Yesterday I was in the queue with friends and there was two staff members the young lady was lovely but the other lady whom I’m guessing is early 50’s was rude. She took pictures of us in the queue and didn’t ask for consent. She just said I’m taking pictures for my boss. And took them. Which wasn’t appreciated. I wouldn’t go into any company and take pictures of the staff. Especially with no consent. I felt sorry for the younger female staff who tried to get the queue down as fast as she could.

Today we visited meadow cafe and it was so busy the queues were out the door. But there was one member of your staff that went above and beyond in there job. I don’t know her name but she was young and very petite. With brown hair in a bun. 14/09/2024 is the date I visited your cafe. The smile was constantly on her face no matter how hectic it became. I just have to say she really is a credit to your cafe.

My son went with his carers, due to his disability he shouted once. There was 2 people in there so this didn't cause any issues. Apart from the manager who was unprofessional. She mistook my son for someone else. Said he is always trouble, said he had thrown a table previously, then changed to pushed a table, said when he was in there with his coloured carer ,which he doesnt have, says he wears his headphones, which he doesnt use.So many indiscretions. Completely the wrong person ,but her rudeness and her attitude caused the carer to cry. A change of attitude seemed to happen when she realised she had it wrong, but no admitting to it. Staff had checked on the carer and customers commented to not coming back. Customer care is lacking, small businesses need support but unfortunately this one will not be getting it.

Drinks are nice but customer relations could do with some skills. An old Chap spilt his Capachino all over the table, he was most upset that he had lost nearly £4 and said he couldn't afford another. I took his cup back in and asked if they would refill it for him. I was told a definite no. I realise the world is full of scammers trying it on at any opportunity but in this case they could see the old chap sat outside the window and the Capachino dripping off the table. Whilst they had no obligation to replace it, it would have been a welcome humanitarian gesture. When Sue worked there I used to spend £10-£15 a day there, as with so many places like this it's often about the social interaction for the customers and not the coffee. Take the golf hut for example, not the best coffee but a lovely friendly atmosphere.

Bad Attitude Went here today with my daughter, touch an ice cream tub to see what size my disabled daughter wanted. Only to get told off like a kid! Service with a bad attitude! So walked out and went up to the Life Center. Got a service with a smile!! Not be spoken to in this way at all! Staff in the cafe need to learn better customer service skills.

Visited late morning. Shouldn't be called a cafe in all honesty. Just drinks and ice cream on offer. Massive missed opportunity. The Park Pavilion cafe at Devonport Park has over 60 choices for food.

This place is such a missed opportunity, especially during the school holidays. Every time we come here mid-afternoon they are on the verge of closing for the day despite the children’s play park being absolutely rammed with families. If this place stayed open even until 4pm it would easily pay for itself but by 2:50pm they are turning people away. The staff are quite surly, especially the woman that manages the place, and if you’re inside at the time they are closing they lock you in and place rubbish bins across the doors, which in my view is a health and safety issue as well as actually being quite rude and unnecessary. This really surprises me for a facility ran by CaterED which is the Councils’s arms-length company responsible for school catering because my experience of the schools side of things has been excellent. My advice is to bring your own drinks and snacks and don’t bother with this place. It’ll be closed before long and they’ll be wondering why.

I really wish this cafe was better. There is coffee of ok standard. Rarely any cakes and you can’t have lunch here. Opening hours are short. It’s a compete missed opportunity. Would love do a breakfast/brunch but you can’t. The completion is the life centre which isn’t saying much! Please get some cushions for your chairs and more than one highchair. You are right next to the play park with many mums who will be breastfeeding. It’s not easy to do here.

Just south of the Clock Tower is a simple slightly odd building containing some public lavatories, two hatch counters and a small inside cafe space, although most of the bench tables and seating is outside around the southern and western sides convenient particularly to the children’s play park and the skate board area. The council describe this as being the busiest and most visible spot in the park ‘overlooking and in easy reach of the community sports hub’. At the moment the opening hours are restricted and not much use late afternoon or warm evenings. But when open they sell a range of hot and cold food and a range of snacks confectionary etc. We have seen it busy particularly outside during school holiday time. It’s not clear whether they let anyone bring and eat their own stuff at the outside tables. We have taken a pit stop here while walking the dog and did not get told off although we have not noticed any bowls of water for pets.

We got the pumpkin latte with cream and the hot drink was cold and manly cream and nearly any cold and we waited 30 minutes for our drinks and the staff was slow and not interested in doing people drink properly. And their use to many dishes not collected around the tables and tables was dirty. And this is the 2 time!!!!!! this has happened please look into the hot drink machine and see if its working . And better staff .
