McDonalds, Colorado Way in Wakefield

Ordered off uber eats chips were stone cold and undercooked the delivery was delayed by nearly an hour ordered milkshake but apparently it "turned off" which is a lie as it never ever works absolutely disappointed.

Every time we have been to the McDonald’s we have been asked to park up and wait for the food no matter how busy it is. The staff are inattentive and do not show any interest. The food is always cold even though we have to wait for the food. The milkshake and McFlurry machine never seems to work and most of the time the orders are wrong or you’re waiting for “fast food”, so the claim of fast food is pointless.

i was VERY dissapointed with the way me and my 5 friends were treated by staff at macdonalds, we were having a normal teenage discussion about school. this conversation then resulted in us being kicked out. we do not understand what we did wrong, they spoke to us very rudely and it upset each and every one of us. i am shocked at how we were spoken to, they continued to tell us off for our language (we said nothing wrong or rude). the 2 staff who spoke to us were very rude and spoke to us as we were nothing. i think we were discriminated because of our age, this is a protected characteristic under the law and any type of discrimination against one of these is against the law. i am very dissapointed.

me and my friends were severely disrespected after going to macdonalds as we were kicked out for no actual reason, we felt disrespected and unfairly treated we simply asked what the problem was and we was rudely dissmised all 5 of us this is extremely unfair and discriminatory because of our age. the workers were rude and unfair

Like usual the food was amazing No McFlurry’s though As the I gave it 4 stars here is my reason : as it is normally wet and slippy out in the UK,this McDonalds has placed a mat ( like to wipe your feet on ) this is very good. However, the mat does not span the who floor space causing me to slip.

Ordered from just eat, like, how hard is it to read a ticket and put items in a bag? Half the food missing, drinks missing, dips missing, stone cold food & soggy chips! Rang to let them know and got told they “have a problem with the delivery guys so take it up with just eat” - worst service & food ever

Order a very basic cheese burger and fries took 10minutes and it was cold only 4 people in so wasn't even busy rubbish

I come here quite often with my friends and always enjoy the experience. My order is always accurate, the fries are hot, the staff are polite and friendly and the service is quick. I will continue to visit often.

Never been to such a disgusting Mac Donald’s No milkshakes more staff than the star ship enterprise yet the cold food still took nearly 15 mins we had to walk the restaurant twice as the table surfaces were disgusting Whilst May I add two team leaders stood gossiping Had to ask for straws for drinks Food was thrown after two min cold and un edible will not be returning

JAKE DESERVES A RAISE!!!! I came through the drive through and came into trouble when I dropped my food as it came through the window, he made sure he could fix it all for me within not even 10 minutes we had all our food back brought out to us by himself. Not only so helpful but just a seriously kind soul.

Absolutely shocking. Waited 40 mins for a drive through order! Never experienced anything like it at any other McD’s. What’s worse.. cold food when it arrived, no dips, wrong order of veggie dippers rather than veggie bags! Absolute worst service ever. It was hugely apparent that there was a constant stream of Just Eat and deliveroo and they were a priority! Will never ever return.

Probably the worst McDonalds in 5 towns, the most dry burger I’ve ever ate, definitely off to pontefract one where they make it fresh and not kept under the basking lamp for about 3 week

Got a delivery with 20 nuggets and they sent zero dips, can't get in touch with them to kick off so doing it here, there is a reason I tell my kids if they don't work hard they will end up at McDonald's cos your employees are thick as fck...20 dry nuggets to now try and eat. Me and my family went into castleford mc restaurant last night and was highly disappointed with the mannerism of all the staff inside the restaurant! Including 2 supposed managers…. One manager was names Jess as she had a name tag on the other was a young lass also and would not disclose her name!! What happened was we had ordered over £40 worth of food and was stood happily waiting for it. we saw a time sheet on the side and was playing guess the lasses name she was rude at this point told us we had to step away from the paper ( it’s a peace of paper if it was important it shouldn’t of been on the shop floor for everyone to see) we said sorry and continued to wait for our food my partner took a drag of his ecig without thinking ( yes he was in the wrong) but at this she marched over to us told us we wasn’t having our food and slammed our money back at us he apologised for it but nothing just rude disrespectful behaviour from not one but 2 managers !! I asked her why she couldn’t just say you can’t smoke that in here but no! Even threatened to ring the police on us!! Bizarre behaviour if you ask me I live in Castleford and from now on I will be driving to other McDonald’s as I felt so embarrassed there people skills need a really good look at I actually work In the food industry my self and I would never treat my customers in the way I was treated in your restaurant many thanks This is the email I’ve also sent to McDonald’s them self….. it was shocking how we got treated

