Often come here to sit and eat in the car park at night as a treat, almost died taking the wrong exit at the roundabout once and there’s some large babies to be found in the area but food is bang on can’t fault it

Bill went above and beyond to help me; all staff were busy but Bill went the extra mile which was very much appreciated; good old fashioned service goes a long way; a massive thank you👌

Shocking service, rude, bored and the ‘manager’ was a joke! Thought it was ok to fix their error by overcharging me for the replacement. No sense of team responsibility.

Excellent straightforward service. Little touches. Couldn’t fault. Extra milk? Straightaway. Smiley

We tried mac crispy bug mac fish fillet burgers all are very good and the team of McDonald is very helpful, especially the team manager on shift who was very helpful thanks to all the team

We visited McDonald's for lunch with family but the food was not according to the standard of the McDonald's fries were not fresh. Burgers smell bad. The drinks were not frizzy we are very disappointed. Reported that to the manager he said we are Struggling with the staff

The absolute worst. Saturday lunchtime, first day of a school holiday and they have hardly any staff on. Restaurant, drive through, car park & surrounding grassy areas were full of people but no one had any food! Plus, it’s in an internet black spot so there was no Wi-Fi and no one could get a signal on their mobile data. It was also dirty too and 2 of the ladies toilet cubicles had no paper in. When our food arrived after waiting 40 minutes it was so cold and we had to wait another 10 minutes for our drinks (only soft drinks - which were wrong when we got them!). Oh, and to top it off, I got the worlds smallest gherkin slice!

Easter good Friday breakfast stop with family on way back from cruise. Very busy morning but staff working best they can. Strange that they were jet washing the entrance way into the restaurant on one of the busiest mornings though. Lol 😂

Car parking cramped. No milk shakes. None of the order machines able to print receipts Inadequate signage on exit. A very average experience. Would have reviewed on McDonalds web site but guess what - no receipt = no code = not able to leave a review. Clever, huh?

Went to drop off the Grandkids not only was the service very slow but the staff had no skills or customer service bordering on rude typical McDonald’s never again

New Year’s Day, didn’t want to cook…drove to Tot Hill McD’s…no other customers, no drive thru, no deliveries…no food being prepared except ours!! Cooked to order but all cold! Not even the cheese melted! Stood at the counter for nearly 5 minutes…obviously invisible to staff..and can’t complain to the franchise because yet again, no receipt available!! SHOCKING!! AVOID AT ALL TIMES

If I could give less than 1 star I would, while building is just dirty. Had to wait 45 minutes from the moment I placed my order. All staff are just rude and clueless.

On way to Southampton we called in for breakfast. It’s our regular spot. Ordered on app and quick delivery to table. Delicious

Yikes! Cleaner must be on a sabbatical 🤢 food and service fine but hairs on cleaned tables and mouldy green chips around table legs is just super lazy. Best to take away and eat anywhere else. Such a shame this restaurant- aves £’s on cleaners. If your selli g you should be cleaning. Ho hum :(

I have not eaten a Mcdonalds in a while and we were passing so gave it a go. I ordered a big mac meal and asked for no cheese. The meal came through with a "fresh made no cheese" sticker. Got home, opened the box and presto, cheese! If it had not been a five mile journey over the dreaded Thatcham level crossing I would have taken it back. Also, if that dried out thing was fresh made, God help the burgers of the other sort. We live in a world of allergies and no restaurant can have such a cavalier attitude to removal of foods. Visit to Macdonalds, Newbury Retail Park - got home to find half the food missing. Called to complain and whilst being passed to the manager, the girl called me a Stuck up cow! The manager made no effort to apologise and his answer - come back and tell them I said we would replace the full meal.Bad enough to not get the correct order but to be called a Stuck up Cow was disgusting!Don't visit unless you mind being insulted!

My wife and I called in to use toilet and get a burger. We were nut by a lady around 50 who treated us like a head of cattle, we are both well into our sixties and would like a little respect. I said to her we would like to use the toilets first, she said use the sanitiser over there( no please) we used it and then she shouted turn right which I did, but I did not realise she meant her right no mine. So she shouted no over here ( no please again). We went to the toilet and I was waiting by myself outside the toilet doors for my wife with my mask on, she came straight over to me and said “ can I ask you to wait outside” ( no please again) we went outside and we decided that we would not bother getting the burgers at an establishment who employs people like that. I realise that there is a epidemic going on, but manors cost nothing.

