We arrived here after walking some of the transpennine trail and were not disappointed. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. The prices were incredibly reasonable but not at the expense of quality.

Having been to Conisbrough Castle, we decided to go into the nearby town for lunch. We were lucky to stumble across 'Meet & Eat' and had a top notch meal of minced beef, mash, peas/carrots with lashings of tasty gravy. The cafe was spotlessly clean and decorated in a Harry Potter theme. The two ladies and gent in the cafe were very welcoming. Great value for money and if we'd had room would have had one of the desserts of offer - old favourites such as jam roly-poly, treacle sponge etc.

What a lovely friendly cafe, lots of Harry and co about. Good food and good value. They were able to cater a gluten free omelette. A nice stop off point on our trip to the lakes.

Looks nice from outside but dirty inside and staff were rude and swore in front of children. Also smoking outside and not cleaning hands before serving disgusting

We stopped here for lunch on a family day out after visiting the castle. We ordered burgers, a club sandwich and I had a “mini” breakfast. The portions are very generous and the food is delicious and excellent value. There’s a great range of things to choose from. Everyone was so friendly; it’s a shame we don’t live closer but we’ll definitely come back if we’re in the area again.

Four of us stopped off for breakfast on our way to York and we wasn't disappointed! A great choice, even giving us their own decaf t-bags which was much appreciated. Not a problem with me bringing my own GF bread. Wide variety, clean and staff super friendly. Thank you

A lovely and welcoming place. We usually pop in there when in the village and enjoy just a simple cup of coffee and a slice of their wonderful home-made cheesecake. I have not tried their meals, but they look good and the prices are very reasonable. I have seen the same faces in there and so they have regular customers, which is always a good sign.

Nipped in for a quick bite to eat. Ordered a ham and cheese panini but received a dry warmed up baguette with hardly any cheese and the cheapest wafer thin ham that I've ever seen. Disappointed, won't be back in a hurry. The pictures say it all!!!

No frills, no nonsense, great prices. What you get is great food at a brilliant price but the jewel in the crown is the service from the staff. No matter whether you order a cuppa or a meal - it's the same - honest to goodness South Yorkshire welcome.Fab service and welcome - long may you continue. Community spirit at its very best.

Popped in for lunch on a family day out to Conisborough Castle. It was busy as there was a Halloween event on. Staff are friendly. Lots of choice on the menu, particularly for kids. Great to see a baby bowl of mash, veg and gravy. Didn't have to wait too long. Food was fresh. Excellent value for money.

Always get a good breakfast here. I really enjoy it. The only thing I'd improve is the fried bread being proper fried and not just burnt toast. I love my fried bread!

Having completed the Christmas Ritual of "Pork Pies and Breadcakes at Dawn !" My Wife and I called into Meet and Eat for Breakfast, Michelle ordered the "Mini Breakfast" and I had the Full English. Up to this point I had always indulged in a "Belly Buster" takeaway nothing had prepared me for the Hearty Meal that was presented to me. I honestly think that the "Mini" Version would have sufficed but being the Proud Yorkshireman that I am continued to devour the fresh quality produce that had been served up, I could have done with one of our Dogs sat at the side of the table to help me with a Sausage or maybe Bacon or Black Pudding. The Food was Very Good, Staff incredibly pleasant for the early hour and the surroundings really cosy at which point I noticed the "Old Photo's of Conisbrough and Denaby which adorn the walls" very Interesting. A Very Pleasant way to start the Chritmas Holidays...Well Done !

Having received no service at Molly's we found 'Meet & Eat'. It was obvious by the number of customers that it was a good cafe. The staff were very friendly and we were served quickly. The prices are resonable and the food was nice and tasty. We all had breakfast's although there looked to be a good varied menu. It was good to see that the cafe has a 5 (highest) hygiene rating. We'll definitely visit again.

Just want to make you aware of these people who own this place.... i did clean there windows.. and first i cleaned one of there windows they watched me clean them, then when it came to pay me for cleaning them, they said they didn't want them cleaning anymore having watched me clean them.... then the second time around they did exactly the same again..... they could of stopped me before i started to clean them... absolutely very sneaky disgusting.... that's the sort of people these are!!!!

We had been here once before under a previous management, when we thought the food was A. a bit pricey and B. a bit pretentious. Yesterday's experience was very different. The outside area when we walked up from the car park needed a bit of a clean, especial as the compound for litter is in full view and was full to the top of cartons and other rubbish. It wasn't a good first impression but we forgot all about it when greeted by a lovely member of staff, (Maisie?) who was very welcoming. Our table was in one of the small dining areas off the main bar area. We had a little wander around after we had eaten and the whole downstairs is very nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. Every member of staff we met was friendly, helpful and able to deal with our requests. We ordered two starters and mentioned that the third member of our party might be allowed to share. As a result, the waitress brought a third plate. The starters - fish cakes and ham terrine - were very nice indeed, although, in retrospect, I should have just had a main course, as the portions were quite generous. All three of us had the Barnsley Chops for a main and they did not disappoint. However, they were served in a shallow bowl and I would have preferred a proper dinner plate. It made cutting the meat from the bone quite difficult. We also had a side order of cauliflower cheese and it was enough for all three of us to share. Everything was very nicely cooked and presented. Dessert was the hazelnut cheesecake, which was pleasant, if a little bland. Very good coffee the end the meal. All in all, a very nice experience and I would recommend 1903 for a special lunch out.
