A very good busy pub with lots of atmosphere, multiple tv's for sports ie football, pool table only 50p per play, landlord & staff lovely too

Do you ever get the feeling of walking into a good old English pub and feeling immediately relaxed and welcome? Well if not then try here. Hard to say what makes a place like this just perfect but then if we knew that everyone would have it. Having excellent bar staff also helped. Watched as she personally greeted everyone coming in which is a skill in itself. In for 1 pint and stayed for 3.

This is a fantastic pub, serving drinks and bar snacks, no food. The atmosphere is fantastic, a wide variety of local people cone here regularly. It's great for a quiet drink, a night out with friends or entertainment with quiz nights, live music events or sports events shown. It's traditional and welcoming with a modest selection of real ales, craft beers, lagers, wines etc. Visit if you're in the area!

Great atmosphere for the Sunday night general knowledge (a free buffet). Friendly bar staff, great for couples to have a good evening out as it's not the sort of venue for teenagers who drink alcopops whilst listening to rap etc.

This was my local when I lived in the area and the only things that have changed are the landlords! The pub remains friendly and welcoming. LOVE IT!!!

It's a lovely cosy pub and has a similar feel. Plenty of room outside so great for summer. I'd say over priced though hence 4 stars.

Busy community pub, just off the centre of Thorne. Games area and a more comfortable lounge area, plus a conservatory, although all open plan. Very little parking at the pub and double yellow lines on the road, but plenty not far away. Plus a great selection of cask beers, possibly the best in Thorne.

If you love a good pint of Guinness then this is the pub for you, The Coors is a lovely sooth pint too. Traditional English pub with open fireplace on a cold winters night, friendly staff, customers are friendly too.

I love drinking in the windmill, it's a very clean cosy pub with a chilled friendly atmosphere & the bar staff are very welcoming.

Seems to be a place just for regulars but otherwise not welcome was a blonde staff member on generally rude and pandering to the regulars won't be coming back again bad staff old decor and piracy in the back room via old emulator

This pub has got to be one of the best pubs in the area. Great atmosphere, great staff. Some super craft beers and lagers. Super beer garden and children’s play area. Definitely recommend it.

Definitely one of, if not, the highest quality local pub in the area. Immaculate homely, dog friendly pub with friendly and outgoing bar staff, suitable for all the family! If visiting in the area I’d highly recommend visiting with the range of ales, lagers, and spirits available. (Massive range of high end gins available too!)

Expensive beer, they don't mind selling it flat when they run out of gas!,and saying it's you that's not used to it!,then take in a gas delivery, and the beer has some life,and then openly tell the rep he's been selling it flat!.

Always been a lovely pub.On 40s weekend would of been nice to have outside speakers to here artist sing.It was packed inside and out ,but couldn't hear entertainment

After just booking into our b&b we decided to go up the road to the local pub to have a relaxing drink to unwind after a long journey before bed. We found the Windmill to be welcoming and friendly local pub, very clean well laid out and traditional. Very busy when we walked in on a Sunday evening as they had a pub quiz on. Just what we needed to relax before heading back to our b&b. Wouldn’t hesitate to come back again. Lovely friendly atmosphere and happy staff. Made to feel like one of the locals. Will definitely visit again when back in the area.

Great place for a craft beer and to watch a match . Particularly great in the Summer time with lovely outside seating for all the family . Main features here are great beers and a superb landlord who obviously puts all his customers first. Don't come here for a meal this is a pub a proper pub. Sadly there are few left. How does it survive you might ask ? Because it's obvious that they all want you to come again time after time .

Popped in to the windmill with my wife for a couple of drinks after work, what a nice friendly pub was my first thought then it got better when I saw the expansive beer garden and kids play area, next thought was the grandkids would love it here on a Sunny day

A well run traditional public house serving hand pulled beers. Food is not served however there are other eatery's local. With a warm cosy atmosphere and live bands on designated nights this establishments is well worth a visit

A great atmosphere and reasonable prices although dearer than elsewhere in the area. Often finish up here after a wander around. Great pint and a friendly welcoming pub. Definitely worth a visit.

Only stayed for one drink with some friends. The choice of beer was average, the price was average for the area and the atmosphere was, well, average. Football was on TV, which most people were watching, so we left after one drink.

IMO best pub in Thorne. Great staff and beer and dog friendly. No food but sausages and roast potatoes on the bar Sunday lunchtimes. Sports TVs and pool table in back bar.

Met some friends here for a catch up over a drink or two this Friday teatime. The atmosphere was relaxed, friendly with a lovely bustle about the place. There were quite a few people enjoying a teatime drink to end the working week, yet service was very prompt and efficient and always with a smile. How lovely to find an obviously well run establishment getting the trade it deserves.

I frequent this pub once a moth or so. Some say it is expensive, but I think its vital the price is slightly elevated to keep certain kinds of people away. Its a warm local pub, with a friendly Landlord and very friendly bar staff. The Sunday night quiz is fun (even if some take it way too seriously) And the play area makes it ideal for family's in the summer

Traditionally styled pub with slightly steep drink prices. Popped in with my wife while stopping off at Thorne for a short stay and had a very pleasant night sat in the pub - the very friendly staff and welcoming locals making our evening. A very enjoyable visit.
