McDonald's in Cheshire East

Having to wait 30 minutes for an order is not acceptable, very poor attempt at an apology from the staff. Will not be returning

Really hit and miss place, mostly miss. They've managed to take fast food, make it slow and inedible. It's not even a good price any more.

Very slow on orders and burgers just thrown in bag no care anymore. They just focus on delivery's!

3.15 on Thursday 9/1 We asked staff member to wipe our table as it was unclean, as we're all the vacant tables. Staff member seemed to find this amusing and I had to ask again around 10 minutes later. Another staff member apologised, wiped out table and said person responsible for cleaning tables had finished her shift, presumably at 3pm. When we left approx 3.35 no tables were clean(ed).

Rude young man pretending to be a shift manager, I asked for a refund due to waiting 26 minutes for one burger and no apology, just slapped the refund receipt into my hand with a smirk and walked off. Tables just left with rubbish all over them, dirty and grimey.

The food was cold, and it took 35 minutes to be served. The tables were dirty.

I had to wait a long time for my food to arrive and the chips were tasteless no salt and were very dry. The price is too high and poor quality. I will never go back to this McDonald's ever again.

not pleased with this I ordered 3 burger for my family and evry burger was wrong one was supposed to have no lettuce and still had lettuce even though the sticker was on there one had added cheese wich wasn't added and again the sticker was on there and the double cheeseburger had no meat on it not impressed at all.

Very Poor service don’t think I’ve ever been through the drive and got food without having to park and wait. I’ve been earlier and had a 30 minute wait we had drank are drinks while waiting it’s the last time I visit the place

Ordered delivery, food all cold. I went to McDonald's and they said it was the driver's fault, not theirs. And I looked on the map that the driver waited more than an hour for my order in McDonald's and was in touch with me all the time. Liars, useless workers, I will NEVER order here again and I don't advise you to do the same.

People who leave good reviews, I don't understand why. I have ordered here 5 times and will not order here again. The food is cold, the staff is rude. The most responsible McDonald's I've ever been to. After my last visit, I will not go to this chain again. Disgusting. A fast food restaurant, and you have to wait at least 40 minutes for food because the staff is standing and chatting instead of working

McDonald's Congleton got there food was very cold all went back ,floor was dirty, tables was dirty ,and the place was quite so there was no excuse by saying they were busy ,

Yet another McDonald's with self-service tills that can't provide receipts. It's a bit frustrating to have to ask at the desk to get one every time I go to these stores.

Absolutely lovely the lady (manager I think) was so nice came over to my table and asked am I okay and if I’ve had a good day (it’s 11:30), tables could do with a clean as there are empty tables with rubbish still on them but other than that it’s amazing.

Waited for ages, when my order finally arrived, the fries, which I ordered with no salt to get them hot were, literally stone cold, and the 1/4 pounder was tepid; I've travelled widely, and used McDonald's everywhere. This was, without question the most unsatisfactory McDonald's experience I've ever had!! Period!

Don't order online. They didn't even make our food. Refused the order an hour in and didn't even close for another 45 minutes. Wouldn't answer the phone so I haven't a clue the reason why.

Called in at 9:05am ordered and paid 9:11am 9:27 order on counter,very slow service,even though only 6 people eating in the place, counter staff member really didn’t want to be there,no smile just big sigh when putting orders together,if you don’t want to work there go somewhere else! I’m all over the uk with work and the macdonalds in my home town of congleton is the slowest one I go to.don’t think of going on a weekend for breakfast unless you want to wait over 30 minutes for a cold wrong order.

Thought I'd pick up a quick burger after work, around 10pm,placed my order at the drive through, drove round the corner towards the first hatch to pay and sat stationary for the next 10 minutes at least, when I finally got to the payment hatch there was no one in it, finally got to pay someone and then get my burger, took about half an hour in all, and the burger wasn't really worth it, won't go back

I ordered (and paid for) an extra patty but the burger only had one. Had to wait 10 minutes, despite there being few customers. Staff seemed preoccupied with delivery orders. The burger and chips were warm rather than hot. Also had a "hot" chocolate (tepid in reality) that was weak.

Wasn't many people there so was quick service at the drive through but the food was cold and got 1 of my orders wrong

Today I went into the McDonalds restaurant in Congleton at 2:00pm on the 21/11/24 and the young girl who was firstly mopping the floors with a smile on her face, made sure nobody slipped and took care of everyone’s safety. Then I noticed her wiping tables and making sure the customers were happy. May I say, she is an asset to your company and restaurant. I didn’t catch her name but she was young and slim with blond hair. What a credit to your company. As a business owner who employs 164 staff, I know good staff are hard to find. So if you know whom I’m taking about, please say a big Thank You to her.

Terrible service, waited in the double drive thru ques to watch ten people get served in one queue while I waited at the order kiosk then waited 45 mins for a cold order completely wrong an when I went in to amend I got attitude from the manager who could hardly speak English

The usual wait after ordering and paying, it is getting to be an expected thing in "fast food" drive thru. But, apart from that staff are friendly and the food was hot and tbh the wait was not excessive, so no real complaints.

