McDonald's in Cheshire East

Dreadful. Couldn’t even get to place drive-through order yet other lane was flying through. Unfortunately not the first bad experience either. This site is a poor representation for the brand and Congleton deserves better.

The most useless McDonald’s there is! The only reason I give them 1 star is I can’t give them a minus star. When you use the drive through and they give you part of the order and then ask you to park and they’ll bring the rest out to you, you might as well throw what you’ve already got away as you’ll sit waiting for 20 minutes for the rest of the order, by which time you’re food will have gone stone cold.

Food is always cold when you get it, takes ages to get food even at off peak times, always understaffed and very commonly closes two hours before set closing

Good McDonald's. Clean, quick service

Ordered 2 cheese burgers. One of those was overdosed with ketchup to the point of sloppy overspill and the other was dry.

I can wages my life you will never experience a worse McDonald’s Slow + Rude + Incompetent (not sure how) and more don’t give a monkeys than cheeseburgers When will an area manager visit this store?!?

McDonald’s should be looking into this franchise and closing it down! It must be up there as the worst Maccy’s in the UK! I have visited this place about 20 times (only because it’s in my hometown) and I’ve had enough, I’m never going back again! Every time you go they seem incapable of putting what you actually order into the bag. This time they missed off our dips, missed one box of nuggets and got one of the drinks wrong. The drinks machines are usually broken and I couldn’t have a hot chocolate today, usually it’s the milkshake machine which is broken. The staff attending must have switched off when listening to the customer service training, if they attended one at all. Judging by the staff turnover here I think most are probably just thrown in off the street with ten minutes notice. The only positive I can give this is that you will not consume as many calories as you might have thought due to the missing items.

Another 2 trips to Congleton McDonalds today 😫!!! As usual I ordered at the Drive thru and then waited 15 mins in the car park for my order. I drove home to find they hadn’t put any of the 3 portions of chips in, only the burgers, so then had to drive back to McDonald’s again. This is the norm now, I can’t remember the last time i got the correct/full order and didn’t have to drive back to collect or change something!

Missing items of food, slow service… this is on a regular day - we’re used to this. Today they managed to lose my order between where you pay for it and where you pick it up. 15 minutes wait and they still get it wrong. McDonald’s aren’t renowned for their great customer service - but this one is possibly the worst. The only reason it’s getting one dot is because I can’t give it half.

Literally ordered online to pick up a drive thru went to the second window, got our drinks and they told us to park up they will bring the food. After 20 minutes no food we are waiting in the car over 25C heat our drinks are boiling and no food so i went inside asked for my food they were, oh yeah its coming now waited there another 10 minutes no food after 35 minutes of waiting we have got our food no apology nothing. Would never go there again poor sevice. If you care about your time and have self respect do not go there. Order number 073 19/07/24 18:30

Very quick service ,I had my takeaway brought to my car I couldnt fault the service

Supposed to be open at 6am. 3 times I’ve got there for 6 and 3 times I’ve had to wait nearly 10 minutes just place an order

First and last time, utterly miserable staff apart from lady manager who was quite understanding. Ordered a drive through with this miserable member on the speaker, Quite clearly hated his job and couldn't give a dam how he came across to the customer. If your so unhappy working there move or get another job but DONT take it out of the customer. Mentioned this to another member and she also couldn't care as she confirmed. What the hell is up with you all. Smile and be personable, is it a lot to ask....? Food was luke warm and no napkins inside, frankly the whole place looks a dump. Cheer up you've got a job and been paid for it.

