Hickory's Smokehouse in Dudley

Our son was 13 and he likes all things American so we took him to Hickory's for lunch. I don't know the name of the young man who served us but he is a real credit to Hickory's. So friendly, helpful and professional. The other staff were also very good. Our meal and drinks were excellent and a lovely little cake with a firework was brought out for our son's birthday which was a lovely touch. Would definitely return.

came for my daughters 13th birthday there was 19 of us! we had a separate room which was amazing as we had children with us. our sever Zack was truly amazing as there was alot of us he kept it all running smoothly checking in on us asking if we required more drinks or if we needed anything he kept very calm and was so lovely as you can imagine a big group and with young children it was manic but he did brilliant cant speak highly of him enough thank you Zack the food was beautiful as always big portions all brought out together served hot and pudding were delicious my daughter even got to go behind the bar and make a mocktail!! she absolutely loved this thank you for making her birthday so special zack x

Can't fault the food, the service or the atmosphere. If you like meat, lots of meat, and the taste of the deep south (usa), then this is the place to go. One drawback, the wine is cr@p!

Just wanted to say a massive thank you to the staff for making our 43 rd Anniversary one to remember. You made everything perfect and went above and beyond to make it extra special with a glass to celebrate and lovely board with message and cakes. The food absolutely delicious, the chicken was melt in your mouth and the ribs to die for and the burger was so tasty. A special mention to Tom loveliest person and server we’ve had, thank you for everything.

Came here for partners new job celebration, with the kids, as we’d tried the one in Worcester last summer. This had such a good atmosphere, food was delicious, the portions are so big it had as almost unbuttoning the top button on our jeans ( if you know, you know) our server Tom was an absolute delight, such an amazing bubbly person, whom made the experience even better! Good company, good food and an awesome night! Thank you again guys shall be back in due course x

Ten of us aged from 5 to 79 dined this evening. Excellent service from start to finish, with attentive staff and lovely well presented food. Everywhere felt clean and comfortable, there was a lovely atmosphere and it helped to make my niece’s birthday such a lovely time together as a family. Thank you.

I have been to Hickory's a number of times now and really enjoy the atmosphere and the welcoming hospitality of this restaurant. The staff really couldn't do more to help. On my last visit, I was greeted on entry and sat at the bar. The server, Joe, was fantastic and upsold me a Life's a Peach sweet tea which was delicious and beautifully made! I then was taken to my prebooked table for food, where my server, Zack, welcomed us with such a genuine warmth that we felt completely at ease. He asked if we were celebrating anything or just enjoying a meal out. He talked us through the menu, recommended dishes and ensured we had everything we needed. The food was superb as always, and the service was smooth, quick and with a heartwarming smile. Highly recommend this fantastic restaurant and will definitely be back again soon.

Absolutely blown away by the customer care and service at Hickory’s tonight. Busy Saturday night and the place was packed, small error with my son’s meal and was given a hugely generous gesture of goodwill. Hugely appreciated and not necessary as the service was already top notch but certainly means we will be back and spread the word that Hickory’s, unlike so many others, really understand that excellent customer care is what really counts. Thank you.

When early afternoon about 330 with family buying cocktails spent £75 about to buy another round and somebody came up to us and said these tables are reserved. You’ve got 15 minutes I replied we have spent upwards of £100 here which is probably the same as food. There are no signs up to say the tables must be vacated at a certain time we were in the bar area she said you have to sit at the bar if you want to stay, the barstools were all taken 5 of them only and I would’ve expected for your customers a bigger time frame window of say 30 minutes to announce that people need to go and also it would be useful to have it written somewhere in the vicinity not to be told 15 minutes before Unnecessary and rude

We came here for dinner on the 9th of January, and we had booked a table for 7pm, granted we were 7 minutes late as traffic was bad but we apologised, and the front of house was nice. Our table wasn’t quite ready so we were directed to the bar where we got two drinks, and the bar staff were lovely, making an effort to talk to every customer. It was 7:30 and there was still no table, so we moved over to some other chairs that were more comfortable, throughout the next half an hour I notice the lady who greeted us at the door looking at us repeatedly and at 8pm she comes up to us and asks if we were waiting for a table. I know it was busy and it’s not her fault if theres a bit of a backlog, but I was shocked that she openly admitted that she’d forgotten about us, she then directed us to a table that had been free for the past 15 minutes. She apologised but I feel like because my partner and I are a younger couple, she felt like it was okay to be sort of casual about it because we aren’t likely to make a fuss, but if we were a couple in our fourties’ there’s no way she would’ve made us wait an hour for a table that we booked in advance, and offer no compensation, and despite this we still paid the added service charge. Our food did come out very quickly, whether that was because the kitchen was told we’d waited a whole hour or not I don’t know. The food was very nice, I had the full rack of ribs with the house bbq sauce, and my partner had the beef rib, my fries were lukewarm but I was eating it with the coleslaw so I didn’t mind. For dessert we shared the Cookie Monster milkshake, and it looked and tasted amazing. Our server was attentive, but it did take a while for us to be able to grab someone to get the bill although the restaurant wasn’t busy by the time we left. I’d come again because we’ve visited before and not had to wait that long, but it was a bit of a dampener on the evening.