This is a restaurant that puts Uber eats ahead of actual restaurant customers and then gets the order completely wrong every time, greasy spoon would be better and the customer service would at least be polite. Personally I think they need to get back to basics, absolutely rubbish. I will not be bothering ever again.

We call regular at tbe drive thru for our disabled son. Every time without fail, the chips are cold. I dont understsnd why they cant get them hot. They must make them, then leave to go cold before dishing them up.They regularly get the order wrong also.Really is unbelievable, as there are other reviews complaining of cold chips.I guess they make so much money that they dont care

The food came and I ordered a vanilla milkshake which didn’t just come out all watery it came with chocolate strawberry and vanilla like they had just put a bit of each in it and tasted absolutely disgusting! The fries were freezing cold! Everything tasted like it had just been warmed up! Missing dips as always! Safe to say I don’t think I will be ordering from this one again!

My order went straight in the bin when I got home. I had asked for the breakfast roll but without egg, then I was asked what sauce I’d like, so I asked to have it without sauce. I then asked for an extra hash brown with my meal. Order came, with egg, and brown sauce, both of which I don’t like and specifically asked not to have, but the best bit was there was no extra hash brown either, so I paid £5.38 for a latte and a hash brown. They never put dips in when you ask, and you’re almost made to feel bad for asking for sugar for your coffee because they’ve just stopped asking if you want any. I’ve literally wasted my money this morning and I wouldn’t usually write a review but it’s happened on several occasions now.

The worst McDonalds in the world, only use it as it is local and convenient and the kids like it. Every single time the order is wrong. Never get given dips that are requested, usually get coke instead of diet coke and when asking for breakfast muffin with no egg, it is now a family joe that i will be taking it back when it arrives with egg. Visit through pressure from the kids and can honestly say in the last 10 visits not once has the order been totally correct. it is a challenge now to keep coming until they get it right. Not sure who showed the staff how to assemble a burger but my cat could do better, however if you like the toppings mostly in the wrapper and the cheese half in and half out, this is the place to go.

Absolutely terrible. Forgot one of our bacon rolls.They were hard and dry, no ketchup even though we asked for some.The sausage and egg McMuffin (with no egg as requested) had no sausage either!Cappuccino was half a cup. No napkins in the bag.Everything we ordered was barely wrapped up, it looked like someone had rummaged through them. We will not be going back to McDonald’s for breakfast again but this was by far the worst McDonald’s we have been to!

You cannot really knock McDonalds for fast service and food, but the issue with this one is the location, smack bang on a roundabout going in to a major shopping outlet, a ski zone and cinema complex, next door to Pizzahut, B&Q entrance and over the road from KFC, the traffic is chaos all day everyday.

I think the drivers need to be more experienced because they dropped all my nuggets little flumpers. When i went to go complain the drivers flipped me off and drove away before i got to have some words with him, his rusty car was so loud he woke up the neighbors baby. Poor thing!!

Two young lads on the door sorted out my complaints and were very fast in getting me my missing items, an overall fast visit with staff taking up my complaints with care and consideration

Got a drive through meal live less than 5 mins away and it was absolutely stone cold and we had to re heat them and it was disgusting.