The service is abysmal some workers can’t even string a sentence together after telling the person on the drive thru 3 times no ketchup on burger went round found out he had put no pickles I got that sorted then went to collect got there tomato sauce on burger the service is beyond belief u have managers there haven’t got a clue I am e making head office about the franchisee his restaurant is useless if I had my way I’d sack the lot of them having being to the USA on many occasions the service there is superior why can’t this franchisee train his people to be like them in the USA once again profits and greed have taken over I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant I use that word loosely to my worst enemy by far the worst macdonalds in the area they need a tv Crewe undercover to show how really useless they are what a joke

A completely plain big Mac no cheese nothing .. comes with cheese every time! Get the rest of the order wrong 8/10 of the time. Now they charge for sauces!! 50p for a sweet chilli sauce 10p for tomato sauce and 10p for BBQ sauce. As a family of four, we have just paid £1.60 for sauces that were free last week. Boycotting this McDonald's .. other nearby McDonald's don't charge for sauces. Rip off.

Quiet time when we came, late for breakfast. Efficient service and food actually tasted better. Toilets were relatively clean for a mcdonalds.

Slowest McDonald's ever. Still waiting for order after 20 minutes. Been to the counter twice "we're just doing it". Meanwhile a dozen McDelivery orders have gone out. Really poor service. Finally came - 25 mins after ordering. Didn't come with the mini hash browns ordered, didn't come with the maple syrup for the pancakes.

Ever since delivery became an option all MacDonalds went downhill in regards to service and quality let's be honest when was the last time your meal was warm

Tend to get the order mixed up sometimes but who doesn't especially when it's busy. Vibe can be a bit odd at certain times due to kids but overall it's ok.

Terrible experience at McDonald's Congleton. The staff were inattentive, slow, and more focused on joking around than doing their jobs. I waited ages for my food while the person preparing it disappeared for 15 minutes, with no explanation or apology. Even the manager seemed aware but did nothing to help. Completely unprofessional and disappointing.

Food never looks like the pictures but it tasted ok. Decided to sit in and had to wait for the food to be delivered to the table. However we amused ourselves by trying to kill all the flies which were in the store. My wife walked into the toilets and straight back out due to the lack of cleanliness

Absolutely the worst McDonald's I've ever been to. Bored, demotivated staff barely willing to scratch themselves watch piles of prepared food mount up under the heat lamp and reluctantly take it in turns to bag some of it up for the army of hungry customers patiently waiting for their food. Given how long it sits under the heat lamps, the food is soggy and lukewarm by the time they get it. No apology and no effort at all to get the food to customers in good time. The whole lot of them need a swift kick up the backside, starting with the manager who I would fire on the spot.

Same old same old. Another McDonald's that spends most of it's time sorting out drive through and just eat collection customers and ignores the ones stood right in front of the counter. Ordered on the screen and waited 20 minutes before finally getting our order. I ended up asking for some of it so we could at least eat something. I think in future i will order at the screen and take a foil lined food bag with me and hold my phone. They can't do enough for people like that. Muppets 😕

Never known a McDonald’s like it. Always have to park up; whether you be first and only in the drive thru queue.. or whether you order at the speaker and queue for 15 minutes in the drive thru. The food is never “ready” yet when you get the food it’s cold like it’s been sat there. The icing on the cake is when you have to wait for a “special order” yet you get home and you’ve been given a bog standard cold burger off the side.

What a disgrace. Every table filthy, toilets a disgrace even the table number was covered in grease! There is no way this place can get through a hygiene review. I have never been in such a poor McDonalds ever.

The seating area was filthy, the bins were overflowing inside and every table had rubbish on. Food took forever to come and staff had no go in them.

Car park only for 75 minutes, so when busy and with kids, it is too stressful to eat there.

Dreadful. Couldn’t even get to place drive-through order yet other lane was flying through. Unfortunately not the first bad experience either. This site is a poor representation for the brand and Congleton deserves better.

The most useless McDonald’s there is! The only reason I give them 1 star is I can’t give them a minus star. When you use the drive through and they give you part of the order and then ask you to park and they’ll bring the rest out to you, you might as well throw what you’ve already got away as you’ll sit waiting for 20 minutes for the rest of the order, by which time you’re food will have gone stone cold.

Food is always cold when you get it, takes ages to get food even at off peak times, always understaffed and very commonly closes two hours before set closing

Ordered 2 cheese burgers. One of those was overdosed with ketchup to the point of sloppy overspill and the other was dry.

McDonald’s should be looking into this franchise and closing it down! It must be up there as the worst Maccy’s in the UK! I have visited this place about 20 times (only because it’s in my hometown) and I’ve had enough, I’m never going back again! Every time you go they seem incapable of putting what you actually order into the bag. This time they missed off our dips, missed one box of nuggets and got one of the drinks wrong. The drinks machines are usually broken and I couldn’t have a hot chocolate today, usually it’s the milkshake machine which is broken. The staff attending must have switched off when listening to the customer service training, if they attended one at all. Judging by the staff turnover here I think most are probably just thrown in off the street with ten minutes notice. The only positive I can give this is that you will not consume as many calories as you might have thought due to the missing items.