Whilst it was not prime lunch time the meal purchase was extremely slow, the quality of the meal was quite poor. The cheese was not in the burger and in the box slipped to the side. Milk shake was very runny

Ordered a mc delivery, ordered the burger meal for 2, chicken combo box ans 2 large oasis,the only thing that came was 2 burgers, rang store n didnt even care, not even busy either, absolute joke

Shockingly slow service. Table service, drive through, and delivery were prioritised over takeaway. White shirt worker seen picking scab before serving. When I eventually got my order it was luke warm at the best. Good job it was just a coffee. Shocking service

Absolutely shocking service from this particular McDonald’s. Yesterday they could not get a simple order correct. Missing items upon delivery. Went down myself to rectify the issue. Was left waiting for 15 mins before someone would even talk to me. Total lack of focus on the counter only interested in order screens . This falls to the fault of the manger and their total inept ability to control and run their store Today waited an hour for a breakfast delivery only to have it cancelled with no explanation This store has more staff than it ever had before and are unable to run efficiently New oversight and work structure are desperately needed This store is an embarrassment

This place is terrible, food without sauces or gurkin, overcooked chips and tables just left dirty. Numerous staff walked past the tables delivering food to tables and just walked past the mess, not even noticed the rubbish. Place has that many alarms going off it sounds like your in intensive care as the local hospital!! How you meant to sit and enjoy your meal in this environment for heavens sake!! Oh and cleaning utensils just propped up but not being touched for somebody to trip up on. Does this place even have a manager? If so do your job please!!

Frys were cold and un edible , shake was half full at best and the burger was at best ok , really dissapointed and ill never use the congleton site again i would say its best avoided as your will be charged a premium for poorly cooked food... i travel a lot and have never been in a worse maccys anywhere ..

Terrible, on 2 separate occasions, we waited 40 mins after going through the drive-through only to be huffed at by staff when we asked for a refund. Hire better staff, and don't take on too many jobs when clearly you can't handle the basics

Waiting for over 15 minutes with a small child in the carpark and still no food arrived, everyone waiting, wish I hadn't bothered...

All tables were dirty, the toilet floor was soaking wet, toilet was unusable, sinks were full of toilet paper. Staffing was poor, although they were polite. Too much emphasis on home delivery, rather than people dining in.

Worst performing venue in the Lemaca chain, they cover the Cheshire McDonald's franchises.

They seriously need to get rid of Uber. Everytime I go in there's piles of takeaway orders sitting waiting whist everyone actually at the restaurant is watching their food go cold. Always hear shouting and arguing from the kitchen , usually from the same member of staff. Whoever talks that way with customers a few meters away needs to give their head a wobble, you're at work.

Very hit and miss but more miss than hit. Fries generally cold and old burgers old or thrown together, more often than not order is missing items or wrong items. For a fast food restaurant it’s normal to wait 30 mins if ordering on the app when moderately busy. Even when quiet can expect to be parked. Staff trying their best just not enough of them.

About the 5th time I’ve found a hair in my food from this McDonald’s in Congleton. Sickening.

Only visited because the local theatre company kids come here for their after show get together. Not great food, dirty, slow to make up orders, toilets are disgusting.

Very little signposting for where you need to drive. The food was not ready to meet the demand of customers. There were too many cars that were waiting for food for the car park to handle. Several employees were stood outside spraying a hose, chatting and laughing loudly whilst doing nothing to help while a single employee was struggling to bring food to the plethora of cars. Not an impressive representation of McDonalds.

Terrible service. Be it walk in or drive thru your pushed to back of ques over uber drivers. Cold food. Missing items. Not the first time.

I used the touch screens to order only to find out the card reader wasn't working and had to go to the till to pay ... Got to the till ready to pay and the server struggled to get the card reader working there as well as it had a loose wire which has apparently been like this for quite a while 🙄...

This McDonald’s need a serious shake up. Food takes ages, you are always asked to park up with drive thru order. It’s never ready. Usually cold. Terrible.

