Provided delicious ice-creams and gave us a generous discount when they discovered we were on a day trip for Refugees and Asylum Seekers. We will definitely be using they guys in the future for trips to Frinton.

Been here a couple of times over the years just out of convienience but as others have said the woman is very rude. She doesn't look like she has ever managed a smile in her life. The prices are incredibly high 2 double scoops, 1 single and a latte came to £18.00. Much better going up to the cafe near the pier or actually on the pier, much friendlier service and slightly cheaper.

Went for ice creams only, 50p more expensive than the one round the corner. Child's portion for £3!! We felt ripped off won't be going again!!

The woman serving was so rude and obv with history of it as we were already warned in the queue by the people behind us about her awful customer service. We were told by another man to order the “number” of the ice cream we wanted and not the flavour (machine goes by numbers i guess) but why would you need the lady to press a button but get another man to serve the ice cream- criss/crossing each other? soooo odd. when handing over money or items, i had to ask how much it was after she was happy enough to take the note to which she replied £3.50 bluntly. no please, no manners. When asked for a cup of tea we got told we couldn’t have one? And then had to ask why? Because of the queue? That was laughable, It wasn’t that big and a cup of tea does not take that long or require a massive amount of staff. Maybe if the older lady didn’t just stand there acting like the a snooty boss rather than do actual work serving with politeness and a smile she wouldnt have negative reviews Her awful service will catch on and people will go elsewhere as will i.

2 ladies, the elderly one was out and out rude. An ambiguous menu but unhelpful when asking for further details. Filled rolls? I asked if they had egg and she looked at me like I’d asked for a unicorn! I finally got to that they had ham and cheese and asked for that. One 1 roll. Imagine! She muttered about how much extra she was going to charge me for that. I then pointed at a brownie and asked for it. ‘We don’t sell brownies’. Like pulling teeth trying to get info. Turned out to be bread pudding. Cost me £7 for the roll and that. The roll was very basic, marg and cheap ham. I ate the roll on the chairs outside then went back up for an icecream. I knew from hearing a previous customer that the flavoured whippy machine was broken even though the board had still been put out. No list of flavours for the other ice cream, towels chucked over the freezer so you couldn’t see, and, after the previous rudeness, I thought ‘stuff it!’ and left. Very much riding on their location I think, there’s not a lot until the pier, so they’re onto a winner. Without their location, wouldn’t last long!

I have never left a negative review before but have visited this place a few times and the woman working there was so rude it was bordering on bizarre. The first time she became very hostile after I stopped to buy candy floss there because she saw that one of my children had an ice cream I’d bought further down the beach ‘oh…we are good enough for candy floss are we’ I actually thought she was joking until she slammed my change down muttering ‘bloody cheek…’ The second time she was shouting at my children to hurry up and decide what they wanted (we weren't even in the queue at this point, they were just looking at the menu.) Then she implied my son, who was holding a spade he bought there earlier, was stealing it. When I explained we’d bought it earlier (she had actually served us), she turned Columbo on me, ‘oh yeah? How much did you pay then?!’ I know what you’re thinking, why keep going back? I know, I know!! Truth is I kept returning as after a long day at the beach I was too lazy to walk the kids that bit further for an ice cream from somewhere nice, but after the last lot of abuse, I’m totally walking a few extra yards (and waving my ice cream at her on the way back!! ; )

Visited Walton today with friends and children. Decided to purchase ice creams from Mays Broad walk Cafe, lady very rude, poor customer service. £3 for a 99 cone also £3 for a small scoop of ice cream in a tub. When ordering, lady was trying to take money from me before I’d finished speaking and took it without even telling me the price, I had to ask her how mush she was charging, her response was sticking 3 fingers up and saying “I only buy the best ice cream and that’s what you pay for”. Shocking service and prices. They only take cash as well, no card, make sure you have plenty on you.

Attempted to visit yesterday as wanted to get donuts but this cafe doesn’t serve them. Lady was very helpful and advised us where we could get some. Returned today to get lunch and the service was outstanding. Prices were reasonable. Selection of food was good and the food was very nice. We also got an ice cream from here before we left. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning again, just from the service alone as both of the ladies serving were very friendly and personable.

Very friendly staff. Good food. Not so keen on the music a bit young for us. The desert was fabulous Toffee and Honeycomb cheese cake. The Shiraz wine was also very good. Good service from DaisyT

Always go here for coffee and a bite to eat in Connaught Av . The Flat white is always a double shot and the food is good and freshly prepared.

We heard they did a good Sunday roast, so decided to give them a try. Glad we did. The roast was fantastic. Proper home cooked food and not the precooked and reheated stuff a lot of the big chains serve up. We opted for the roast beef and the extra of cauliflower cheese with leaks and bacon and I highly recommend you try that as it was superb. Big thick slices of tender beef and nice roasties and an impressive range of veggies which consisted of parsnips, carrots, broccoli, swede and peas! Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Best roast dinner i've had in apub for a very long time. We look forward to going back!

The coffee was nice. The prices were reasonable. The cakes looked nice and homemade but the buttercream was made with margerine and that flavour was foul. We all scraped the icing off our cake and just ate the sponge because we hadn't had lunch.