Another 2 trips to Congleton McDonalds today 😫!!! As usual I ordered at the Drive thru and then waited 15 mins in the car park for my order. I drove home to find they hadn’t put any of the 3 portions of chips in, only the burgers, so then had to drive back to McDonald’s again. This is the norm now, I can’t remember the last time i got the correct/full order and didn’t have to drive back to collect or change something!

Missing items of food, slow service… this is on a regular day - we’re used to this. Today they managed to lose my order between where you pay for it and where you pick it up. 15 minutes wait and they still get it wrong. McDonald’s aren’t renowned for their great customer service - but this one is possibly the worst. The only reason it’s getting one dot is because I can’t give it half.

Literally ordered online to pick up a drive thru went to the second window, got our drinks and they told us to park up they will bring the food. After 20 minutes no food we are waiting in the car over 25C heat our drinks are boiling and no food so i went inside asked for my food they were, oh yeah its coming now waited there another 10 minutes no food after 35 minutes of waiting we have got our food no apology nothing. Supposed to be open at 6am. 3 times I’ve got there for 6 and 3 times I’ve had to wait nearly 10 minutes just place an order

First and last time, utterly miserable staff apart from lady manager who was quite understanding. Ordered a drive through with this miserable member on the speaker, Quite clearly hated his job and couldn't give a dam how he came across to the customer. If your so unhappy working there move or get another job but DONT take it out of the customer. Mentioned this to another member and she also couldn't care as she confirmed. What the hell is up with you all. Smile and be personable, is it a lot to ask....? Food was luke warm and no napkins inside, frankly the whole place looks a dump. Cheer up you've got a job and been paid for it.

Whilst it was not prime lunch time the meal purchase was extremely slow, the quality of the meal was quite poor. The cheese was not in the burger and in the box slipped to the side. Milk shake was very runny

Ordered a mc delivery, ordered the burger meal for 2, chicken combo box ans 2 large oasis,the only thing that came was 2 burgers, rang store n didnt even care, not even busy either, absolute joke

Shockingly slow service. Table service, drive through, and delivery were prioritised over takeaway. White shirt worker seen picking scab before serving. When I eventually got my order it was luke warm at the best. Good job it was just a coffee. Shocking service

This place is terrible, food without sauces or gurkin, overcooked chips and tables just left dirty. Numerous staff walked past the tables delivering food to tables and just walked past the mess, not even noticed the rubbish. Place has that many alarms going off it sounds like your in intensive care as the local hospital!! How you meant to sit and enjoy your meal in this environment for heavens sake!! Oh and cleaning utensils just propped up but not being touched for somebody to trip up on. Does this place even have a manager? If so do your job please!!

Absolutely shocking service from this particular McDonald’s. Yesterday they could not get a simple order correct. Missing items upon delivery. Went down myself to rectify the issue. Was left waiting for 15 mins before someone would even talk to me. Total lack of focus on the counter only interested in order screens . This falls to the fault of the manger and their total inept ability to control and run their store Today waited an hour for a breakfast delivery only to have it cancelled with no explanation This store has more staff than it ever had before and are unable to run efficiently New oversight and work structure are desperately needed This store is an embarrassment

Frys were cold and un edible , shake was half full at best and the burger was at best ok , really dissapointed and ill never use the congleton site again i would say its best avoided as your will be charged a premium for poorly cooked food... i travel a lot and have never been in a worse maccys anywhere ..

Terrible, on 2 separate occasions, we waited 40 mins after going through the drive-through only to be huffed at by staff when we asked for a refund. Hire better staff, and don't take on too many jobs when clearly you can't handle the basics

All tables were dirty, the toilet floor was soaking wet, toilet was unusable, sinks were full of toilet paper. Staffing was poor, although they were polite. Too much emphasis on home delivery, rather than people dining in.

They seriously need to get rid of Uber. Everytime I go in there's piles of takeaway orders sitting waiting whist everyone actually at the restaurant is watching their food go cold. Always hear shouting and arguing from the kitchen , usually from the same member of staff. Whoever talks that way with customers a few meters away needs to give their head a wobble, you're at work.

Very hit and miss but more miss than hit. Fries generally cold and old burgers old or thrown together, more often than not order is missing items or wrong items. For a fast food restaurant it’s normal to wait 30 mins if ordering on the app when moderately busy. Even when quiet can expect to be parked. Staff trying their best just not enough of them.

About the 5th time I’ve found a hair in my food from this McDonald’s in Congleton. Sickening.

Only visited because the local theatre company kids come here for their after show get together. Not great food, dirty, slow to make up orders, toilets are disgusting.

Very little signposting for where you need to drive. The food was not ready to meet the demand of customers. There were too many cars that were waiting for food for the car park to handle. Several employees were stood outside spraying a hose, chatting and laughing loudly whilst doing nothing to help while a single employee was struggling to bring food to the plethora of cars. Not an impressive representation of McDonalds.

Terrible service. Be it walk in or drive thru your pushed to back of ques over uber drivers. Cold food. Missing items. Not the first time.
