how many dishes to order.

Not simple a 'British Indian' place. Some nice and unusual Indian dishes available. Good service. Prices were reasonable for the south of England.

We went there on a whim when we couldn't be bothered to cook, we had just moved to the area and fancied something easy for us. The food choice was excellent and the staff were brilliant, making room for us as walk a in on a busy day. The food we had was absolutely delicious and there was plenty of it, so much so that we took half of it home. On top was very well priced. We will definitely be going back.

We called in on the off chance following a day trip to London and a long drive home. The food was delicious . The service excellent. In The staff made us feel very special. It was such a welcome,calm environment after a very busy day. We used to live in Petworth and it felt very nostalgic returning to this restaurant.

We visited last night, after long absence for a table for two. The food was as marvelous and delicious as we remembered. Why have we left it so long to venture a few villages along the A272?! I had a mushroom kebab starter which excited the senses with abundant flavour, followed by Chef Special Goat Curry; large juicy fillets of meat in a hot dry sauce, absolutely spot on! The best onion bhaji ever known to humans (if you had better tell me where?). The Mrs had a home made Samosa followed by a Lamb Main Course and Spinach Rice. Mint Paratha was fought over between us. The service was good, relaxed, not on top of you but pleasent and informative. It remains my view, this is the very finest 'a la carte' Indian restaurant in West Sussex with dishes that far exceed the typical standard of menu you'll find in an average, ordinary curry house. If you're a true foodie, you'll love it!

We had a lovely meal here after having been recommended. There are extra touches that add to the ambience such as Bombay mix before the poppadoms. Good to see Cobra on draught rather than bottled. Staff are very friendly.

Best Indian in southern England

Ist visit. Very impressed with service and quality of food which was quite different from the usual 'Indian' offerings.

Food was excellent and waiter was attentive but not overbearing. Prices were good too.

My boyfriend and I were looking forward to trying this restaurant for takeaway for the first time. The menu was different to similar restaurants, so instead of ordering over the phone, we decided to make the journey to place the order In person and ask a few questions about the dishes. When the man eventually came off the phone, I told him my usual Indian restaurant order. He abruptly told me this was not that type of restaurant, it was authentic cooking. I placed my order with no more questions and returned 50 minutes later to collect as instructed. The food was very average at best in our opinion. The chicken Malabari was very bland and the meat dry. Very disappointed and will not bother to return.

I visited this Indian Restaurant as on the website i saw it offered a take away service. I had finished long shift as a Matron at the hospital and did not want to cook. So i thought I would treat myself to an Indian take away. I was in uniform and it was clear I had just finished work. I was so tired. When I ordered the owner who served me at the counter said, 'this is not an Engish curry house' and ordered me to leave. He said it was an Indian restaurant. If I wanted an English curry house just to leave!!!!!!!! I thought this was extremely rude and outrageous to suggest this, as I love Indian food, and not just curry, and also much of India cook hot spicy curry. I felt like a 'Friday Night beer swilling group of men' asking for a Vindaloo, but I was a Nurse just leaving work to pick up a treat. The whole incident was so humiliating and rude that I had to point this out to him. I thought this was utterly disgusting behavior. I ended up going to Godalming and getting a free dish on the house for being a key worker and a discount. I will never for as long as I live go back to this restaurant, and will inform all my Doctor and nursing friends not to go too, as this owners attitude towards medical people is disgraceful... 'The owner' told me to leave as he never heard of Indian curry yet I looked at the menu and there was lamb curry on the menu. I have been to restaurants all over the World even India and never been treated in this way...Just terrible and I would advise you to not go if you do not want to encounter rudeness while you treat yourself to a meal....

We had a beautiful meal here on Sunday night Sept 6 th 2020 , staff were very helpful and friendly . The portions were quite large , we couldnt eat everything and Sanjay kindly packed up the leftovers for us to take home . Very reasonably priced and very well organised for social distancing , temperature checks and contact details . We were only staying for the week , over the road and Sanjay kindly allowed us to have drinks in the bar on the following Monday , lovely place and such a friendly welcome . Thank you .

This is authentic, refined Indian food that was absolutely delicious. All the dishes were superb, and it’s clearly well loved by the locals as there were streams of take-always during our visit. We had a lovely chat with the owner. I couldn’t recommend highly enough.