Great day after we were told out table for 15 was cancelled for it to be then put back shame they could not of added two more people my mother and other daughter could not be fitted in . Food was great .

We did book a table for my 7 years old birthday, I was a bit disappointed with the table as it was near the doors at the back and we were cold, but as soon as the waiter took care of us he made the experience a lot better, he really made sure my daughter enjoyed her evening and gave her a doughnut birthday cake, super professional and friendly, food was great as always, thank you Tomas ☺️

Just want to say a big thankyou to Lucy our waitress she went above and beyond at making my celebration extra special with my personalised ski board! I don't usually leave reviews but for this place I will. First of all a big THANK YOU to Mariah. My young son is autistic and struggles with food, we brought him to Hickory's as they serve baked beans which my son loves. However they do not do toast which is understandable. However my young son was having a very off day and became physically upset. Mariah was an absolute angel! She calmly explained she too has autisum so understands the struggle our son goes through. She took our order and went about her business. My partner took our son out to calm him down only for Mariah to come back and tell me she has had a word with the kitchen and have arranged for my son to have toast with his beans. I must state this was purely off their own backs, they truly went above and beyond! My son's face lit up when he saw the toast. I didn't manage to say thank you to Mariah as her shift ended before I could say to her. THANK YOU Mariah, you really made my littel boy happy! As per the place, food is always perfect, staff are friendly and for the whole experinece, it is very wallet friendly.

Arrived today with my Girlfriend for a date night, The Customer Service was Honestly AMAZING! It’s hard to get good customer service anymore but the Waiters, Seating Staff, and Servers were outstanding with their Respect , Service, and Caring personality’s! Tilly was so lovely and served us for the time we were there , She was so kind , and Respectful:) They all seem to love their jobs every one of them which is so nice to see. The food arrived at our table in under 6 minutes after ordering , same with dessert! Service is so Fast :) Chefs know how to cook ! The Food is beyond Amazing! Honestly this beats any restaurant I’ve been too ! the Atmosphere was incredible , detail in every section of the place , they really do go all out :) even a cinema room :) Couldn’t thank the Staff enough :) I’m looking forward to coming again!!!

Booked I'm here for me my wife and 4 children for my wife's birthday as this is one of our favourite places to dine out , and I'm really sad to say I do not see myself returning anytime soon as we sat down to eat our meal they missed out my sons order , then I can only describe it to be like a school play ground there was kids running around the restaurant floors everywhere flying past our table every 30 seconds like headless chickens on of them had a pot of ice cream overflowing all over the floor been trodden In everywhere, no staff botherd to have a word with theese crazy children it's just not something u expect in a establishment like this , it's completely ruined my meal we just wanted to get out of there so much I didn't check my bill untill I was on the way home that I had been charged a extra children's meal on top of my bill and on top of the 10 pounds that goes into there tip jar for the staff , really disappointed as we love this place not what we expected

Just been to this place for the first time and we enjoyed it. Not quite 5 star but it's close and my reasonings as to why are as follows: Service is 5 star. From the moment you walk in they are friendly and courteous. You are served a bottle of tap water and some free popcorn, nice touch, liked it very much. From this visit my food wasn't quite a 5. Milkshakes were spot on. Food I had the beast and bird burger. The portion size was good. The magic dust seasoning on the fries was so good we bought a tub to bring home with us. The southern fried chicken in the burger had bags of flavour. It was moist, crisp and tender, couldn't fault it. Where the loss of a star occurs is the beef burger. No taste, no seasoning, very bland, no crust. Couldn't even taste the creole sauce, i made the wrong decision in deconstruction of my burger to eat it by taking out the chicken burger to eat separately with the yummy slaw. Atmosphere is 4 Star, perhaps have a small area for adult only diners. Don't get me wrong we have kids ourselves and understand how they can be but if you go out for some no kids time it would be nice to have the option to separate yourselves but that's literally nit picking. Lesson is not to have the beef burger but everything else was lovely.

I thought the food was nice. Experience was ruined by the manager turning off the football even though there was only 15 mins left. Hes reasosning was the non existent nfl fans wanted to watch the pregame build up of the nfl. These fans didn't turn up until at over half an hour after the football finished. He was rude and needs to work on his people skills. Always been a fan of hickories but won't be coming back.