Waited 15 minutes for standard quarter pound cheeseburger meals. Burgers were cold. Informed staff member who took everything away and he said that they would cook fresh burgers. Waited another 15 minutes as had to ask member of staff where our food was and yet again we were served cold burgers. Staff member gave us large chips (which we did not want) As compensation. Worst McDonalds that I have ever visited. Will not be using this one again.

We went to Newbury Tot Hill services for a quick bite to eat on our way home and to break up a long journey. There was the best social distancing in any restaurant I have frequented and a great deal of care and attention was given to me and our family. Safety in light of covid is very obviously being adhered to and it was a pleasant change to be honest. The staff couldn't do enough for you, they were polite and pleasant, the food was hot and fresh and we all felt safe there. Well done Tot Hill! May other McDonald's aspire to be like you

I spent £35 just now at Mcdonalda and I'm missing two meals! I drive back forth from work so there is now chance of me driving back to collect. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Dreadful, dreadful place. Ordered all standard food, 4 meals and it took 20mins to arrive, with only 2 customers waiting in front of us. It was stone cold, burgers were almost like they had come straight from the fridge. Fries were cold and some were not cooked properly.Didn't get a receipt as the machine had run out of paper (bit like the toilets, although sink was low enough to improvise so all good!) With no receipt apparently I couldn't complain about my food as I probably was 'trying it on'. Apparently they get a lot of that there. I guess they haven't read their own reviews!Still waiting for a response from Customer Services but don't hold out much hope.

first the touch screen printer didn't work so having used one of these unhygienic things I didn't get an order number. The food came through easily as there were only us and one other in the queue. Food however, was warm, deluxe chicken burger was basically two chicken fingers and a bit of green. Big Mac was not big - the burgers were paper thin and the milkshake was runny enough to suck through a soggy straw when I remember them as being wonderful thick beasts. On top of that the place was cold.

Bearing in mind this is at a service area, and most people are in a hurry, 15 minutes for a few nuggets and chips is ridiculous!The speed the staff seemed to be moving was slow beyond belief and we certsonly won’t be returning to this one.

Visited yesterday afternoon . Very quiet with few diners and only 1 other person in the queue ... they had a coffee and I only had a milkshake ... still took 8 minutes from ordering to receive the shake . Plenty of staff around laughing about so clearly priorities wrong .Will be avoiding

Stupidly, I’ve visited this McDonald’s 3 times in the past month and a half. Clearly not learning my lesson. Tonight’s visit, on a Friday at about 7pm doesn’t count. As it was closed! Lights on, staff in there, but closed! The first 2 visits were almost identical. The lesson learnt is don’t go to the drive thru. On both occasions I had to wait for at least 10 minutes for my food. I could almost forgive this if the restaurant was busy, but it wasn’t. There are 2 waiting bays and about 5 cars waiting. It’s probably the slowest fast food in the country. The 2nd time I went there I asked for the double quarter pounder. Only to get home after my frustrating wait to find they had given me a single one. Avoid at all costs.

This is one of our favourite stops on our way south. Now they serve breakfast until 11am and we were able to have a breakfast wrap with our coffee. Please introduce this in your other restaurants.

We visited for a quick stop for our young boys, the food took 20mins, the longest wait for fast food ever! On top the manager was super rude, no manners at all, no thanks for waiting or sorry for taking so long. He even forgot the fruit bags in the kids mea that is ordered, then he said they didn’t do them but managed to find some! Awful!

Very very poor service, drive through became blocked with cars 7-8 waiting for their orders. Couple vehicles found spaces in the carpark but the rest ended up blocking drive through, having been asked to move to waiting area which only has 2 spaces. Duty manager seemed uninterested in the chaos. Found paper in my quarter pounder, and the double cheese burger was wrapped up as a chicken burger.

Wow what happened to the good old fast food mcdonalds? Seriously this one was sooo slow! We were halfway through a journey and my husband needed to stop, so I got out to walk our dog whilst he went to get chips and drinks, 15 minutes it took!! Ridiculous. The waiting bays were all full of people waiting for food, so much so that people were waiting in the road because the bays were full. The seats were all full outside so I stood next to the bin waiting but had to move as the bin was full and surrounded by wasps. Drinks ok, cold chips, avoid unless you are desperate!

The burger was cold, the fries luke warm and drowned in salt, even the apple pie was stone cold and that is an achievement and ironic at the same time.

Opted for a drive thru for a quick and easy option on the go. Had to park up and wait ages for the order.... there was me thinking it would be piping hot as it must be cooked fresh waiting this long. How wrong was I. Stone cold over salted limp chips which were inedible. Brown slime representing lettuce in the burger. And to top it off half the order was missing so I had to go back and go into the restaurant to sort it out. Definitely wont be making the same mistake again.