Oddly slow for a fast food. Went through drive through, no hash browns, had to wait to be cooked, along with five other cars of people. The ladies bringing the food out took a while to come, not surprising since their walking pace was that of an arthritic tortoise. Finally they delivered the missing food to the car, with no smile or change in expression, they delivered the most disingenuous apology and ambled away. I realised there were no napkins so I went inside to get some, so much for driving through, or fast food. On my way in over took two of the plodding employees delivering missing food to poor waiting drive through customers. Food was mediocre as was coffee, but that maccas, low quality high speed, though not today. I recommend going in. Or going elsewhere.

The McDonald's was okay, but the Car Park is a scam. One hour fifteen minutes to park, order, eat and leave or they fine you £90! Be warned!

McDonald's continues to decline for me, we're now expected to do their job for them by creating our own order either on app or on in house terminals. The walk in customer is disadvantaged by having to fight for space with myriad delivery companies collecting multiple orders which appear to be prioritised. They are no longer a fast food option, todays order took 28 minutes from ordering to being thrown on the counter, another 5 minutes before the order number was called to advise it was ready. To put this in perspective, my local pub can take the order at the table and have food served at the table within 10 minutes. The only good point about todays visit... The usual mediocre quality of the food hasn't got any worse... So why did we eat there you may ask, well, because my grandson specifically requested it and every grandparent knows what the little fella wants he gets (but you don't have to enjoy it)

Poor service. Waited 20 minutes and it was cold with the tea stewed. The staff didn't look like they cared and needed a rocket up them. It wasn't busy yet there were orders waiting to be collected stacked up but not bagged. Every table was dirty and no one cleaned. Food on the floor. Won't be going back anytime soon. It's called fast food and clearly isn't.

Staff were ignoring us and very moody when we didn’t get the right drinks we ordered. tables were dirty, food was cold, unhygienic atmosphere but bang average. Staff were shouting at uber eats drivers. long wait time and didn’t get ours straws and winning sips

Absolutely shocking experience. Next time you’ll see me in KFC, drink didn’t come with a winning sip and cheese look 10 years old. All the food we ordered took over 30 minutes and everything was cold, whoever puts on the music they have an awful taste and tables were dirty. Never coming back 🙅

Worst McDonald's EVER. Wait times are ridiculous long. It would be quicker to drive to a different McDonald's and back than wait to get food here.

Probably the last time I’ll be using this restaurant due to the terrible service. I don’t think it’s too much to expect to order on the app take to the dive thru, collect the order and go. Instead you are told to park up and wait nearly 20 mins for your order which they then inevitably get wrong and you have to spend extra time going inside trying to sort. This isn’t just a one off occurrence as you see many customers on the car park asking staff about where their order is !! So much for fast food !!

If you have limited time don’t bother. I could have cooked a fillet Steak with a Rossini sauce with triple cooked chips quicker.

Arrived at McDonald’s no Que through drive through and order was taken quickly. I was directed to parked order bay and food arrived cold after a 27 min wait. Food sent back and still waiting 33 mins now absolutely disgusting service.

Ordered on app today . went in to collect. Restaurant was in chaos . At least 5 just eat drivers had been waiting over 40 mins. I waited 30 mins for my order and just gave up. Drive thru was moving but loads of people waiting in restaurant and Very little food coming out.

I was there Saturday (09703/24)night 10 p.m block the sitting area with chairs and was very dirty .when came my order missing the all fries with meals (I had 4 meals not just one) foods was very cold and bad.

Went through the drive through, had to wait for the order, by the time it arrived the mcflurry had melted and i had to return the bag of food as it was cold. On returning the order i asked for another mcflurry and i was told no. Staff couldnt care a less, no apology nothing. The Order arrived after another long wait! Got a new mcflurry and the order seemed hotter BUT on opening the bag when i got home the order wasn't even correct! Won't be bothering again, as this isn't the first time, but definitely my last.....

They prioritise drive through and uber eats etc over eat in customers. Took over 25 minutes to get food whilst loads of other orders were sorted much quicker. Once got food, it was all there and tasted ok!

