It’s been a while since we had steak in Birmingham, as the halal options are often lacking. Meat Club came highly recommended, so we gave it a go. First impression was that the restaurant was a tad cold inside - but the FOH staff were welcoming and charming. We were seated at a table a little further into the venue (away from the front door), which was nice. We ordered from the set menu (3 courses). Our starters were a mix of wings and soup of the day (tomato). The Korean BBQ wings were tasty; but unfortunately, we had to return the Buffalo ones as they weren’t to our taste. The soup was good. For mains, we all had steak with sides (some had mash, some had skin-on fries). Not all the steak was cooked how we’d asked - mine was too overdone for a medium-rare, and my sister’s was too pink for medium. However, we swapped our dishes and everything turned out okay. The steak itself was delicious; and the accompanying sauces were great too. Desserts were sadly, a let down across the board. We ordered the tiramisu which had an unusual tang, the banana sticky toffee pudding - which tasted more like stodgy banana bread - and a chocolate brownie was which was average, at best. We did raise this with the manager, who took the feedback exceptionally well; and we actually ended up having a long conversation with him! Perhaps the dessert issue was more a matter of taste - we just didn’t enjoy it. The team here are lovely (even though I was upset I couldn’t have an espresso at the end of my meal, because they’d turned the coffee machine off for cleaning). The manager, in particular, was very down to Earth and listened to us, without coming across aggressive nor defensive. We really appreciated that. Overall, would return for the mains - and just wouldn’t stay for dessert. Can’t really fault the team - they were super accommodating.

Such a good spot, their Sunday dinner is mouthwatering and their T bone steak is delicious. Customer service is amazing. If you’re feeling a steak, burger or even a Sunday dinner head down to meatclub, definitely will be returning!!

Had the worst experience at MeatClub. Don't bother wasting your time or money. We thought we'd try it out after reading reviews. Had booked here for a Valentines dinner with my partner, and it was a massive letdown. We ordered the Rib-eye platter, but they couldn't get it right. We asked for medium-well, but it kept coming out rare. We had to send it back THREE times. The manager's were making excuses saying this is how we normally cook the meat and that it wouldn’t taste the same if it was cooked more. Which if that was the case then why bother asking how we like the meat they should have told us that they only cook it this way. Also waiting around for 1hour 30mins we got up and left and gave the dog the untouched platter. The food was a disappointment, and for the price they charge, you'd expect them to cook it to your liking after being told multiple times. There were other tables that also sent food back which showed that it wasn’t just us feeling this way. Miller & Carter down the road is a much better choice and they also cook to your preference. I have to mention they charge £3.90 for off brand cola which doesn’t taste of anything either. The bill came to a staggering £95 for awful food. This place ruined our night. I highly suggest you avoid it and especially if you prefer your meat to be more cooked by choice. There is also no parking here the road outside has double yellow lines.