Wonderful place a little exspensive however worth every penny would definitely recommend and will definitely do a return visit all staff very helpful polite and professional through whole evening and very nice atmosphere and child friendly! Well done to all !

I don't like eating off the chopping boards, plates would have been better, but I can understand that's their style of serving. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I did not like my vegetarian burger or churros. I don't think I will go back. The waiters were kind and polite hence the 3 star.

The staff are very friendly and helpful and you get lots of food. Update after a few more visits: Me and my family have had some great meals here. Not all of the food is to my taste, but we have all found food to enjoy and the staff are always so friendly and enthusiastic. The milkshakes are like a desert on their own and the kids LOVE them! The staff really make an effort and if you are celebrating, they celebrate with you. Definitely worth letting them know if it's someone's birthday on your visit

Wouldve given 5star if it wasnt for the toilets blocked up and then the only toilet which was avaiable for the whole of the customers was 1 dissabled toilet which was a mess to start to point many walked awy and it was only after being told was it cleaned. But never let it put dampner on night just crossed legs and carried on.

A very good BBQ place. They focus on the one thing (Texas BBQ) and do it very well. Service was excellent even though they were really busy. We visited on a Saturday evening and it was rammed. It was a bit too noisy for us but that's just us. I don't think you'd have much chance getting in if you don't book.

On my 35th birthday party toilet broke. We were told to leave restaurant after 1.5h of waiting to place our orders. We had to leave without food. Nobody even bothered to apologise. We are waiting for Phone call from manager and nobody called us since then. Very disappointed. …Więcej

We came to visit for my sisters birthday there were 11 of us altogether. We got sat near to where the food is prepared and every 5 minutes they were screaming service, which got quite annoying after a while and we all left with a headache. We all ordered different things off the menu the children's meals were quite expensive for what you got and he chicken nuggets for the little one were quite hard and dry. My partner and I ordered a platter but we weren't impressed as the meat was dry compared to the last time we had it, we had a lovely server whilst we were there.The bill total was over £300 the kids weren't full from their meals 😳

We booked a table for 8.15 but had to wait in the bar until 8.35 to be seated. When we were seated it was at a table that had been vacant since we had arrived. Service was good at the table. The goo good was ok but a little dry. Could have been better for the price.

Went here for a anniversary dinner was has expected was served one drink the server that was waiting the table was no where to be seen food took ages to come out to be served by two other waiter again was not asked if we wanted any other drinks or asked if the meal was OK at any point during the meal wasn't asked if we'd like desert and the menu was taken away no soon as we ordered so could look at the menu to see if we'd like any extras or desert through the meal the food was completely over priced and over rated I've had better burgers from a burger van on carboot nice decor but again service wasn't up to standard and neither was the food for the prices they charged american themed weatherspoons

Firstly had a booking for 5.30pm. We arrived slightly early and was asked to wait at the bar for table to be ready. Then we were seated about 10 minutes late of our booking time. We ordered the Smokehouse Sampler which was recommended by the staff. The food looked nice when it arrived, but the foods taste was from from nice. There wasn't any component of the sampler that was any good. (Only exception was the sausage and fries were ok). The food was very dry. Almost as if it had been cooked then reheated a day later. It was also very bland and not much flavour at all. I've never had brisket that has been dry like that before. And not much sauce to help with it either. It was all just very bad. To the point where I left a fair bit of food. And anyone who knows me knows I don't waste food. So that in itself says how bad it was. It was a meal for our wedding anniversary and the bad food spoiled our evening really. The service was decent in the end though after being seated late. But the worst was still to come. As we both woke up in the night with bad stomachs. It was by far the worst dinning experience we have ever had. And needless to say we will never visit again. After spending almost £100 would expect far better. Would not recommend to anyone.

A great place for a change of scenery. Very sports bar themed but just great American style food. Ribs, pork and beef, are the best around.

Very good, I would go back. But room temperature was stifling, and the tall stool seating given us as a group was very hard and uncomfortable (they do have better for smaller groups). The food was excellent, but a waiter shift change meant we ended up with a large wait at one point.

It's normally pay day weekends my partner an I visit here as she likes to have a moan about the cost of eating out and all that jazz. But also because my favourite thing on the menu is the Great American breakfast which is just shy of £20. But my, even with a Belgian waffle (?) It's Amazing! Staff are always antentative and helpful, even though I know exactly what I'm ordering before I get there. Well deserved 5

We went here on a mid week night and the place was fairly busy. We had booked a table for 6. We were greeted and seated in a very friendly manner ( sorry can not remember names ). Service was prompt and again very friendly. All the staff we encountered, particularly the lady serving us were great. Drinks were good and they served different beers, which I like. Food was tasty and well presented, I would of liked more meat on my ribs but that's just me. The building is well designed and looks really good, there is a lot of parking available. Prices we found to be very reasonable for what we had and we will return.