Visited a couple of time as its on route between jobs food is typical mcdonalds same as the others however its soo slow arriving in restaurant to grab a takeaway at 11:40 and arriving back at the car with food around 12:00 was similar time on the other visit i would say avoid if your in a hurry the shell garage on site does pies and rolls

We went for the drive thru as we had dogs in car. A very simple order two burgers and chips. The young man taking order kept calling me mate and kept asking me if I want a drink? one no should do. Paid and went to the next window there were no other vehicles in the drive thru. We were asked to go park up and waited for about 5 minutes, a male employee then slowly walked over to us and gave us a bag of food. Hot chips and 2 not very hot / cold burgers.

We like this McDonald's as it's on our route back from Southampton. I always find it clean and tidy. Great coffee as always

Disappointing. Cold dry chips which considering how many people were queuing is amazing. Kids are them as they were hungry but won’t bother returning to this McDonald’s again.

Being mid evening the venue was not overly busy but had various tables littered with previous dinners food not to mention ketchup everywhere on the floor. Bins were full and smelt bad. Even witnessed a lad (customer) outside put his foot in the bin to push it down to throw his rubbish away.

Ordered and repeated the order because it wasn't right when repeated back - still got it wrong. Food was fine but the service is atrocious

I can honestly say this is the worst McDonald’s I have ever visited. I have eaten here for the last 3 days and despite staff changes the service is consistently terrible. Food is often cold and is delivered with little or no interest. The self service screens failed to give receipts every time, I stood for 5 minutes at the counter waiting for someone to even acknowledge my presence. Needless to say I will not be visiting this establishment again.

One of my 'go to' McDonalds, it's close, convenient, friendly and always kept clean and tidy. Prefer the till to the 'do-it-yourself' terminal.

We often stop here as it's just off the A34. Nice and quiet on a Thursday morning in January. Refurbished with bigger ladies toilets, charging points etc.

Absolutely appalling slow slow service. There is no justification for a 40 minute wait for drive through food. It wasn't a case of volume though busy bit rather awful service and poor management. The drive through should be shut if customers are going to end up trapped in a queue for so long. No apology for the wait either.

This McDonalds is part of the Tothill Services on the A34; a Starbucks outlet being the only other place for food/drink//toilet. A typical McDonalds serving the usual fare. The Tea at £0.99 per cup is quite a bit cheaper than Starbucks and just as good. Some outside seating but right next to the entrance to the Services, so noisy and lots of fumes - from the cars and smokers!

Stopped here at 2230 or night and we was the only people inside ordering.

MacDonals burger joint what can i say cheap food served fast. Tables this time not kept clean alot of staff standing around talking to each other and no getting on with what they should be the cleanliness of the joint!!!

Twenty minutes for a drive thru, then twenty minutes for food to arrive when parked up. Staff couldn’t care less.

From entering this branch across the car park i noted that outside bins were overflowing thus lots of wrappers and empty boxes blowing about .The same can be said of floor area around tables in restaurant , paper and squashed food debris , smeared mirrors and glass etc. Upon my visit to the toilets i was shocked at the standard of cleaning , dust quite evident on many surfaces and sinks generally grubby. It gave me the impression that the area had not been cleaned properly for a number of days or maybe longer. I did look for a cleaning schedule but could not find one in prominent position if one was there.I suppose i should have complained at that point to a manager but really feel if he had used toilet or at least taken trouble in inspect then he surely would have noticed.. No complaints about what i ate or service but the afore mentioned can only serve to dent confidence in the branch and next time i will drive on to the next McDonalds , I must add that previous to this that all McDONALDS have been spotless so i am sure this is just a blip , but it was bad enough to drive me to call the issues.

There is no point commenting on McDonalds food as it is standard throughout the country.

This McDonald's has recently been refurbished but the service now is even slower than it used to be, certainly not fast food. Ordered food at the touchscreen then waited over 15 mins for it to be ready, no apologies & hardly any customers in there. The car park is now dangerous especially for little children as the zebra crossing in the middle stops with no path to walk on only a yellow hatched pathway at the back of the parking spaces so drivers need to be really aware before reversing. Very disappointing!

40 minutes in a queue of only 6 cars on 11th September, 2018. Absolutely appalling and not a word of apology or explanation from staff. Dont go there, ever!

Frequently stop here. Always good value and good taste. Under refurb at the moment but presume will increase space so be even better.