Although it’s reasonably fast it’s a lucky dip with your order! There’s always something missing or the order is wrong. It’s never in your favour though. Order and pay for double quarter pounder but get a quarter pounder. Order large fries, get regular fries. Always upset kids and noway I’m driving all the way back. I’m sick of this it’s like they do it for a laugh

Fancied a milkshake while passing esxape McDonald's. Not busy at all at the drive through!! Asked for a strawberry milkshake. Not a surprise NO MILKSHAKES!! Asked at next window why girl said "it's broken!! the machine is ALWAYS BROKEN. Get this ongoing problem sorted. It is not a one off it is everytime I go for a milkshake. I think it is just lazy staff who can't be ar..d to do the job properly !!!!!!!!!!!!See other reviews that say the same.

I think this McDonald’s needs to clean there machine when it’s not peak times, it seems the machine is constantly being cleaned and no matter when you go there answer is always we are not doing McFlurrys at the minuet or the machine is being cleaned. Getting frustrating now the last 8 times we have been it’s the same tag line. Needs fixing!!

Up front I have to admit I don’t particularly like the food from McDonalds, however I love their milkshakes. Incredibly frustrating to wait in a long queue only for them to not serve milkshakes. If there are no milkshakes please make it clear before you spend 15minutes in a queue.

The way the managers and other staff members treat eachother is absolutely disgusting. Undermining and patronising eachother over a small mistake and other things. It's no place to work

Used the drive thru to order four hot drinks. We were served quickly and I changed my mind on my drink and the server dealt with the order amendment kindly and efficiently. When paying I was asked how many sugars and milks I wanted (I know this may sound trivial but sometimes you get given nothing) which was great. The drinks came quickly and the order was correct. Couldn’t fault it at all.

The 1 star rating is maybe harsh as the staff were really helpful but the experience through the drive thru almost left me traumatised.Given the offers through January for using the McDonalds app I’ve been using that. Unfortunately, it’s absolute pants and doesn’t enhance the experience at all.Our order couldn’t be found and when you’re holding the drive thru traffic up it was horrid.Some of the order was wrong with pickles on burgers when none were required.For a company the size of Mac Donald’s, they should do better.

Just called at 2pm on a Tuesday afternoon for a strawberry milkshake. Pulled up at left hand side. A voice came on just wait 2 minutes! I waited. A car came to right hand side and lo and behold got served straight away!! I still waited. Yet another car came up to right hand side and again got served!!! Hello I'm still waiting. Pipped my horn and somebody asked what I wanted. A large strawberry milkshake!! Sorry no shakes today!!!!!! How ridiculous or lazy can you get for a McDonald's not to have a milkshake. Is it because they cant be bothered. Jesus christ get a grip and sort this McDonald's out . Will not bother going there again.

How hard can it be really! Asked for Two bacon rolls with brown sauce, i only got one with red sauce and a sausage and egg muffin! With a hash brown i didnt ask for, fanta with ice in and i asked for no ice, come on management sort these student but wipes out. Not only was I STARVING when I finished work but I was also worn out so I thought I’d treat myself to a McDonald’s! Could tell the staff were in training but I didn’t even get asked if I wanted sauce / as meals or not (I assumed they were meals) and they got my order wrong,gave me NORMAL NUGGETS not spicy ones! I want to try the spicy ones!!!!! eating my nuggets disappointingly in bed

In the period 1984/85 a certain trade union leader decided to call a general miners strike without consulting the membership and took on the might of Mrs Thatchter and the democratically elected government.The ultimate negative conclusion of this unnecessary politically motivated battle was the closure of all coal mining pits and the destruction of some communities with relevant financial hardship and warring families.The big positive however was that all such areas became cleaner and a healthier place to live.One such mining town is Castleford in West Yorkshire and on the site of one of its many pits ,Glasshoughton,has risen 'Xscape'.It is a mecca for shopping, dining ,car dealerships and skiing,Yes, an indoor ski slope replaces the coal slags!'McDonalds' is the first port of call when entering and it was there we decided to have our usual breakfast meal.First favourable impressions were of the very friendly service and excellent cleanliness.The food was of the usual standard also.Next time we are in the area I shall make point of revisiting as now there is-"NO TASTE OF COAL !'