I don't normally review a McDonald's but I'm going this purely for the lovely customer service this morning from a young woman (with red/auburn hair) who I didn't clock their name who served my breakfast. I rarely eat in, so was surprised at the table service. Just nice to go to a chain and get the sort of service and welcome you'd expect from a decent independent place.

We were at the drive through and it wasn't too busy. Ordering was quite swift, but we had to wait in a bay for an order completion. The girl who brought our food was friendly and smiley, and very engaging. Food was good as usual.

Incapable of following custom order instructions. I requested no onions via the McDonalds app. Lo and behold the burger arrives with onions. I have an intolerance to onions, thankfully not an allergy. Fries were also cold, as usual. Every single time we order there’s an issue. Slow service, wrong or missing items, cold. Total waste of time and money. Would much prefer to trek to Didsbury and get a Five Guys where the staff can understand basic instructions.

My son and I love Mcdonald in congleton I can take my little son more now as my mum works in Mcdonald in congleton but the staff was amazing tonight as my son had a accident but well done Mcdonald :) 😀 😃 🙂

Couldn’t find another photo so had to use one from another valued customer. This young little lad, not only gave us what we asked for, but double! For free! This not so small man, was so exited and in love with his job, he liked to dress up as Donald the Mcdonald and wear his special gloves! Always handy and quick on the tills, and always gave us cold food! Thank you to this young man, making our experience so joyful, making our delivery time to our car in just 3 and a half hours. P.S please give my wife back.

Flat coke with no ice, when I asked for some you would have thought I'd asked for the world. Service slow, staff couldn't care less and were rude. Only saving grace the breakfast wrap!

Im normally very positive about our macdonalds in Congleton, After my experience tonight I can completely understand why people get so angry in there. I ordered on the app to collect through the drive thru then to be asked to go and park up and food would be brought out........ 25 minutes later and after we had been given our mcflurries that were Melted.... then the food was brought out!! FAST FOOD????? NO, DONT BE FOOLED!

Obviously chronically understaffed. The worst and slowest mcdonalds I have ever had the displeasure of visiting. Shame it's my local. If you come here, expect to wait. Drive thru looks more like a car park.

Great food, was disappointed with my hot chocolate,very watery ,the young lady did replace with another one. Usually brill hot chocolate.

As always, the tables and surroundings were filthy and left uncleaned for long intervals. True to form, the orders are often incomplete with something or the other left out by mistake.

Waited 35-45mins for breakfast. Many cars also waiting long periods of time. Food was cold by the time we received it.

Carried my 6yr old for hid birthday I didn't know there was no play area he was so disappointed but he was happy for his happy meal

Arrived at drive-thru at 10.58, sat for 3 minutes, when eventually asked for my order at 11.01, was told I could not have breakfast because it was after 11am! I ordered an alternate meal, paid and was then asked to park in an order bay. 11.22 food finally arrived, very poor quality, very slow service, and no apology, shall not be using this Macs again. BTW - this isn't the first time. Be warned - stay away from this one

This visit was as a result of wanting a quick & cheap bite to eat. Only to find it was neither fast nor cheap! The order took in excess of 40mins to be handed over, only to find it to be too cold to eat. We aren’t talking warm or aired, we are talking near fridge cold. Young unorganised staff with as much energy & drive as a slug high on salt, with their only focus to be on delivery orders. McDonalds built their empire on a well organised team, working a slick process to deliver fresh tasty food! I can only assume that the Congleton franchise is the anti-McDonalds!!!!!

Awful service multiple occasions of an inability to correctly read or deliver an order in less than 30 minutes

The food took 18 minutes to arrive at the table, and one item was wrong. The host replaced it quickly. She was lovely. Overall, the time to wait for food was poor. So much for fast food.

Seriously can someone buy some pens so you can start checking orders off against the receipts. How do you miss off the burger from a meal 🤦‍♂️ Call centre is dreadful to deal with if ordering for delivery.