Stopped at services about three weeks ago, long queue, slow servers, bins outside overflowing but worst of all the place was full of flies. My wife pointed this out to the server who said he thought the flies were attracted by the food... so presumably it is always like that?

As the title says it is in a good location if you're on the A34 and need a quick food refuel. I've driven on this road many times and it's just so quick and easy if you want a quick bite to eat whilst travelling. The access to the drive thru is a bit cramped and there isn't much parking if you want to stop. The entrance and exit is always a bit jammed as there's not quite enough room for people to manoeuvre in and and out.

Just wanted nuggets and chips on the way home after a long day. 3 people in front who couldn't decide what they wanted..... so waited 5 minutes before my order taken. Server seemed to be the only one working and kept apologising for slow service, but other staff seemed in no hurry to do anything including, I assume, the manager with the stupid haircut who was just hanging around doing nothing to help. After waiting 15 minutes server said I need the nuggets like now, where upon someone threw the box into the collection area and said nuggets like now. "Food" no complaints, area management need to give this place a shake up, promote the server, (she knows how to work), ditch the rest. Unless you are absolutely desperate go elsewhere, like the service station, and get a sandwich I am afraid.

On my Saturday visit, the queue was out of the door, so I didn't stay. On returning the following Monday, it was very quiet. The service was OK, and my McChicken sandwich was up to the usual standard. This McD's hasn't so far been modernised, as many have, with the automatic ordering pads for card payments, so is really just an average branch of a well-known fast food chain!

Visited on Sunday 3rd June. The drive through was closed and customers were queuing through the door and outside. The staff were in no hurry to serve. The member of staff who looked like the manager decided it was a good time to take a break and sat in his car smoking and having a drink. He flicked all of his ash onto the carpark and when he finished threw his cigarette and empty cup through his window and onto the carpark. On getting out of the car he then kicked his empty cup under the adjacent car. I am totally appalled!

Stopped off here today and I'm totally appalled how a food place could be so filthy it's only 8:55 am so there really is no excuse, as for the gents toilet I seriously can't describe the state of them, told manager but didn't seem overly concerned

We went to McDonalds Tothill at just after 4.30pm on a Sunday thinking it would be a quick trip as had to rush home but how wrong could you be? Queued for 5 minutes, no problem, but after placing the order our drinks were sorted on the counter straight away but we waited over 15 minutes till the server said take a seat I'll bring your food over so the tea was stewed & the fizzy drinks flat. We then waited another 15 minutes for our meals to arrive whereupon one burger had obviously been made at the start as it was very hard & all stuck together.

From the Midlands to Southampton we always stop here (unless in the school hols) Great service and nice little Maccies. Being updated soon as doesn't have the ordering self service stations. Friendly staff member Zoe was brill

Convenient stop off on the A34; same building for north and south bound traffic. A typical McDonald's, though this one has yet to have self ordering points installed. Queues can be quite long. Overall a good place to stop for a meal and break. Quality of meals always been good for me here.

Whenever I visit I rarely get speedy service. Today it was 5.30pm and a queue of around 12 thanks to just 2 counter staff When eventually got to counter staff member was so miserable and clearly didn't enjoy his job

Spotless place & being kept that way by a lady who was senior to all the other staff on duty by several decades, if not by company status. Prompt service & fresh hot food & drinks!

Stopped off on the way to shopping. Had chicken selects which we ok the chips were hot although had to make that they were requested to be hot. The condition of the restaurant is not the best and some one wiping the trays down had a dirty cloth.

My husband and working partner stopped off here this morning at roughly 6:20am. both ordered black coffees and sausage & egg Mcmuffins. After a few minutes they both started experiencing stomach pains and vomiting!!

As if we couldn't hear her, when she handed me my order I said I did ask for it as a take away when originally ordered and she just rolled her eyes at me and walked away? Very rude

I often call into this McDonald's on the way from Southampton to Yorkshire. It's very convenient and very handy for the A34.

Called in on Saturday morning on the way to goodwood,we were told there were no hot drinks available as the delivery was due in five mins, there was five people waiting when we got in there,we waited over half hour for our order ,there was no sorry ,two people Drove away from drive through as they waited so long,we were serve before the people who were waiting when we got in there and guess what no delivery turned up despite the lad on the till telling four more people that they had no hot drinks and the delivery was turning up in five mins ...

Every time we have drive through they miss items how difficult can it be to read an order - they have a real training and management issues - if you ever use them check before you drive off or use the one by the retail park

The chicken was fried in the chip fryer! We sent 3 spicy mayo chicken meals back as they seemed cooked but we're rock solid they were rushing around giving people wrong orders!