I’m a regular at Maccies and often pop into one if I’m out and about on my motorbike. I was able to enjoy table service and the food came promptly and my order was correct and hot.Unfortunately, I hadn’t figured on visiting at school closing time. Wow it was a bit too noisy for my liking and maybe some would benefit from parenting classes.I’ve scored it 3 stars as it was ok. It wasn’t amazing and I’m not sure that ‘I’m loving it’

Chicken salad was ridiculously small, bigmac meal dry as desert, you order toffe latte and you get black coffee, terrible!

My family and I stopped briefly following a visit to diggerland. It seemed clean, was busy, but the food was prompted delivered to the table and hot. Spoke briefly to the staff who were helpful and listened intently. I couldn’t ask for more. Toilets were clean unlike many McDonalds I have visited recently. One of the better franchises around :)

Hubby called for me 2 mayo chicken burgers. Absolutely ages waiting then told to wait in car park. Apparently every body had to wait as wait for it.......no staff!! Eventually brought out to car but then lad said oh it's not your order and disappeared. Came back again and said yes it's your order!!! Of course by this time they were both freezing.

No chicken ledgen so settled for a mc chicken has to wait 10/15 mins in car park should have gone inside might have been quicker then when food came chips freezing no need

Usually use Pontefract Park Road , tonight we used the Glasshoughton one, never again. Staff so rude on drive through ,got order wrong then corrected it, went to pay she never said how much it was or thank you next window please, went to next window for food, no thanks again. Chips were clap cold. One strip was warm the others were like warm. Not appetising at all. Will definitely stick to the Pontefract store at least the staff know manners.

Quality is like all other McD's - take that as you will. However this place really needs to work on their drive thru. It's always like a traffic jam

So as the title describes this is how cold the food was, yes I went through a drive through and drove about 5-7 minutes. This was an issue as even at that timescale the food would be at least warm.

As this is our nearest Maccies I can often be found popping in. As I haven’t reviewed it in a while I thought I’d provide an updated view. Summary in case you have a short attention span: it was okay. Arrived at the order point to be greeted straight away and my order was taken efficiently and accurately. Paid at the next window then collected at the last window with my food order confirmed together with confirmation of the dips I’d ordered. 3 stars given as it was okay. Did anything stand out? No.

Visited Wednesday 12 September at 4.30pm. Restaurant was spotlessly clean, food was good, hot, and delivered to the table quickly by smart,polite staff members. Table cleared quickly.

After a little shopping trip we stopped at McDonald's today. I had Big Mac and wife chicken wrap. Chips arrived first stone cold, then the main food stone cold. By this time we had sent the chips back which returned stone cold again .

Collected food from the drive through but when we got home one of the cheeseburgers was cold and the Mcflurrys were almost melted. Usually not this bad so we will try again before we stop going there altogether.

Called at 11.10 approx. Ordered big Mac and chips with Apple pie and ice cream. Paid for it then went to collect my meal to be told to wait in car park again . This has happen the last 3 times I have there .the wait was 15 mins .

My good friend Bart visited this joint with his mother in law last week, after a lovely fish and chip dinner they wanted an ice cream, after waiting 20 mins at the drive through they were both in tears to find out the ice cream machine wasn't working, to rub salt into the wounds they were stuck In the drive through queue watching people dining inside slurping on ice creams and mcflurrys

Often visit McDonalds around the county in between appointment to purchase food and drink whilst working on laptop. Majority of McDonalds have plenty of plug sockets to plug the laptop into. Castleford have.....1. And this currently being used by a McDonald's worker discussing staff rotation etc. Really annoying! Get more sockets.

Second weekend in a row called for a ice cream for mum. Sat in drive-thru que for 10mins to get to front to be told "we have no ice-cream"At last window asked to speak to manager to ask why no sign or member if staff to inform no ice-cream to prevent customers from queing thru drive-thru, was told to park up and a supervisor would come talk to me when they had a minute.

