Well its fast food. Kids enjoyed it, myself not so much. Seems to be a lot of money for poor quality food. It was busy, the tables and floor not the cleanest.

Absolutely terrible Food was good, what was received. Main part of order missing and didn't realise until we were already on route.

Typical McDonald's, food was nice, please was clean and staff friendly.

Terrible service. Drive thru service was "what you want?!" Complained to manger Eben, he paid lip service apology only, escalating it because it was uncalled for just for asking price of apple pie and a coffee! But made 2nd trip for the apple pie after he already gave me lip for the coffee then asked for hot choc instead (but machine is broken all over York this week, ridiculous!). Nothing on board and wouldn't let me check price on hand machine, barely offering it close enough to me saying "oh your on one today aren't you?!" all I was saying was "just give me what I want without his chat so I can get on" and "stop giving me attitude n just do your job!" then told him he's crazy cos he was! Talking to customers like that the 2nx trip round was too much so I put in my complaint this time. Disgusting. He wouldn't give me his name, not surprised should be ashamed to!!

Best Maccies in the uk but only on Fridays when Helen is there, she is absolutely lovely and helps when she can with issues, but not her team and the rest of the staff, I can see poor Helens got her work cut out with some unruly kids who can be quite forgetful and not very helpful.

Great McDonalds very nice fries not sloppy like most places the staff was very polite

The last three times going here service has been ridiculously slow. Whether you go in to order or use the drive thru makes no difference. They didn't have what we wanted so had to settle for something different then sat in the drive thru queue for 20 minutes to get food that we didn't even really want in the first place.

Forgot coffee from order cold chips not even warm the also forgot ice cream then vanished before I could ask for sauce ,sugar,stir er and serviet Al together, the worst I've been in The staff need retraining or even some training Terrible place

Waited 25 minutes, they realized no one had done our order. I asked what was going on, told it would be a few more minutes. Was given the bags and drinks etc, get to the car set off , one of the kids realized they didn't have their food, turned around and went back, went up to the counter where not 1 not 2 not 3 but 4 members of staff ignored me, I blurted out "is anyone working?" The manager and a staff member looked over before ignoring me and carrying on with their conversation. The manager then was about to just walk by and leave before I stopped him and voiced my complaint "Eben" shouldn't be working in management, a total lack of interest and an attitude problem, not so much as an apology, terrible attitude from majority of the customer facing staff with the exception of one, there was one more mature lady who was friendly and helpful with another customer who had an issue.

Received the wrong order. Staff not really bothered.

We came at a peak time and had to wait 30 mins for service. Not the best McD we’ve been to. They take need to separate outside delivery services because they always get preference having pre ordered.

Popped in for a drink and use the toilets while we were travelling home from holiday.

Very slow service despite not being busy, staff seemed to be rushing around then to top it all off watched the guy putting orders together (middle-aged, glasses, slim grey haired wearing a short-sleeved grey shirt) constantly coughing on his own hands and onto receipts.

Went for a mcdonalds at midnight, it was quiet but food was decent, restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was refreshing. No issues.

Not fast food also it looked like my burger had been dropped multiple times. If I wasn't hungry I would of just walked out

Usual British way of trying to do American service; badly. Forgot my order until I complained then didn't even apologise. Soulless atmosphere, no regard to the environment (not even any attempt at recycling).

If you're getting any fries, get them in a takeaway bag, unless you're happy to be eating them off a dirty tray. Be prepared that your burger might be slightly spicy as I got a McCrispy and it was quite spicy so must have been cooked with some spicy food

The oil needs to be changed more often, not just topped up (as I have a great feeling that they are doing on this site to cut the costs). Is so obvious that it is even smelling like old oil from outside (car park). None of the VAT receipt 🧾 printers are not working for at least 26 days and counting (maybe is hoping to do not issue VAT receipt to avoid paying taxes, who knows). In rest, clean, nice staff 5* but 2* for the management of this premise.

Stopped here twice on the way to Whitby, this branch of McDonalds really shows what it can be like, the food was hot and really tasty. Will stop here again if going past.

It's a McDonald's. You get what you expect and what you pay for. Car park is quite tight.

McDonald’s staff often makes mistakes in your order. They should make additional entrance for food delivery guys, sometimes you can’t get to counter because there is so many of them waiting in a massive queue with their big dirty delivery bags 🤮

I thought i would re review after a year. Nothing had changed. We had food this time but the tabels were still dirty so opted to eat in the car. Meals had toys missing. Food was luke warm at best. Original Review The place us dirty. Orders upon orders queuing up and the staff just stood around. 20 minutes for two coffees. Didn't even have food.

