M'Dim Sum in Southampton

very good soups and dim sum. Those one with shrips are prefered. the place is in the middle of the city, not fancy with good vakue for the cost

We had a superb meal here, the best Chinese I’ve had in Southampton for many a year. The dim sum is terrific. Everything is fresh, the service is excellent and friendly, the restaurant is the cleanest I’ve ever been in. Prices very reasonable. Highly recommended.

Very friendly people! Excellent service and great food served very professionally! The guy who seemed to be the manager checked on us frequently to make sure everything was alright! The only complaint is that it was WAY too much food! We are only visiting here for couple of days so taking a ‘doggy bag’ isn’t really practical. So we did something we learned from our time in Guatemala, we took the extra food and gave it to a homeless person.

After reading the reviews we decided to give this a go and we weren’t disappointed. Lovely welcome, nice selection of drinks and the host was only to willing to take us through any of the dishes on the menu. We went for one of the set menu’s but hubby added a hot and sour soup as well, he just had a taste for it lol. We changed one of the beef dishes to a chicken one, which was no problem, but boy oh boy the food was so good. So glad we booked a table as they got very busy. Will definitely go back again if we’re in the area.

Dined with a group of old friends on a Saturday evening. We were all so pleased with our evening. Very good choice of dishes, all excellent. The service was very good in a very clean comfortable setting.

Two of us enjoyed lunch here. There were many Chinese people dining here, which was a good sign. We chose Prawn and Scallop Dumplings, Crispy Pork Belly with Rice, Pork with Soup Noodles and BBQ Pork Bao Buns. All were delicious but too much so we took some home! Service was excellent - 10% service charge is added to bills so I really hope the staff receive it. We’ll be back.

My favourite Asian food restaurant in Southampton! This is the third time I've been and each time the food has been amazing. There's nowhere else I've been that even compares! Took my mum for Mother's day (a day early!) and she was also really impressed. Having both travelled a lot, it's a real treat to come across amazing flavours and authentic food! Love, love, love!

4 x 50 year old mates, all born and bred in Southampton popped in here spontaneously for a meal on a Saturday night and we all unanimously agreed it was the best Chinese we'd eaten in Southampton for many years (and we've eaten in most that profess to be a restaurant.) Be under no illusion, it's a Chinese restaurant and if your expectation is not set at Chinatown levels in terms of service, value and provenance of food you will doubtless be disappointed but for around £40 each including 3 or 4 beers we were genuinely pleased with our selection of starters and mains and won't hesitate to go back nor recommend to others. Give it a go, you wont regret it.

My mum went there who is visiting us and therefore doesn’t speak much English . She is also 75 . They treated her horrible very disrespectful , making sure she knows that she is not from around here . The food was very poor . No taste and stomach ache . Never again !!! With this kind of attitude. Also it was very dirty and sticky . Lots of nice places to eat around Southampton, don’t waste your money on this one .

It was a great place. Beautiful dishes and good. High-class service since you must not ask for hot water for your tea. They came around to pour. The noodle soup is just perfect. Next time again for lunch. Since some of my favorite dishes are not available for dinner. Like in Hong Kong.

Great option for roast meat. I previously ordered on Uber Eats, enjoyed it so much I thought I’d stop in for a visit and it is even better in person. I ordered the two meat BBQ combo, roast pork and pork belly. Three size options, I went with medium and it was a very hardy portion. The presentation makes it worth visiting, came as a very attractive and nice platter. I also went with the morning glory with oyster sauce to have something green, also a very good portion and the morning glory was fresh. The roast meat is as good or better than the best options in London’s Chinatown, definitely worth a visit.

I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. The food was okay,but when i saw the way the manager treat the staff i was SHOCKED!Studying and working in hospitality the last 16 years i never experienced that .I would never go back there again there are much better chinese restaurants in town for sure...No offense to the supervisor/manager but i think you need to guide your staff and not to scary them!

Just finished our meal and it wasn’t good, hot and sour soup was so spicy I couldn’t eat it and my wife’s chicken and sweet corn had chicken that wasn’t real and tasted like tofu, the next course was hors d’oeuvres it was tasteless except the seaweed then on to the mains chicken curry with veggie fried rice, rice was great but the curry I can only describe as a bowl of plastic chicken and a few bits of onion needles to say we won’t go back… oh the wine was good though

Our first time and we loved it , the food was top class and the duck was the best we have had in Southampton , the staff are very efficient and the is no rush with the courses , we had a late lunch and we notice the staff eating at the back of the restaurant , got to be a good sign.

Impeccable service, quality food and fair prices. The Hong Kong Milk tea is delicious. We always dine before 5pm at weekends and enjoy the discount. The atmosphere and ambience makes you want to return.

Hard to pitch it between two or three stars but I’ve opted for the former. We got quarter duck and pancakes to start but one pancake (out of 6) at the bottom of the steam basket was mush. I doubt the pancakes were steamed rather likely microwaved. The duck was tasty but we got shredded leaks and not spring onion. My wife opted for chicken and black bean with steamed rice which was tasty 3 star but pretty low on vegetables. I got a soya duck main which had steamed pak choi and a huge portion of steamed rice, most of which I left. The duck was thin cut, it tasted just about ok and the dish was way over priced and a waste of money. Our two mains came with diet cokes (330 ml cans) with lots of sliced lemon at about £14 each. The staff were very attentive. What bugged me was the addition of a 10% discretionary tip that was so discretionary it was already added into the bill. I left £50 so my tip was about £6 in total but that was my choice. I do rail against this sort of sharp practice though. It is not acceptable and they should desist. They are taking advantage of customers who don’t want to make a fuss and it’s bad business. Certainly won’t return because the food does not impress for the prices charged even before the alleged discretionary tip.