I am not one for reviewing fast food, it fills a need and that's fine. Just don't bother here, there were hundreds of people, long queues and the food cold, the soft drinks flat with no ice. I would have complained but there were fifty people in the queue so I didn't bother. What a poor example of macs

As title says, that much que both in and out couldn't get out of car park due to cars lined up waiting for staff to bring order to car when they had been through the drive through.the exit to car park was lined up with cars waiting. Staff inside seemed polite, it's not the fault of staff, but the queuing is horrific, don't know if new system for ordering inside is making a bad situation worse, I suspect it is. As you que to order then que again to RECIEVE order, way to much to keep sain. Anyway I normally drive to Pontefract if grand kids ask for a McDonald's, unfortunately this week it was closed, due to alter it to same system as glasshoughton, oh no that's not good news. Think I need to train kids to abandon MacDonald altogether, wish people would refuse to wait for their order in car park, I have done, anyway its quicker to go home and put pan on stove, Morrison hot counter do chicken dippers chips etc, taste better to.

I decided to try the new all singing dancing mc Donald's at the xscape castleford We visited the lovely modern restaurant at a busy tea time This restaurant has a new style ordering system on large screens which was proving popular I chose to attend the counter I was served by a young lady called Emily who explained about the evening meals clearly displayed on a large screen above the counter showing pictures of the items I chose the New American chicken Now I have drunk coffee at lots of restaurants but McDonald's is the best taste thirst quenching hot freshly made lasts through the whole meal The restaurant was busy but there was plenty of room and the customers were enjoying their food all the customers were eating without any noisy people I enjoyed my meal the coffee is to die for its so fresh The toilets were immaculate The new McDonald's has open plan kitchen you can see your food being prepared I have visited this restaurant every day for a week and every meal has been memorable The manager I deal with is Michell who never gets flustered and the staff all love her Thank you mc Donald's

I'm a frequent visitor to this McDonald's and its always been very good but just recently it's gone down the pan. Some of the newer staff just seem rude and don't even possess basic manners. It used to run efficiently with little queuing on the drive through but now it's just rubbish. Thankfully there's Pontefract McDonald's just up the road so that's where I'm going. Sorry Ronald but you're no longer making me smile

Went last week ordered through the drive in had to wait 20 mins for meals in car park then i started eating my food on way home then realised i had a dog hair in my chips put me off and wasted my meal as i wouldnt eat it after finding that in my chips absolutely disgusting will not go there again after that

this place gets very busy when attractions in Xscape start and finish, they try hard to keep up and generally do a good job, things get a lot quicker and friendly when they are not so busy.

Terrible service. Waited 25 minutes in the drive thru for 2 Lattes as the car in fronts order was wrong, Not once, But 3 times.

Arriving at the drive thru late at night, on the way home from a wedding at which I had polished off four bottles of wine, I was in need of a cheap and easy bite to satisfy my drunken cravings for greasy food, and hopefully avert the worst of hangovers the following morning. McDonald's in Glasshoughton would do just the trick. Conveniently located just moments from Junction 32 of the M62 I opted for the vegi deli and large fries (yes, even we vegetarians like to dabble in fast food from time to time). What I recall of the service was quick, and the food lasted the ten mile ride home.

...is not the answer. Called in today against my better judgement and was disappointed - again. The trick used to to order te Quarter Pounder with Cheese meal without ketchup and it was made especially, guaranteed to be hot. Not any more. Despite their protestations that each grill is made to order they are not. This cannot be done in ninety seconds. What they do is stock pile em and then keep em warm. It's not the same. I want my food hot.

Ordered a sausage and egg Mcmuffin to go. Joined M62 motorway in less than two minutes, wife complained the sandwich was not hot enough (stockpiling again) and the hash brown was solid, overcooked.

Quick service, friendly staff both for drive through and inside. Nice to see the manager actually sweeping and mopping too. A good mc Donald's stop!

Even after telling them many many times they simply can not deliver an ice cream in hot weather that isn't half melted!I have now taken to ordering at the drive through and stating don't make it until I'm at the window but even that doesn't seem to work!I appreciate its busy but just a simple ice cream cone shouldn't be this difficult!

We are regular visitors to this McDonalds more often than not with our Granddaughters.The service is very good and there is now a table service in certain areas.The place is always clean as there are really nice ladies going round constantly cleaning the tables.I have two small gripes. The parking area is very small so we tend to park in the large car park in junction 32 over the road and walk over. Also the milkshake machine is often not working which does not go down well with our Granddaughters. All In all a good Mcdonalds.