Used drive through. No condiments (sauces etc) in the bag. Not presented well when opened. But it is quick food through a drive through.

All great, food hot, service quick even though it was really busy.

Really busy - huge queues and basics like bins inside the restaurant were overflowing with rubbish. Also unable to get fries with no salt - told they were too busy to do this...

Food was awful, made me get food poisoning. One of the workers scoffed at me when I said it was awful, some weird things on the chips too. I advise you not to come here, awful workers, awful food.

All inside bins badly overflowing with no sign of anyone attempting to sort in the 30mins we were there, despite it not seeming that busy. Only one patty given in the philly stack, had to take back and sort, order took so long to come the coffee had clearly been sat there ages and was cold. It was maybe a one off but it was a bit of a shambles tonight.

Out of the 4 McDonald's in the York area, this is one of the best in terms of food quality, temperature, service time and customer service. McDonald's is McDonald's.... You know what to expect each time. But here the food is served hot, no hassle, order is always fulfilled and served in a good time.

Very average mcdonalds experience but is conisistent in service apart from the drive-thru which will take ages

Check what you are charged, versus the price advertised! We had a drink charged for that shoukd have been included in the meal. Felt like a policy. Didn't get a refund. Manager told me to blame the government!

For Christ sake is it that hard to put KETCHUP in the delivery when it's on the order and not bbq sauce or nothing at all. How incompetent can they be to keep getting this wrong.

My friend got shouted at and swore at, food took over half an hour even though we were the only ones in the restaurant. Lack of management

Let down by the drive through...one manager Inside, doing his best to ensure everything went well ..he was amazing...

Stop in that this McDonald's occasionally after a night shift, the staff are always very good, in particular Christine who really goes above and beyond, very kind and makes my night better even if I've had a bad one! The food is always a good standard and quick.

Poor service. Waited 15 /20 mins for 3 breakfast wraps and sausage and egg macmuffins. To find we were 1 short. Then waited ages for the missing wrap.

Just been again was a good one before but got an order came home to find there was food missing so rang them spoke to a manager who said they would make another one when I got there they gave me the original one they had forgotten to pack so it was cold will never go back again would rather burn my money at least it would be warm AVOID

Quick easy, friendly service just what you want when visiting.

Drive through on way home. Super fast service and best McDonald's we've ever had! Food all hot chips perfectly salted. Both plain burgers actually were plain! Nothing under or over cooked! They absolutally nailed it! Nice one guys!

The girl that took my order on drive through was lovely then all went down hill from there no sauces with 20 nuggets didn't give me my mcflurrys for the kids looked at me like I was stupid when I asked for them just poor customer service

McDonalds.... dependable at almost any time.

Waited 25 mins for one breakfast wrap and two hot drinks. They forgot the latte. Waited more and they still didn't come out with it so we drove off

To be honest, every McDonald's is serving cold food ,burnt burgers, and burnt buns getting a bit shit now burger king all the way more fresh and hot

I use this Macdonald's as all the others get every single order I've had wrong it's a busy Macdonald's because of a64 but cleaner and pleasant happy staff

Great value food, excellent variety. Food only warm not hot hence 4 stars, atmosphere 4 stars, different approach needed. Fast service, a positive experience overall. Reliable good value quality food outlet.

Food was ok but the service was horrific, we didn’t get a straw and wanted a few sauces so we went up to the counter where we were ignored for 10 minutes by multiple staff who just stared at us from inside the kitchen. One young girl had a stinking attitude and actually out loud asked her colleagues “what are they waiting for?” so we could hear - she still didn’t come up to ask. Extremely rude and not what you expect from someone who works face to face with customers.

Everything was cold. We was the first people in there. Stood there for 25 minutes while the female manager who was supposed to be sorting our order was chatting away with someone in the drive through, terrible McDonald's

Ran by total mongs. Not a clue how to run a restaurant. Potentially the worst in the UK

It's OK for a quick bite, but when did McDonald's get expensive. Restaurant was busy, food was slow and nearly cold and the building not so clean. I think I'll try give it a miss if I have a choice.

We waited 30 minutes to get served and we didn't we had to go thr the next window to tell them and they denied it all

the food is good when they actually get your order right. It’s meant to be fast food but you will be waiting ages to get your meal because of busy the place always seems to be.

We live locally and this is well known as one of the worst McDonald’s around. The food is often cold. Twice the bread on the burgers has been stale (one time it had mould and we complained). Large fries always half a carton. And inside is ALWAYS filthy, cold, and the bins over flowing. We’ve had enough of coming here and will go elsewhere. Shame, as it’s close. I don’t understand how a McDonald’s can be so consistently bad. 0/10. Desperately needs new ownership/management.

