The only good thing about Chi Gate McDonald's is the mild excitement around guessing how they're going to mess up your order this time round. Given all the years of fine tuning to make McDonalds efficient and consistent worldwide, it's quite impressive how exceptionally bad these guys are at every aspect of the process. For example, today I ordered a big Mac with large fries. What I received was a big Mac with no pickles and about five cold, stale and chewy fries. Given that it was a quiet Monday night and employees outnumbered customers 5 to 1, I'm wondering how they managed to mess it up so badly. The whole place is in chaos, with rubbish everywhere. random furniture is dotted around the place in the middle of the floor. The screen which tells you if your order is ready appears to just be there for fun, and you watch as your order number bounces between ready and preparing - or quite often it just disappears for a bit. The counter is full of people complaining that their orders are wrong. Meanwhile, the manager is... Taking food to people's tables. I would rather spend £15 for a burger at Five Guys over the road than have to withstand the utter chaos, disgusting food, and agonizing wait of McDonald's Chichester Gate again.

Was super quiet for a sunny summer holiday day. Took almost 5 minutes to be greeted at the drive thru, another 15 to recieve our food after being asked to park up and when order was delivered we had been given someone else's food, the label didn't remotely reflect what we had ordered. Chips were warm, drink and mcflurry was cold, that's all i can give it.

Was not busy, bur still had to park up. Also wanted to try milky bar ice cream but they didn't have any

No issue at all with our driver. McDonald’s took well over an hour for a fairly small meal. Everything arrived cold and even all the ice from a drink melted.

I placed it to the wrong store and on app it was not helping me, the lady shift manager was down to earth, she helped me in every possible way she can. But the app help line is just stupid and not very helpful.

i ordered at 2.17pm on bag it said done at 3.07 ready for pick up it arrived at 4pm. it was stone cold, milkshake was warm. awful. binned most of it. need a refund

The chips we undercooked and floppy, they forgot my burger. But an employee got some.crayons and some colour sheet for my kids, so I gave her a star for that! Kinda made up for the rest of the service. :)

Our chips were cold and rubbery not nice, didn't eat them

This McDonald's, generally is great, as all places the staff have there on and off days and you can meet some really moody people over the counter and in the drive through however usually really good, I wouldn't recommend getting anything delivered however as things are very often missed and it's painful then going through the process trying to get that food.

Drive thru took so long only 2 cars before me and large irders absolutely wasnt the problem !so much for fast food !!!

Staff is very slow. Waiting 30 mins for simple order for one person is crazy. And they have not gave me exactly what i ordered (wrong sause used on brekfast roll)

Ordered a burger with no gherkins- I received about 15 gherkins (no exaggeration). I also ordered garlic bread dippers sharebox and received cheese share box. Awful

Worst McDonalds I’ve been too. Staff just ignore you and your order will be wrong 99% of the time. Waited almost 30 minutes for food with no apology at all restaurant wasn’t even busy at the time. Won’t be coming back anytime soon. The staff here definitely need more training in customer service…

Decent McDonald's that we usually visit on the return journey from West Wittering beach. Ample parking as it's part of the leisure park.

It's MacDonald's, What more can you say. It never feels that clean. There seems so much packaging waste. Not a great place for the environmental conscious.

The restaurant was freezing, food cold and half of our order was missing as per usual. When will McDonald's scrap the ridiculous ordering system, go back to counter service and stop prioritising drive through and takeaways.

Good portion sizes are small. The drive through is slow and we're almost always asked to park up. It's also far more expensive than most private businesses

My recent dining experience at MacDonald's in Chichester left much to be desired. While the restaurant is new to the area, the overall visit was underwhelming. Firstly, the food quality was average. Although MacDonald's is known for its fast food offerings, the items I ordered lacked the freshness and flavor that I expected. The burgers were lukewarm, and the fries were not as crispy as they could have been. Secondly, the service was disappointingly slow. Despite the restaurant's efforts to accommodate customers, there were long wait times to place an order and receive it. This delay detracted from the dining experience and left me feeling frustrated. Thirdly, hygiene standards were not up to par. The dining area and tables appeared to be hastily cleaned, with noticeable stains and crumbs left behind. This lack of cleanliness was concerning, especially in a new establishment. In conclusion, while MacDonald's in Chichester is a new addition to the area, my experience was marred by average food quality, slow service, and poor hygiene. I hope they can improve these aspects to provide a more enjoyable dining experience for future patrons.

Rubbish staff!!!! 6.00 they didn't open the shop, I have to wait outside 15 min

Unacceptably cold. The restaurant is less than 5 minutes drive from the house. It must have been handed over cold. Also, delivery time was plainly misleading and jumped significantly almost immediately upon order. Hard to accept that’s not deliberate and aimed at attracting orders which might not be made if accurate delivery times were given. All in all, a poor experience and not one we’ll repeat.

Awful service.. I waited over 30 minutes, asked what was going on after watching the staff do nothing all chatting and cuddling behind the counter. My food was given to me. Chips were meant to be a large. Get more in a small! The food was cold so ended up with a KFC! MUCH BETTER SERVICE

The staff don't know the difference from a Mc crispy and a Mc spicy. I can ensure you I know the difference (types from toilet) 🚽

Milk shakes had hardly any strawberry in them. I asked and they changed one but was the same. Mainly white.

Missing apple pie from order. Then further checks missing my 2 sweet chilli dips aswell that you select on the app. Didn't realise missing ketchup from happy meal I selected aswell. Think they need to check English qualifications before hiring. Oh and it was not that busy either.

What a joke this place is! Ordered 2 kids chicken nugget meals, at the drive thru. Got told that it wasn’t quite ready then had to wait in the car for 25minutes to get my order!!! If they can’t do fast food, surely it’s time to pull the shutters down. I could have cooked chicken nuggets and chips quicker at home. Disgraceful

We ordered our food via the McDonald’s app, and used the park-up bay. The order took an obnoxiously long amount of time to come out (around 20 minutes, maybe more). And when it did come, the orange juice bottle was broken and we were told to wait while the worker had to ask their manager for ketchup. The worker then came back out to our car and told us they had “run out of ketchup”. The food tasted alright, very disappointed in the service.

Crew were working with no urgency and joking/standing around which understandably was creating a long queue indoors and at drive thru. Forgot to add sauces that were ordered with the meal and the fries were not salted (they are supposed to normally). Not the usual level of service for a recognised franchise of fast food.

It's a clean busy McDonald's and as expected.

Extremely slow service, over 15 mins and had to ask for our order. Lots of drinks and other items out of stock. Dirty lobby area, dirty seating areas and outside. When we got our food we had things missing, then had to wait ages again. Cheeseburger didn't even have onions in it but couldn't be bothered to go back again. Not the best visit, wouldn't bother using this one again.