We all know what we are going to get at McD's but the standard of service can be abysmal. Fortunately the staff at this branch seem to have got their act together and the service is quite good. The food is to the expected standard and the place is spotless. The only gripe is the carpark is far too small and tight. Give it a try, just don't be surprised if you struggle to park.

As our local mcdonalds we are frequent visitors but on our trip today I was left rather disappointed when I got home to realise my sauce was missing, after craving sweet chilli sauce all day. Very unhappy but service was speedy!

There are several local McDonalds but I'd always recommend this one as its owned by McDonalds directly and not a franchise like many of the other local stores. This usually means that the standards of service are the best, and they also are the first to receive the new equipment and products. It's a busy store but they are usually really efficient with quick service. Enjoy.

This macdonalds is one of the new style restaurants In addition to the usual large range of hot food prepared to order you can place your order at cash machines in house on a large display and pay avoiding Queing An this super store is one of the first to have table service bringing it into the twenty first century All the food is hot and fresh and heathyWe enjoyed our meal freshly prepared by polite staff one of whomIs special called Michelle A closing point is the coffee is the best in the area Thankyou Mc Donald's

Cleaning and then instantly served without washing hands etc. Rude when serving started laughing and treated us like we were stupid. Didn't give us the same service we saw everyone else get.

I visited McDonald's Glasshoughton yesterday with a friend and we were both greeted by a lovely lady named Candise, smiling and asking us how we were. She was friendly, polite and very helpful to other customers too. Just wanted to highlight how genuinely nice and good at her job she was, as someone whom has worked in a fast food restaurant I know customer complaints are easily written and praise from customers can be rare but this lady should be recognised as she is a credit to your store. Also the food was great as always.

Taking a wheelchair into a restaurant is difficult but the serving staff offered to carry the food and drinks to my selected table outside and another member of staff came to wipe down seats and offer further assistance . McDonald's food was as usual staff were excellent , well done .

We came here as a Saturday trip and the results were just shocking!The service was really slow and the place was so crowded that to begin wit, we didn't even know where the start of the queue was!The 'order then collect' idea was just bad. So many people were crowded around the collection point, waiting! And when our order wasAfter we'd got our food, find a table was just astonishing! There was no spare tables anywhere. The face painting table could have been used for a table, knowing there was a rush!The when we eventually found a table, the staff was quick in clearing it down for us as soon as we sat down.The food was quite good actually.Overall, I wouldn't recommend visiting when it looks busy inside.

Word of warning...never go on a Saturday as it can take half an hour to get out the car park! Such a poorly laid out place that always ends up with a traffic jam outside on a weekend. The problem seems to come from all b&q traffic as well as pizza hut and macdonalds filtering onto the same small road just before the roundabout. We went on a Saturday and spent 30 minutes just getting out onto that road from the car park. As well as that the food service was so slow.

Stopped off as really hungry and drive through was really quiet now i know why the burger i had had a limp piece of lettuce 5 pieces of anemic gurkin, a piece fo cardboard ( supposed to be a burger) definately left a impact on me - not to go again

It's good for kids and the food is always good,there are some computers on one table which i feel is good when they've finished their meal but i think it's a distraction when eating.Staff good and a clean McDonalds.

A friend asked to meet up for quick lunch. Car park is small with few parking spaces and poor layout. Restaurant itself is tiny. Some of the seats are huge sofas which look totally out of place and difficult to manoeuvre in order to get on them. Service was slow. I had a Big Mac which was barely warm and the Vanilla Mocha was only half-full. Not impressed!

Never visited such a loud, busy, slow serving place in my life. I got there at 6:30pm and received my food at 7:16pm and there was only four other customers in front of me. When I finally got my food I sat in the car with my family as it was too loud with 13 year old chavs that can't stop swearing. I gave my child he 5 piece chicken select and she complained that they had given her bbq sauce and 3 pieces of chicken. My 'medium' sized cola was a small and my partners Big Mac had a clear sticky substance in it and had gurkins when we asked for no gurkins. I'm not going there anytime soon