I had ordered a single terrys chocolate orange pie for collection on the app and I had to wait over 15 minutes. Atleast the person serving me was nice

Food was ok although the filet o fish was tiny!!. Staff looked like they hadn't slept for a week,no go whatsoever. The milkshake was a really thick ice-cream that by time it had defrosted looked like curds and whey..awful!!

My wife who is diabetic ordered a chicken salad., drive through. She received a crispy chicken salad. She could not eat the chicken as the bread crumbs would be her daily allowance of carbs. The salad looked poor and had no dressing.

Called yesterday 17/11/24 on way to leeds we often call when going to west Yorkshire as a stop off and a break not the cleanest of places the bins were overflowing and rubbish on floor just ordered a coffee it took ages the toilets weren't to bad but when I go there I notice a lot of people take orders back because they are wrong they are very slow needs a good shake up come on McDonald's see to it

Twice I’ve been to this McDonald’s and twice now it’s been terrible, burger looked like it had been slapped together by a blind man. Chips weee cold and stale and they made my friend wait 20 minutes for a cheeseburger and fries. Shocking

App constantly failed to complete. Paying directly order failed to show on screen. Eventually paid but had to also pay for a reward ordered as no longer on app, then had to wait for order to be completed, all through drive through, a complete nightmare

Was very busy, but service was fast and food was hot, correct, which was an amazing experience 😀. Clean tables, no litter, so actually very good end to a busy driving day for me.

Called in for coffee on our way home, very busy but the staff polite and nice, my coffee was just over like warm, I wished I had tasted it before setting off, dissatisfied

20 minutes at the drive through before getting to the pay window! Never had such poor service at a drive through McDonald's. It wasn't that there was a huge queue of cars either. It became thar way obviously in the 25 minutes we waited for food.

Looking great after the refurbishment. Table service is a nice touch too. Much better experience than queueing out the door like before.

Lately, it seems like portions are getting smaller and the expenses are getting bigger. I'd rather spend the money to go to a restaurant for dinner.

Crap.....every time is disappointing. Either cold food or missing food or not made well...GO TO BURGER KING INSTEAD !!!

I’m not usually a McDonald’s fan and go with low expectations. I was very surprised with my visit. Staff were polite and helpful, it was clean (even with being busy), food was hot and fresh, all my order was correct and didn’t even have to wait for a long time like I normally do at a McDonalds. If other McDonalds could take some training and direction from this branch it would be great. Well done to all the staff at this McDonalds - you’ve made me realise that there are still some good McDonalds out there.

Don't bother eating in restaurant - waited 15 mins for food to arrive as they prioritise drive through and simply forget about customers inside

Decided to grab a bite to eat after a long journey at around 9pm on Saturday night. The place wasn't busy and there was only a short queue at the drive through. I could see they had a mountain of chips already made and sat under the heat lamps. My order took around 15 minutes. The orders were coming out so slowly, and none of the staff seemed to be in a rush. The food was the most disappointing food I've ever had from a McDonalds in the UK. The chips were cold and were like cardboard. They had obviously been fried at least a few hours earlier. The mozzarella dippers were cold, and the cheese inside had hardened. The quarter pounder burger to my delight was hot, but was so incredibly salty. It tasted like it had been salted three times, it was absolutely disgusting. I don't think I would ever consider returning to this branch after this visit.

Not a great Maccys at all. The drive thru is always heaving - I tend to use the deliver to car option after ordering on the app but this is often very slow, I actually had to go in and ask for my order. Car park is often strewn with litter and have previously seen rats in the car park.

The staff are always polite and friendly and always get the order right.

I found it disgusting that Butterfield work men were walking in and out of the kitchen area with dirty work clothes on where food was being prepared

The food was lush and the big mac sauce was above my expectations. The cheese melted onto my tongue like a jigsaw puzzle falling into place. Just splendid! Simply delicious! However, as always, every McDonald's has its flaws and in this case I was left crying and shaking at the state of the restaurant. You could see the distain on my face when I saw a McDonalds baby chair staring at me and smiling menacingly with its deep fried lips. To my upmost delight, the servers at this establishment almost brought me to tears with their amazing help and love and care and just overall positive wellbeing!! God Bless This Mcdonalds!!

Hot food, lovely staff! After a horrendous experience at a McDonald’s in Manchester a few months ago which almost put us off for life this was such a lovely reminder at how much we love McDonald’s - comfort food!

The only macdonalds that charge for tube of simple ketchup. Staff are very rude 😒
